The free PONS online dictionary (www.pons.de) has been running
since October 2008. Users can access over 12 million words and
phrases in over 13 languages and, if required, hear their
pronunciation. All users can directly contact the PONS dictionary
editorial team using the feedback function – and, if they are
interested, can also contribute to the online dictionary themselves by
adding new terms that have not yet been included on the Open
Dictionary for some of the languages. User forums, a blog and text
translations for 36 languages enable fast online help for all linguistic
questions and create close ties with users. In addition to the
translation functionality, PONS also allows users to check the
spelling of German words.
