Distanz Jahreszeit Temperaturen 1447 Meilen / 2332 Kilometer Frühling und Sommer Ø 10 - 38 Day 1: Los Angeles 0 mi / 0 km Welcome to sunny Los Angeles, and the start of your incredible journey. EagleRider encourages you to arrive at least a day or two early to shake the jet lag and to enjoy the beaches, amusement parks, or other sights of Southern California. Be sure to let us know if you need help with your hotel bookings or tickets for excursions if you arrive early. We are more than happy to help! We’ll get the group together in the hotel lobby for a quick orientation before heading out for our Welcome Reception and Dinner. Day 2: Los Angeles - Palm Springs 107 mi / 172 km Let’s ride! We kick off our adventure with a ride over three of Southern California’s most famous mountain passes; climbing to elevations of over 7,000 feet before finding ourselves in the desert oasis of Palm Springs. This golf, spa, and party town has been the desert retreat of California locals for years, and is still the place to see and be seen for the Los Angeles celebrity elite. Tonight we will stroll the streets of Downtown Palm Springs and find a couple of our favorite watering holes to enjoy a few cold drinks and some great food! Day 3: Palm Springs - Day at Leisure 0 mi / 0 km For those craving a bit of adventure, Palm Springs offers ATV tours, mountain horseback riding, amazing hiking and mountain biking, and golf. If shopping is your “bag,” you will love the hundreds of boutiques or the two nearby Outlet Centers. If logging some miles on your motorcycle is a must today, we will plan a 105 mile day ride that features two desert mountain passes; one of which has an incredible 28 mile stretch of winding mountain road. And what better way to end a long day of riding, adventure, or shopping than with a group sunset pool party! Day 4: Palm Springs to Pirates Cove 190 mi / 306 km We’ll get an early start today to give us plenty of time to enjoy the unforgettable riding and scenery that is Joshua Tree National Park. It is hard to imagine how a desert landscape dotted with rock formations can be so amazing and beautiful, so this is something you have to ride and experience to fully appreciate. After Joshua Tree National Park we will pick up a bit of Historic Route 66 before descending into the valleys of Eastern California and intersecting the path of the mighty Colorado River. Our home for the next two days is one of our favorite, Pirate Cove Resort and Marina. You will have to see it to believe it! Day 5: Pirates Cove day at leisure 0 mi / 0 km Reisebüro Menziken AG Bahnhofstrasse 7 5737 Menziken 062 765 50 60 www.rbmenziken.ch Spezialist u.a. für massgeschneiderte Traumreisen weltweit - USA / Kanada - Themenreisen (Harley, Whisky, Aviatik, Wrestling) To call this a “Free Day” is a bit of an understatement. Today will actually be filled with adventures on the shores of the Colorado. Pirate Cove is the quintessential boater’s paradise, and today we will be on the water, in the water, soaring over the water, and, well, you get the point. Choose one or all of the adventures that Pirate Cove has to offer: pontoon boating, jet skis, water skiing, 1,000 ft. motorized zip line, World Famous Palapa Bar, fishing, or just relaxing under an umbrella on the sandy beach. For those up for a ride today, we will visit two of the locations for scenes from the movie “Easy Rider” before heading down river to grab some lunch on the shores of Lake Havasu City. Tonight we will enjoy a private bonfire on the beach. Day 6: Pirates Cove to Grand Canyon 224 mi / 361 km Time to swap your flip flops for riding boots once again as we set our sights on Grand Canyon National Park. Along the way we will visit the historic Route 66 ghost town of Oatman, AZ, and then rumble alongside 100 car freight trains in the open desert before stopping in the Route 66 town of Kingman for lunch. We’ll continue our journey along Route 66 with stops to visit the Hualapai Indians in Peach Springs, and a quick shave with Angel Delgadillo in Seligman, Arizona. It won’t be long now before we finish the day sitting on the edge of the Grand Canyon in stunned silence as we watch the sunset cast a breathtaking palate of color along the canyon walls that lead to the Colorado River almost one mile below our feet. Day 7: Grand Canyon day at leisure 0 mi / 0 km How much do you want to squeeze in to one day? Well, the Grand Canyon has it all! Helicopter rides, mule rides to the bottom of the canyon, hiking, biking, and anything else you can think of. Looking for a ride today? We’ll organize a day ride to visit the 7,500 ft. elevation mountain town of Flagstaff, AZ and back; taking time to stop and enjoy the overlook of Sunset Crater and the surrounding lava fields. Be sure to let us know if you want to enjoy the helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon during your booking, as spaces fill up quickly and we want to be sure to guarantee you a spot. Day 8: Grand Canyon to Monument Valley 178 mi / 287 km Reisebüro Menziken AG Bahnhofstrasse 7 5737 Menziken 062 765 50 60 www.rbmenziken.ch Spezialist u.a. für massgeschneiderte Traumreisen weltweit - USA / Kanada - Themenreisen (Harley, Whisky, Aviatik, Wrestling) While every day on this tour is an adventure in itself, this is one day that may end up being at the top of the list in terms of sheer awe inspiring scenery and riding. We’ll kick off the day riding 18 miles of the East Rim of the Grand Canyon, stopping often to enjoy the many breathtaking vistas. By mid-afternoon we will find ourselves on a private escorted tour with the Navajo Tribe deep in the heart of Monument Valley. You have seen the photos and dreamed of this moment, but until you are sitting at a bonfire under the shadow of a 1,000 foot rock monument, with the Navajo People playing their native music in rhythmic chorus of drums, hand carved flutes, and voices; only then will you realize how magical this place really is. This is the real America, and these are her First People. Day 9: Monument Valley to Moab 150 mi / 242 km And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better…today comes along. For unbelievable scenery, mind blowing rock formations, and great riding there is no place in the West that compares to Utah. Today we enjoy some of the best that this beautiful state has to offer, as we travel from Monument Valley to Natural Bridges Monument, Canyonlands National Park, and Moab National Park. We could write this description for hours, but we will opt to simply leave this day to your imagination. Just one hint: Dream Big. Day 10: Moab day at leisure 0 mi / 0 km River rafting, guided dirt bike tours, ATV rental and tours, world-class mountain biking, jeep tours, hiking, and fishing. We hope this is enough to keep you busy for one day! Wanna ride? No problem. We’ll organize a 4 hour ride that will equal any of the activities above and still give you time to squeeze in some time to play in the dirt. Day 11: Moab to Bryce Canyon Reisebüro Menziken AG Bahnhofstrasse 7 5737 Menziken 062 765 50 60 www.rbmenziken.ch Spezialist u.a. für massgeschneiderte Traumreisen weltweit - USA / Kanada - Themenreisen (Harley, Whisky, Aviatik, Wrestling) 265 mi / 427 km At the risk of sounding redundant; get ready for another indescribable day of riding in the heart of Utah. Today’s riding and sightseeing highlights include: Arches National Park, Goblin Valley, Capitol Reef National Park, and the Grand Staircase – Escalante National Monument. Finish the day off by rumbling in to our hotel in the heart of Bryce Canyon and you might just have to pinch yourself to be sure this is all real. Tonight we watch the sunset from “Inspiration Point” in the heart of Bryce Canyon. Day 12: Bryce Canyon day at leisure 0 mi / 0 km While there are many things to do and enjoy in and around Bryce Canyon National Park, we always recommend a day ride, hiking, or both. Bryce Canyon is home to some of the best hiking trails in Utah. It is also home to some of best motorcycle roads in the world. We’ll organize both today for the group, or you can grab a map and venture out on your own. Either way, we will see you at the BBQ dinner tonight to swap stories, photos, and recommendations for our next visit to this incredible natural wonder. Day 13: Bryce Canyon to Zion National Park 137 mi / 221 km Our ride today will continue our tour of Southern Utah and the incredible riding and scenery we have become accustomed to on this journey. We will hug the shores of Panguitch Lake before climbing the pass over Blue Spring Mountain and Cedar Breaks National Monument. We could end the ride right here and all would be satisfied, but we’ll press on. After stopping to dip our toes in the frigid mountain spring waters of Navajo Lake, we’ll pick up Hwy 9 leading in to an EagleRider Tour Team “All Time Top 5 Places to Ride,” Zion National Park. Riding through Zion is like riding a motorcycle through the bottom of the Grand Canyon. It would be an injustice to try and describe the view of Zion as the endless canyon walls and vibrant colors explode like fireworks as we emerge from the mile long tunnel that cuts through the mountains protecting the canyon floor. We’ll check in at our hotel quickly then turn the group loose to ride, walk or run Zion. We highly recommend taking the shuttle into the heart of the valley, as cars and motorcycles are not allowed. Let’s end the ride with a journey through the absolute best motorcycle road in Nevada, and one of the Top 20 in the country; Valley of Fire State Park. Valley of Fire is like riding a motorcycle on the moon, if it was painted bright red. One minute you are riding through the Nevada desert and the next you are riding through narrow canyons of the most vibrant and amazing red and brown hues imaginable. This place is simply awesome, and we can’t think of a better way to end a life changing journey. Tonight, we celebrate with our new family of riders. Chances are we will have a great plan in place for our next journey together before the first round of drinks is finished before dinner!
