● ICMP Communications ● Press Summary for Friday, October 02, 2009 ● Dnevni avaz carries that a Štrpci victim has been identified Dnevni avaz, Headline: 17 years after the Štrpci crime: Halil Zubčević’s skull located (pg 8, by Sanja Škuletić, full article translation) – Nearly 17 years following the Štrpci crime, the mortal remains of one of the victims of the crime that took place on 27 February 1993 have been identified, was confirmed to Dnevni avaz by Amor Mašović, member of the Missing Persons Institute’s Board of Directors. According to him, in this summer in a Srebrenica village of Sjedače a skull was found and DNA analysis confirmed it belonged to Halil Zubčević from Trebinje. Zubčević and another 18 men were taken off a passenger train 671 by war criminals Milan and Sredoje Lukić, never to be seen again. “We have no information about the remaining of Zubčević’s body or the mortal remains of 18 remaining victims”, Mašović said. Zubčević’s wife and two children who live in Denmark have been notified about the DNA analysis. EU delegation tours ICMP Nezavisne novine, Headline: Resolute to support the search for Tuzla; Adam Boys quoted missing persons (pg 4, by SRNA) – Nezavisne novine carries a news report based on ICMP press release on the EU delegation visit to ICMP Tuzla. NN adds that ICMP’s chief operating officer Adam Boys said the visit of the EU ambassadors to the International Commission on Missing Persons sends a message to families of missing persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina that the international community remains resolute in helping them find the answers. NN says the delegation paid visit to three ICMP’s facilities in Tuzla, the Podrinje Identification Project, the Lukavac Reassociation Centre and the Identification Coordination Division (ICD).
