Paired with his rider, Edward Gals, he became both World and European
Champion and thus one of the world's best dressage horses: "miracle horse"
Totilas. Born in the Netherlands in 2000, the stallion exchanged owners last
year. It is generally assumed that Paul Schockemühle and Ann-Kathrin Linsenhoff parted company with a double-digit million sum in exchange for the
animal. Since then, Linsenhoff's stepson, Matthias Rath, has celebrated nothing but success with Totilas.
The film "Totilas the miracle horse" presents the story of the legendary stallion. The authors, Juliane Möcklinghoff, Vanessa Kossen and Maren Höfle
pose the question: How can a stallion be the saviour of the horse-riding industry, a cult horse, an object of love and a financial perpetuum mobile at the
same time? The film looks behind the scenes of dressage sport. Totilas and
his rider are subjected to huge expectations, but can they both withstand the
pressure? Is Totilas really so gifted and talented, or just a completely normal
dressage horse? An NDR team accompanied Totilas eight months prior to the
European Dressage Championships and is on hand at the competition in Rotterdam. No matter whether confronted by a camera crane or a rail-based
camera, Totilas remained cool at all times. The authors also spent an exclusive training day observing him, whereby they were able to see the first new
addition to the family.

Der Film "Totilas - Das Wunderpferd" erzählt die Geschichte des legendären
Pferdes. Die Autorinnen Juliane Möcklinghoff, Vanessa Kossen und Maren
Höfle fragen: Wie kann ein Hengst Retter der Reitbranche, Kultpferd, Liebesobjekt und finanzielles "Perpetuum mobile" sein? Der Film blickt dazu hinter
die Kulissen des Dressursports. Totilas und sein Reiter sind riesigen Erwartungen ausgesetzt, können beide diesem Druck standhalten? Ist Totilas tatsächlich so begabt und talentiert oder einfach nur ein ganz normales Dressurpferd? Das NDR Team hat Totilas acht Monate vor der DressurEuropameisterschaft begleitet und ist bei den Entscheidungen in Rotterdam
dabei. Ob mit Kamerakran oder fahrbarer Kamera, bei den Dreharbeiten blieb
Totilas ganz cool. Die Autorinnen beobachteten ihn zudem exklusiv einen
