Planted to 667, 777, 828, Cruz and Pommard Goldridge series sandy loam soil provides excellent drainage and low soil fertility, keeping vines low vigor ^^ High density vine spacing (1x2m) promotes excellent vine balance and development of grape flavors, structure and concentration ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ 2012 Vintage: How it affected Hallberg Pinot Noir structure, concentration, style and balance? ^^ Large Pinot Noir crop yielded a lot of clean fruit; natural acidity was relatively ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ Hambrecht Bradford Mountain low and skins were thinner than average, giving us a greater than average juice to solids ratio. Moderate temperatures throughout the growing season allowed for beautiful flavor development. Dry, warm weather yielded very clean fruit – minimal sorting was required. We utilized the Saignée technique to achieve concentration, structure and balance. We employed extended maceration and a 5-day Cold soak to allow the fruit to release complex flavors and aromas. Bacigalupi Goddard Ranch Frost Ranch Rochioli River Block Allen The Wine: ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ Ramey Ideal weather produced an aromatically explosive, juicy wine. Complex and savory, with lots of earthy, dark fruit flavors. Full-bodied, bold and zesty texture – balanced by bright acidity. New winemaking techniques amplified a long, juicy finish.
