short. For the WAMP markets, the forecourt of the MuseumsQuartier is transformed into the place to be for designers,
creative professionals, and trendsetters to
present their handmade products from the
branches of fashion/apparel, home décor,
children’s goodies, art, jewellery, bags, and
anything else the heart desires. WAMP is
a favourite among fashion-lovers for its
central location and free entry, and for
being the only design market where dogs
are welcome! In recent years Vienna has
become the perfect location for smallscale entrepreneurs who value fair trade
and organic and sustainable production to
present themselves to the world. WAMP
has created an international marketing

FESCH’MARKT – known to all who love
unusual and exceptional things – sets up
shop in the Ottakringer Brewery again
for three days, from Friday to Sunday,
17–19 June 2016. On the tour bus, the

This year, ImPulsTanz is again presenting
the international performance scene’s
most acclaimed artists. Amongst them
are the French dance icon Maguy Marin
with her latest production ‘BiT’ (Production of the Year 2015 by international

Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Wim
Vandekeybus and their respective companies, the latter featuring dEUS guitarist
Mauro Pawlowski live on stage. Besides
presenting the world’s most outstanding
choreographers of our time, the festival
has caused a stir around the art world
by launching a workshop series at the
intersection of visual arts and dance
programmed by luminary Tino Sehgal.

challenge the state of the art of dance
within the [8:tension] series. For those

ImPulsTanz offers numerous dance floors
for its 200 workshops for all levels, and
also at the daily parties in the festival

Let’s celebrate the 10th anniversary of the
VIENNA DESIGN WEEK together with
talks, cocktails, exhibitions, guided tours, all
over the city.
The Vienna Design Week, Austria’s
largest design festival, is celebrating a big
anniversary in 2016: its tenth edition,
with around 150 events, takes place
between 30 September and 9 October
2016. In addition, the anniversary year
offers a series of other activities, both at
home and abroad. On the agenda are a
joint event with the Diagonale festival of
Austrian film at the Designmonat Graz,
a Vienna Design Week exhibition at the
Austrian Cultural Forum New York, and
joint design appearances with ADN –
AustriaDesignNet – at this year’s Design
Biennale London and at the World Design
Capital in Taipei. As it promotes a new
awareness of design, the Vienna Design
Week, directed by Lilli Hollein, manages
to create a fine balance between meeting
the needs of both the experts and the
general public.
