Até 2035, haverá 3 bilhões de carros e caminhões em uso no mundo, um número impressionante, que é três vezes
o número de veículos nas estradas hoje. A tendência relacionada a este aumento na mobilidade é a crescente
demanda por parte dos governos e cidadãos para aumentar a eficiência de combustível, reduzindo as emissões
e outros impactos ambientais.

vehicles on the road today. The closely related megatrend that parallels this surge in mobility is the growing demand
by governments and citizens to increase fuel efficiency while reducing emissions and other environmental impacts.
Hoje, como líder no fornecimento de borracha sintética de alto desempenho, que contribui para a viabilização dos
"Pneus Verdes" que economizam energia, a LANXESS está trabalhando para enfrentar este enorme desafio e alcançar
um crescimento próspero e sustentável para nossa própria indústria.
Por isso, decidimos realizar nosso segundo fórum científico no Brasil, cujo tema é “High-tech rubber for green mobility”.
Aqui, vamos discutir as questões e tendências que estão moldando o futuro da mobilidade. Entre outros temas vitais,
vamos examinar os papéis da inovação e da tecnologia de borracha para enfrentar o desafio da sustentabilidade, as
megatendências que estão rapidamente transformando os nossos negócios e a indústria de pneus no Brasil.
O LANXESS Rubber Day Brasil é o terceiro de uma série de conferências realizadas neste ano, com os eventos
anteriores que ocorreram na China e nos Estados Unidos. Estamos muito contentes em recebê-lo no Rio de Janeiro
para um programa de excepcionais discussões.

Ângela Britto é natural de Volta Redonda, RJ. No final dos anos 80 se mudou para o Rio e
começou a estudar teatro. Cursou Comunicação Social / Jornalismo na Faculdade da Cidade
(atual UniverCidade). Ao se formar em jornalismo, a carreira de atriz, iniciada na tradicional
escola de Maria Clara Machado, foi temporariamente interrompida. Depois de estagiar no
departamento de jornalismo e de esportes da Rede Globo, Ângela foi contratada como repórter
da TV Centro América. Atualmente, Ângela Britto é apresentadora do programa Repórter
Petrobras - programa ao vivo de entrevistas na Webtv da Companhia.
CEO da LANXESS no Brasil desde julho de 2004. Formado em Direito pela Pontifícia
Universidade Católica de São Paulo, mestre em Direito Civil e extensão em Direito Internacional.
É membro do Conselho Diretivo da Abiquim, Conselheiro da Câmara de Comércio e Indústria
Brasil Alemanha e membro da Câmara Americana de Comércio.
CEO of LANXESS Brazil since July 2004. He holds a degree in Law from the Pontific Catholic
University of São Paulo, a Masters degree in Civil Law and an Extension degree in International
Law. Is a member of the Board of Directors of Abiquim, Director of the Brazil-Germany Chamber
of Commerce and Industry, and he is a member of the American Chamber of Commerce.
Ângela Britto is from Volta Redonda, Rio de Janeiro state. In the late 1980s she moved to Rio and
began studying theater. She studied Communications and Journalism at Faculdade da Cidade
(now UniverCidade). On graduating in journalism, her acting career, begun at the famous Maria
Clara Machado school, was temporarily put on hold. After doing an internship at the department
of journalism and sports at the Globo network, Ângela was hired as reporter at TV Centro
América. Ângela Britto now presents the program Repórter Petrobras – a live interview program
on the company’s website.
Dr. Axel C. Heitmann
Dr. Axel C. Heitmann nasceu em 2 de outubro de 1959, em Hamburgo, Alemanha. Estudou
Química na Universidade de Hamburgo e na Universidade de Southampton, Reino Unido,
obtendo um doutorado em Ciência em 1988. Ele se juntou à Bayer, em 1989, onde entrou
para o programa de estagiário de pós-graduação. Entre 1989 e 1991, ocupou vários cargos na
Divisão de Pesquisa Central, e nos departamentos de Desenvolvimento de Aplicações. Depois
de dois anos como gerente da fábrica, Heitmann foi transferido para a Bayer plc, no Reino
Unido como Gerente do site Bromsgrove de Rubber Business. Em 1996, foi nomeado líder de
Produção e Tecnologia da PolymerLatex, uma recém-formada joint venture entre a Bayer AG
e Degussa AG. De março de 1999 a 31 de janeiro de 2002, foi diretor da subsidiária Bayer
Wolff Walsrode. Ele foi então nomeado líder do Grupo Rubber Business da Bayer AG. Em 1º de
julho de 2002, se tornou membro do Comitê Executivo da Bayer Polymers, e, assim tornou-se
responsável pelas atividades da Bayer Polymers na região Ásia-Pacífico, em Xangai de 2002
até meados de 2004. Em 16 de setembro de 2004, Heitmann foi nomeado Presidente do
Conselho de Administração da LANXESS AG. Heitmann é membro do Conselho Presidencial
da Associação Alemã da Indústria Química desde 22 de setembro de 2006.
Luiz F. França
Graduou-se em Engenharia Química pela Faculdade de Engenharia Industrial (FEI), em 1993
e realizou MBA em Comércio Internacional na Fundação Instituto de Administração (FIA), em
2006. Tem 15 anos de experiência em vendas técnicas de borracha sintética e látex no Brasil
e no exterior. Em 2004, juntou-se ao time de Marketing da LANXESS Elastômeros do Brasil.
Desde 2008 atua como Gerente de Contas para América Latina da unidade de negócios
Perfomance Butadiene Rubbers (PBR).
He graduated in Chemical Engineering from the Industrial Engineering University (FEI) in 1993
and did an MBA in International Trade at the Administration Foundation Institute (FIA) in 2006.
He has 15 years’ experience in synthetic rubber and latex sales in Brazil and abroad. In 2004
he joined the marketing team at LANXESS Elastômeros do Brasil. Since 2008 he has been an
Account Manager for Latin America at the Performance Butadiene Rubbers (PBR) business unit.
Dr. Axel C. Heitmann was born on October 2, 1959 in Hamburg, Germany. He studied chemistry
at Hamburg University and the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, obtaining a science
doctorate in 1988. He joined Bayer in 1989 where he entered the post-graduate trainee
program. Between 1989 and 1991, he held various positions in the Central Research Division,
and in the Applications Development and Production departments. Following two years as a
plant manager, Heitmann transferred to Bayer plc in the United Kingdom as Manager of the
Rubber Business Group’s Bromsgrove site. In 1996, he was appointed Head of Production
and Technology at PolymerLatex, the then newly formed joint venture between Bayer AG and
Degussa AG. From March 1999 to January 31, 2002, he was Managing Director of the Bayer
subsidiary Wolff Walsrode. He was then appointed Head of the Rubber Business Group at Bayer
AG. On 1, July 2002, he became a member of the Executive Committee of Bayer Polymers, and
in this capacity was responsible for Bayer Polymers APAC’s activities in Shanghai from 2002
until the middle of 2004. On September 16, 2004, Heitmann was appointed Chairman of the
Board of Management of LANXESS AG. Heitmann has been a member of the German Chemical
Industry Association’s Presidential Council since September 22, 2006.
Fabio Encinas
Graduado em Química Indústrial na Faculdade Oswaldo Cruz e com MBA em especialização
em Gestão de Negócios na Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), Encinas possui mais de 16 anos de
experiência como especialista na área comercial e técnica em empresas de matéria-prima de
borracha. Ele trabalhou na Bayer desde 2000 e hoje trabalha na LANXESS.
With a degree in Industrial Chemistry at Faculdade Oswaldo Cruz and MBA with Business
Management specialization at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), Encinas has over than 16 years
of experience in both technical and commercial areas in rubber specialized or raw materials
companies. He has worked at Bayer since 2000 and today he works at LANXESS.

Paulo Cardamone
Graduado em Engenharia Química pela Universidade Federal da Bahia, mestre e doutor em
Engenharia Química pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, é atualmente professor
Titular de Engenharia Química da COPPE, UFRJ e professor permanente do Programa de PósGraduação em Química do Instituto Militar de Engenharia. É membro dos comitês editoriais
das revistas Macromolecular Reaction Engineering, Macromolecular Materials and Engineering,
Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering e da revista Polímeros: Ciência e Tecnologia, editada
pela ABPol. Desde 2010 é membro titular da Academia Brasileira de Ciências. Seus trabalhos têm
ênfase na área de modelagem, simulação e controle de sistemas de polimerização. Já publicou
mais de 250 artigos em revistas científicas e conta com mais de 1700 citações nas bases “Web
of Science” e “Scopus”. Paralelamente, é Diretor Executivo da Fundação COPPETEC.
Diretor Geral da IHS Automotive, responsável pelas operações da empresa para a área de
Indústria Automobilística na América do Sul. É graduado em Estatística pela Unicamp, com
MBA em Administração pela USP.
With a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Bahia, an MS and Ph.D. in
Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, he is currently Professor of
Chemical Engineering at COPPE, UFRJ, and a professor on the Graduate Chemistry program at
the Military Institute of Engineering. He sits on the editorial boards of the journals Macromolecular
Reaction Engineering, Macromolecular Materials and Engineering, the Canadian Journal of
Chemical Engineering, and the magazine Polímeros: Ciência e Tecnologia, published by ABPol.
He has been a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences since 2010. His work has focused
on the modeling, simulation and control of polymerization systems and he has published over
250 articles in scientific journals, having more than 1,700 citations on “Web of Science” and
“Scopus.” In addition, he is the Executive Director of the Technological Project, Research, and
Study Coordination COPPETEC Foundation.
Bruno Jorge Soares
Managing Director of IHS Automotive, responsible for the company’s operations in the automotive
industry in South America. He is graduated in Statistics at Unicamp and has an MBA in Business
Management from USP.
Bruno Jorge é líder de projetos para o setor automotivo na ABDI. Está na agência desde 2009,
onde começou como assessor da presidência. Em 2010, assumiu a coordenação do projeto
automotivo. Formado em administração de empresas pela Universidade de Brasília, Bruno Jorge
já teve experiências nos setores de telecomunicações, educação, imobiliário e varejo. Antes de
entrar para a ABDI, atuou como consultor nas áreas de pesquisa de mercado, planejamento
estratégico e inteligência competitiva durante mais de 10 anos. Mestre em Ciência da Informação
também pela UnB, estudou comportamento do consumidor e marketing. Foi professor em
cursos de graduação e pós-graduação na FGV – Brasília. Em 2005, como consultor, participou
do start up da Agência Brasileira de Desenvolvimento Industrial - ABDI. Em 2009, entrou para
o quadro permanente da ABDI como especialista em competitividade setorial. Atuou como
assessor da presidência da ABDI até o início de 2010 quando foi designado para gerir o projeto
automotivo na ABDI. Em 2012, Bruno Jorge coordenou o estudo para o estabelecimento de
metas de eficiência energética para o setor automotivo brasileiro. O trabalho foi desenvolvido
pela empresa IHS que apresentou uma análise de viabilidade tecnológica de adoção de uma
meta de eficiência energética para o País. Além de discutir tais questões com os entes técnicos
como Inmetro, IBAMA, MME e MMA, a ABDI contribuiu para o debate do tema no novo regime
automotivo 2013-2017.
Dr. Rainier van Roessel
Rainier van Roessel nasceu em 4 de agosto de 1957, em Oisterwijk na Holanda. Estudou
Administração na Universidade de Colônia, obtendo seu doutorado (rerum politicarum) em
1988. No mesmo ano, se juntou ao Departamento de Organização Corporativa da Bayer AG
como consultor interno. Em 1993, tornou-se um consultor de estratégia no Departamento de
Planejamento Estratégico, onde ajudou a estabelecer a unidade de Fusões e Aquisições (M&A,
em inglês). Em 1997, van Roessel tornou-se Diretor de Marketing Estratégico para Estirênicos
no Grupo Plastics Business, e em 2001 foi nomeado Diretor de Marketing Europeu para
Policarbonatos. No recém-formado subgrupo da Bayer Polymers, assumiu a responsabilidade
de Operações Globais de Poliéster / TPU / Películas. Quando a LANXESS foi criada em 2004,
tornou-se chefe da unidade de negócios Rubber Chemicals, e em junho de 2006, foi nomeado
diretor da LANXESS NV, em Antuérpia, na Bélgica. Em 1º de janeiro de 2007, van Roessel foi
nomeado para o Conselho de Administração da LANXESS AG.
Bruno Jorge is a project leader for the automotive sector at the Brazilian Industrial Development
Agency (ABDI), where he has worked since 2009, having begun as an adviser to the president.
In 2010 he became the coordinator of the automotive project. With a degree in business
management from the University of Brasília, he has worked in the telecommunications,
education, real estate and retail sectors. Prior to working at the ABDI, he was a consultant in the
market research, strategic planning, and competitive intelligence areas for over 10 years. With a
Master’s degree in information science, also from the University of Brasília, he studied consumer
behavior and marketing. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at FGV – Brasília.
In 2005, as a consultant, he was involved in starting up the ABDI. In 2009 he became a fulltime employee of the ABDI, specialized in sectoral competitiveness. He was an advisor to the
president of the ABDI until early 2010, when he was made the manager of the automotive project.
In 2012, Bruno Jorge coordinated the study of setting energy efficiency targets for the Brazilian
automotive sector. The work was done by HIS, which presented a technological feasibility study
on the adoption of an energy efficiency target for Brazil. Besides discussing such questions with
technical bodies such as Inmetro, IBAMA, the MME and the MMA, the ABDI has contributed to
the debate on a new automotive plan for 2013-2017.
Rainier van Roessel was born on August 4, 1957 in Oisterwijk in the Netherlands. He studied
business administration at the University of Cologne, obtaining his doctorate (rerum politicarum)
in 1988. In the same year he joined the Corporate Organization Department of Bayer AG as an
internal advisor. In 1993 he became a strategy advisor in the Strategic Planning Department,
where he helped to set up the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Unit. In 1997 van Roessel
became Head of Strategic Marketing for Styrenics in the Plastics Business Group, and in 2001
he was appointed Head of European Marketing for Polycarbonates. In the newly formed Bayer
Polymers subgroup he assumed responsibility for Global Operations Polyester/TPU/Films. When
LANXESS was established in 2004, he became Head of the Rubber Chemicals business unit,
and in June 2006 he was appointed Managing Director of LANXESS N.V., in Antwerp, Belgium.
On January 1, 2007, van Roessel was appointed to the Board of Management of LANXESS AG.

Robert Simmons entrou para a LMC em 1994. Ele é líder de Pesquisa de Borracha e Pneus da LMC
International, cargo no qual está desde 2000. Aprendeu sobre a borracha natural na Papua Nova
Guiné, onde trabalhou para o Ministério da Agricultura no início da década de 1990. Ele é economista
por formação e possui mestrado pela Universidade de Reading. A LMC International é uma empresa
líder de consultoria independente sobre economia e negócios que oferece serviços de consultoria e
pesquisa econômica para uma ampla gama de indústrias, relacionadas com commodities agrícolas,
alimentos, materiais industriais, biocombustíveis e seus mercados finais. Isto inclui as indústrias de

Robert Simmons joined LMC in 1994. He is LMC International’s Head of Rubber and Tyre
Research, a position he has held since 2000. He learnt about natural rubber in Papua New
Guinea where he worked for the Department of Agriculture in the early 1990s. He is an economist
by training and has a Masters Degree from Reading University. LMC International is a leading
independent economic and business consultancy providing economic research and consultancy
services for a broad range of industries, related to agricultural commodities, foods, industrial
materials, biofuels and their end-markets. This includes the rubber and tyre industries. Founded
in 1980, its headquarters are in the UK, and it has offices in New York and Kuala Lumpur. Each
year LMC publishes detailed forecasts of global tyre markets, the LMC World Tyre Forecast
Service and Tyre Size Service, and the natural and synthetic rubber sectors.
Coordinator-General of International Articulation at Inmetro, working in International Relations,

Science and Technology, Metrology, Laboratory Accreditation, Evaluation of Compliance and
Technological Innovation through Cooperation Agreements, Memorandums of Understanding,

and ABNT. He is a member of the Superior Board of Foreign Trade - COSCEX / FIESP and
the International Relations Corporate Board - CIN / FIRJAN. He holds a degree in Operational
Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Santa Úrsula, and a
masters in Technology from the Federal Technological Education Center in Rio de Janeiro. He is
a Technological Researcher in Metrology and Quality at Inmetro.
Viviane Lovison
Graduada em Química Industrial e Licenciada em Química pela Universidade Federal do Rio
Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Viviane é especialista em Tecnologia de Elastômeros pelo Institut
National de Formation Et D’enseignement Professionnel Du Caoutchou (IFOCA) na França e
em Gestão Empresarial pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUC-RS).
Autora do livro Introdução ao Processo de Pesagem na Indústria da Borracha e Coautora dos
livros Tecnologia de Transformação dos Elastômeros e Metrologia e Ensaios Básicos na Indústria
da Borracha pelo Centro Tecnológico de Polímeros, SENAI. Foi eleita Profissional Destaque da
Química em 2011 pelo CRQ 5ª Região SINDIQUIM e SINQUIRS. Atua junto ao setor industrial
há 24 anos, com conhecimento e experiência em tecnologias de transformação de borracha
e plástico, gestão da qualidade (ISO 9000 e ISO 17025) e coordenação de projetos de PD&I.
Atualmente é diretora do Centro Tecnológico de Polímeros SENAI-RS e Diretora Administrativa
da ABTB - Regional Sul, biênio 2012-2014.
With a degree in Industrial Chemistry from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul
(UFRGS), Viviane is specialized in elastomer technology at the Institut National de Formation Et
D’enseignement Professionnel Du Caoutchou (IFOCA) in France, and business management
at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUC-RS). The author of the book
Introdução ao Processo de Pesagem na Indústria da Borracha (An Introduction to the Weighing
Process in the Rubber Industry) and co-author of the books Tecnologia de Transformação dos
Elastômeros (Elastomer Transformation Technology) and Metrologia e Ensaios Básicos na
Indústria da Borracha (Metrology and Basic Testing in the Rubber Industry), published by the
Polymer Technology Center, SENAI. She was named Outstanding Professional of the Year in
Chemistry, 2011, by the Regional Chemistry Board, 5th, Region, SINDIQUIM and SINQUIRS.
She has worked in the industrial sector for 24 years and is experienced in rubber and plastic
transformation technology, quality management (ISO 9000 and ISO 17025) and research,
development and innovation project coordination. She is currently the director of the Polymer
Technology Center, SENAI, in Rio Grande do Sul and Administrative Director of the ABTB –
Southern Region, for the period from 2012 to 2014.

Dr. Werner Breuers
Dino Lameira
Dr. Werner Breuers nasceu em Moenchengladbach, Alemanha, em 1958. Estudou Química na
Universidade Técnica de Aachen, e obteve doutorado em Ciências. Começou sua carreira em
1989 como químico, na área de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento da Hoechst AG, em Frankfurt.
Após a assumir uma série de posições gerenciais na Hoechst AG, Breuers se tornou vicepresidente de Licenciamento e Catalisadores da fabricante de polietileno Elenac GmbH em
Kehl, na Alemanha, em 1999. Um ano depois, a Elenac GmbH passou a fazer parte do Grupo
Basell. Como membro da equipe de gestão da Basell, ele foi líder da Divisão Global do Negócio
de Tecnologia, com sede em Milão, Itália, e posteriormente presidente da Basell Polyolefins
Europe, com sede em Amsterdã, Holanda. Em 14 de maio de 2007, Breuers foi nomeado para o
Conselho de Administração da LANXESS AG, atuando nas unidades de negócios Performance
Polymers e Advanced Intermediates e nas área de Suprimentos, Logística, Inovação e
Responsablidades Industriais e Ambientais.
Graduado em Engenharia Química com ênfase em Materiais pela Escola de Engenharia de Lorena
(EEL/USP), atua hoje como Coordenador Técnico da Área de Informação e Serviço no Centro
de Competência de Produtos da Associação Brasileira de Defesa do Consumidor (Pro Teste).
Até 2008, atuou como Analista Técnico no Inmetro, Instituto Nacional de Metrologia,
Normalização e Qualidade Industrial, onde também coordenou o Programa de Análise Produtos
do Inmetro até 2004.
With a degree in Chemical Engineering focused on Materials from the Lorena School of
Engineering (EEL/USP), his is the Technical Coordinator in the Information and Service Area at
the Product Competence Center at the Brazilian Consumer Defense Association (Pro Teste). Up
to 2008 he was a Technical Analyst at the Brazilian Institute of Metrology, Standardization, and
Industrial Quality (Inmetro), where he was also the coordinator of the Product Analysis Program,
up to 2004.
Dr. Werner Breuers was born in Moenchengladbach, Germany, in 1958. He studied Chemistry

1999. One year later, Elenac GmbH became part of Basell Group. As a member of the Basell
management team he was Head of the Global Technology Business Division based in Milan, Italy,
and was subsequently President of Basell Polyolefins Europe based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
On May 14, 2007, Breuers was appointed to the Board of Management of LANXESS AG.
His responsibilities and strategic areas of operations include the Performance Polymers and
Advanced Intermediates business segments and the Global Procurement & Logistics, Innovation
and Industrial & Environmental Affairs Group Functions.
Dr. Ron Commander
Dr. Ron Commander atua como líder da unidade de negócios Butyl Rubber Business da LANXESS
desde 1º de junho de 2004. Commander nasceu em Brisbane, na Austrália, no dia 24 de abril
de 1950. Ele é Ph.D. em Engenharia Química e estudou no Reino Unido. Sua carreira profissional
teve inicio em 1982 na Polysar Inc. em Sarnia, no Canadá, e com aquisição da Polysar em 1990,
o executivo passou a fazer parte da Bayer AG. Antes de se tornar líder da Unidade de Negócios
Butyl Rubber da LANXESS em 2004, Ron Commancer trabalhou em pesquisa e desenvolvimento,
produção e serviço técnico no antigo Rubber Business Group da Bayer e em desenvolvimento de
negócios na Bayer Polymers Shanghai.
Dr. Humberto Lovisi
Dr. Ron Commander has served as Head of the LANXESS Butyl Rubber Business Unit since June
1, 2004. Commander was born in Brisbane, Australia, on April 24, 1950. The Ph.D. chemical
engineer was educated in the UK. He embarked on his professional career in 1982 with Polysar
Inc. of Sarnia, Canada, joining Bayer AG with its acquisition of Polysar in 1990. Before becoming
Head of the LANXESS Butyl Rubber Business Unit in 2004, Mr. Commander worked in research
and development, production and technical service at Bayer’s former Rubber Business Group
and in business development at Bayer Polymers Shanghai.
É Engenheiro Químico, formado pela UFRJ, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, com mestrado
em Química Orgânica pela mesma universidade, doutorado em Ciência de Polímeros também pela
UFRJ e pós-doutorado pela University of North Carolina, nos EUA. É atualmente Diretor de Marketing
para a América Latina da unidade de negócios Performance Butadiene Rubbers da LANXESS,
responsável pelas áreas de Marketing, Technical Marketing, Supply&Demand e Customer Services,
função que exerce desde 2008. Atua na companhia desde 1987, onde iniciou sua carreira na área
de Pesquisa & Desenvolvimento, tendo depois assumido posições nas áreas de assistência técnica,
comercial, até assumir a atual posição em 2008.

Cláudio Guimarães Alzuguir
Christoph Kalla
Engenheiro eletricista eletrônico graduado pela Universidade de Brasília (UnB) em 1978,
possuiu MBA em Economia e Gestão da Energia pela COPPEAD/UFRJ – Universidade Federal
do Rio de Janeiro, em 2012. Desde 1979 atua na Petrobras. Em 1997, iniciou sua atuação no
CONPET, Programa Nacional da Racionalização do Uso dos Derivados do Petróleo e do Gás
Natural do Governo Federal, vinculado ao Ministério de Minas e Energia - MME, e executado com
o apoio técnico e administrativo da Petrobras. É atualmente responsável pelos programas de
etiquetagem realizados em parceria com o Inmetro e coordena a concessão do Selo CONPET
de Eficiência Energética.
Christoph H. Kalla é formado em administração e começou sua carreira como estagiário na Bayer
em 1988. Em 1993, Kalla mudou para os EUA, onde trabalhou em cargos com responsabilidades
crescentes até o seu retorno para a Alemanha em 2001. De volta à Alemanha, Christoph foi gerente
de produto de Borrachas Polibutadieno e depois gerente de produto de borrachas de polibutadieno
e borracha butílica. Desde a criação da LANXESS, Kalla é vice-presidente de Marketing / Pesquisa e
Desenvolvimento da unidade de negócio Performance Butadiene Rubbers da LANXESS.
Christoph H. Kalla holds a German business degree and started his career with Bayer in 1988
as a trainee. In 1993, Kalla moved to the US where he worked in positions with increasing
responsibilities until his return to Germany in 2001. Back in Germany, Christoph was Product
Manager of Polybutadiene Rubbers and later Product Manager of Polybutadiene Rubbers and
Butyl Rubber. Since the creation of LANXESS, Mr. Kalla has been Vice President of Marketing /
R&D of the Business Unit Performance Butadiene Rubbers of LANXESS.
Graduating in Electrical Engineering from the University of Brasília (UnB) in 1978, in 2012
he earned an MBA in Economics and Energy Management from COPPEAD/UFRJ – at the
Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He has worked at Petrobras since 1979. In 1997 he
began working on the Federal Government’s National Rationalization of the Use of Oil and
Gas Derivates Program (CONPET), under the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), which is
technically and administratively supported by Petrobras. He is now in charge of the labeling
programs, in partnership with Inmetro, and is coordinating the concession of the CONPET
Energy Efficiency Seal.
Prof. Dr. Robert Schuster
Dr. Robert Schuster é professor de engenharia de polímeros do Instituto Alemão de Tecnologia da
Borracha em Hannover, Alemanha. Ele é formado em Química pelo Instituto de Química Orgânica,
da Universidade “Al. J. Cuza” Yassy na Romênia, e fez sua tese na Universidade de Freiburg. Além
de lecionar para suas próprias turmas, ele também foi professor de diversos cursos e seminários em
várias instituições em toda a Europa, Ásia e América do Sul. Ele supervisionou teses de doutorado
de 38 alunos e seus artigos foram publicados em uma vasta gama de publicações. Schuster ganhou
prêmios da Sociedade Alemã de Borracha e da Divisão de Borracha da ACS.
Dr. Joachim Grub
Grub nasceu em Bilbao, Espanha, em 27 de março de 1959. Estudou Química na RWTH Aachen
University, na Alemanha, onde obteve doutorado em Ciências depois de uma dissertação sobre
Pesquisa sobre Carvão no Instituto Max Planck, em Mülheim an der Ruhr. Depois de iniciar sua
carreira em 1989, na área de pesquisa e desenvolvimento da EC Erdölchemie GmbH - mais tarde
conhecida como BP Köln GmbH - Joachim Grub, ocupou várias posições gerenciais. Em 2002,
Grub juntou-se à Bayer como líder de Operações Globais de borracha de polibutadieno e butílica.
Desde julho de 2004, o químico é responsável pela unidade de negócios Performance Butadiene
Rubbers da LANXESS.
Dr. Robert Schuster is a polymer engineering professor at the German Institute of Rubber
Technology in Hannover, Germany. He has earned his diploma in chemistry at the Institute of
Organic Chemistry,University “Al. J. Cuza” Yassy in Romania, and did his dissertation at the
Universityof Freiburg. Along with teaching many of his own classes, he has also taught many
courses and seminars at a variety of institutions throughout Europe, Asia, and South America.
He has supervised 38 PhD students’ theses and been published in a vast array of publications.
Schuster has earned awards from both the German Rubber Society and the ACS Rubber Division.
Grub was born in Bilbao, Spain, on March 27, 1959. He studied chemistry at the RWTH Aachen
University in Germany, where he obtained a science doctorate after a dissertation at the Max
Planck Institute for Coal Research in Mülheim an der Ruhr. After starting his career in 1989 in
research and development at EC Erdölchemie GmbH – later known as BP Köln GmbH – Joachim
Grub held various managerial positions in manufacturing, culminating in his role as head of
that function. In 2002, Grub joined Bayer as Head of Global Operations Polybutadiene and
Butyl Rubber. Since July 2004 the chemist is heading up the Performance Butadiene Rubbers
business unit of LANXESS.

Luis López-Remón nasceu em Guadalajara, na Espanha, em 27 de setembro de 1957. Ele estudou
Economia e completou seus estudos na Universidade de Wuppertal, formando-se como economista.
Fez pós-graduação no Institut Européen d’Administration des Affaires (INSEAD), na França. Em
março de 2003, López-Remón entrou para a Bayer Chemicals como Líder de Coordenação
Regional e foi responsável pelas duas iniciativas do Conselho, Excelência em Vendas e Marketing. De
janeiro de 2004 até o final de 2006, ele dirigiu a unidade de negócios Textile Processing Chemicals
da LANXESS. Desde 2007, Luis López-Remón é líder unidade de negócios Rubber Chemicals da
LANXESS AG.
Diretor Executivo das áreas Comercial e Marketing da Borrachas Vipal S/A desde setembro
de 2012, acumulando a posição de Diretor Executivo da empresa da Fate Pneus do Brasil S/A desde
janeiro de 2012. Profissional com vasta experiência no mercado de pneus e reforma de pneus, foi
Diretor Comercial da Marangoni Tread Latino America entre abril de 2007 a dezembro de 2011.
Anteriormente atuou por doze anos na Bandag do Brasil e por onze anos na pneumática francesa
Michelin. Possui forte atuação setorial, sendo atualmente Diretor Associação Brasileira do Segmento
de Reforma de Pneus (ABR). Plínio de Luca possui Graduação em Administração de Empresas pelo
Instituto Paulista de Ensino e Pesquisa e MBA em Gestão de Negócios pela Fundação Dom Cabral.
Luis López-Remón was born in Guadalajara, Spain on September 27, 1957. He studied
economics and completed his studies at University of Wuppertal, graduating as an economist. He
followed this up with postgraduate studies at the Institut Européen d’Administration des Affaires
(INSEAD) in France. In march 2003, López-Remón joined Bayer Chemicals as Head of Regional
Coordination and was in charge of the two Board initiatives, Sales and Marketing Excellence.
From January 2004 until the end of 2006, he headed LANXESS’ Textile Processing Chemicals
business unit. Since 2007, Luis López-Remón has been Head of the Rubber Chemicals business
unit for LANXESS AG.
He has been the Executive Director of the commercial and marketing areas at Borrachas Vipal
S/A since september 2012, and Executive Director of Fate Pneus do Brasil S/A since January
2012. With vast experience on the tire market, he was the Commercial Director of Marangoni
Tread Latino America from April 2007 to December 2011. Prior to that, he was at Bandag do
Brasil for 12 years and at Michelin for 11 years. He is a Director of the Brazilian Tire Retreading
Association (ABR). He graduated in Sociology from the University of São Paulo and Business
Administration from the São Paulo State Institute of Education and Research, in Campinas, São
Paulo. He holds an MBA in Business Management from the Dom Cabral Foundation.
Dr. Hermann-Josef Weidenhaupt
Gustavo Kuster
Dr. Hermann-Josef Weidenhaupt estudou Química na Universidade de Muenster, e obteve seu
doutorado em 1986. Ele se juntou à AKZO Chemicals, na Alemanha, e trabalhou como Especialista
de Preenchimento Branco para a indústria de borracha antes de se juntar à Bayer, em 1989. Lá,
atuou em vários cargos, incluindo pesquisador de aplicação de antidegradantes de borracha sólida e
estabilização de polímeros, químico de laboratório de produtos químicos de especialidades, e líder de
projeto. Em 1998, o Dr. Weidenhaupt assumiu seu papel atual como Gerente de Serviços Técnicos
de Produtos Químicos de Borracha. Desde 2008, ele é professor assistente na Universidade de
Hanover para “vulcanização química” no curso de “Tecnologia da Borracha”.
Engenheiro Mecânico, formado pela Federal do Rio de Janeiro, com especialização em Defesa
da Concorrência pela FGV, Gestão de Projetos (PMIBook) pela FGV e Engenharia Econômica

diversos Fóruns Internacionais como, por exemplo, o IBSA, Fórum que reúne os representantes
governamentais de regulamentação e normalização da Índia, África do Sul e Brasil.Participa ainda
em diversos grupos de discussão da ISO, como, por exemplo, o que está desenvolvendo a norma
internacional com critérios de sustentabilidade para BioenergiaÉ o coordenador Brasileiro do ISOCASCO, grupo da ISO que estabelece as normas e políticas de Avaliação da Conformidade que são
adotadas por mais de 120 países.
Dr. Hermann-Josef Weidenhaupt studied chemistry at the University of Muenster, obtaining a
PhD in 1986. He joined AKZO Chemicals Germany and worked as a White Filler Specialist for
the rubber industry before he joined Bayer in 1989. There, he held several positions including
application researcher for antidegradants for solid rubber and polymer stabilisation; lab chemist
for specialty chemicals; and project leader. In 1998, Dr. Weidenhaupt stepped into his current
role as Technical Service Manager Rubber Chemicals. Since 2008 he is assistant professor at
the University of Hanover for “Chemical Vulcanisation” in the study course “Rubber Technology”.
He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, with
a specialist diploma in Competition Defense from FGV, and has studied Project Management
(PMIBook) at FGV and Economic and Industrial Engineering at UFRJ / COPPE. Since 2003 he
has been the manager of Inmetro’s Compliance Evaluation Programs, in charge of developing
Compliance Evaluation Regulations for several products that Inmetro regulates. He represents
Inmetro at various international forums, such as IBSA, which brings together government
regulatory ad standards representatives from India, South Africa and Brazil. He also sits on
several ISO discussion groups, such as the one that is developing the international standard on
sustainability criteria in bio-energy. He is the Brazilian coordinator of ISO-CASCO, the ISO group
that sets standards and draws up policies for Compliance Evaluation, which are adopted by over
120 countries.

Dr. Anno Borkowsky atua como presidente e CEO da unidade de negócios Rhein Chemie desde
junho de 2002. Ele começou sua carreira na Rhein Chemie Rheinau GmbH em fevereiro de 1999
como vice-presidente Executivo. Em 2001, foi promovido a Gerente Regional da Europa e Diretor de
Tecnologia. Menos de um ano depois, assumiu a responsabilidade global da Rhein Chemie. Antes
de sua carreira na Rhein Chemie, Dr. Borkowsky trabalhou para a Bayer AG em Leverkusen, na
Alemanha, como líder de departamento. Em setembro de 1995, foi transferido para a Bayer Corp em
Orange, Texas, nos Estados Unidos, onde atuou como Gerente de Operações. O executivo obteve
seu diploma com Assistente Técnico Biológico em 1981. Ele estudou Química na Universidade de
Colônia, na Alemanha, onde também obteve seu doutorado.
O engenheiro Fernando Almeida foi Presidente-Executivo do Conselho Empresarial Brasileiro para o
Desenvolvimento Sustentável (CEBDS), de 1997 a 2010; integrou o Conselho Diretor do Instituto de
Estudos Avançados da Universidade das Nações Unidas por 4 anos, e o Conselho de Administração
da Avaliação Ecossistêmica do Milênio, patrocinada pela ONU, entre 2000 e 2005. Colabora com
a Fundação Don Cabral e a PUC-RJ, tendo sido Professor Adjunto da UFRJ por 30 anos. Mestre
em Engenharia do Meio Ambiente pelo Manhattan College, de Nova York, iniciou a vida profissional
no setor público, tendo sido presidente da Fundação Estadual de Engenharia do Meio Ambiente
(Feema-RJ), ao final de 17 anos de contribuição. Foi Diretor de Meio Ambiente da Rio 2004,
entidade vinculada à Prefeitura do Rio de Janeiro com objetivo de trazer os jogos olímpicos para
a Cidade. Em 2008 foi agraciado com o prêmio Order of Outstanding Contribution to Sustainable
Development, concedido pelo World Business Council on Sustainable Development – WBCSD a
personalidades que se destacaram internacionalmente na promoção da sustentabilidade. Mantém
estreita colaboração com o WBCSD até o presente.
Dr. Anno Borkowsky has served as President and CEO of Rhein Chemie since June 2002. Dr.
Borkowsky began his career at Rhein Chemie Rheinau GmbH in February 1999 as Executive
Vice President. In 2001 he was promoted to Regional Manager Europe and Chief Technology
Officer. Less than a year later, he assumed global responsibility for the Rhein Chemie Group as
its President and CEO. Prior to his career at Rhein Chemie, Dr. Borkowsky worked for Bayer AG
in Leverkusen, Germany as a departmental head. In September 1995, he transferred to Bayer
Corp. in Orange, Texas, United States, where he served as Operations Manager. Dr. Borkowsky
earned his Biological Technical Assistant Degree in 1981. He went on to study chemistry at the
University of Cologne, Germany, earning a doctorate there.
The engineer Fernando Almeida was CEO of the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable
Development (CEBDS) from 1997 to 2010, and was on the Board of the Institute of Advanced
Studies at the United Nations University for four years. He was also on the Board of Directors at
the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, sponsored by the UN, between 2000 and 2005. He
does work at the Don Cabral Foundation and PUC-RJ universities, and has been an Adjunct
Professor at UFRJ for 30 years. With a Masters in Environmental Engineering from Manhattan
College, New York, he started his professional life in the public sector, and was president of
the State Environmental Engineering Foundation (Feema-RJ) after 17 years of work. He was
Director of the Environment at Rio 2004, an entity within the Rio de Janeiro City Hall, charged
with bringing the Olympic Games to the city. In 2008 he was awarded the Order of Outstanding
Contribution to Sustainable Development, by the World Business Council on Sustainable
Development (WBCSD), which recognizes people who have excelled internationally in promoting
sustainability. He maintains a close working relationship with the WBCSD to date.
Prof. Dr. Claus Wrana
Prof. Dr. Claus Wrana estudou Física na Universidade de Ulm, Alemanha. Possui doutorado pelo
Instituto de Ciência dos Materiais em Ulm. Desde 2007, é líder de Teste de Polímeros da LANXESS.
Em março de 2012, foi nomeado professor honorário da Universidade de Hanover. Dr. Wrana
também leciona atualmente Física de Polímeros na Universidade de Hanover, Alemanha e Qingdao,
China, e lecionou na Universidade do Cairo, no Egito, de 1998 a 2004.
Dr. Martin Mezger
Prof. Dr. Claus Wrana studied physics at the University of Ulm, Germany. He holds a PhD from
the institute of Material Science in Ulm. Since 2007 he has been the Head of Polymer Testing at
LANXESS. In March, 2012 he was appointed honorary professor by the University of Hanover.
Dr. Wrana also currently teaches Polymer Physics at the Universities of Hanover, Germany and
Qingdao, China, and taught at the University of Cairo, Egypt, from 1998 – 2004.
Dr. Martin Mezger estudou Química na Universidade de Tuebingen e obteve doutorado em Química
Orgânica, em 1983. Após seus estudos, trabalhou na DuPont na Alemanha como vendedor técnico
para elastômeros. De 1986 a 1987, estudou Tecnologia da Borracha na DIK Hannover. Em 1987 se
juntou ao Departamento de Aplicação de borracha da Bayer. Durante sua carreira na Bayer trabalhou
em Cingapura como líder do Centro Técnico Regional para a região Ásia-Pacífico por vários anos.
Desde 1997, é responsável pelo desenvolvimento e aplicação de produtos EPDM, HNBR EVM na
Bayer, que em 2005 tornou-se LANXESS.
Dr. Martin Mezger studied chemistry at the University of Tuebingen and obtained a PhD in Organic
Chemistry in 1983. Following his studies he worked at DuPont in Germany as technical sales
person for elastomers. From 1986 – 1987 he studied Rubber Technology at the DIK Hannover
part time. In 1987 he joined the Rubber Application Department at Bayer. During his career
at Bayer he worked in Singapore as Head of the Regional Technical Centre for Asia Pacific for
several years. Since 1997, he has been responsible for the product and application development
for EPDM, EVM and HNBR at Bayer which was later spun-off as LANXESS in 2005.

Dr. Martin Saewe é formado em Engenharia Química pela Universidade de Ciências Aplicadas (foco
em termoplásticos) em Reutlingen, na Alemanha. Estudou Química na Universidade de Hannover e
obteve doutorado no German Rubber Institute em Hannover, Alemanha. De 2008 a 2012, foi líder de
Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento e Desenvolvimento de Aplicações de borracha com responsabilidade
global na Rhein Chemie. Desde agosto de 2012, é vice-presidente de Tecnologia da Borracha,
Marketing e Vendas de Pneus na NAFTA, da Rhein Chemie, em Little Rock, EUA.
Dr. Martin Saewe holds a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Applied
Sciences ( focus thermoplastics) in Reutlingen, Germany. He studied chemistry at the University
of Hannover and obtained a PhD from the German Rubber Institute in Hannover, Germany.
From 2008 – 2012 he was head of R&D and Applications Development Rubber with global
responsibility at Rhein Chemie. Since August, 2012 he has been VP Rubber Technology,
Marketing & Sales Tire NAFTA at Rhein Chemie in Little Rock, USA.
Marcos Oliveira
Gerente Executivo de Marketing e Vendas da Unidade de Negócios Technical Rubber Products
(Borrachas Técnicas) para a América Latina. Marcos tem uma longa história na LANXESS. Iniciou
sua carreira na unidade produtiva de EPDM em Triunfo no final dos anos 80. Assumiu vários papéis
como Químico Instrumental, líder de Laboratório, Especialista em Suporte Técnico e Gerente de
Contas. Residente em São Paulo, ele é responsável atualmente por equipes de suporte técnico,
gerenciamento de contas, atendimento ao cliente e marketing, responsável, de maneira geral, por
todo o mercado da América do Sul.
Head of Marketing and Sales for LANXESS Technical Rubber Products Business Unit in Latin
America, Marcos has a long history in LANXESS organization. Starting on EPDM production
site of Triunfo on late 1980’s, he took several roles as Instrumental Chemist, Laboratory
chief, Technical Support Specialist and Account Manager. Based in São Paulo, he is currently
responsible for teams of Technical Support, Account Managers, Customer Services and
Marketing professionals, in charge to support overall South America market.
