website presence was given a complete face lift and now
fulfils all criteria that make for a good contemporary website: it is informative, interactive and individual. The result
is more than just a calling card of the WorldWideWeb – the
professional web presence underlines CeoTronics’ claim of being the world’s leading supplier of professional communication systems for use in difficult
operating conditions. CeoTronics favours intuitive usability combined with clear structuring. The new, vastly simplified navigation is now designed towards
the specific target groups. So that the respective communication solutions are now even easier to find. With just a few clicks users from the target groups
industry, fire brigades, airport / airline or public authorities can access individual information. Thanks to satisfyingly short loading times customers and sales
partners now have a central point that holds – besides basic information on the diverse range of products – also important target group brochures, technical
information and datasheets at the ready.

Sachsen entscheidet sich für Digitalfunkzubehör von CeoTronics
Bei der Ausschreibung „Kommunikationszubehör“ für die neuen Digitalfunk­
geräte im Bundesland Sachsen konnte sich CeoTronics erneut gegen die
Konkurrenz durchsetzen. Die Ausschreibung garantiert ein Mindestabnahme­
volumen im Wert von ca. € 1,4 Mio. Das maximale Gesamtvolumen der ab­
zurufenden Losgrößen beläuft sich auf stattliche ca. € 3,4 Mio.
Die Kommunikationssysteme sollen innerhalb von 36 Monaten abgerufen
und geliefert werden. Nach der gewonnen Ausschreibung „Berlin“ und den
Teilgewinnen in Thüringen und der Hansestadt Hamburg hat CeoTronics er­
neut seine Kompetenz als Partner der BOS (Behörden und Organisationen
mit Sicherheitsaufgaben) unter Beweis gestellt.
Der enorme Aufwand, den CeoTronics im Geschäftsjahr 2009 / 2010 und im
ersten Quartal 2010 / 2011 betreiben musste, habe sich nach Worten des Vor­
standsvorsitzenden Thomas H. Günther gelohnt.
Saxony opts for digital radio network
accessories from CeoTronics
In the tendering for “Communication Accessories” for the
new digital radio systems in the German federal state of
Saxony CeoTronics was again able to beat the competition. The tender guarantees a minimum purchase volume to
the value of approx. € 1.4 million. The maximum total volume
of the batch sizes amounts to a sizeable € 3.4 million or so.
The communication systems are to be called up and supplied within 36 months. After winning the tenders “Berlin”
and the partial tender successes in Thüringen and the Hanseatic city of Hamburg CeoTronics has yet again demonstrated its competence as a partner of BOS (authorities and
organisations responsible for safety).
CeoTronics wird auch zukünftig dank sehr hoher Produkt- und Beratungsqua­
lität sowie innovativer Technologien an der deutschen Digitalfunkumstellung
partizipieren.
The enormous efforts that CeoTronics had to make in the
financial year 2009 / 10 and in the first quarter of 2010 / 11
have paid off, according to Chairman Thomas H. Günther.

Lufthansa LEOS setzt auf CT-DECT GateCom
Für den Standort Flughafen Düsseldorf bestellte das Unternehmen Lufthansa
LEOS umfangreiches Kommunikationsequipment für die drahtlose Flugzeug­
abfertigung: 55 kabellose Headsets vom Typ CT-DECT GateCom und 15 Ex­
emplare CT-GateCom Compact. Über dieses Funkinterface, das von Außen
mit dem Flugzeug verbunden wird, können jeweils bis zu vier Personen der
Bodencrew drahtlos und vollduplex miteinander – und natürlich auch mit dem
Piloten – kommunizieren.
Lufthansa LEOS banks on CT-DECT GateCom
Lufthansa LEOS has ordered a comprehensive range of communication
equipment for wireless aircraft handling for its location Düsseldorf airport. 55
wireless headsets of type CT-CECT GateCom and 15 CT-GateCom Compact
units. Via this radio interface, which is connected to the airplane from the
outside, up to four ground crew can be connected to one another in wireless
duplex communication – and of course, are able to communicate with the pilot
as well.
Die neuen CT-DECT GateCom Kommunikationssysteme reduzieren in Düs­
seldorf die Stand- bzw. Abfertigungszeiten erheblich. Die Kosten für das
Ground Handling sind dadurch geringer und das Arbeitsumfeld für das Bo­
denpersonal erheblich sicherer. Durch die Möglichkeit der kabellosen Kom­
munikation – auch im Schlepper – wird das Ein- und Aussteigen sowie der
vorgeschriebene Rundgang um das Flugzeug um ein vielfaches erleichtert.
Im unmittelbaren Arbeitsbereich wird das Stolperrisiko rund um das Flugzeug
minimiert.
CT-DECT GateCom communication systems are now also greatly reducing

For customers the name CeoTronics is synonymous with innovative, top-quality products. And yet it is our employees, who, through their work for the
company - frequently for many years – safeguard the consistent quality of
product development, production, sales and customer services.
Fast jeder zweite Mitarbeiter arbeitet seit mehr als 10 Jahre bei CeoTronics;
die durchschnittliche Unternehmenszugehörigkeit beträgt 10,2 Jahre (!). In
diesem Jahr feierte CeoTronics das 25jährige Bestehen; natürlich feiern ent­
sprechend „die Männer der ersten Stunde“ in diesem Geschäftsjahr ebenfalls
ein Viertel Jahrhundert CeoTronics-Zugehörigkeit.
Almost every other employee has been working for CeoTronics for over 10
years; the average employment time with the company is 10.2 years (!). This
year CeoTronics celebrates 25 years in business; and naturally, the “founding
fathers” also celebrate a quarter century of CeoTronics loyalty in this 25th
year of business.
Berthold Hemer, Karl Heinz Gruber, Günther Thoma, Helmut Böhm waren
von Anfang an dabei. Weitere Jubilare dieses Jahr sind: Hans-Joachim Sor­
gatz, Stefan Felke und Rolf Dieter Gläsel, die alle schon seit 20 Jahren der
Firma die Treue halten. Ihr 10jähriges Jubiläum feiern dieses Jahr: Jürgen
Löbig, Werner Küch, Carsten Petersen, Martin Adamczyk, Carsten Dingel,
Barbara Hildebrandt, Veronique Gola, Frauke Seeling, Sabine Gärtner, Stef­

Matthias Löw neuer Aufsichtsratsvorsitzender bei der CeoTronics AG
Seit 1. September 2010 ist Matthias Löw (55) neu­
er Aufsichtsratsvorsitzender der CeoTronics AG.
Der gelernte Bankkaufmann aus Rodgau über­
nimmt das Amt von Hans-Dieter Günther, der den
Posten aus gesundheitlichen Gründen abgegeben
hat. Matthias Löw ist schon seit nunmehr fast
drei Jahren Ersatzmitglied im Aufsichtsrat von
CeoTronics. Matthias Löw ist verheiratet und Va­
ter zweier Kinder. Er kennt das innovative und
dynamische Unternehmen aus Rödermark seit
Ende der achtziger Jahre. Den Börsengang der
CeoTronics AG 1998 hat er in leitender Funktion
bei der Bayrischen Vereinsbank aktiv begleitet.
Im Finanzkundengeschäft ist er seit mehr als 25
Jahren tätig; derzeit als geschäftsführender Ge­
sellschafter des Finanzdienstleistungsinstituts
Rhein-Main-Factoring AG. In unterschiedlichen Aufsichtsgremien ist Löw seit
mehr als 10 Jahren aktiv und daher mit der Aufgabenstellung eines Aufsichts­
rates sehr gut vertraut.
Matthias Löw - New Chairman of the
Supervisory Board at CeoTronics AG
On September 1st 2010 Matthias Löw (55) was
appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board
at CeoTronics AG. The trained banker from
Rodgau takes over this position from HansDieter Günther, who gave up this post on health
grounds. Matthias Löw has been a deputy member of the supervisory board of CeoTronics for
almost three years. He is married with two
children. Matthias Löw has known the innovative
and dynamic company from Rödermark near
Frankfurt a.M. since the end of the 1980s. Holding a leading position with the Bayrische Vereinsbank he accompanied CeoTronics flotation
on the stock market in 1998. He has been employed in the financial client service sector for
over 25 years and is currently the managing
director of the financial services institution Rhein-Main-Factoring AG. Löw
has been active in different supervisory bodies for more than a decade now,
and is therefore well-acquainted with the responsibilities of a supervisory
board.

F & E-Tag bei CeoTronics – Wissen aus erster Hand
Da informierte Mitarbeiter noch bessere Mitarbeiter für das Unternehmen
sind, initiierte der Vorstandsvorsitzende, Thomas H. Günther, den ersten
F & E-Tag der CeoTronics AG. Einen kompletten Tag investierte die Abteilung
Forschung und Entwicklung und informierte die CeoTronics-Mitarbeiter ande­
rer Abteilungen in Vorträgen sowie Hands-On-Workshops über neue Techno­
logien, neue Produkte, aber auch zu allgemeinen Themen aus dem Bereich
Funktechnologie oder Gehörschutz. In kleinen Gruppen wurde den Kollegin­
nen und Kollegen die Chance gegeben, sich noch besser mit den Technolo­
gien und Produkten ihres Unternehmens vertraut zu machen: Verschiedene
Workshops erläuterten anschaulich die Grundlagen und Unterschiede von
Funk-, DECT- oder Bluetooth-Technologie. In einer anderen Veranstaltung
wurden den interessierten Zuhörern die Funktionsweise und Möglichkeiten
des CeoTronics-Akustiklabors demonstriert: wie hören sich CeoTronics-Hör- /
Sprechsysteme bei startenden Jets / Helikoptern oder zum Beispiel im Berliner
Olympiastadion an – nahezu jedes Szenario lässt sich akustisch simulieren.
In anderen Workshop konnten die neuesten Produkte wie das CT-ClipCom
Digital oder CT-WireCom Digital nach ausführlichen Erklärungen von allen
Teilnehmern im Eigenversuch „getestet“ werden. „Wir sind begeistert über
den Zuspruch, den das Angebot bei den Kollegen gefunden hat. Mehr als 50
Mitarbeiter haben die Gelegenheit genutzt, noch mehr über die F & E und die
Technologien der neuen Produkte von CeoTronics zu erfahren. Einen F & ETag 2011 ist bereits fest eingeplant“, kommentiert der Leiter Entwicklung,
Herr Martin Adamczyk, den Erfolg der Veranstaltung.
R & D day at CeoTronics – Knowledge straight from the horse’s
mouth
Since well-informed employees are even better employees for any company,
Chairman Thomas H. Günther initiated the first R & D day at CeoTronics AG.
The research & development department invested a whole day to inform CeoTronics employees working in other departments by way of lectures and
hands-on workshops about new technologies, new products, but also about
general topics in the area of radio technology or hearing protection. In small
groups colleagues from all departments were given the opportunity to get to
know the company’s technologies and products even better: different workshops clearly demonstrated the principles and differences of radio, DECT or
Bluetooth technology. Another event showed an interested audience how the
CeoTronics acoustics laboratory operates and what possibilities it offers: How
do CeoTronics send /receive systems sound when jets or helicopters take off
or how for example, do they sound in the Olympic Stadium of Berlin – almost
any scenario can be simulated acoustically. Other workshops allowed participants to try out and test the latest products themselves, including for example
the CT-ClipCom Digital or CT-WireCom Digital, after having been given detailed explanations. “We are really pleased about the good feedback we received about the day from our colleagues. More than 50 colleagues took up
this opportunity to learn more about R & D and the technologies used in the
latest products from CeoTronics. An R & D Day 2011 has already been scheduled”, says Martin Adamczyk, Head of R & D, celebrating the success of the
event.

Die Software-Experten von CeoTronics haben die Software
des CT-BluetoothAdapters noch weiter optimiert, um ihn
noch besser auf die typischen Einsatzszenarien abzustimmen.
Es ist nun möglich, dass sich die Belegung einer
Taste automatisch selbständig verän­
dert. Dies richtet sich danach, wel­
che Netzqualität der CT-Bluetooth
Adapter von außen her wahrnimmt.
So wird zum Beispiel dem Knopf zur
Mikrofon-Tastung bei einer Ge­
sprächsunterbrechung, z. B. durch
ein Funkloch, automatisch mit der
Funktion „Wahlwiederholung“ belegt.
Nach dem erneuten Aufbau einer Ge­
sprächsverbindung erhält er automa­
tisch seine vorherige Funktion zur Mik­
rofon-Tastung
zurück.
Mit
dem
CT-BluetoothAdapter können die meisten
CeoTronics-Hör- / Sprechsysteme
mit
12-Pin-Adapter an Mobiltelefonen genutzt
werden, die den Bluetooth-Standard unterstützen;
ebenso natürlich auch mit allen Digitalfunkgeräten, die eine BluetoothUnterstützung anbieten, und die PTT-Funktion über diese Schnittstelle ge­
währleisten.
The software experts of CeoTronics have further optimised the CTBluetoothAdapter so that it can be tuned to suit the typical operation scenarios even better. It is now possible that
the assignment of a button changes automatically and independently. It is dependent
on the network quality that the CTBlue­toothAdapter receives from the
outside. The button for the microphone function, for example, is automatically accorded
the function of “redial” if there
is an interruption in the communication, caused by a signal
failure for instance. After establishing a new call connection it
automatically regains its original function as the microphone
button. With the CT-BluetoothAdapter most of the CeoTronics send / receive systems with 12-Pin-Adapter can be used with
mobile phones that are Bluetooth supported; and of course also with
all digital radio units that have Bluetooth support and which ensure
the PTT function via this interface.

CT-Induktionssysteme jetzt auch mit CT-FunkPTT
Der Klassiker in der sogenannten diskreten Kommunikation sind Induktions­
systeme zum Anschluss an Funkgeräte. In der Grundkonfigura­
tion besteht ein solches System aus einem drahtlosen
Induktionsempfänger, der unauffällig im Ohr ge­
tragen wird, einer Induktionsspule, einer ka­
belgebundenen Sendetaste und einem
Mikrofon. Zum Einsatz kommen diese
zum Beispiel in der verdeckten Ermitt­
lungsarbeit der Polizei.
Ab sofort können die Ermittler ihr Funk­
gerät auch drahtlos aktivieren, denn die
Induktionssysteme von CeoTronics gibt
es nun auch mit einer drahtlosen Sen­
detaste (PTT=push to talk). Die neue
Induktionsadaptereinheit zum Anste­
cken von Induktionsspule und Mikrofon /
Sendetaste beinhaltet zusätzlich einen
Empfänger für die sogenannte CT-FunkPTT, über die das angeschlossene Funk­
gerät zu jeder Zeit unauffällig / kabellos ak­
tiviert werden kann.
An die neue Induktionsadaptereinheit kann auch
das bei den Ermittlern beliebte CeoTronics All-InOne-System angeschlossen werden. Bei diesem
System werden Mikrofon und Sendetaste, die ein
Bauteil bilden, an einer Induktionsspule um den Hals getragen.
Der neue Induktionsadapter wird durch das Funkgerät mit Strom versorgt und

A classic in socalled semi-covert communication are induction systems to
be connected with two-way radios. In its basic configuration such a system consists of a wireless induction
receiver that is worn inconspicuously inside the
ear, an induction coil, a cable-connected send
button and a microphone. These examples are
used by the police in covert investigative work.
From now on investigating officers can also activate their two-way radio wirelessly, because
the induction systems from CeoTronics are now
available with a wireless send button (PTT=
push to talk). The new induction adapter unit for
the connection of induction coil and microphone/
send button also consists of an additional receiver
for the so-called CT-Funk-PTT, via which the connected two-way radio can be wirelessly and inconspicuously activated at any time.
The CeoTronics All-In-One-System, popular with investigators, can also be connected to the new induction adapter unit.
In this system microphone and send button, which form one building element, are worn around the neck on an induction coil.
The new induction adapter is powered via the two-way radio and features
another PTT at the connection housing; in case of emergencies. Through intelligent software the adapter can be accorded with a variety of transmitting
modes. An LED light at the housing gives visual feedback during programming.

Bureau (LKA) when testing the
impact of ammunition. Hence
the “forensics units, department firearms” of the LKA Schleswig-Holstein,

CT-WireCom goes „Digital“
Wenn das oberste Gebot eine sichere Kommunikation und die ständige Er­
reichbarkeit aller Teilnehmer ist, dann gibt es zu drahtgebundenen Kommuni­
kationssystemenen kaum eine Alternative. Mit CT-DECT WireCom Digital hat
bei CeoTronics jetzt auch bei den drahtgebundenen Kommunikationssyste­
men das „Digitalzeitalter“ begonnen. Durch den Einsatz von Digitaltechnolo­
gie ist es nun für die einzelnen Teilnehmer nicht mehr notwendig, die Laut­
stärke nach zu justieren, wenn sich weitere Benutzer an die Anlage
anschließen; dies geschieht nun vollautomatisch gesteuert von einem Pro­
zessor. Die Anlage ermöglicht für bis zu 20 Teilnehmer eine ständige Gegen­
sprechverbindung mit hoher Sprachübertragungsqualität bei bis zu ca. 110
dB (A) Umgebungs­lärm. Da alle Headsets über CT-DNR (Digital Noise Reduc­
tion) verfügen, werden Störgeräusche digital unterdrückt.
Traditionell kommen CT-WireCom-Systeme zum Einsatz vor allem in
Kraftwerken und Gleisbauzügen in denen nun sukzessive die ana­
logen gegen digitale Headsets ausgetauscht werden.
CT-DECT-Integration ebenfalls möglich
Zusätzlich gibt es die Möglichkeit, bei Bedarf auch mobi­
le Teilnehmer in den CT-WireCom Digital-Kommunika­
tionskreis einzubinden. In vielen Gleisbauzügen wer­
den bereits schon heute spezielle CT-DECT Multis an
die bestehenden CT-WireCom-Anlagen einfach per
Stecker angeschlossen. So ist es ohne weiteren Auf­
wand möglich pro angeschlossenem CT-DECT Multi
je vier mobile Teilnehmer in den Voll-Duplex-Kommu­
nikationskreis einzubinden. Die CT-DECT-Integration
bedeutet für das Hybrid-System (kabelgebunden / kabel­
los) erhöhte Flexibilität im Arbeitsablauf durch die mobilen
Teilnehmer – auch bei CT-WireCom Digital.
CT-WireCom goes “Digital”
If the top priority is reliable communication and being able to always reach all
participants, then there is hardly an alternative to wired communication systems. With CT-DECT WireCom Digital wired communication systems have
now also entered the “digital age” at CeoTronics. Through the use of digital
technology it is now no longer necessary for individual users to readjust the
volume when other users connect to the system; this now happens fully automated, controlled by a processor. The device allows up to 20 users to stay in
constant reciprocal communication connection with high voice transmission
quality at up to about 110 dB (A) ambient noise. As all headsets have CTDNR (Digital Noise Reduction), background noise is digitally suppressed.
Traditionally, CT-WireCom systems have been used mainly in power plants
and in track-laying trains where analogue headsets are now successively
being replaced by digital headsets.
CT-DECT-Integration also possible
In addition there is also the possibility to include mobile
users into the CT-WireCom digital communication circle, if need be. Today it is already possible to connect
special CT-DECT Multis in many track-laying trains
simply by plugging into the existing CT-WireCom. It
is for example possible, without further costs, to include four mobile users each into the full duplex
communication circle per connected CT-DECT Multi.
For the hybrid system (wired / wireless) the CT-DECT
integration means increased flexibility in the work flow
through mobile users – even with CT-WireCom Digital.

Polizei in Bremen bestellt CT-Systeme für Digitalfunkgeräte
289 CeoTronics-SemiCovertCom für die halbverdeckte Trageweise beschaff­
te die Polizei Bremen für deren neue Sepura-Digitalfunkgeräte. Nach „Be­
musterung“ und intensiven Tests von Produkten unterschiedlicher Hersteller
entschied sich die Polizei der Hansestadt für CeoTronics. An die ansteckbare
Mikrofon / Sendetastenkombination können über einen verriegelbaren An­
schluss wahlweise ein Walkman-Hörer oder ein In-Ear-Ohrhörer angeschlos­
sen werden. Zusätzlich zur PTT am Mikrofon sind die Systeme mit einer ab­
gesetzten kabelgebundenen Folien-PTT ausgestattet.
Bremen’s police orders CT systems for digital two-way radios
The police force in Bremen ordered 289 CeoTronics-SemiCovertCom to be
worn semi-covertly for their new Sepura digital two-way radios. After “sampling” and intensive testing of products by different manufacturers the hanseatic police force opted for CeoTronics. To the clip-on microphone/PTT combination it is possible to connect, via a lockable connection, optionally a
walkman earphone or an in-ear ear bud. In addition to the PTT at the microphone the systems are equipped with a remote wired foil PTT.

Bevor ein Fahrzeug in Serie geht, muss er „auf
Herz und Nieren“ getestet werden. Entsprechen­
de Erprobungen verlangen es aber, dass die
Fahrzeugtanks der PKW während der laufenden
Tests mit Kraftstoff befüllt werden. Dies bedeutet ExZone im Nahbereich des Einfüllstutzens, also Explosionsge­
fahr für die Beteiligten. Da Funk-Kommunikation in ei­
nem solch explosionsgefährdeten Lärmbereich nicht
mit handelsüblichen Hör- / Sprechsystemen erlaubt
ist, wandte sich BMW an CeoTronics: Als einziger
Hersteller weltweit bietet CeoTronics ein Digitalfunk­
gerät, integriert in ein CT-HeavyDutyNoise-Head­
set, in explosionsgeschützter (eigensicherer) Aus­
führung “ATEX”. Das Headset ermöglicht digitale

Das CT-DECT Headset ATEX ist als eigensicheres Betriebsmittel gemäß den
europäischen Normen EN 60079-0:2000 und EN 60079-11:2007 ausgeführt
und entspricht der Schutzstufe II 2 G Ex ib IIB T4. Es besteht zum Großteil
aus nicht leitfähigem Kunststoff und ist konstruktiv so gestaltet, dass bei be­
stimmungsgemäßem Gebrauch (Gasgruppe IIB) keine unzulässige elektro­

Prior to an vehicle entering serial production it will first
be put through an “acid test”. The corresponding tests
require, however, that the fuel tanks of the cars are being
filled up with fuel while the tests are running. This means
hazardous zone in the vicinity of the filler neck, thus danger of
explosion for the involved. As radio communication with general-purpose send / receive systems is not permitted in such a
noisy environment under high-risk of explosion, BMW
contacted CeoTronics. As the only manufacturer globally, CeoTronics offers a digital two-way radio, integrated in a CT-HeavyDutyNoise-Headset, in explosionproof (intrinsically) “ATEX” design. The headset enables
digital full duplex communication for up to 5 mobile
users in explosive noisy environments.
Working more efficiently as a result of “hands-free”
communication
CT-DECT in ATEX is the ideal route to ensure reliable communication during engine test runs; the communication systems are
ATEX certified and importantly, everyone has both hands free to carry out
their actual work at any time, as in full duplex communication systems there
is never a talk button to be pressed. Engine testers at BMW’s Bavarian site in
Aschheim ordered CT-DECT Headsets ATEX for the “filling attendants” and a
light CT-Neckband Headset for the person at controls, a noise-free environment. This person is also permanently integrated in the duplex communication circle via a CT-DECT Multi, which s/he wears on the belt.
The CT-DECT Headset ATEX is designed as an intrinsically safe device in
accordance with the standards of EN 60079-0:2000 and EN 60079-11:2007
and fulfils protection class II 2 G Ex ib IIB T4. For the majority it is made of
non-conductive plastic and the construction is designed so that no inadmissible
electrostatic charging can take place when used as intended (gas group IIB).

Nach einer ersten Order im September 2010 bekam
CeoTronics jetzt erneut einen Auftrag der Deutschen
Bundeswehr u. a. für spezielle Im-Ohr-Produkte im
Wert von ca. € 3,3 Mio. Bei diesem neuen Auftrag han­
delt es sich um den zweitgrößten Einzelauftrag seit
Gründung des Unternehmens.
Ein Grund, warum CeoTronics den Zuschlag erhielt, war
das CT-EarGuard System. Das mobile SchalldämmMesssystem zur Qualitätssicherung von individuellen
Ohrpassteilen ermöglicht die schnelle, mobile und zerti­
fizierte Kontrolle aller Im-Ohr-Hör- / Sprechsysteme.

Die Im-Ohr-Produkte werden individuell an das Ohr des
Soldaten angepasst und gewähren auch einen optima­

Extrem schneller Messablauf – ideal für Reihenmessungen
CT-EarGuard misst in einem Arbeitsgang auf beiden Seiten des Hör- / Sprech­
systems den Schall innerhalb des Ohres und auch den Umgebungslärm.
Durch diese gleichzeitige Differenzschallmessung der linken und rechten
Otoplastik kann in der Regel die Passgenauigkeit in unter zwei Minuten über­
prüft werden. Die Zeitersparnis gegenüber anderen gebräuchlichen Messme­
thoden ist enorm: In der Zeit einer sogenannten subjektiven Messung können
zehn (!) CT-EarGuard-Messungen durchgeführt werden. Das macht das Sys­
tem wie geschaffen für die Überprüfung von einer großen Anzahl von Oto­
plastiken wie z. B. bei Soldaten oder großen Belegschaften in Industrieunter­
nehmen.
Einfache und schnelle Datenverwaltung
Die Datenverwaltung von CT-EarGuard wurde mit dem Ziel einer schnellen,
einfachen und sicheren Eingabe von Daten entwickelt. Bereits gemessene
Otoplastiken, können per Barcode-Scanner oder sogar über integrierte RFIDChips in den Otoplastiken automatisch eingelesen werden.
Interaktive Echtzeitmessung
Das System verfügt über verschiedene grafische Anzeigeelemente, die
Schalldämmung und Eingangspegel in Echtzeit während der Messung anzei­
gen. Diese Rückmeldung der momentanen Dämmwerte erhöht die Messzu­
verlässigkeit und unterbindet Fehler; Messwiederholungen werden somit un­
nötig.
Modularer Aufbau und offene Schnittstellen
Die Hardware und auch die Software von CT-EarGuard sind modular und
offen aufgebaut. Alle Messsystemparameter und auch der komplette Signal­
fluss im Messsystem können eingesehen und auch geändert werden. Alle
Messdaten können problemlos in andere Programme exportiert und dort wei­
terverarbeitet werden. Das System ist sogar durch seine öffentliche Program­
mierschnittstelle durch andere Programme steuerbar. Außerdem können alle
Daten jederzeit ausgetauscht werden, so dass Änderungen und Erweiterun­
gen des Systems jederzeit möglich sind.
Mit CT-EarGuard haben die Kunden von CeoTronics von nun an die Möglich­
keit, die Gehörschutzwirkung ihrer Hör- / Sprechsysteme schnell, unkompli­
ziert und zertifiziert prüfen zu lassen. Sollten Undichtigkeiten festgestellt wer­
den, wird sofort Abhilfe geschaffen. „Nun können wir unseren Kunden das
gute Gefühl vermitteln, dass der Grund Ihrer Investition in CeoTronics-Pro­
dukte, der Schutz des Gehörs ihrer Mitarbeiter, zu jeder Zeit und innerhalb
von Minuten überprüfbar ist“, kommentiert Dr.-Ing. Björn Schölling, Entwickler

CT-EarGuard: Just to be on the safe side.
Following an initial order in September 2010 CeoTronics
has now received another order from the German Armed Forces for special in-ear products, amongst others.
The order volume amounts to approx. € 3.3 million. This
order is the second largest single order the company
has ever received.
One reason why CeoTronics was awarded the deal,
was its CT-EarGuard system. The mobile sound-attenuation measuring system to assure quality of individual
ear adapters enables the fast, mobile and certified control of all in-ear send/receive systems.
The service portfolio is becoming ever more
important
The in-ear products are individually moulded to fit the
ear of the soldier and also provide optimal noise protection. “The control of tightness required by the German
Armed Forces is tested on each individual soldier with
the CT-EarGuard system, specially developed by
CeoTronics for this purpose, and the results are then
recorded”, explains Deputy Chairman Berthold Hemer.
Seen from one angle, the service „around communication accessories and two-way radio systems” is steadily
developing into an interesting revenue driver.

With CT-EarGuard, a mobile sound-attenuation measuring system for quality
assurance of individual ear adapters, CeoTronics is opening up a completely
new market segment. At the same time, the company provides customers
with practical added value for their investment with this self-development.
Checking the accuracy of fit of individual ear adapters
Within minutes the CT-EarGuard can check whether or not the expected protective effect of an send / receive system from ambient noise is definitely
achieved. The novel measuring system follows the recommendations of workers’ compensation boards, which have issued a guideline calling for regular
inspections – not just after delivery – but also at one to two-year intervals. The
CT-EarGuard System was designed for mobile application in the field and
enables with a user-friendly software interface a simple and quick measuring
of noise attenuation in individual ear moulds.
Extremely rapid measuring procedure – ideal for serial measuring
In one step CT-EarGuard measures sound of the send / receive system on
both sides simultaneously, inside the ear, and also measures ambient noise.
By way of this simultaneous differential sound measuring of both the left and
right ear mould it is generally possible to check the accuracy of fit in less than
two minutes. The time saved compared with other standard measuring methods is enormous: In the time span of a so-called subjective measurement
ten (!) CT-EarGuard measurements can be performed. This makes the system just right for checking a large number of ear moulds, as is the case with
soldiers or large workforces of industrial corporations.
Quick and simple data management
The data management of CT-EarGuard was developed with the aim of a fast,
simple and safe entry of data in mind. Data of already measured ear moulds
can automatically be entered via barcode scanner or even via RFID chips
integrated in the ear moulds.
Interactive real-time measuring
The system consists of various graphic display elements that show noise attenuation and input level in real time during measuring. This feedback signal
of the momentary insulation levels increases measurement reliability and prevents mistakes; measurement repetitions are becoming obsolete.
Modular structure and open interfaces
Both hardware and software of CT-EarGuard are built to be modular and
open. All measuring system parameters and also the complete signal flow of
the measuring system can be accessed and changed. All measuring data can
be exported to other programmes with ease and can be processed there. The
system can even be controlled by other programmes because of its public
programming interface. Furthermore, all data can be exchanged at any time,
so that alterations and expansions to the system are possible at all times.
With CT-EarGuard customers of CeoTronics now have the opportunity to
have the hearing protection of their send/receive systems tested in a fast,
uncomplicated and approved manner. Should sound leaks be detected, help
is at hand immediately. “We can now give our customers the security that the

kroatische Öl-Raffinerie
Die kroatische INA OIL, ein Tochterunternehmen des großen Europäischen
Öl-Produzenten MOL hat seine Raffinerie in Kostrena mit einem neuen Kom­
munikations-Netzwerk auf Basis von CT-DECT in Verbindung mit Glasfaser­
kabeln ausgestattet. Dieses Netzwerk bietet eine höhere Anzahl von Kanälen
und die Antwort- / Reaktionszeiten sind enorm verkürzt worden. Die Arbeiter
haben besseren Gehörschutz und die allgemeine Arbeitssicherheit in der An­
lage ist gestiegen – und all das bei weit geringeren Kosten als zuvor.
Das neue CT-DECT System spannt ein Kommunikationsnetz über bestehen­
de und die in Erweiterung befindlichen Produktionsanlagen der Raffinerie.

station, sodass alle Mitarbeiter im Haupt-Kontrollzentrum des weitläufigen
Industriekomplexes stets die gesamte Kommunikation der Vorarbeiter in den
einzelnen entfernt liegenden Produktionsstätten mitbekommen. Sie können
sich, mit oder ohne das Tragen eines eigenen Hör- / Sprechsystems, zu jeder
Zeit auf Knopfdruck oder per Lautsprecher in die Gespräche einschalten.
Die einzelnen Produktionsanlagen sind über ein Glasfaserkabel mit dem
Kontrollraum verbunden. In der unmittelbaren Nähe jeder Produktionsanlage
ist ein wetterfestes CT-DECT Case permanent installiert. Bis zu acht Arbeiter
können dort vor Ort miteinander und – automatisch via Glasfaser – mit dem
entfernten Kontrollraum vollduplex kommunizieren. Die Arbeiter außerhalb
des Kontrollraums sind mit CT-DECT ATEX-Headsets ausgestattet. Trotz er­
höhter Explosionsgefahr im gesamten Komplex können sie zu jeder Zeit ge­
fahrlos per Funk kommunizieren. Zusätzlich ist eine GMS-ATEX-Schnittstelle
in das Netzwerk integriert. Diese arbeitet synchron mit den CT-DECT-Basis­
stationen. Mit nur einem Tastendruck kann der Operator nun auch jederzeit
die Menschen erreichen, die sich vorübergehend nicht im Ex-Bereich aufhal­
ten, und daher kein CT-DECT ATEX Headsets tragen. So können nun alle
Mitarbeiter über ihr ATEX-GSM-Handy in den Niedriglärm-Bereichen der An­
lage einfach erreicht werden. Dies stellt zugleich sicher, dass alle Mitarbeiter,
egal, wo sie gerade sind, simultan für die Mannschaft im Kontrollraum er­
reichbar sind. Wegen der permanenten Duplex-Kommunikationsmöglichkeit
können alle Teilnehmer des DECT-Funknetzes jederzeit simultan angespro­
chen werden. Dies ermöglicht, gerade in Notsituationen, eine extrem schnelle
Reaktion der Belegschaft.
Die Verantwortlichen im Hauptkontrollraum sind mit extra leichten CT-Neckband
Headsets ausgestattet. Über das mit dem Headset verbundene CT-DECT
Multi sind sie permanent drahtlos in das Kommunikationsnetzwerk integriert.
Dies gibt ihnen komplette Bewegungsfreiheit: sie können jederzeit ihren
Schreibtisch verlassen, um im Serverraum, z. B. Parameter für bestimmte
Produktionsprozesse zu verändern; weiterhin haben sie stets eine perma­
nente Kommunikationsverbindung zu den Arbeitern in der Produktionsanlage
und auch zu ihren Kollegen im Kontrollraum.
Mit dieser fortschrittlichen CT-DECT basierten Anlage von CeoTronics, konnte
INA Oil, allein durch die Art wie die Menschen miteinander kommunizieren,
die Arbeitssicherheit in und um die Anlage herum deutlich steigern.

CT-DECT in ATEX & Fiber Optic Communication Network for
croatian Oil Refinery
The croatian Company INA OIL, part of Europe’s well known oil producer
MOL has equipped its plant Kostrena with a new and sophisticated communication network based on CT-DECT Systems combined with fiber optic cables.
The new network offers more flexibility, a much higher number of communication channels, better response time, better noise protection and higher level of security all working people – and all that for much lower costs.
The new CT-DECT System spans a communication network over the existing
plant but also reaching the planned expansions of the refinery. The CeoTronics
sales partner in Croatia Audio Video Trend d.o.o., modified a CT-DECT Desk Station that way, that operators in main control room can hear the complete communication between field operators, and participate in communication using
the PTT push button and the loudspeaker – with and without using a headset.
From there a CT-DECT Conference is connected via fiber optic cables to four
remote CT-DECT Cases. Each of them allows up to 8 professional workers
around interfaces to have a digital full duplex communication amongst each
other and also to the main operator room. All workers outside the control
room are equipped with CT-DECT ATEX Headsets which allow them to communicate at any time: During noise and even in all areas where ATEX equip-
ment is required. Additionally a GMS-ATEX interface is also integrated to
work synchronised with the CT DECT base stations. With one push programmed buttons the operator can simply reach people who are temporarily not in
the field where are needed ATEX DECT headsets. From then on all can use
ATEX certified GSM cell phones in the low / non-noise ATEX areas. This ensures that the people in the control room can contact all people in the plant at
any time and simultaneously. Due to the permanent duplex communication of
the DECT-Network there is no need to make several calls to reach everybody
working in the refinery. Operators are now controlling the situation in each
plant at the same time!
Operators in the main control room wear ultra light CT-Neckband Headsets.
Through their belt worn CT-DECT Multis’ they are always wirelessly connected to the communication network. That gives them complete freedom to
move. They can leave their desk at any time and go to server room to adjust
any parameters for a certain operating field still having full duplex communication with person on the field and also the other operators.
With this advanced CT-DECT-based system from CeoTronics, INA Oil could
significantly increase the work safety in and around the plant, just by the way
the people communicate with each other.

Polizei in Sachsen-Anhalt nutzt CT-FunkPTT
CeoTronics erhielt von einer Polizeieinheit aus den neuen Bundes­
ländern eine Bestellung von mehr als 130 CT-CovertAdapter mit
entsprechenden Adapterkabeln. Mit dieser Anschaffung können die
bereits eingesetzten CT-All-In-One-Garnituren jetzt auch drahtlos
über eine Funk-PTT aktiviert werden.
CeoTronics Zubehör für Kenwood ATEX-Funkgeräte
In Kooperation mit Kenwood hat CeoTronics nun sein Produktportfolio um
ATEX zugelassenes Audiozubehör für die Kenwood ATEX Funkgeräte
TK-2260EX und TK-3260EX erweitert. Das Zubehör ist für alle Anforde­
rungen wie z. B. extremen Lärm oder für Anwendungen in Verbindung
mit Helmen oder Schutzanzügen ausgelegt. Es entspricht in der Regel
der Schutzklasse II 2 G Ex ib IIC T4.
Das ist eine richtungsweisende Form der Zusammenarbeit zwischen
Funkgeräte-Herstellern und Audiozubehör-Industrie, welche die große
Flexibilität beider Unternehmen im Bezug auf Marktbedürfnisse unter­
streicht.
Die Auswahl von CeoTronics als Kooperationspartner kam nicht von un­
gefähr, denn kein anderer Hersteller bietet eine derart breite Pa­
lette an ATEX-zertifiziertem Funkgerätezubehör an: HighNoi­
se-Headsets mit Sprechtasten (PTT) für den Einsatz in
extremen Lärmumgebungen, Schädeldeckenmikrofone- so­
wie Kehlkopfmikrofonsysteme für den Einsatz in Verbin­

Police in Saxony-Anhalt uses CT-FunkPTT
CeoTronics received an order for over 130 CT-CovertAdapters with corresponding adapter cables from one of the police units in the new
German federal states. With this acquisition the CT-All-In-One sets
already in use can now also be activated wirelessly via a two-way
radio PTT.

has now expanded its product portfolio
with an ATEX-certified accessory for the
Kenwood ATEX radios TK-2260EX and
TK-3260EX. The accessory is designed to
fulfil all requirements such as extreme noise or use in conjunction with helmets or protective gear. It meets regulations of protection category II 2 G Ex
ib IIC T4.
This is an example of innovative cooperation between a radio transceiver
manufacturer and the audio equipment industry that underlines the great flexibility of both companies with regards to market requirements.
The choice of CeoTronics as cooperation partner did not come out of the blue
- no other manufacturer offers such a broad range of ATEX-certified radio
transceiver accessories: HighNoise-Headsets with send buttons (PTT) for
application in extremely noisy environments, skullcap and throat microphone
systems for use in connection with respirator masks or full-body protection
suits, communication systems for different fire brigade helmets and helmetindependent in-ear communication systems such as CT-ClipCom etc.
CeoTronics had its quality management system additionally certified to comply
with ATEX regulation 94 / 9 / EC as early as 2002. This accounts for CeoTronics
extreme flexibility as a producer of ATEX send / receive systems for connection to two-way radios.

gendfarm, werden Bestandteil einer schattenspendenden Streuobstwiese
sein, wie sie schon seit langer Zeit für das Frankfurter Umland typisch ist.

Local commitment is a priority
As part of its membership in the Business Forum Rödermark (UFR) CeoTronics AG is engaged in local activities in the immediate
vicinity of the company’s headquarters, thus demonstrating its social responsibility on the ground. The company accepts its social obligation, thereby making
a contribution to the development and success of the city and region. With the
help of 24 members, the Business Forum Rödermark (UFR) has been able to
collect approx. € 13,600 in donations for charitable causes since its formation in
2007. One example where this meant help was at hand quickly and without
bureaucracy, happened in 2010 when the “Play Mobile” of the town’s youth
welfare fell victim to an arson attack. With donations and also by finding a suitable “new or second-hand” mobile home, CeoTronics and the UFR provided
spontaneous help. Also other sponsoring organizations of day nurseries / schools
were supported.
This year CeoTronics sponsored the planting of two new apple trees. This
sponsorship is part of CeoTronics support for the Kinder- und Jugendfarm
Rödermark e.V. [Children and Youth Farm].This farm in Rödermark is a place
where children and teenagers can meet to explore nature, while being under
safe supervision.Part of the facility’s innovative concept is the caring handling
of plants and animals, their nurturing and the responsible handling of wood
and fire. Other activities include arts and crafts, theatre productions, music,
excursions and campfires, to name but a few. The two apple trees from CeoTronics on the children and youth farm grounds will be part of a shady orchard, so typical for the area around Frankfurt.

Im Rahmen ihrer Mitgliedschaft im Unternehmerforum Rödermark (UFR) en­
gagiert sich die CeoTronics AG im unmittelbaren Umfeld des Unternehmens­
standorts und zeigt so soziale Verantwortung vor Ort. Das Unternehmen
nimmt seine gesellschaftliche Verpflichtung an und leistet so seinen Beitrag

Eyes” for example, is capable – by making use of
intelligent software – to stabilise shaky video pictures, ideal if the cameras of CT-Video GmbH have
been fitted inside vehicles.Other products from
Ovation enable special types of encryption, conversion, compression, multiplexing or storing of video
data. “The video solutions from Ovation are a welcome extension for our product range and add
further unique selling points to the range. This way

Deutsche Behörde mit CT-Video-Systemlösungen
Um seine hoheitlichen Aufgaben in Zukunft noch erfolgreicher
durchführen zu können, bestellten Einheiten einer deutschen
Behörde (BOS = Behörden und Organisationen mit Sicher­
heitsaufgaben) bei der CeoTronics-Tochter CT-Video GmbH
eine große Anzahl von Spezial-Video-Kameras und Funk­
übertragungssysteme für spezielle Überwachungs-/Beweis­
sicherungseinsätze.
Die Systeme mit einem Gesamtwert von über € 400.000 um­
fassen neben CT-Kamera-Technik auch Digitale Sende- und
Empfangskoffer mit CT-DCOM-Technologie. Ergänzt werden
diese Komponenten durch eine große Anzahl von Verstär­
kern, Akku-Koffern sowie Bedieneinheiten.
German authorities use CT-Video system solution
So as to be able to fulfil their sovereign functions in future with even
greater success, some German authority departments (BOS = authorities and organisations responsible for safety) ordered a large number of special video cameras and radio transmission systems for
special surveillance operations/evidence protection operations from
CeoTronics’ subsidiary CT-Video GmbH.
The systems’ total worth is € 400,000 and includes, besides CT camera technology, also digital transmission units with CT-DCOM technology. These components are complemented by a large number of
amplifiers, battery charger packs and control units.
