INTRODUCTION This document includes the essential framework and guidelines for work experience placements/internships for Wels Campus. It is a guide for all persons involved. The implementation of the contents of these guidelines is the responsibility of the Directors of Studies. The work placement/internship is a practical training period working in a company or other equivalent organisation related to the future career field of the student. It takes place at the end of the Bachelor’s degree in the sixth/final semester. The work placement/internship is project-based work in the respective disciplines with special emphasis on interdisciplinary tasks. 2. PURPOSE AND TRAINING TARGET The placement/internship complements and enhances the course of study by students working on and solving real problems, usually in the context of a project, in a relevant operational environment. The educational content is the project-based work in the respective disciplines with special emphasis on interdisciplinary tasks in the fields of business economics/management and project management. The professional training may focus on other areas also, depending on the degree programme. The placement/internship develops the professional, personal and social skills of students and forms the basis for the second Bachelor’s thesis (Bachelor Paper II) 3. PROCEDURE 3.1 Determination of topic The degree programmes of Wels Campus assist students in finding placements/internships and offer some themselves in the form of internal R&D projects. Students are entitled to propose an internship themselves. It is the responsibility of each degree programme to ensure that students are employed in accordance with their skill levels.
