Attendance is an essential component to any student’s academic success. Often
the number of days that our students are absent or tardy accumulates without parents
realizing how many days are missed. As a result, the Cobb County School Board revised
our attendance policy last year and outlined a new attendance protocol for the schools to
follow. You can review this policy yourself on the county’s website at
http://www.cobbk12.org/HRBoardPolicies/J_Policies/jb_r.htm.
This letter from administration serves as the second step in that process. The next
step is that after 15 absences, the school will refer your child to our school social worker
who will work with you and your student to improve attendance. This policy applies to
absences that are excused, unexcused, consecutive or non-executive.
At this time, you and your student have an opportunity to work towards
improving attendance without further intervention. However, as stated earlier, after 15
absences, the school is required to refer your child to the social worker. We look forward
to working with you to improve your child’s attendance. Please contact us if there is any
way that we can assist in this process. Thanks in advance for your support and
cooperation.

Conseqüentemente, no ano passado a Junta Escolar do Condado de Cobb fez uma revisão
nas regras e procedimentos de freqüência escolar e criou novas normas de freqüência
para serem seguidas pelas escolas. Vocês podem tirar qualquer dúvida sobre as novas
regras e procedimentos de freqüência na página da internet do Condado

Esta carta da administração é o segundo passo deste processo. O próximo passo
será dado depois de quinze (15) faltas. A escola encaminhará um relatório à assistente
