Merits of Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah Among the famous du`as to be recited on A'ráfah day is the du`a of Imam Husayn (á). Bushr and Bashir, the sons of Ghalib Asadi, have said that they were in the presence of the Imam (á) in the late afternoon on the Day of A'ráfah on the plains of `Arafat. The Imam came out of his tent along with a group of followers and some of his family members including his sons, while he was extremely humble and tenderhearted. They stood on the left side of the mountain; then they faced the qiblah, held their hands before their faces, palms upward in the gesture of begging, and recited this du`a: Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ص ّْؿ َعمَى م َح َّم ٍد َو آؿ ُم َح َّم ٍد ـ ي م ل ا َ َّ َ ُ ُ O Allah, (please do) send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ َّ ِ ِ ٱلر ِح ِيـ ف م ح ٱلر و م ٱل ـ س ب َّ َّ ْ ْ In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful bismillahi alrrahmini alrrahimi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ َّ َّ ض ِائ ِو َد ِاف ٌع ق ل س ي ل ي ذ ل ٱ و م ل د م ح ل ا ْ َ َ َ ُْ َ َ َْ Praise be to Allah Whose determination cannot be repelled by anything, alhamdu lillahi alladhi laysa liqada'ihi dafi`un Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ط ِائ ِو َم ِان ٌع ع ل َ َ ََوال Whose gifts cannot be stopped by anything, wa la li`ata'ihi mani`un Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ص ِان ٍع ع ن ص و ع ن ص ك ال و َ ْ ْ َ َ ُ ُ ُ َ and Whose making cannot be resembled by the making of anyone. wa la kasun`ihi sun`u sani`in Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اد ٱ ْلو اس ُع و ج ل ٱ و ى و ْ َ ُ َ َ َُ َ He is the All-magnanimous, the All-liberal. wa huwa aljawadu alwasi`u Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah اس ٱ ْل َب َد ِائ ِع ن اج ر ط ف َ َ َ َ ْ َ He originated the genus of the wonderfully created things fatara ajnasa albada'i`i Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ ٱلص َن ِائ َع و ت م ك ح ب ف ق ت ا و َّ َ ْ ْ َ َ َ and He perfected the made things by His wisdom. wa atqana bihikmatihi alssana'i`a Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ال تَ ْخفَى َعمَ ْي ِو ٱلطَّالَ ِئ ُع All growing things cannot be hidden from Him la takhfa `alayhi alttala'i`u Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َوالَ ت ضيعُ ِع ْن َدهُ ٱ ْل َوَد ِائ ُع َ and all things deposited with Him shall never be wasted. wa la tadi`u `indahu alwada'i`u Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ّْ ِ ص ِان ٍع ؿ ك ي از ج ُ َ َ He is the Repayer on every deed, jazi kulli sani`in Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ش ُك ّْؿ قَ ِان ٍع ي ُ َوَار the Enricher of every satisfied one, wa rayishu kulli qani`in Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ّْ ِض ار ٍع ؿ ك ـ اح ر و ُ َ ُ ََ the Merciful toward every supplicant, wa rahimu kulli dari`in Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وم ْن ِز ُؿ ٱ ْلم َن اف ِع َ َُ and the Revealer of the benefits wa munzilu almanafi`i Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱلس ِ ِ ِ ُّ ِ ِ اط ِع ور ٱلن ب ع ام ج ل ٱ اب ت ك ل ٱ و ِ َّ ْ ْ َ َ َ and the All-comprehensive Book with the glaring light. walkitabi aljami`i bilnnuri alssati`i Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ات س ِ مدعو ِ و ُىو َّ ام ٌع ل َ ََ َ َ He is also the Hearer of prayers, wa huwa lildda`awati sami`un Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وِل ْم ُكرب ات َد ِاف ٌع َُ َ wa lilkurubati dafi`un the Warder-off of anguishes, Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ مدرج ِ َّ ات َر ِاف ٌع ل و ََ َ the Raiser of ranks, wa lilddarajati rafi`un Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َوِل ْمجبا ِبرِة ق ام ٌع َ ََ َ and the Suppressor of the tyrants. wa liljababirati qami`un Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah فَالَ إِل َو َغ ْي ُرُه There is no god other than Him fala ilaha ghayruhu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ش ْي َء َي ْع ِدلُ ُو َ ََوال and there is nothing equivalent to Him wa la shay'a ya`diluhu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ش ْي ٌء و م ث م س َك ي ل و ْ َ َ َْ َ and nothing like a likeness of Him, wa laysa kamithlihi shay'un Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱلس ِميع ٱ ْلب ير ص و ى و َّ َُ َ ُ َ ُ and He is the All-hearing, the All-seeing, wa huwa alssami`u albasiru Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ِ ير ب خ ل ٱ يؼ ط م ٱل ْ َ ُ ُ the All-gentle, the All-aware, allatifu alkhabiru Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َشي ٍء ق ّْ ير د ؿ ك ى م ع و ى و َ ُ َ َ َُ َ ٌ ْ and He has power over all things. wa huwa `ala kulli shay'in qadirun Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ّْ ب إِلَ ْي َؾ غ ار ي ن إ ـ ي م ل ا َ َ َّ ُ ْ ُ O Allah, I willingly desire for You allahumma inni arghabu ilayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٱلرُبوِب َّي ِة لَ َؾ ُّ ش َي ُد ِب ْ َوا and I testify to the Lordship of You, wa ashhadu bilrrububiyyati laka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ُم ِقّارً ِب َّان َؾ َرّْبي confessing that You are verily my Lord muqirran bi'annaka rabbi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah اف إِلَ ْي َؾ َم َردّْي َّ َو and to You shall be my return. wa anna ilayka maraddi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِا ْبتَ َداتَِني ِب ِن ْع َم ِت َؾ You had begun bestowing on me ibtada'tani bini`matika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ك ا اف ؿ ب ق َ ًش ْيئاً َم ْذ ُكو ار ُ َ َ وف ْ ْ َ before I was anything worth mentioning, qabla an akuna shay'an madhkuran Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َو َخمَ ْقتَِني ِم َف ٱلتَُّر اب and You created me from dust. wa khalaqtani min altturabi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َِثُ َّـ اس َك ْنت ٱالصالَ َب ي ن ْ ْ You then put me up in the loins, thumma askantani al-aslaba Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ آمناً ِل َرْي ِب ٱ ْل َم ُن وف (making me) saved from vicissitudes of time, aminan liraybi almanuni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ ُّ يف ن ٱلس و ور ى ٱلد الؼ ت ٱخ و ّْ ْ َ َ ُ َ and change of ages and years. wakhtilafi aldduhuri walssinina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ص ْم ٍب إِلَى َر ِحٍـ ف م ا ن اع ظ ؿ از ـ م ف َ ً َ َ ْ َ ْ ُ ْ I was moving from a loin to a womb falam azal za`inan min sulbin ila rahimin Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱالي ِاـ ٱ ْلم ِ ِ ٍ اض َي ِة ف م ـ اد ق ت ي ف َّ َ َ ُ َ َ throughout the passage of the past days fi taqadumin min al-ayyami almadiyati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َوٱ ْلقُُر وف ٱ ْل َخ ِال َي ِة and the ancient ages; walquruni alkhaliyati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah لَ ْـ تُ ْخ ِر ْج ِني ِل َارفَ ِت َؾ ِبي as You have not taken me out (to this world)—on account of Your sympathy to me, lam tukhrijni lira'fatika bi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َولُ ْط ِف َؾ ِلي Your kindness to me, wa lutfika li Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah س ِان َؾ إِلَ َّي ح ا و ِ َ ْ َ and Your compassion to me— wa ihsanika ilayya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِفي َد ْولَ ِة ِائ َّم ِة ٱ ْل ُك ْف ِر in the government of the heads of unbelief fi dawlati a'immati alkufri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ضوٱ َع ْي َد َؾ ق ن يف ذ ل ٱ َ َ َ ُ who breached their covenant with You alladhina naqadu `ahdaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ و َك سمَ َؾ ر ٱ و ب ذ ُُ ُ َ and denied Your messengers. wa kadhdhabu rusulaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ َّ َّ ر اخ ؾ ن ك ج س ي ذ م ل ي ن ت ب ؽ ِلي ِم َف َ ْ َْ َ ل َ ََ ٱ ْل ُي َدى However, You took me out on account of the guidance that You have already known about me lakinnaka akhrajtani lilladhi sabaqa li min alhuda Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ س ْرتَِني ي و ل ي ذ َّ َ ُ َ َّٱل and You have made easy the way to it alladhi lahu yassartani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ شاتَِني ن ا يو ف َو ْ َ and You have brought me up in it. wa fihi ansha'tani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو ِم ْف قَ ْب ِؿ ذِل َؾ َر ُؤ ْف َت ِبي Even before that, You had compassion on me, wa min qabli dhalika ra'ufta bi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِبج ِ ص ْن ِع َؾ يؿ م َ ُ through Your excellent conferral bijamili sun`ika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah س َوا ِب ِغ ِن َع ِم َؾ و َ َ and Your affluent bestowals. wa sawabighi ni`amika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah فَ ْٱبتَ َد ْع َت َخ ْم ِقي ِم ْف َم ِن ٍّي ُي ْم َنى So, You fashioned my creation from semen that gushed forth fabtada`ta khalqi min maniyyin yumna Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ واس َك ْنتَِني ِفي ظُمُم ات ثَالَ ٍث ْ َ َ and put me up in triple darkness wa askantani fi zulumatin thalathin Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َب ْي َف لَ ْحٍـ َوَدٍـ َو ِج ْم ٍد among flesh, blood, and skin. bayna lahmin wa damin wa jildin Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ش ِي ْد ِني َخ ْم ِقي ْ ُلَ ْـ ت You have not made me witness my creation, lam tushhidni khalqi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ام ِري ف م ا ئ ي ش ي ل إ ؿ ع ج ت ـ ل و ً َ َ ْ َ َ َْ ْ َ ْ ْ ْ َّ and You have not referred any part of my creation to me. wa lam taj`al ilayya shay'an min amri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ َّ ؽ ِلي ِم َف ٱ ْل ُي َدى ب س ي ذ م ل ي ن ت ج ر اخ ـ ث ُ ْ َّ َ َ ََ َْ You then took me out on account of the guidance that You have already known about me thumma akhrajtani lilladhi sabaqa li min alhuda Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ُّ ا ام ت ا ي ن ٱلد ى ل إ ًس ِوّيا ً َ ْ َ َ ّ َ to the world, perfect and in sound health. ila alddunya tamman sawiyyan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ص ِب ّي ًا ال ف ط د ي م ل ٱ ي ف ي ن ت ظ ف ح و ْ ْ ً ْ َ ََ َْ َ You have safeguarded me in the cradle as small child. wa hafiztani fi almahdi tiflan sabiyyan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ورَزْقتَِني ِم َف ٱ ْل ِغ َذ اء لَ َبناً َم ِرّي ًا ََ You have provided me with wholesome milk as food. wa razaqtani min alghidha'i labanan mariyyan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ط ْف َت عمَ َّي ُقمُوب ٱ ْلحو اض ِف ع و َ َ ََ ََ َ You have made the hearts of the nursemaids tender. wa `atafta `alayya quluba alhawadini Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱلرو ِ ِ َّ اح َـ ات ي ٱالم ي ن ت م ف ك و ْ َّ َّ َ َ َ َ َ You have given me into the charge of merciful mothers. wa kaffaltani al-ummahati alrrawahima Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ط َو ِار اف ف م ي ن ّْ ؽ ٱ ْل َج َ ْ ََو َك َال ت You have saved me from the visits of the Jinn. wa kala'tani min tawariqi aljanni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ َّ ُّ ّْ ِص اف ق ٱلن و ة اد ي ٱلز ف م ي ن ت م م س و ْ َ َ َ ََ َ ْ َ َ You have delivered me from increase and decrease. wa sallamtani min alzziyadati walnnuqsani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ فَتَعالَ ْي َت يا ر يـ َيا َر ْحم ُف ح َ ُ َ َ So, Exalted be You, O All-merciful, O Allbeneficent. fata`alayta ya rahimu ya rahmanu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ت َن ِ َّ اطقاً ِبٱ ْل َكالَِـ م م ي ت ٱس ا ذ إ ى ت ح َ ْ َ َ ُ ْ ْ َ When I commenced (my life) by pronouncing words, hatta idha istahlaltu natiqan bilkalami Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ س َوا ِب َغ ٱإل ْن َع ِاـ ي م ع ت م م ت ا َ ْ َ َّ َ َ ْ َ You perfected for me the affluent bestowals, atmamta `alayya sawabigha al-in`ami Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوَرَّبيتَِني َز ِائداً ِفي ُك ّْؿ َع ٍاـ and brought me up with an increase every year. wa rabbaytani za'idan fi kulli `amin Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َحتَّى إِ َذا ٱ ْكتَ َممَ ْت ِف ْط َرِتي When my creation was accomplished, hatta idha iktamalat fitrati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٱعتَ َدلَ ْت ِمَّرِتي و ْ َ and my power became straight, wa`tadalat mirrati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ْاو َج ْب َت َعمَ َّي ُح َّجتَ َؾ You put me under the obligation of Your Claim, awjabta `alayya hujjataka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اف ا ْل َي ْمتَِني َم ْع ِرفَتَ َؾ ب ْ which is that You inspired me with recognition of You bi'an alhamtani ma`rifataka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوَرَّو ْعتَِني ِب َع َج ِائ ِب ِح ْك َم ِت َؾ and alarmed me by the wonders of Your wisdom, wa rawwa`tani bi`aja'ibi hikmatika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ات ِفي سم ِائ َؾ وار ِ ِ ض َؾ ر ذ ا م ل ي ن ت ظ ق اي و َ ْ َ َ َ َ َ َْ ْ َ ََ and You aroused in me that which You created in Your heavens and lands, wa ayqaztani lima dhara'ta fi sama'ika wa ardika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِم ْف َب َد ِائ ِع َخ ْم ِق َؾ which is the excellent creation of You. min bada'i`i khalqika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ش ْك ِر َؾ َوِذ ْك ِر َؾ ل ي ن ُ ََوَن َّب ْيت You attracted my attentions to thank and mention You. wa nabbahtani lishukrika wa dhikrika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ادتَ َؾ ب ع و ؾ ت اع ط ي م ع ت ب ج او و َ َ َ َ َ َ َ َ َّ َ َ ْ َ ْ َ You made obligatory on me to obey and worship You. wa awjabta `alayya ta`ataka wa `ibadataka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وفَ َّيمتَِني ما جاء ْت ِب سمُ َؾ ر و ُُ َ َ َ ْ َ You made me understand that with which Your Apostles came. wa fahhamtani ma ja'at bihi rusuluka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ض ِات َؾ ر م ؿ ب ق ت ي ل ت ر س ي و ُّ َّ َ َ َ َ ْ ََ َ َْ You made easy for me to find agreeable Your pleasure. wa yassarta li taqabbula mardatika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah يع ذِل َؾ ِ َو َم َن ْن َت َعمَ َّي ِفي َج ِم You bestowed upon me with the favor of all that, wa mananta `alayya fi jami`i dhalika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِب َع ْوِن َؾ َولُ ْط ِف َؾ out of Your aid and Your gentleness. bi`awnika wa lutfika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ثُ َّـ إِ ْذ َخمَ ْقتَِني ِم ْف َخ ْي ِر ٱلثََّرى As You created me from the best of soil, thumma idh khalaqtani min khayri alththara Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ اخ َرى وف د ة م ع ن ي ي ل إ ا ي ي ل ض ر ت ـ ل ً َ ْ َ ُ َْ َ َ ْ ْ َ You, my God, have not wanted for me to have a certain favor (and to be deprived of another) lam tarda li ya ilahi ni`matan duna ukhra Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اع ٱ ْل َم َع اش ِ َوَرَزْقتَِني ِم ْف ا ْن َو and You therefore provided me with the various kinds of living wa razaqtani min anwa`i alma`ashi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ٱلرَي اش وؼ ص ُن و ّْ ُ َ and types of wealth, wa sunufi alrriyashi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ظِـ َعمَ َّي ٱالع يـ ظ ِب َم ّْن َؾ ٱ ْل َع َ ْ out of Your great and grand conferral upon me, bimannaka al`azimi al-a`zami `alayya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah س ِان َؾ ٱ ْلقَ ِد ِيـ إِلَ َّي ح ا و ِ َ ْ َ and Your eternal kindness to me. wa ihsanika alqadimi ilayya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ حتَّى إِ َذا اتْمم َت عمَ َّي ج ّْ يع ٱلن َعِـ م َ َ َ َ َْ As You perfected for me all the graces hatta idha atmamta `alayya jami`a alnni`ami Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ّْ ص َرْف َت َع ّْني ُك َّؿ ٱلنقَِـ و َ َ and warded off all misfortunes, wa sarafta `anni kulla alnniqami Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah لَ ْـ َي ْم َن ْع َؾ َج ْيِمي َو ُج ْر ِاتي َعمَ ْي َؾ my ignorance of You and challenge have not stopped You lam yamna`ka jahli wa jur'ati `alayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah اف َدلَ ْمتَِني إِلَى َما ُيقَّْرُب ِني إِلَ ْي َؾ ْ from showing me that which takes me near to You, an dalaltani ila ma yuqarribuni ilayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوَوفَّ ْقتَِني ِل َما ُي ْزِلفُِني لَ َد ْي َؾ and from leading me to that which grants me proximity to You. wa waffaqtani lima yuzlifuni ladayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اج ْبتَِني ؾ ت و ع د ف إ ف َ َ ُ َ َْ َ ْ So, if I pray You, You will respond to me; fa'in da`awtuka ajabtani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ط ْيتَِني ؾ ت ل ا س ف ا و ِ َ اع ْ َ ُ ْ َ ْ َ and if I beg You, You will give me; wa in sa'altuka a`taytani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ش َك ْرتَِني َ َوِا ْف ا َ ط ْعتُ َؾ and if I obey You, You will thank me; wa in ata`tuka shakartani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ش َك ْرتُ َؾ ِزْدتَِني َ َوِا ْف and if I thank You, You will give me more. wa in shakartuka zidtani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ُك ُّؿ ذِل َؾ إِ ْك َماالً ال ْن ُع ِم َؾ َعمَ َّي All that is completion of Your favors for me, kullu dhalika ikmalan li'an`umika `alayya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah س ِان َؾ إِلَ َّي ح ا و ِ َ ْ َ and Your kindness to me. wa ihsanika ilayya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah س ْب َحا َن َؾ ؾ ن ا ح ب س ف َ َ َ َ ُْ ُ So, all glory be to You; all glory be to You. fasubhanaka subhanaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ ِم ْف م ْب ِدي م ِع يد ُ ً ُ You are verily Originator and Reproducer (of the creation) min mubdiyin mu`idin Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ يد م ِج ٍ ح ِم يد َ َ and worthy of all praise and full of all glory. hamidin majidin Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ اؤ َؾ ت س د ق ت و َ ُ اس َم َ ْ َْ َ Holy be Your Names wa taqaddasat asma'uka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah آالؤ َؾ ُ َو َعظُ َم ْت as Your bounties are so immeasurable. wa `azumat ala'uka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اح ِ ِ ِ ِ صي َع َدداً َوِذ ْك ارً؟ ي ي ل إ ا ي ؾ م ع ن اي ف َ َّ َ ْ َ َ Which of Your favors, O my God, can I count in numbers and examples? fa'ayya ni`amika ya ilahi uhsi `adadan wa dhikran Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ا ي ب ق ا اؾ اي ط ع اي اـ ُ َّ ًش ْك ار َ ُ َ وـ َ َ َ ْ ُ Or which of Your gifts can I thank properly? am ayya `atayaka aqumu biha shukran Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ اف ي ْح ِ و ي ى ي ر ا ر ث ك ا ب ف م ص ييا ّْ َ ْ ْ ْ ُ َ َ َ َ َ ُ ُّ وف اد َ ٱ ْل َع They are, O my Lord, too numerous to be counted by counters wa hiya ya rabbi aktharu min an yuhsiha al`adduna Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ وف ظ اف ح ل ٱ ا ي ب ا م م ع غ م ب ي او ُ ْ ً ْ َ ُ َ َْ ْ َ َ or to be realized by memorizers. aw yablugha `ilman biha alhafizuna Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ات َع ّْني ر د و ت ف ر ص ا م ـ ث ْ ُ َّ َ ََ َ َ َ َ َ Moreover, that which You have warded off and repelled, thumma ma sarafta wa darata `anni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱلضَّر اء َّ ٱلضّْر َو ُّ المَّ ُي َّـ ِم َف O Allah, from (the various kinds of) harm and mischief allahumma min alddurri walddarra'i Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱلسَّر ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ اء و ة ي اف ع ل ٱ ف م ي ل ر ي ظ ا م م ر ث ك ا َّ َ َ َ ْ َ َ َ َّ ْ ََ ُ is more than that which came to me from wellbeing and joy. aktharu mimma zahara li min al`afiyati walssarra'i Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِش َي ُد َيا إِل ِيي ِب َح ِقيقَ ِة إ يػم ِاني ا ا ن ا و َ ْ َ َ And I bear witness, O my God, with my true belief, wa ana ashhadu ya ilahi bihaqiqati imani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ات ي ِق ِ وع ْق ِد ع َزم يني َ َ َ ََ and the fortitude of the determinations of my conviction wa `aqdi `azamati yaqini Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ يح تَو ِح ِ و َخ ِ ِ يدي ر ص ص ال ِ ْ َ َ and the purity of my open belief in Your Oneness wa khalisi sarihi tawhidi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ض ِم ِ ِ يري وف ن ك م ف اط ب و ْ ُ َ ََ َ and the essence of the secret of my conscience, wa batini maknuni damiri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ ص ِري ب ور ن ي ار ج م ؽ ئ ال ع و َ ُ ََ ََ َ َ and the ties of the canals of the light of my sight, wa `ala'iqi majari nuri basari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ير ص ْفح ِة ج ِب ِ ِ يني ار اس و َ َ َ َ َ and the lines of my forehead wa asariri safhati jabini Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِس ِ ار ِب َن ْف ِسي م ؽ ر خ و ُ َ َ ْ َ and the hallows of the courses of my breath, wa khurqi masaribi nafsi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ار ِف ِعرِن ِ و َخ َذ ِار ِ يني م يؼ َ ْ َ and the (nasal) cavities of my nose, wa khadharifi marini `irnini Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ار ِب ِ س ْم ِعي اخ م ص س م و ِ َ َ ََ َ and the courses of the meatus of my hearing, wa masaribi simakhi sam`i Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اي ت ف ش و ي م ع ت ق ب ط ا و ت م ض ا م و ْ َ َ َ َّ َ َ ْ َ ْ َ َ ْ َ ََ َ and whatever my two lips hide and cover up, wa ma dammat wa atbaqat `alayhi shafataya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ات لَ ْف ِظ ِ وحرَك س ِاني ل َ ََ َ and the motions of the vocalization of my tongue, wa harakati lafzi lisani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو َم ْغ َر ِز َح َن ِؾ فَ ِمي َوفَ ّْكي and the socket of the palate of my mouth and jaw, wa maghrazi hanaki fami wa fakki Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اضر ِ ِ اسي ت ب ا ن م و َ َْ ََ and the matrices of my dents, wa manabiti adrasi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ش َرِبي م و ي م م و ِ س ْ َ َ اغ َم ْط َع َ ََ and the tasting of my food and my drink, wa masaghi mat`ami wa mashrabi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اـ ر ِ ِ اسي ة ل ا م ح و َ ّْ َ َ َ and the carrier of my skill, wa himalati ummi ra'si Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ََوُبمُوِع ف ار ِغ َح َب ِائ ِؿ ُع ُن ِقي and the tube of the tissues of my neck wa bulu`i farighi haba'ili `unuqi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ص ْد ِري ور ام ت و ي م ع ؿ م ت ش ٱ ا م و َ ْ َ َ َ َ ُ ُ َْ َ ََ and what is included by the cloak of my chest, wa ma ishtamala `alayhi tamuru sadri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وحم ِائ ِؿ ح ْب ِؿ وِت يني َ َ َََ and the carriers of the cord of my aorta, wa hama'ili habli watini Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وِني ِ اط ِح َج اب َق ْم ِبي َ َ and the cords of the pericardium of my heart, wa niyati hijabi qalbi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ الذ حو ِ وا ْف اشي َك ِب ِدي ََ َ and the pieces of the retinues of my liver, wa afladhi hawashi kabidi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اضالَ ِعي يؼ اس ر ش و ت و ح ا م و ْ َ ُ ْ َ ُ ََ َ َ and that which is included by the cartilages of my ribs, wa ma hawat-hu sharasifu adla`i Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َؽ مف ِ ِ اصِمي ا ق ح و َ َ َ and the cavities of my joints, wa hiqaqi mafasili Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ض عو ِ امِمي ب ق و َ ْ َ ََ and the interactings of my organisms, wa qabdi `awamili Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اؼ ا َن ِ وا ْطر امِمي َ َ and the extremes of my fingertips, wa atrafi anamili Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َولَ ْح ِمي َوَد ِمي and my flesh, and my blood, wa lahmi wa dami Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ش ِري َ ش ْع ِري َوَب َ َو and my hair, and my skin, wa sha`ri wa bashari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ص ِبي ق و ي ب ص ع و َ َ َ َ ََ and my nerve, and my sinews, wa `asabi wa qasabi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِظ امي َو ُم ّْخي َو ُع ُروِقي َ َو ِع and my bones, and my brain, and my veins, wa `izami wa mukhkhi wa `uruqi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah يع َج َو ِار ِحي ِ َو َج ِم and all of my organs, wa jami`i jawarihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ض ِ ِ اعي ر اـ اي ؾ ل ذ ى م ع ج س ت ن ٱ ا م و َّ َ ْ َ َ َ َ َ ََ ََ and that which was pieced together during the days of my suckling, wa ma intasaja `ala dhalika ayyama rida`i Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ض ِم ّْني ٱالر ت م ق ا ا م و َ ُ ْ ََ and whatever of my body that the ground carries, wa ma aqallat al-ardu minni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِظ ِ س ُكوِني و ي ت ق ي و ي م و ن و َ ْ َ ََ ْ َ ُ َ and my sleeping, and my wakefulness, and my motionlessness, wa nawmi wa yaqzati wa sukuni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ س ُج ِ ودي و ي وع ك ر ات ك ر ح و ُ َ ُ َ ُ ََ َ and the movements of my bowing and prostration; wa harakati ruku`i wa sujudi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِص ار ٱالع ى د م ت د ي ت ٱج و ت ل او ح و ل اف ْ َ َ ََ ُ َْ ْ َ ُ َ َ ْ ْ َ ْ (by all that I bear witness) that if I try my best and strive throughout all ages an law hawaltu wa ijtahadtu mada al-a`sari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َٱالحق اب لَ ْو ُع ّْم ْرتُ َيا و ْ َ and all times, if I live them, wal-ahqabi law `ummirtuha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ش ْكر و اح َد ٍة ِم ْف ا ْن ُع ِم َؾ ّْي د اؤ اف ُ َ ْ َ َ َ to thank properly only one of Your favors, an u'addiya shukra wahidatin min an`umika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ت ذِل َؾ ع ط ت ٱس ا م َ َ ُْ ْ َ I will not be able to do that, ma istata`tu dhalika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ِ ِ ّْ ِ ِ ش ْك ُر َؾ و ب ي م ع ب وج م ل ٱ ؾ ن م ب ال إ ْ َ ُ َ َّ َ َ ُ َ except through a favor of You, which also requires me to thank You for it, illa bimannika almujabi `alayya bihi shukruka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َابداً َج ِديد ًا once again with new thanking abadan jadidan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِط ارفاً َع ِتيد ًا ن ث و َ َ اء َ ً َ and with praise that is newly acquired and newly prepared. wa thana'an tarifan `atidan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ت ص ر ح و ل و ؿ اج َ ْ ُ ْ ََ ْ َ َ True is this! And if I try hard, ajal wa law harastu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وف ِم ْف ا َن ُّ ام َؾ اد ع ل ٱ و ا ن ا ْ َ َ َ َ as well as the counters from Your creatures, ana wal-`adduna min anamika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ صي م َدى إِ ْنع ِ اف ُن ْح ام َؾ ْ َ َ َ to count the scope of Your favoring, an nuhsiya mada in`amika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ س ِال ِف ِو و آن ِف ِو َ َ both the past and the present, salifihi wa anifihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ح ا م ًص ْرَناهُ َع َددا َ َ َ we shall never be able to calculate it in number, ma hasarnahu `adadan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah اه ن ي ص اح ال و ًامدا َ َ َ ُ َْ ْ َ or count it in time. wa la ahsaynahu amadan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ات َّانى ذِل َؾ ي ي ى َ َ َْ Too far is this! How can it be! hayhata anna dhalika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱلن َّ َوا ْن َت ٱ ْلم ْخ ِب ُر ِفي ِكتَا ِب َؾ ِ اط ؽ ُ While it is You Who have informed in Your rational Book wa anta almukhbiru fi kitabika alnnatiqi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱلص ِاد ؽ َّ َّ َو ٱلن َبِأ and true news: walnnaba'i alssadiqi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ُّ “وىا ص ح ت ال و م ال ة م ع ن ٱ و د ع ت ف ا و ” َ ِ َ ّ ُ َ َ ُ ْ ُ ْ َ َْ “And if you count Allah's favors, you will not be able to number them.” wa'in ta`uddu ni`mata allahi la tuhsuha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ اؤ َؾ ب ن ا و ـ ي م ٱل ؾ اب ت ك د ص ُ َ ْ ِ َ َّ ُ َ ُ َ ؽ َ ََ True is Your Book, O Allah, and Your informing. sadaqa kitabuka allahumma wa inba'uka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ سمُ َؾ ر و ؾ اؤ ي ب ن ا ت غ م ب و ْ َ َ ُ َ ْ ََ ُ َُ Your Prophets and Messengers have conveyed wa ballaghat anbiya'uka wa rusuluka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َما ا ْن َزْل َت َعمَ ْي ِي ْـ ِم ْف َو ْح ِي َؾ what You revealed to them, from Your Revelation, ma anzalta `alayhim min wahyika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ شر ْع َت لَيـ وِب ِيـ ِم ْف ِد ين َؾ و َ ْ َ ُْ َ َ and what You have made plain for them and through them Your religion. wa shara`ta lahum wa bihim min dinika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َغ ْي َر ّْاني َيا إِل ِيي Nevertheless, O my God, ghayra anni ya ilahi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ش َي ُد ِب ُج ْي ِدي َو ِجدّْي ْا I bear witness by my ultimate possibility and my diligence ashhadu bijuhdi wa jiddi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َطاق س ِعي و و ي ت غ م ب م و ِ َ َ َْ َ ْ َُ and the scope of my vigor and my capacity, wa mablaghi taqati wa wus`i Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ًَواقُو ُؿ ُم ْؤ ِمناً ُموِقنا and I say with full faith and conviction: wa aqulu mu'minan muqinan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ا ْل َح ْم ُد ِلمَّ ِو ٱلَِّذي لَ ْـ َيتَّ ِخ ْذ َولَد ًا All praise be to Allah Who has not taken to Himself a son alhamdu lillahi alladhi lam yattakhidh waladan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ك ي ف َ ًوف َم ْوُروثا ُ َ َ to be inherited, fayakuna mawruthan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ش ِري ٌؾ ِفي ُم ْم ِك ِو َ َولَ ْـ َي ُك ْف لَ ُو and Who does not have a partner in His kingdom, wa lam yakun lahu sharikun fi mulkihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ُّ ع د ت ٱب ا يم ف ه اد ض ي ف َ َ ََ ْ َ ُ َ ُ to oppose Him in what He fashions, fayudadduhu fima ibtada`a Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ُّ والَ وِل ّّي ِم َف ٱلذ ّْؿ َ َ and Who does not have a helper to save Him from disgrace, wa la waliyyun min aldhdhulli Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ُفَيرِف َده ص َن َع ا يم ف َ َ ُْ to help Him in what He makes. fayurfidahu fima sana`a Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah س ْب َحا َن ُو و ن ا ح ب س ف َ َ ُ ُ َ ُْ So, glory be to Him, glory be to Him. fasubhanahu subhanahu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ َّ َّ ِ ِ و ل اف ك م ي ي ف ي آل ا و م ٱل ال إ ة ف ل س َدتَا ٌ َ َ َ َ ُ َ ْ َ َ َ َوتَفَطَّ َرتَا If there had been in them any gods except Allah, they would both have certainly been in a state of disorder and destruction. law kana fihima alihatun illa allahu lafasadata wa tafattarata Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ َّ ٱلص َم ِد د ٱالح د اح و ل ٱ و م ٱل اف ح ب س َّ ْ َ َ ُْ َ َ All glory be to Allah, the One, the Only One, the Besought of all, subhana allahi alwahidi al-ahadi alssamadi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َولَ ْـ ُيولَ ْد ٱلَِّذي لَ ْـ َيِم ْد Who begets not nor is He begotten, alladhi lam yalid wa lam yulad Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah اح ٌد ا و ف ك و ل ف ك ي ـ ل و ُ ً َ َ ُ ُ ُ ْ َ ْ َ َ and there is none like Him. wa lam yakun lahu kufwan ahadun Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ا ْلحم ُد ِلمَّ ِو حمداً يع ِاد ُؿ حم َد م الئ َك ِت ِو َُ ْ َ َْ َ َْ ِ يف ب َ ٱ ْل ُمقََّر All praise be to Allah—praise that is equal to the praise of His Favorite Angels, alhamdu lillahi hamdan yu`adilu hamda mala'ikatihi almuqarrabina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ يف م س ر م ل ٱ و ائ ي ب ن ا و ْ ْ َ َ ُْ َ َ and His missioned Prophets. wa anbiya'ihi almursalina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah صمَّى ٱلمَّ ُو َعمَى ِخ َي َرِت ِو و َ َ May Allah send blessings to His Select, wa salla allahu `ala khiyaratihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ ِ َّ ِ يف ي ب ٱلن ـ ات خ د م ح م ّْ َّ َ َ َ َُ Muhammad, the Seal of Prophets, muhammadin khatami alnnabiyyina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ َّ َّ ِ ِ و يف ب ي ٱلط و آل يف ر اى ٱلط م ل ٱ يف ص م خ ّْ ْ َ ْ َ َ َ ُ َ سمَّ َـ و َ َ and upon his Household, the pure, immaculate, and well-chosen, and may He send benedictions upon them. wa alihi alttayyibina alttahirina almukhlasina wa sallama Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah Imam Husain (á) then besought Almighty Allah so earnestly that his eyes shed tears. He then said: ِ َّ ّْ اؾ ار ي ان ك اؾ ش اخ ي ن م ع ٱج ـ ي م ل ا ْ َ ْ َّ َ َ َ َ َ َْ ُ O Allah, (please) make me fear You as if I can see You. allahumma ij`alni akhshaka ka'anni araka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ اؾ و ق ت ب ي ن د ع اس و َ َْ َ ْ ْ َ Make happy by fearing You. wa as`idni bitaqwaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ش ِق ِني ِبمع ص َي ِت َؾ ت ال و َ ْ ُ َْ َ Do not make me unhappy by disobeying You. wa la tushqini bima`siyatika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ض ِائ َؾ ق ي ف ي ل ر خ و َ َ ْ َ Choose for me through Your decree. wa khir li fi qada'ika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َوَب ار ْؾ ِلي ِفي قَ َد ِر َؾ Bless me through Your determination, wa barik li fi qadarika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ َّ يؿ َما اخ ْر َت ج ع ت ب اح َحتَّى ال َّ َ َْ so that I will not long for hastening that which You have delayed hatta la uhibba ta`jila ma akhkharta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َوالَ ت ير َما َع َّج ْم َت اخ َ َ or delaying that which You would hasten. wa la ta'khira ma `ajjalta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ اي ِفي َن ْف ِسي ن غ ؿ ع ٱج ـ ي م ل ا َ َّ ْ َ َ َْ ُ O Allah, (please) make my richness in my conscience, allahumma ij`al ghinaya fi nafsi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ يف ِفي َق ْم ِبي ق ي ل ٱ و ْ َ َ َ conviction in my hear, walyaqina fi qalbi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ص ِفي َع َمِمي ال خ ٱإل و َ ْ َ َ sincerity in my deeds, wal-ikhlasa fi `amali Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱلنور ُّ ص ِري ب ي ف و َ َ َْ َ light in my sight, walnnura fi basari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ صيرةَ ِفي ِد ِ وٱ ْلب يني َ َ َ and insight in my religion. walbasirata fi dini Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو َمتّْ ْع ِني ِب َج َو ِار ِحي Make me find enjoyment in my organs. wa matti`ni bijawarihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱجع ْؿ سم ص ِري ٱ ْل َو ِارثَْي ِف ِم ّْني ب و ي ع و َ ََ َْ َْ َ Make my hearing and my sight sound until I am inherited. waj`al sam`i wa basari alwarithayni minni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ظمَ َم ِني ن ٱ و َ ص ْرِني َعمَى َم ْف ْ ُ َ Grant me victory over him who wrongs me, wansurni `ala man zalamani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ و ِارِني ِف ِ اري َو َم ِ َيو ث آرِبي َ make me witness my avenge and objective in him, wa arini fihi tha'ri wa ma'aribi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو ِاقَّر ِبذِل َؾ َع ْي ِني and make it the delight of my eye. wa aqirra bidhalika `ayni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ؼ ُك ْرَب ِتي ش ك ٱ ـ ي م ل ا َ ْ َّ ْ ُ O Allah, (please) relieve my agony, allahumma ikshif kurbati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٱستُْر َع ْوَرِتي و ْ َ conceal my flaws, wastur `awrati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ يئ ِتي ط خ ي ل ر ف غ ٱ و ْ َ َ ْ َ forgive my sin, waghfir li khati'ati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ط ِاني ٱخ و َ ش ْي ْ َ سا َ َ drive away my devil from me, wakhsa' shaytani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوفُ َّؾ ِرَى ِاني redeem my mortgage, wa fukka rihani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ٱج َع ْؿ ِلي َيا إِل ِيي ٱلد َر َج َة ٱ ْل ُع ْم َيا و ْ َ and decide for me, O my God, the supreme rank waj`al li ya ilahi alddarajata al`ulya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوٱالولَى ِ ِفي ٱآلخ َرِة in the Hereafter and in the former (life). fi al-akhirati wal-ula Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah المَّ ُي َّـ لَ َؾ ٱ ْل َح ْم ُد َك َما َخمَ ْقتَِني O Allah, all praise be to You for You have created me allahumma laka alhamdu kama khalaqtani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ فَجع ْمتَِني س ِميعاً ب صي اًر َ َ ََ and made me hear and see. faja`altani sami`an basiran Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َولَ َؾ ٱ ْل َح ْم ُد َك َما َخمَ ْقتَِني All praise be to You for you have created me wa laka alhamdu kama khalaqtani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ س ِوّياً َر ْح َم ًة ِبي ا ق م خ ي ن ت م ع ج ف َ ً ْ ْ َ َ َ ََ and made my creation perfect, on account of Your having mercy on me, faja`altani khalqan sawiyyan rahmatan bi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوقَ ْد ُك ْن َت َع ْف َخ ْم ِقي َغ ِن ّي ًا and You could dispense with creating me. wa qad kunta `an khalqi ghaniyyan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ب ِب َما َب َراتَِني فَ َع َّد ْل َت ِف ْط َرِتي ّْ َر O my Lord, as You gave rise to me and perfected my creation; rabbi bima bara'tani fa`addalta fitrati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ورِتي ص ت ن س اح ف ي ن ات ش ن ا ا م ب ب ر َ ّْ ْ ْ َ َ َ ُ َ َ ْ َ َ O my Lord, as You originated me and did well my form; rabbi bima ansha'tani fa'ahsanta surati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ر م ب ب اح ا س ْن َت إِلَ َّي َوِفي َن ْف ِسي ّْ َ ْ َ َ َعافَ ْيتَِني O my Lord, as You conferred favors on me and granted me wellbeing in my self; rabbi bima ahsanta ilayya wa fi nafsi `afaytani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ب ِب َما َك َال تَِني َوَوفَّ ْقتَِني ّْ َر O my Lord, as You saved me and led me to success; rabbi bima kala'tani wa waffaqtani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ب ِب َما ا ْن َع ْم َت َعمَ َّي فَ َي َد ْيتَِني ّْ َر O my Lord, as You bestowed favors on me and guided me; rabbi bima an`amta `alayya fahadaytani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ّْ ٍ ط ْيتَِني اع ر ي خ ؿ ك ف م و ي ن ّْ َر َ ْ ْ َ ُ ْ َ َب ِب َما ْاولَ ْيت O my Lord, as You presented me and gave me from every good; rabbi bima awlaytani wa min kulli khayrin a`taytani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َِب ِبما ا ْطعمت سقَ ْيتَِني و ي ن ر ّْ َ َ َْ َ َ O my Lord, as you fed me and watered me; rabbi bima at`amtani wa saqaytani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ب ِب َما ا ْغ َن ْيتَِني َوا ْق َن ْيتَِني ّْ َر O my Lord, as You enriched me and gave me to hold; rabbi bima aghnaytani wa aqnaytani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ اع َزْزتَِني و ي ن ت ن اع ا م ب ب ر ّْ ْ َ ْ َ َ َ َ O my Lord, as You helped me and braced me; rabbi bima a`antani wa a`zaztani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱلص ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ افي ؾ ر ت س ف م ي ن س َت ب ل ا ا م ب ب ر ّْ َّ َ ْ ْ ْ َْ َ َ O my Lord, as you clothed me from Your pure cover rabbi bima albastani min sitrika alssafi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ سر َت ِلي ِم ْف ص ْن ِع َؾ ٱ ْل َك افي ي و َّ ُ ْ ََ and made easy for me Your adequate making, wa yassarta li min sun`ika alkafi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ص ّْؿ َعمَى م َح َّم ٍد َو آؿ ُم َح َّم ٍد َ ُ so, (please) send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِو ِ ٱلد ُى ِ اع ّْني َعمَى َب َو ِائ ُّ ؽ ور َ help me against calamities of ages wa a`inni `ala bawa'iqi aldduhuri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وصر ٱالي ِاـ َّ وؼ ٱلمَّ َي ِالي َو ُُ َ and changes of nights and days, wa surufi allayali wal-ayyami Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ُّ اى َو ِاؿ ٱلد ْن َيا ف م ي ن َوَن ّْج ْ ْ rescue me from the horrors of this world wa najjini min ahwali alddunya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ات ِ و ُكرب ٱآلخ َرِة َُ َ and the anguishes of the Hereafter, wa kurubati al-akhirati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ َّ و م ر ش ي ن ف ك ٱ ي ا ع م م ال ٱلظ ؿ وف ِفي َّ ْ ُ َ َ ُ َ ََْ َ ِ ٱالر ض ْ and save me from the evils of what the wrongdoers do in the earth. wakfini sharra ma ya`malu alzzalimuna fi al-ardi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ اؼ فَٱ ْك ِف ِني اخ ا م ـ ي َّ ُ َ َ ُ الم O Allah, as to what I anticipate, (please) save me (from it). allahumma ma akhafu fakfini Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah اح َذ ُر فَ ِق ِني ا م و ْ ََ As to what I watch out, (please) protect me (against it). wa ma ahdharu faqini Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ س ِني ر ٱح ف ي ين د و ي س ف ن ي ف و َ ْ َ ْ ُْ َ َ Safeguard me in my soul and religion, wa fi nafsi wa dini fahrusni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ٱحفَ ْظ ِني ف ي ر ف س ي ف و َ َ ْ َ َ watch over me in my journeys, wa fi safari fahfazni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ٱخمُ ْف ِني ف ي ال م و ي م اى ي ف و َ ْ ْ َ ََ be in charge of my family members and properties during my absence, wa fi ahli wa mali fakhlufni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َوِفي َما َرَزْقتَِني فَ َب ار ْؾ ِلي bless me in that which You provide as sustenance, wa fima razaqtani fabarik li Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوِفي َن ْف ِسي فَ َذلّْ ْم ِني make me see myself as humble, wa fi nafsi fadhallilni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ّْ اس فَ َع ِ َّ اع ُي ِف ِ ٱلن ظ ْم ِني ي ف و ْ َ make people see me as great, wa fi a`yuni alnnasi fa`azzimni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ سمّْ ْم ِني ف س ن ٱإل و ف ج ل ٱ ر ش ف م و ّْ َ ْ ْ ّْ َ ْ َ َ َ keep me sound from the evils of the Jinn and people, wa min sharri aljinni wal-insi fasallimni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ض ْح ِني ف ت ال ف ي ب و ن ذ ب و َ ُ ْ َ ُ َ َ َ do not disclose me because of my sins, wa bidhunubi fala tafdahni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ يرِتي فَالَ تُ ْخ ِزِني ر س ب و َ َ َ do not disgrace me because of the secret side (of myself), wa bisarirati fala tukhzini Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوِب َع َمِمي فَالَ تَ ْبتَِم ِني do not try me in my deeds, wa bi`amali fala tabtalini Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ سمُ ْب ِني ت ال ف ؾ م ع ن و َ َ َ َ ْ ََ َ do not deprive me of Your bounties, wa ni`amaka fala taslubni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوِالَى َغ ْي ِر َؾ فَالَ تَ ِك ْم ِني and do not refer me to anyone other than You. wa ila ghayrika fala takilni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah إِل ِيي إِلَى َم ْف تَ ِكمُِني To whom do You entrust me? ilahi ila man takiluni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ إِلَى قَ ِر ط ُع ِني َ يب فَ َي ْق To a relative, and he will rupture my relation with him! ila qaribin fayaqta`uni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ اـ إِلَى ب ِع يد فَ َيتَ َج َّي ُم ِني َ ْ Or to a strange, and he will glower at me! am ila ba`idin fayatajahhamuni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ يف ِلي ف ع ض ت س م ل ٱ ى ل إ اـ ْ َ َ َ ْ ْ ُ ْ Or to those who deem me weak! am ila almustad`ifina li Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ام ِري ؾ ي م م و ي ب ر ت ن ا و ّْ ْ ُ ْ ََ َ َ َ While You are my Lord and the master of my affairs! wa anta rabbi wa maliku amri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ش ُكو إِلَ ْي َؾ ُغ ْرَب ِتي َوُب ْع َد َد ِاري ْا I complain to You about my alienation and my foreignness ashku ilayka ghurbati wa bu`da dari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ام ِري و ت ك م م ف م ى م ع ي ان و ى و َ ْ َ ََ َ ْ ُ َ َْ َ and my ignominy in the eyes of him whom You have given domination over me. wa hawani `ala man mallaktahu amri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ض َب َؾ غ ي م ع ؿ م ح ت ال ف ي ي ل إ َ َ َ َ ْ ُ َ َّ َ ْ So, O my God, do not make Your wrath come upon me. ilahi fala tuhlil `alayya ghadabaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ فَِإ ْف لَـ تَ ُك ْف َغ ض ْب َت َعمَ َّي فَالَ َاب ِالي ْ ِ اؾ و س َ َ If You are not wrathful with me, then I care for nothing save You. fa'in lam takun ghadibta `alayya fala ubali siwaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ سعُ ِلي او ؾ ت ي اف ع اف َّ ر ي غ ؾ ن ا ح ب س َ َ َ َ َ َ ُْ َ ْ َ َ َْ All glory be to You; yet, Your granting me wellbeing is more favorable for me. subhanaka ghayra anna `afiyataka awsa`u li Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ب ِب ُن ور َو ْج ِي َؾ ف َ ّْ اسالُ َؾ َيا َر ْ So, I beseech You, O my Lord, in the name of the Light of Your Face fa'as'aluka ya rabbi binuri wajhika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ات او م ٱلس و ض ٱالر و ل ت ق ر ش ا ي ذ ل ٱ َ َّ َ ْ ُ ََ َ ُ ْ ُ ْ َ to which the earth and the heavens have shone, alladhi ashraqat lahu al-ardu walssamawatu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ُّ ِ ات م م ٱلظ و ب ت ف ش ك و َ ُ ُ ْ ُ َ َ by which all darkness has been uncovered, wa kushifat bihi alzzulumatu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ يف ر ٱآلخ و يف ل ٱالو ر ام و ب ح م ص و َّ ُ َ َ َ َ َ َ ُْ and by which the affairs of the past and the coming generations are made right, wa saluha bihi amru al-awwalina wal-akhirina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ض ِب َؾ غ ى م ع ي ن يت م ت ال اف َ َ َ َ ُ ْ َ َ (please) do not cause me to die while You are wrathful with me an la tumitani `ala ghadabika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ط َؾ ي ب ؿ ز ن ت ال و َ س َخ َ ْ ْ ُ َ َ and do not inflict on me Your rage. wa la tunzil bi sakhataka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah لَ َؾ ٱ ْل ُعتْ َبى لَ َؾ ٱ ْل ُعتْ َبى You have the right to scold; You have the right to scold; laka al`utba laka al`utba Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ضى قَ ْب َؿ ذِل َؾ ر ت ى ت ح َ َ ْ َ until You are pleased (with me) before that. hatta tarda qabla dhalika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah الَ إِل َو إِالَّ ا ْن َت There is no god save You; la ilaha illa anta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٱ ْل َح َرِاـ ب ٱ ْلَبمَ ِد ُّ َر Lord of the Holy City, rabbu albaladi alharami Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ش َع ِر ٱ ْل َح َرِاـ ْ َوٱ ْل َم the Holy Monument, walmash`ari alharami Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َوٱ ْل َب ْي ِت ٱ ْل َع ِتي ؽ and the Ancient House walbayti al`atiqi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ احمَ ْمتَ ُو ٱ ْل َب َرَك َة ي ذ ل ٱ ْ that You have encompassed with blessing alladhi ahlaltahu albarakata Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وجع ْمتَ ُو َّ ِ امن ًا اس من ل ََ َ ْ and made security for people. wa ja`altahu lilnnasi amnan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ُّ يا م ْف عفَا ع ْف ع ِظ ِيـ ِ ٱلذ ُن وب ِب ِح ْم ِم ِو َ َ َ َ َ O He Who pardoned the grand sins by His forbearance! ya man `afa `an `azimi aldhdhunubi bihilmihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ضِم ِو ف ب اء م ع ٱلن غ ب اس ف م ا ي َ َ ْ َ َْ َْ ْ َ َ O He Who bestowed bounties by His favoring! ya man asbagha alnna`ma'a bifadlihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah يؿ ِب َك َرِم ِو ف م ا ي َ اع َ طى ٱ ْل َج ِز ْ َْ َ O He Who gave in abundance by His generosity! ya man a`ta aljazila bikaramihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َيا ُع َّد ِتي ِفي ِش َّد ِتي O my means in my hardship! ya `uddati fi shiddati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ يا ص اح ِبي ِفي َو ْح َد ِتي َ َ O my companion in my loneliness! ya sahibi fi wahdati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َيا ِغ َي ِاثي ِفي ُك ْرَب ِتي O my relief in my agony! ya ghiyathi fi kurbati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َيا َوِل ّْيي ِفي ِن ْع َم ِتي O my Benefactor in my amenities! ya waliyyi fi ni`mati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ آب ِائي و ل ا و ي ي ل إ ا ي ِ َ َ َ َ O my God and the God of my forefathers: ya ilahi wa ilaha aba'i Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ يؿ اع م س ا و يـ اى ر ب ِ َ َ ْ َ َ َْإ Abraham, Ishmael, ibrahima wa isma`ila Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah وب ق ع ي و اؽ ح س ا و ِ ُ َ ََْ َ َ ْ َ Isaac, and Jacob; wa ishaqa wa ya`quba Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ يؿ اف ر س ا و يؿ ائ ك ي م و يؿ ائ َّ َوَر َ َ ْ ِ َ َ َ َ َ ب َج ْب َر the Lord of Gabriel, Michael, and Seraph; wa rabba jabra'ila wa mika'ila wa israfila Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ ِ َّ ِ يف ي ب ٱلن ـ ات خ د م ح م ب ر و َّ ّْ َّ َ َ َ َُ ََ the Lord of Muhammad, the Seal of Prophets, wa rabba muhammadin khatami alnnabiyyina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ يف ب ج ت ن م ل ٱ و آل و ْ ْ َ َ َ ُ َ and his elite Household; wa alihi almuntajabina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وم ْن ِز َؿ ٱلتَّور ِ ٱإل ْن ِج ِ اة َو يؿ َْ َُ the Revealer of the Torah, the Gospel, wa munzila alttawrati wal-injili Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ َو ِ َور َوٱ ْلفُْرق ِ ٱلزُب اف the Psalms, and the Furqan; walzzaburi walfurqani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو ُم َنّْز َؿ كييعص َوطو َويس the Revealer of kaf-ha-ya-`ayn-sad and taha, ya-sin, wa munazzila kaf-ha-ya-`ain-sad wa ta-ha wa yasin Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َوٱ ْلقُْر آف ٱ ْل َح ِك ِيـ and the Qur'an, full of wisdom. walqur'ani alhakimi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ يف تُع ِي ِ يني ٱ ْلم َذ ت ن ا ي ك ح ي ف اى ب ِفي ْ َ َ ُ َ ْ ْ َ س َع ِت َيا َ You are my haven when the wide courses fail to carry me anta kahfi hina tu`yini almadhahibu fi sa`atiha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ض ِب ُر ْح ِب َيا ٱالر ي ب يؽ ض ت و َ ُ ْ َ ُ َ and when the earth, despite its width, become too narrow to bear me. wa tadiqu biya al-ardu biruhbiha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ يف ك ال ي ل ٱ ف م ت ن ك ل ؾ ت م ح ر ال و ل و ْ َ َ َ ْ ُ َ ُ َ َ َ ُ ََْ ْ َ Without Your mercy, I would have been of those perishing. wa lawla rahmatuka lakuntu min alhalikina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوا ْن َت ُم ِقي ُؿ َعثَْرِتي You overlook my slips; wa anta muqilu `athrati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ و و ل ال اي ي ن ك ل ت ِم َف َّ َ َ ُ ْ ُ َ َ ستُْر َؾ إ َ ْ َ ِ يف وح َ ض ُ ٱ ْل َم ْف and without Your covering me, I would have been of those exposed. wa lawla satruka iyyaya lakuntu min almafduhina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ِ ِ اع َد ِائي ى م ع ر ص ٱلن ب ي د ي ؤ م ت ن ا و ّْ َ ْ َ ْ َ ْ ُ َ َ You aid me with Your support against my enemies; wa anta mu'ayyidi bilnnasri `ala a`da'i Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ يف ب و م غ م ل ٱ ف م ت ن ك ل اي ي إ ؾ ر ص ن ال و ل و َّ ْ َ ْ ُ َ َ ْ َ ُ َ َ ْ َ َ ُْ َ َ ُ and without Your support, I would have been of those overwhelmed. wa lawla nasruka iyyaya lakuntu min almaghlubina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٱلرْف َع ِة ف ن ص خ ف م ا ي ْ ُّ س ُو ِب َّ ّْ ٱلس ُم ّْو َو َ َ َْ َ َ O He Who gives Himself exclusively superiority and highness; ya man khassa nafsahu bilssumuwwi walrrif`ati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ ُّ ّْ وف ز ت ع ي ه ز ع ب ه اؤ ي ل او ف َ ُ َ َ َْ ُ َ ْ so, His friends pride themselves on account of His pride. fa'awliya'uhu bi`izzihi ya`tazzuna Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ يا م ْف جعمَ ْت لَ ُو ٱ ْلممُو ُؾ ن ير ٱ ْل َم َذلَّ ِة ََ َ َ َ ُ ِ اع َن اق ِي ْـ ْ َعمَى O He for Whom the kings put the yoke of humiliation on their necks; ya man ja`alat lahu almuluku nira almadhallati `ala a`naqihim Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ وف ف ائ خ و ات و ط س ف م ـ ي ف َ ُ َ َ َ َ َ ْ ُْ for they are fearful of His authority. fahum min satawatihi kha'ifuna Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ور د ٱلص ي ف خ ت ا م و ف ي ٱالع ة ن ائ خ َ ُّ ْ َ َ ُ ُ ُ َ َ ُْ َي ْعمَ ُـ He knows the stealthy looks of eyes and that which the breasts conceal ya`lamu kha'inata al'a`yuni wa ma tukhfi alssuduru Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ ُّ ور ى ٱلد و ة ن م ٱالز و ب ي ات ت ا م ب ي غ و ُ َ َ ْ َ ُ ُ َ َ َْ َ and the future of the times and ages. wa ghayba ma ta'ti bihi al'azminatu waldduhuru Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ؼ ُى َو إِالَّ ُى َو َ َيا َم ْف الَ َي ْعمَ ُـ َك ْي O He save Whom none knows how He is! ya man la ya`lamu kayfa huwa illa huwa Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َما ُى َو إِالَّ ُى َو َيا َم ْف الَ َي ْعمَ ُـ O He save Whom none knows what He is! ya man la ya`lamu ma huwa illa huwa Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َما َي ْعمَ ُم ُو إِالَّ ُى َو َيا َم ْف الَ َي ْعمَ ُـ O He save Whom none knows what He knows! ya man la ya`lamu ma ya`lamuhu illa huwa Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ض عمَى ٱ ْلم اء ٱالر س ب ك ف م ا ي َ َ َ ْ َ َ َْ َ َ O He Who surfaced the earth over the water ya man kabasa al-arda `ala alma'i Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱلسم ِ َّ اء ب اء و ي ل ٱ د س و َّ ْ َ ََ َ َ َ and blocked the air with the heavens! wa sadda alhawa'a bilssama'i Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ يا م ْف لَ ُو ا ْكرـ ٱالسم اء َ ْ َُ َ َ O He Who has the noblest of names! ya man lahu akramu al-asma'i Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ يا َذا ٱ ْلمعر وؼ ٱلَِّذي الَ َي ْنقَ ِطعُ َابد ًا َ ُْ َ O Owner of favor that is never interrupted! ya dhalma`rufi alladhi la yanqati`u abadan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ي ل ب وس ؼ ِفي ٱ ْلَبمَ ِد َّ ض َ ُ ُ ٱلرْك َ َيا ُمقَ ّْي ٱ ْلقَ ْف ِر O He Who directed the caravan towards Joseph in the wasteland, ya muqayyida alrrakbi liyusufa fi albaladi alqafri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ب ّْ َو ُم ْخ ِر َج ُو ِم َف ٱ ْل ُج took him out of the pit, wa mukhrijahu min aljubbi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وج ِ اعمَ ُو َب ْع َد ٱ ْل ُع ُب ود َّي ِة َمِمك ًا ََ and made him king after enslavement! wa ja`ilahu ba`da al`ubudiyyati malikan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ وب ق ع ي ى م ع ه اد ر ا ي ُ َ َ َْ َ ُ َ َ O He Who had returned him to Jacob ya raddahu `ala ya`quba Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َب ْع َد ض ْت َع ْي َناهُ ِم َف ٱ ْل ُح ْز ِف فَ ُي َو َّ اف ْٱب َي ِ َك يـ ظ ٌ after his eyes became white on account of the grief, and he was a repressor of grief! ba`da an ibyaddat `aynahu min alhuzni fahuwa kazimun Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وب اي ف ع ى و م ب ل ٱ و ر ٱلض ؼ اش ك ا ي ُّ ُّ ْ ْ ّْ َ َ َْ ََ َ َ َ O He Who removed the distress and misfortune from Job ya kashifa alddurri walbalwa `an ayyuba Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ومم ِس َؾ ي َدي إِ ْبر يـ َع ْف َذ ْب ِح ْٱب ِن ِو اى ُْ َ َ َ ْ َ and withheld the hands of Abraham from slaying his son wa mumsika yaday ibrahima `an dhabhi ibnihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ بع َد ِكب ِر ِس ّْن ِو وفَ َن اء ُع ُم ِرِه َ َْ َ after his old age and termination of his lifetime! ba`da kibari sinnihi wa fana'i `umurihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اب ِل َزَك ِرَّيا ج ت ٱس ف م ا ي َ َ َ ْ َ َ O He Who responded to Zachariah ya man istajaba lizakariyya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah فَ َو َى َب لَ ُو َي ْح َيى and granted him John fawahaba lahu yahya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َولَ ْـ َي َد ْع ُو فَ ْرداً َو ِحيد ًا without leaving him alone and lonely! wa lam yada`hu fardan wahidan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اخرج يوُنس ِم ْف ب ْط ِف ٱ ْلح وت ف م ا ي ْ ُ َ َ ُ ََ َْ َ O He Who took Jonah out of the belly of the big fish! ya man akhraja yunusa min batni alhuti Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ يؿ ائ ر س إ ي ن ب ل ر ح ب ل ٱ ؽ م ف ف م ا ي َ ْ َ َ َْ َ َْ َ َ ْ َ َ O He Who cleft the sea to the children of Israel; ya man falaqa albahra libani isra'ila Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ر ف ع و ف و ج ن ودهُ ِم َف ُ فَا ْن َج َ ُ ُ َ َ ْ َ ْ اى ْـ َو َج َع َؿ ِ يف ق َ ٱ ْل ُم ْغ َر so, He saved them and made Pharaoh and his army of the drowned! fa'anjahum wa ja`ala fir`awna wa junudahu min almughraqina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ ّْ ي م ا ف ار س ي ٱلر ؿ اح م ب ر ش ب ات ي ف ي د ي ّْ َ ْ َ ْ َ َ َْ َ َُ َ َ َ ْ َ َ َر ْح َم ِت ِو O He Who sent the winds, bearing good news, before His mercy! ya man arsala alrriyaha mubashshiratin bayna yaday rahmatihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ي م ا ف ـ ل ي ع ج ع ؿ م ى م ف ع صاهُ ِم ْف َ َ ْ ْ ْ َ َ َ َ َ َْ ْ َ َ َخ ْم ِق ِو O He Who has no hastiness on His creatures who disobey Him! ya man lam ya`jal `ala man `asahu min khalqihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ُٱلس َحرةَ ِم ْف َب ْع ِد ط ِ ي م ا ٱس ف ذ ق ن ت وؿ َ َّ َ ْ َ ْ َ َ َ ِ ٱ ْل ُج ُح ود O He Who saved the sorcerers after their long denial! ya man istanqadha alssaharata min ba`di tuli aljuhudi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوقَ ْد َغ َد ْوٱ ِفي ِن ْع َم ِت ِو and after they had lived in His bounty, wa qad ghadaw fi ni`matihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وف َغ ْي َرُه د ب ع ي و و ق ز ر وف م ك ا ي َ ُ ْ ُ َ ُُْ َ َ ُ َ َ eating from His sustenance, but serving someone else other than Him, ya'kuluna rizqahu wa ya`buduna ghayrahu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ُّ ُّ وه اد ن و وه اد ح د ق و َ َ ُ َُ َ ْ َ acting in opposition to Him, antagonizing Him, wa qad hadduhu wa nadduhu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ و َك سمَ ُو ر ٱ و ب ذ ُُ ُ َ and denying His messengers. wa kadhdhabu rusulahu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ يا المَّ ُو يا المَّ ُو يا ب يء د َ َ ُ َ َ O Allah! O Allah! O Originator! ya allahu ya allahu ya badi'u Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َيا َب ِديعاً الَ ِن َّد لَ َؾ O Fashioner! There is no equal to You. ya badi`an la nidda laka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اد لَ َؾ ف ن ال ا م ائ د ا ي َ َ ً َ َ َ َ O Everlasting! There is no end to You. ya da'iman la nafada laka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ يف الَ َح ُّي ح ا ي ح ا ي ً َ َّ َ O Ever-living when there was no living thing! ya hayyan hina la hayyu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َيا ُم ْح ِي َي ٱ ْل َم ْوتَى O Raiser from the dead! ya muhyiya almawta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ َيا َم ْف ُى َو قَ ِائ ٌـ َعمَى ُك ّْؿ َن ْف س ِب َما س َب ْت ك َ َ O He Who watches every soul as to what it earns! ya man huwa qa'imun `ala kulli nafsin bima kasabat Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َي ْح ِرْم ِني َّ ش ْك ِري َفمَ ْـ و ل ؿ َ ُ ُ َيا َم ْف َق O He to Whom I rarely turned thankful; yet, He did not deprive me, ya man qalla lahu shukri falam yahrimni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ض ْح ِني ف ي ْ َ َ ِ يئ ِتي َفمَ ْـ ط َ َو َعظُ َم ْت َخ against Whom I committed grand sins; yet, He did not disclose me, wa `azumat khati'ati falam yafdahni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ش َي ْرِني ْ َي ِ آني عمَى ٱ ْلمع ِ ور اصي َفمَ ْـ َ ََ ََ and Who saw me insisting on disobeying Him; yet, He did not divulge me. wa ra'ani `ala alma`asi falam yashharni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ظ ِني ِفي ِ ص َغ ِري ف َ َيا َم ْف َح O He Who safeguarded me in my early life! ya man hafizani fi sighari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َيا َم ْف َرَزقَ ِني ِفي ِك َب ِري O He Who provided me with sustenance in my old age! ya man razaqani fi kibari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ صى ح ت ال ي د ن ع يو اد اي ف م ا ي َ ْ ُ َ َْ َ َ ْ O He Whose favors to me are innumerable ya man ayadihi `indi la tuhsa Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوِن َع ُم ُو الَ تُ َج َازى and Whose bounties cannot be compensated! wa ni`amuhu la tujaza Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِس ِ اف ح ٱإل و ر ي خ ل ٱ ب ي ن ض ار ع ف م ا ي ْ َ َ ََ َْ َ َ ْ َ ْ O He Who receives me with good turn and kindness ya man `aradani bilkhayri wal-ihsani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱإلساء ِة وٱ ْل ِ ِ ِ ص َي اف ع ب و ت ض ار ع و ُ ُ ْ َََ ْ َ َ َ but I meet Him with offense and disobedience! wa `aradtuhu bil-isa'ati wal`isyani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ يا م ْف َى َد ِاني ِ ِ يػم اف إل ل َ َ َ O He Who had guided me to faith ya man hadani lil'imani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ش ْكر ِ ِ ِ ٱالﹾ ْم ِت َن ِ اف ؼ ر اع اف ؿ ب ق ف م َ َ ُ َ ْ ْ ْ ْ before I learnt showing gratitude! min qabli an a`rifa shukra al'imtinani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah شفَ ِاني َ ََيا َم ْف َد َع ْوتُ ُو َم ِريضاً ف O He Whom I besought in sickness; so, He restored me to health, ya man da`awtuhu maridan fashafani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah س ِاني ك ف ا ان ي ر ع و َ ً َ َ ُْ َ َ in bareness; so, He covered me, wa `uryanan fakasani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ش َب َع ِني ا ف ا ع ائ َ ْ ً َو َج in hunger; so, He satiated me, wa ja'i`an fa'ashba`ani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah شاناً فَ ْارَو ِاني َ َو َع ْط in thirst; so, He quenched my thirst, wa `atshanan fa'arwani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اعَّزِني ف ال ي ل ذ و َ َ ً َ َ in humility; so, He granted me dignity, wa dhalilan fa'a`azzani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وج اىالً فَ َعَّرفَ ِني ََ in ignorance; so, He taught me, wa jahilan fa`arrafani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوَو ِحيداً فَ َكثََّرِني in loneliness; so, He increased my number, wa wahidan fakaththarani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو َغ ِائباً فََرَّد ِني in foreignness absence; so, He returned me home, wa gha'iban faraddani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو ُم ِقالِّ فَا ْغ َن ِاني in poverty; so, He enriched me, wa muqillan fa'aghnani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ص َرِني ن ف ر ا ص ت ن م و َ ً ْ َ َ َ َُ in victory-seeking; so, He supported me, wa muntasiran fanasarani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah سمُ ْب ِني ي َْ َو َغ ِن ّياً َفمَ ْـ and in richness; so, He did not deprive me. wa ghaniyyan falam yaslubni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah يع ذِل َؾ فَ ْٱبتَ َد ِاني ك س ام و ِ ت َع ْف َج ِم ْ ُ َ ْ َ When I withheld praying Him in all these situation, He took the initiative. wa amsaktu `an jami`i dhalika fabtada'ani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ُّ َفمَ َؾ ٱ ْل َح ْم ُد َو ٱلش ْك ُر So, all praise and thanks be to You; falaka alhamdu walshshukru Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah اؿ َعثَْرِتي َ ََيا َم ْف اق O He Who overlooked my slips, ya man aqala `athrati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّوَنف س ُك ْرَب ِتي َ َ relieved my agonies, wa naffasa kurbati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah اب َد ْع َوِتي اج و َ َ َ responded to my prayer, wa ajaba da`wati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ستََر َع ْوَرِتي و َ َ covered my flaws, wa satara `awrati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو َغفََر ُذ ُنوِبي forgave my sins, wa ghafara dhunubi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ طِم َب ِتي ي ن َ َوَبمَّ َغ settled my need, wa ballaghani talibati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ص َرِني َعمَى َع ُد ّْوي ن و َ َ َ and supported me against my enemy. wa nasarani `ala `aduwwi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah اع َّد ِن َع َم َؾ َو ِم َن َن َؾ ف ا و ِ ُ ْ َ If I count Your bounties, favors, wa in a`udda ni`amaka wa minanaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اح ِ ِ ِ ييا ص ال ؾ ح ن م ـ ائ ر ك و َ َ َ َ َ ْ َ َ َ and liberal gifts, I will never number them. wa kara'ima minahika la uhsiha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ي ا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي َم َن ْن َت ال و م ا ي َ َ َْ َ O my Master! It is You Who bestowed (upon me). ya mawlaya anta alladhi mananta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي ا ْن َع ْم َت It is You Who conferred favors (upon me). anta alladhi an`amta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ س ْن َت اح ي ذ ل ٱ ت ن ا ْ َ َ ْ It is You Who did good (to me). anta alladhi ahsanta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ اج َم ْم َت ي ذ ل ٱ ت ن ا ْ َ ْ It is You Who treated (me) excellently. anta alladhi ajmalta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ض ْم َت ف ا ي ذ ل ٱ ت ن ا ْ ْ َ َ It is You Who favored (me). anta alladhi afdalta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي ا ْك َم ْم َت It is You Who perfected (Your blessings upon me). anta alladhi akmalta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي َرَزْق َت It is You Who provided (me) with sustenance. anta alladhi razaqta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي َوفَّ ْق َت It is You Who led (me) to success. anta alladhi waffaqta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّا ْن َت ٱل ط ْي َت اع ي ذ َ ْ It is You Who gave (me). anta alladhi a`tayta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي ا ْغ َن ْي َت It is You Who enriched (me). anta alladhi aghnayta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي ا ْق َن ْي َت It is You Who gave (me) to hold. anta alladhi aqnayta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َِّا ْن َت ٱل آوْي َت ي ذ َ It is You Who gave (me) shelter. anta alladhi awayta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي َكفَ ْي َت It is You Who saved (me). anta alladhi kafayta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي َى َد ْي َت It is You Who guided (me). anta alladhi hadayta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َِّا ْن َت ٱل ص ْم َت ع ي ذ َ َ It is You Who protected (me). anta alladhi `asamta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َِّا ْن َت ٱل ستَْر َت ي ذ َ It is You Who covered my faults. anta alladhi satarta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي َغفَ ْر َت It is You Who forgave (me). anta alladhi ghafarta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي ا َق ْم َت It is You Who overlooked my sins. anta alladhi aqalta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي َم َّك ْن َت It is You Who established (me). anta alladhi makkanta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ اع َزْز َت ي ذ ل ٱ ت ن ا ْ َ ْ It is You Who consolidated (me). anta alladhi a`zazta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َِّا ْن َت ٱل اع ْن َت ي ذ َ It is You Who helped (me). anta alladhi a`anta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ض ْد َت ع ي ذ ل ٱ ت ن ا ْ َ َ َ It is You Who backed (me) up. anta alladhi `adadta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي َّاي ْد َت It is You Who aided (me). anta alladhi ayyadta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ص ْر َت ن ي ذ ل ٱ ت ن ا ْ َ َ َ It is You Who supported (me). anta alladhi nasarta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ شفَ ْي َت ي ذ ا ْن َت ٱل َ It is You Who restored (me) to health. anta alladhi shafayta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي َعافَ ْي َت It is You Who granted (me) wellbeing. anta alladhi `afayta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي ا ْك َرْم َت It is You Who honored (me). anta alladhi akramta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah تََب َارْك َت َوتَ َعالَ ْي َت Blessed be You and Exalted be You. tabarakta wa ta`alayta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َفمَ َؾ ٱ ْل َح ْم ُد َد ِائم ًا So, all praise be to You permanently, falaka alhamdu da'iman Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱلش ْكر و ُّ اصباً َابد ًا ؾ ل و َ َ َ ُ َ and all thanks be to You enduringly and eternally. wa laka alshshukru wasiban abadan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ؼ ِب ُذ ُنوِبي ر ت ع م ل ٱ ي ي ل ْ ُ َ ْ ُ َ ثُ َّـ ا َنا َيا إ However, it is I, O my God, who confess of my sins; thumma ana ya ilhi almu`tarifu bidhunubi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah فَٱ ْغ ِف ْرَىا ِلي so, (please) forgive them to me. faghfirha li Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ات اس ي ذ ل ٱ ا ن ا َ ُ َ It is I who did badly. ana alladhi asa'tu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ات ط اخ ي ذ ل ٱ ا ن ا َ ْ َ ُ It is I who did wrong. ana alladhi akhta'tu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ت م م ى ي ذ ل ٱ ا ن ا َ ُ ََْ It is I who had evil intention. ana alladhi hamamtu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ِ ت م ي ج ي ذ ل ٱ ا ن ا ْ َ ُ َ It is I who acted impolitely. ana alladhi jahiltu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ت م ف غ ي ذ ل ٱ ا ن ا َ َ ْ َ ُ It is I who was inadvertent. ana alladhi ghafaltu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ت و ي س ي ذ ل ٱ ا ن ا َ ُ َْ َ It is I who was inattentive. ana alladhi sahawtu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ت د م ت ٱع ي ذ ل ٱ ا ن ا َ َ ُ َْ ْ It is I who leaned (on something other than You). ana alladhi i`tamadtu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ت د م ع ت ي ذ ل ٱ ا ن ا َّ َ َ ُْ َ It is I who did wrong deliberately. ana alladhi ta`ammadtu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ت د ع و ي ذ ل ٱ ا ن ا َ ُ َْ َ It is I who promised. ana alladhi wa`adtu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ت ف م اخ ي ذ ل ٱ ا ن ا و ْ َ ْ َ ُ َ It is I who failed to fulfill it. wa ana alladhi akhlaftu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ت ث ك ن ي ذ ل ٱ ا ن ا ْ َ َ َ ُ It is I who breached. ana alladhi nakathtu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ت ر ر ق ا ي ذ ل ٱ ا ن ا ْ َ ُ َْ It is I who confessed. ana alladhi aqrartu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ت ِب ِن ْع َم ِت َؾ َعمَ َّي َو ِع ْن ِدي ف ر ت ٱع ي ذ ل ٱ ا ن ا ْ َ َ ُ َْ It is I who testified to Your favors upon and with me, ana alladhi i`taraftu bini`matika `alayya wa `indi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah وء ِب ُذ ُنوِبي فَٱ ْغ ِف ْرَىا ِلي اب و ُ َُ and I now acknowledge of my sins; so, (please) forgive them to me. wa abu'u bidhunubi faghfirha li Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah وب ِع َب ِاد ِه ن ذ ه ر ض ت ال ف م ا ي ُ َ ُّ ُ َ َْ َ ُ ُ ُ O He Who is not injured by the sins of His servants, ya man la tadurruhi dhunubu `ibadihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اع ِت ِي ْـ ط ف ع ي ن غ ل ٱ و ى و َ ْ َ ْ َ ُّ َ َُ َ and Who can surely do without their obedience, wa huwa alghaniyyu `an ta`atihim Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ّْ ص ِالحاً ِم ْن ُي ْـ ؿ م ع ف م ؽ ف و م ل ٱ و ْ َ َ ْ َ ُ َُ َ َ and Who inspires those of them to do good, walmuwaffiqu man `amila salihan minhum Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِب َم ُعوَن ِت ِو َوَر ْح َم ِت ِو out of His aid and mercy. bima`unatihi wa rahmatihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ س ّْي ِدي و ي ي ل إ د م ح ل ٱ ؾ م ف َ ْ َ َ ُ َ َ َْ So, all praise be to You, O my God and my Master. falaka alhamdu ilahi wa sayyidi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َِإِل ِيي امرت ص ْيتُ َؾ ع ف ي ن َ َ َ َْ O my God: You ordered me, but I disobeyed You. ilahi amartani fa`asaytuka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ت َن ْي َي َؾ ب ك ت ٱر ف ي ن ت ي ي ن و َ َ َ َ َ ُْ ْ َْ َ You warned me, but I violated Your warning. wa nahaytani fartakabtu nahyaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٍ اعتَِذ ُر ف ي ل ة اء ر ب ا ذ ال ت ح ب اص ف َ َ َ َ ُ ْ َْ ْ َ ََ So, I am now lacking neither justification to apologize fa'asbahtu la dha bara'atin li fa'a`tadhiru Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َفَا ْنت ص ُر َوالَ َذا قَُّوٍة nor power to support myself. wa la dha quwwatin fa'antasiru Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ الي و م ا ي ؾ م ب ق ت اس ء ي ش اي ب ف َ ّْ ْ ُ َ َ َ ْ ْ َ َْ َ By which thing can I now meet You, O my Master? Fabi'ayyi shay'in astaqbiluka ya mawlaya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ا ِبسم ِ ص ِري ب ب اـ ي ع َ َ ْ َْ Is it by my hearing, my sight, abisam`i am bibasari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِاـ ِب س ِاني ْاـ ِب َي ِدي ْاـ ِب ِر ْجِمي م َ ْ my tongue, my hand, or my foot? am bilisani am biyadi am birijli Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah س ُكمُّ َيا ِن َع َم َؾ ِع ْن ِدي ي ل ا َ َْ Are all these not Your bounties on me alaysa kulluha ni`amaka `indi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ّْ ِ ي ال و م ا ي ؾ ت ي ص ع ا ي م ك ب و َ ُ َ ُ َ َْ َ َْ َ َ َ and with all of them I have disobeyed You, O my Master? wa bikulliha `asaytuka ya mawlaya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٱلس ِبي ُؿ َعمَ َّي َّ َفمَ َؾ ٱ ْل ُح َّج ُة َو You have absolute argument and claim against me. falaka alhujjatu walssabilu `alayya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ ي م ا ف س ر ت ف م ي ن ٱآلب و اء ي ٱالم اف ات َّ َ ْ ْ َ َ َ َ ََ َ َ َي ْز ُج ُروِني O He Who covered me from fathers and mothers lest they might have driven me away, ya man satarani min al'aba'i wal'ummahati an yazjuruni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ اف ُي َع ّْي ُروِني اف و خ ٱإل و ر ائ ش ع ل ٱ ف م و ْ ْ َ ْ َ َ َ َ َ from relatives and friends lest they might have gibed me, wa min al`asha'iri wal'ikhwani an yu`ayyiruni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اف يع ِ ِ ِ اق ُبوِني يف ط ال ٱلس ف م و َّ َ َ َ َُ ْ and from rulers lest they might have punished me. wa min alssalatini an yu`aqibuni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ي ال و م ا ي ٱ و ع م ٱط و ل و َ َ َ َ َْ َ ُ َ Had they, O my Master, seen wa law ittala`u ya mawlaya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َعمَى َما ٱطَّمَ ْع َت َعمَ ْي ِو ِم ّْني that which You knew about me, `ala ma ittala`ta `alayhi minni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ظ ُروِني َ إِذاً َما ا ْن they would certainly have granted me no respite idhan ma anzaruni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ط ُعوِني ف ر ل و َ َ َضوِني َوق َ ُ ََ and they would have rejected and parted company with me. wa larafaduni wa qata`uni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah فَ َيا ا َنا َذا َيا إِل ِيي Here I am now, O my God, faha anadha ya ilahi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah س ّْي ِدي ا ي ؾ ي د ي ف ي ب َ َ َ ْ ََ َ َْ between Your hands, O my Master, bayna yadayka ya sayyidi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َخ اضعٌ َذِلي ٌؿ submissive, humble, khadi`un dhalilun Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ صير ح ِح ير ق ٌ َ ٌ َ helpless, and worthless. hasirun haqirun Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ اعتَِذ ُر ف ة اء ر ب و ذ ال َ ُ َ ْ َ ََ I am now lacking neither justification to apologize la dhu bara'atin fa'a`tadhiru Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َفَا ْنت ص ُر َوالَ ُذو قَُّوٍة nor power to support myself, wa la dhu quwwatin fa'antasiru Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ احتَ ُّج ِب َيا ف ة ج ح ال و َّ َ َ ْ ُ َ nor excuse to advance as a plea, wa la hujjatin fa'ahtajju biha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ سوء ًا ؿ م اع ـ ل و ح ر ت اج ـ ل ؿ ائ ق ال و َ َ َ َ ْ ٌ َ ُ َْ ْ َ ْ ْ ْ َ nor can I claim not committing and not acting badly. wa la qa'ilun lam ajtarih wa lam a`mal su'an Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah و م ع ا ت َيا ُ سى ٱ ْل ُج ُح ُ ود َولَ ْو َج َح ْد َ َ ََ ي َي ْنفَ ُع ِني ال و م َ َ َْ How can denial, if I deny, O my Master, serve me? wa ma `asa aljuhudu wa law jahadtu ya mawlaya yanfa`uni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ؼ َو َّانى ذِل َؾ َ َك ْي How and in what manner can I do so, kayfa wa anna dhalika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ش ُّ ِ َو َج َو ي م ك ي ح ار ا اى َدةٌ َعمَ َّي ِب َما قَ ْد ُ َ َ ِ ت م م ُ ْ َع while all my organs are witnesses for what I did? wa jawarihi kulliha shahidatun `alayya bima qad `amiltu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ش ٍّؾ ي ذ ر ي غ ا ين ق ي ت م م ع و َ ً َ َ ُْ ََ َْ I know for sure and without doubt wa `alimtu yaqinan ghayra dhi shakkin Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِظ ِائ َّ ِ ٱالم ور ـ ع ف م ي م ائ س ؾ ان َ َ ْ َ َ ُ that You will interrogate me about these grand matter, annaka sa'ili min `aza'imi al'umuri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ َّ ور ج ت ال ي ذ ل ا ؿ د ع ل ٱ ـ ك ح ل ٱ ؾ ان و َ ْ ْ َ ُ َ َ َْ ُ َ َ ُ ُ You are the Just Judge Who never wrongs, wa annaka alhakamu al`adlu alladhi la tajuru Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو َع ْدلُ َؾ ُم ْيِم ِكي Your justice will ruin me, wa `adluka muhliki Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو ِم ْف ُك ّْؿ َع ْدِل َؾ َم ْي َرِبي and from Your all justice I flee. wa min kulli `adlika mahrabi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah فَِإ ْف تُ َع ّْذ ْب ِني َيا إِل ِيي If You, O my God, chastise me, fa'in tu`adhdhibni ya ilahi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah فَ ِب ُذ ُنوِبي َب ْع َد ُح َّج ِت َؾ َعمَ َّي then it is because of my sins after Your claim against me; fabidhunubi ba`da hujjatika `alayya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ؼ َع ّْني ُ َوِا ْف تَ ْع and if You pardon me, wa in ta`fu `anni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ فَ ِب ِح ْم ِم َؾ َو ُج ود َؾ َو َك َرِم َؾ then it is on account of Your forbearance, magnanimity, and generosity. fabihilmika wa judika wa karamika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ِ س ْب َحا َن َؾ ت ن ا ال إ و ل إ ال َ ْ َ ُ َ There is no god save You. All glory be to You. la ilaha illa anta subhanaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ َّ ِ ّْ يف م ال ٱلظ ف م ت ن ك ي ن إ ْ ُ َ َ ُ I have been of the wrongdoers. inni kuntu min alzzalimina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ِ س ْب َحا َن َؾ ت ن ا ال إ و ل إ ال َ ْ َ ُ َ There is no god save You. All glory be to You. la ilaha illa anta subhanaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ّْ ِ يف ر ف غ ت س م ل ٱ ف م ت ن ك ي ن إ ْ ْ ْ ُ َ َ ْ ُ َ ُ I have been of those seeking forgiveness. inni kuntu min almustaghfirina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ِ س ْب َحا َن َؾ ت ن ا ال إ و ل إ ال َ ْ َ ُ َ There is no god save You. All glory be to You. la ilaha illa anta subhanaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ّْ يف د ح و م ل ٱ ف م ت ن ك ي ن إ ّْ ْ ْ ُ َ َُ َ ُ I have been of those professing Your Oneness. inni kuntu min almuwahhidina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ِ س ْب َحا َن َؾ ت ن ا ال إ و ل إ ال َ ْ َ ُ َ There is no god save You. All glory be to You. la ilaha illa anta subhanaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ ّْ يف ف ائ خ ل ٱ ف م ت ن ك ي ن إ ْ ْ َ ُ َ َ ُ I have been of the fearful. inni kuntu min alkha'ifina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ِ س ْب َحا َن َؾ ت ن ا ال إ و ل إ ال َ ْ َ ُ َ There is no god save You. All glory be to You. la ilaha illa anta subhanaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ ّْ يف م ج و ل ٱ ف م ت ن ك ي ن إ ْ ْ ُ َ َ َ ُ I have been of the apprehensive. inni kuntu min alwajilina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ِ س ْب َحا َن َؾ ت ن ا ال إ و ل إ ال َ ْ َ ُ َ There is no god save You. All glory be to You. la ilaha illa anta subhanaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ّْ يف اج ٱلر ف م ت ن ك ي ن إ َّ ْ ُ َ َ ُ I have been of those hoping (for You). inni kuntu min alrrajina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ِ س ْب َحا َن َؾ ت ن ا ال إ و ل إ ال َ ْ َ ُ َ There is no god save You. All glory be to You. la ilaha illa anta subhanaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ّْ ِ يف ب اغ ٱلر ف م ت ن ك ي ن إ َّ ْ ُ َ َ ُ I have been of those desiring (for You). inni kuntu min alrraghibina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ِ س ْب َحا َن َؾ ت ن ا ال إ و ل إ ال َ ْ َ ُ َ There is no god save You. All glory be to You. la ilaha illa anta subhanaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ّْ ِ ّْ يف م م ي م ل ٱ ف م ت ن ك ي ن إ ْ ْ ُ َ َُ َ ُ I have been of those professing that there is no god save You. inni kuntu min almuhallilina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ِ س ْب َحا َن َؾ ت ن ا ال إ و ل إ ال َ ْ َ ُ َ There is no god save You. All glory be to You. la ilaha illa anta subhanaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ ّْ يف م ائ ٱلس ف م ت ن ك ي ن إ َّ ْ ُ َ َ ُ I have been of those beseeching (You). inni kuntu min alssa'ilina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ِ س ْب َحا َن َؾ ت ن ا ال إ و ل إ ال َ ْ َ ُ َ There is no god save You. All glory be to You. la ilaha illa anta subhanaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ّْ يف ح ب س م ل ٱ ف م ت ن ك ي ن إ ّْ ْ ْ ُ َ َ ُ َ ُ I have been of those glorifying (You). inni kuntu min almusabbihina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ِ س ْب َحا َن َؾ ت ن ا ال إ و ل إ ال َ ْ َ ُ َ There is no god save You. All glory be to You. la ilaha illa anta subhanaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ّْ ِ يف ر ب ك م ل ٱ ف م ت ن ك ي ن إ ّْ ْ ْ َ ُ َ ُ َ ُ I have been of those professing that You are the Greatest. inni kuntu min almukabbirina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ِ س ْب َحا َن َؾ ت ن ا ال إ و ل إ ال َ ْ َ ُ َ There is no god save You. All glory be to You. la ilaha illa anta subhanaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ يف ل ٱالو ي ائ آب ب ر و ي ب ر ُّ ّْ َّ َ َ َ ََ َ You are my Lord and the Lord of my bygone fathers. rabbi wa rabbu aba'iya al-awwalina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah المَّ ُي َّـ ى َذا ثََن ِائي َعمَ ْي َؾ ُم َم ّْجد ًا O Allah, this is my praise for You, celebrating Your glory, allahumma hadha thana'i `alayka mumajjidan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وِا ْخ الصي ِل ِذ ْك ِر َؾ ُم َو ّْحد ًا َ my sincerity to mention You and profess Your Oneness, wa ikhlasi lidhikrika muwahhidan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوِا ْق َر ِاري ِبآالَ ِئ َؾ ُم َعدّْد ًا and my acknowledgment of Your bounties, counting them, wa iqrari bi'ala'ika mu`addidan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اح ِ ّْ ص َيا ـ ل ي ان ر ا ق م ت ن ك ف ا و ِ ً َ ْ ُ ْ ْ ّ ُ ُ ْ َ although I confess that I could never count them wa in kuntu muqirran anni lam uhsiha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ س ُب ِ وغ َيا و ا ي ت ر ث ك ل ْ ُ َ َ ََ for they are innumerable, abundant, likathratiha wa subughiha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اد ِم َيا إِلَى َح ِاد ٍث َما ق ت و ا ى ر اى ظ ت و َ َ َ َ ُ َ َ ُ َ continuous, and prior to a certain event. wa tazahuriha wa taqadumiha ila hadithin ma Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah لَ ْـ تََز ْؿ تَتَ َع َّي ُد ِني ِب ِو َم َع َيا You have been conferring upon me with these bounties lam tazal tata`ahhaduni bihi ma`aha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َخمَ ْقتَِني َوَب َراتَِني ُم ْن ُذ since You created and originated me mundhu khalaqtani wa bara'tani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِم ْف َّاو ِؿ ٱ ْل ُع ْم ِر from the beginning of my age min awwali al`umri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱإل ْغ َن ِ ِم َف اء ِم َف ٱ ْلفَ ْق ِر through meeting my poverty min al'ighna'i min alfaqri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِش ٱلضّْر ُّ ؼ ْ َو َك relieving me from harm, wa kashfi alddurri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ س ِر ي ل ٱ يب ب س ت و ْ َ ُْ ْ َ giving me means of easiness, wa tasbibi alyusri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah س ِر ع ل ٱ ع ف د و ْ ِ ْ ََ ُْ repelling misery from me, wa daf`i al`usri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah يج ٱ ْل َك ْر ِب ِ َوتَ ْف ِر alleviating my agonies, wa tafriji alkarbi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وٱ ْلع اف َي ِة ِفي ٱ ْل َب َد ِف َ َ granting me wellbeing in my body, wal`afiyati fi albadani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱلسالَ َم ِة ِفي ٱلد ّْيف َّ َو and furnishing me with sound faith. walssalamati fi alddini Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ولَو رفَ َد ِني عمَى قَ ْد ِر ِذ ْك ِر ِنعم ِت َؾ ج يع م َ ُ َ َْ َ ْ َ ِ يف م َ َٱ ْل َعال If all creatures assist me to be able to mention Your bounties, wa law rafadani `ala qadri dhikri ni`matika jami`u al`alamina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ يف ر ٱآلخ و يف ل ٱالو ف م َ َ َ َّ َ including the past and the coming generations, min al-awwalina wal-akhirina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ت َوالَ ُى ْـ َعمَى ذِل َؾ ر د ق ا م َ ُ َْ َ neither I nor will they be able to do that. ma qadartu wa la hum `ala dhalika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ س َت َوتَ َعالَ ْي َت د ق ت َ َ ْ Holy be You and Exalted be You; taqaddasta wa ta`alayta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِم ْف َر ٍّب َك ِر ٍيـ َع ِظ ٍيـ َر ِح ٍيـ You are All-generous, All-great, and Allmerciful Sustainer. min rabbin karimin `azimin rahimin Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah صى آالَ ُؤ َؾ ح ت ال َ ُ َ ْ Your bounties are innumerable, la tuhsa ala'uka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah اؤ َؾ ُ َوالَ ُي ْبمَغُ ثََن (proper) praise of You is unreachable, wa la yublaghu thana'uka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah اؤ َؾ ُ َوالَ تُ َكافَى َن ْع َم and Your graces cannot be rewarded. wa la tukafa'u na`ma'uka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ص ّْؿ َعمَى م َح َّم ٍد َو آؿ ُم َح َّم ٍد َ ُ (Please) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َواتْ ِم ْـ َعمَ ْي َنا ِن َع َم َؾ perfect Your bounties for us, wa atmim `alayna ni`amaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ اع ِت َؾ ط ب ا ن د ع اس و َ َ ْ ْ َ َ and make us happy by obeying You. wa as`idna bita`atika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah س ْب َحا َن َؾ الَ إِل َو إِالَّ ا ْن َت ُ All glory be to You. There is no god save You. subhanaka la ilaha illa anta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ِ َّ طَّر م ل ٱ يب ج ت ؾ ن إ ـ ي م ال َض ْ َّ َ ُ ْ ُ ُ ُ O Allah, verily, You answer the distressed, allahumma innaka tujibu almudtarra Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وء ٱلس ؼ ش ك ت و ُّ ْ ُ َ َ َ remove the evil, wa takshifu alssu'a Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وب ر ك م ل ٱ يث غ ت و ْ ُ ْ ُ َ ُ َ َ aid the anguished, wa tughithu almakruba Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱلس ِ يـ ق ي ف ش ت و َّ ْ َ َ َ cure the ailed, wa tashfi alssaqima Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َوتُ ْغ ِني ٱ ْلف ير ق َ َ enrich the poor, wa tughni alfaqira Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وتَ ْجبر ٱ ْل َك ير س َ ُُ َ set the broken, wa tajburu alkasira Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱلص ير غ ـ ح ر ت و َّ َ َ َُ ْ َ have mercy on the young, wa tarhamu alssaghira Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ير ب ك ل ٱ يف ع ت و ْ َ ُ ُ َ َ help the old, wa tu`inu alkabira Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ير ي ظ ؾ ن و د س ي ل و َ َ َ َ ُ َْ َ ٌ none can help against You, wa laysa dunaka zahirun Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َوالَ فَوقَ َؾ ق ير د ْ َ ٌ none is more powerful than You, wa la fawqaka qadirun Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ير ب ك ل ٱ ي م ع ل ٱ ت ن ا و ْ ْ ْ َ ُّ َ َ َ ُ and You are the Most High, the All-great. wa anta al`aliyyu alkabiru Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ؽ ٱ ْلم َكَّب ِؿ ِ ِ ٱالس ير م ط م ا ي ْ ُ َ ُ َ O He Who release the shackled captive! ya mutliqa almukabbali al'asiri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ّْ ؽ ِ ٱلص ِغ ِ ير از ر ا ي َّ ٱلط ْف ِؿ َ َ َ O He Who provides sustenance to the young child! ya raziqa alttifli alssaghiri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ ستَ ِج ير م ل ٱ ؼ ائ خ ل ٱ ة م ص ع ا ي َ ْ ْ َ َ ْ ُ َْ O He Who is the Preserver of the afraid seeker of refuge! ya `ismata alkha'ifi almustajiri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ير ز و ال و و ل يؾ ر ش ال ف م ا ي َ َ َ َ َ َْ َ َ َ َُ O He Who has neither partner nor assistant, ya man la sharika lahu wa la wazira Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ص ّْؿ َعمَى م َح َّم ٍد َو آؿ ُم َح َّم ٍد َ ُ (please) send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah اع ِط ِني ِفي ى ِذ ِه ٱ ْل َع ِش َّي ِة و ْ َ and grant me, in this evening, wa a`tini fi hadhihi al`ashiyyati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ط ْي َت َواَن ْم َت ا م ؿ ض ف ا ْ َ اع َ ْ َ َ the best of what You have granted and awarded afdala ma a`tayta wa analta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah احداً ِم ْف ِع َب ِاد َؾ َ to any of Your servants, ahadan min `ibadika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ ِ ِ ِ ييا ل و ت ة م ع ن ف م َ ُ َْ ْ including a grace that You donate, min ni`matin tuliha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ ّْد َىا د ج ت ء ال آ و َ ُ ُ َ َ bounties that You re-offer, wa ala'in tujaddiduha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ ِ ص ِرفُ َيا ت ة ي م ب و َّ َ ََ ْ a tribulation that You deter, wa baliyyatin tasrifuha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو ُك ْرَب ٍة تَ ْك ِشفُ َيا an anguish that You remove, wa kurbatin takshifuha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ س َم ُع َيا ت ة و ع د و َ ْ َْ َ َ a prayer that You answer, wa da`watin tasma`uha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah س َن ٍة تَتَقََّبمُ َيا ح و َ ََ a good deed that You admit, wa hasanatin tataqabbaluha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah س ّْي َئ ٍة تَتَ َغ َّم ُد َىا و َ َ and an evildoing that You screen. wa sayyi'atin tataghammaduha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ َّ ِ ِ ير ب خ اء ش ت ا م ب يؼ ط ل ؾ ن إ َ َ َ َ ٌ َ ٌ ُ َ Verily, You are All-tender to him You will, and All-aware, innaka latifun bima tasha'u khabirun Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َشيء ق ّْ ير د ؿ ك ى م ع و َ ُ َ ََ ٌ ْ and You have power over all things. wa `ala kulli shay'in qadirun Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ َّ ب َم ْف ُد ِع َي ر ق ا ؾ ن إ ـ ي م ال ْ َّ َ َُ ُ O Allah, Verily, You are the nearest of those whom are prayed, allahumma innaka aqrabu man du`iya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah اب اج ف م ع ر اس و َ َ ْ َ ُ َْ َ You are the promptest of those who may respond, wa asra`u man ajaba Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوا ْك َرُـ َم ْف َعفَا the most generous of those who may pardon, wa akramu man `afa Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah طى ف م ع س او و َ اع ْ َْ َُ َْ the most liberal of those who give, wa awsa`u man a`ta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah س ِئ َؿ ف م ع م اس و ُ َْ ُ َْ َ and the most responding of those whom are asked. wa asma`u man su'ila Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ور يم ُي َما ح َ ََ ِ ٱلد ْنيا و ُّ ٱآلخ َرِة ف م ح ر ا ي َ َْ َ َ َ O All-beneficent of the world and the Hereafter, and All-merciful! ya rahmana alddunya wal-akhirati wa rahimahuma Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ س ُؤو ٌؿ م ؾ م ث م ك س ي ل ْ َ َ َ ْ َ َْ No besought one is like You laysa kamithlika mas'ulun Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ امو ٌؿ م اؾ و س ال و َ َ ُ َ َ َ and none save You is hoped. wa la siwaka ma'mulun Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah اج ْبتَِني ف ؾ ت و ع د َ َ ُ َ َْ َ I prayed You and You answered me. da`awtuka fa'ajabtani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ط ْيتَِني ف ؾ ت ل ا س و َ َ اع ْ َ ُ ْ َ َ I besought You and You gave me. wa sa'altuka fa'a`taytani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ت إِلَ ْي َؾ فََر ِح ْمتَِني ب غ ر و ُ ْ ََ I desired for You and You had mercy on me. wa raghibtu ilayka farahimtani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ت ِب َؾ فَ َن َّج ْيتَِني ق ث و و ْ ُ ََ I had confidence in You and You saved me. wa wathiqtu bika fanajjaytani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ت إِلَ ْي َؾ فَ َكفَ ْيتَِني ع ز ف و َ ُْ َ I resorted to You in awe and You delivered me. wa fazi`tu ilayka fakafaytani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ص ّْؿ َعمَى ُم َح َّم ٍد ف ـ ي م ال َ َّ َ ُ O Allah, (please) send blessings to Muhammad, allahumma fasalli `ala muhammadin Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ سوِل َؾ َوَن ِب ّْي َؾ ر و ؾ د ب ع َ ُ َ َ َْ Your servant, messenger, and prophet, `abdika wa rasulika wa nabiyyika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ َّ َّ ِ ِ يف ع م اج يف ر اى ٱلط يف ب ي ٱلط و آل ى م ع و ّْ َ َ َْ َ َ ََ and to all of his Household, the pure and immaculate, wa `ala alihi alttayyibina alttahirina ajma`ina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah اء َؾ م ع ن ا ن ل ـ م ت و َ ّْ َ َ َ َ َْ ْ َ and perfect for us Your graces, wa tammim lana na`ma'aka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ّْ اء َؾ ط ع ا ن ئ ن ى و َ َ ْ ََ َ َ make us taste the pleasure of Your gifts, wa hanni'na `ata'aka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ يف ر اك ش ؾ ل ا ن ب ت ك ٱ و َ ْ َ َ َ ُ َ ْ َ and register us as thankful for You waktubna laka shakirina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ يف ر اك ذ ؾ ئ ال آل و َ َ َ َ َ and as oft-referring to You. wa li'ala'ika dhakirina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ يف م ل ا ع ل ٱ ب ر يف آم يف آم َّ َ َ َْ َ َ َ Respond, respond! O Lord of the worlds! amina amina rabba al`alamina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah المَّ ُي َّـ َيا َم ْف َممَ َؾ فَقَ َد َر O Allah, Who owns; therefore, He controls, allahumma ya man malaka faqadara Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوقَ َد َر فَقَ َي َر and controls; therefore, He has absolute authority, wa qadara faqahara Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وع ستََر ف ي ص َ َ َ َُ and is disobeyed; yet, He covers, wa `usiya fasatara Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٱستُ ْغ ِف َر فَ َغفََر و ْ َ and is prayed for forgiveness; therefore, He forgives. wastughfira faghafara Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ َّ ِ ِ يف ب اغ ٱلر يف ب ال ٱلط ة اي غ ا ي َ َ َّ َ َ َ َ O He Who is the aim of seekers and desirers ya ghayata alttalibina alrraghibina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ يف اج ٱلر ؿ ام ى ي ت ن م و َّ ْ َ َ َ َ َُ and the ultimate purpose of the hope of hopers! wa muntaha amali alrrajina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ّْ ش ْيء ِع ْمم ًا ؿ ك ب ف م ا ي َ احا َ ُ ط َ َْ َ O He Who encompasses all things in knowledge ya man ahata bikulli shay'in `ilman Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ يف َارفَ ًة َوَر ْح َم ًة َو ِح ْمم ًا يم ق ت س م ل ٱ ع س و و ْ َ َ ْ ُ َ ََ and covers those who quit (their sins) with tender, mercy, and forbearance! wa wasi`a almustaqilina ra'fatan wa rahmatan wa hilman Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah المَّ ُي َّـ إِ َّنا َنتََو َّج ُو إِلَ ْي َؾ ِفي ى ِذ ِه ٱ ْل َع ِش َّي ِة O Allah, we turn our faces to You in this evening allahumma inna natawajjahu ilayka fi hadhihi al`ashiyyati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ شَّرْفتَ َيا َو َعظَّ ْمتَ َيا ي ت ٱل َ that You deem honorable and reverential allati sharraftaha wa `azzamtaha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ ِ ِ سوِل َؾ ر و ؾ ي ب ن د م ح م ب ّْ َّ ُ ََ َ َ َُ (asking You) in the name of Muhammad, Your Prophet, Messenger, bimuhammadin nabiyyika wa rasulika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو ِخ َي َرِت َؾ ِم ْف َخ ْم ِق َؾ the best of Your creation, wa khiyaratika min khalqika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ام ِو ين َؾ َعمَى َو ْح ِي َؾ َ Your trustee on Your Revelation, wa aminika `ala wahyika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ير ِ ٱلن ِذ ِ ٱ ْل َب ِش ير the bearer of glad tidings, the warner, albashiri alnnadhiri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اج ٱ ْل ُم ِن ير ِ ٱلس َر ّْ and the shining lantern, alssiraji almuniri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ َّ ِ يف م م س م ل ٱ ى م ع و ب ت م ع ن ا ي ذ ل ٱ ْ َ ْ َ َْ َ ُْ َ with whom You have conferred upon the Muslims, alladhi an`amta bihi `ala almuslimina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ يف م ل ا ع م ل ة م ح ر و ت م ع ج و ً ْ ْ َ َ َ َ َ ْ َ ُ ََ َ and whom You made mercy for the worlds. wa ja`altahu rahmatan lil`alamina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ص ّْؿ َعمَى م َح َّم ٍد َو آؿ ُم َح َّم ٍد ف ـ ي م ال َ َّ َ ُ ُ So, O Allah, bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, allahumma fasalli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اى ٌؿ ِلذِل َؾ ِم ْن َؾ يا ع يـ ظ د م ح م ا م ك َّ ْ ٌ َ ُ ََ ُ َ َ forasmuch as Muhammad deserves that from You, O All-great. kama muhammadun ahlun lidhalika minka ya `azimu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ فَص ّْؿ عمَ ْي ِو وعمَى آل ِو ََ َ َ So, (please) send blessings to him and his Household, fasalli `alayhi wa `ala alihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ َّ َّ ِ ِ ِ يف ع م اج يف ر اى ٱلط يف ب ي ٱلط يف ب ج ت ن م ل ٱ ّْ ْ ْ َ َ َْ َ َ َ َ ُ the elite, pure, and immaculate—all of them, almuntajabina alttayyibina alttahirina ajma`ina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوتَ َغ َّم ْد َنا ِب َع ْف ِو َؾ َع َّنا and encompass us with Your pardoning us. wa taghammadna bi`afwika `anna Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وؼ ٱلمُّ َغ ِ ات ِبص ُن ِ ِ ات و ٱالص ت ج ع ؾ ي ل إ ف َّ َ َ َ َ ْ ُ ُ َْ To You are the voices of various languages clamoring; fa'ilayka `ajjat al'aswatu bisunufi allughati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٱج َع ْؿ لَ َنا ٱلمَّ ُي َّـ ِفي ى ِذ ِه ٱ ْل َع ِش َّي ِة ف َ ْ so, decide for us, O Allah, in this evening faj`al lana allahumma fi hadhihi al`ashiyyati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َن صيباً ِم ْف ُك ّْؿ َخ ْي ٍر تَ ْق ِس ُم ُو َب ْي َف ِع َب ِاد َؾ a share from every good item that You distribute among Your servants, nasiban min kulli khayrin taqsimuhu bayna `ibadika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ َوُن ور تَ ْي ِدي ِب ِو illumination by which You guide, wa nurin tahdi bihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ ش ُرَىا ن ت ة ُ ْ َ َوَر ْح َم mercy that You spread, wa rahmatin tanshuruha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوَب َرَك ٍة تُْن ِزلُ َيا blessing that You bring down, wa barakatin tunziluha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وع اف َي ٍة تُ َجمّْمُ َيا ََ wellbeing that You extend, wa `afiyatin tujalliluha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٍ سطُ ُو ب ت ؽ ز ر و ْ َ ُ ْ َ and sustenance that You stretch, wa rizqin tabsutuhu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ يف م اح ٱلر ـ ح ار ا ي َّ َ ََ ْ َ O most Merciful of all those who show mercy! ya arhama alrrahimina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah المَّ ُي َّـ ا ْقِم ْب َنا ِفي ى َذا ٱ ْل َو ْق ِت O Allah, turn us in this hour allahumma aqlibna fi hadha alwaqti Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ يف ح م ف م يف ح ج ن م ْ ْ َ ُ َ ُ successful, flourishing, munjihina muflihina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ يف م ان غ يف ور ر ب م َ َ َ ُْ َ blessed, and gainers. mabrurina ghanimina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ يف ط ان ق ل ٱ ف م ا ن م ع ج ت ال و ْ ْ َ َ َ َ َ َ َْ َ Do not include us with the despondent. wa la taj`alna min alqanitina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوالَ تُ ْخِم َنا ِم ْف َر ْح َم ِت َؾ Do not leave us without Your mercy. wa la tukhlina min rahmatika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ضِم َؾ ف ف م و م م ؤ ن ا م ا ن م ر ح ت ال و َ َ ُ ّْ ُ َ َ َ ْ ْ ُ َ ْ ْ َ Do not deprive us of that which we hope from Your favor. wa la tahrimna ma nu'ammiluhu min fadlika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ يف م و ر ح م ؾ ت م ح ر ف م ا ن م ع ج ت ال و ْ َ َ َ َ َ ُْ َ َ ْ َ ْ َْ َ Do not make us deprived of Your mercy, wa la taj`alna min rahmatika mahrumina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ يف ط ان ق ؾ ائ ط ع ف م و م م ؤ ن ا م ؿ ض ف ل ال و َ َ َ َ ُ ّْ ُ َ َ َ َ ْ ُ َ َ ْ or despair of the favor of what we hope from Your gifts. wa la lifadli ma nu'ammiluhu min `ata'ika qanitina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ َّ يف ب ائ خ ا ن د ر ت ال و َ َ َ َ َ ُ َ Do not turns us down disappointed wa la taruddana kha'ibina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ يف ود ر ط م ؾ ب ا ب ف م ال و ْ َ َ َ ُ َ َ ْ َ or driven away from Your door. wa la min babika matrudina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ يف د و ٱالج د و اج ا ي َ َْ ََْ َ O most Magnanimous of all those who treat magnanimously ya ajwada al-ajwadina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ يف م ر ك ٱال ـ ر ك ا و ْ ْ َ َ ََ َ and most Generous of all those who act generously! wa akrama al-akramina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ يف ن ق و م ا ن م ب ق ا ؾ ي ل إ ْ ْ َ َ َ َ ُ َ ْ To You are we advancing with full conviction ilayka aqbalna muqinina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ يف د اص ق يف آم اـ ر ح ل ٱ ؾ ت ي ب ل و َ ْ ّْ َ َ َ َْ َ ََ and to Your Holy House are we betaking ourselves purposefully; wa libaytika alharami ammina qasidina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اع َّنا عمَى م َن ِ َف اس ِك َنا َ َ So, (please) help us do our rituals (perfectly) fa'a`inna `ala manasikina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوا ْك ِم ْؿ لَ َنا َح َّج َنا perfect for us our pilgrimage wa akmil lana hajjana Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ؼ ع َّنا وع اف َنا ٱع و ُ ََ َ ْ َ pardon us, and grant us wellbeing. wa`fu `anna wa `afina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َم َد ْد َنا إِلَ ْي َؾ ْاي ِد َي َنا فَقَ ْد We are stretching our hands toward You; faqad madadna ilayka aydiyana Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ فَ ِيي ِب ِذلَّ ِة ِ ٱال ْع ِتر وم ٌة س و م اؼ ﹾ َ ُ َْ َ َ so, they are marked by the humiliation of confession. fahiya bidhillati ali`tirafi mawsumatun Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ي م ال ف ـ اع ِط َنا ِفي ى ِذ ِه ٱ ْل َع ِش َّي ِة َما َ َّ ْ ُ اؾ َ سا ْل َن َ O Allah, grant us in this evening that which we have besought from You allahumma fa'a`tina fi hadhihi al`ashiyyati ma sa'alnaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اؾ ن ي ف ك ت ٱس ا م ا ن ف َ َ ْ َ ْ َ ْ َ َ َوٱ ْك and save us from that which we have besought You to save us; wakfina ma istakfaynaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ اؾ و س ا ن ل ي اف َ َ َ َ َ فَالَ َك for we have no savior but You fala kafiya lana siwaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ب لَ َنا َغ ْي ُر َؾ َّ َوالَ َر and we have no sustainer but You. wa la rabba lana ghayruka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َن اف ٌذ ِفي َنا ُح ْك ُم َؾ Your decree is prevalent on us, nafidhun fina hukmuka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ُم ِحيطٌ ِب َنا ِع ْم ُم َؾ Your knowledge is encompassing us, muhitun bina `ilmuka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اؤ َؾ ض ق ا ن ي ف َ ُ َ َ َع ْد ٌؿ and Your decisions about us is just. `adlun fina qada'uka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ إِ ْق ض لَ َنا ٱ ْل َخ ْي َر (Please) decree for us that which is good iqdi lana alkhayra Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اى ِؿ ٱ ْل َخ ْي ِر ف م و ْ ْ ٱج َع ْم َنا ْ َ and make us of the people of goodness. waj`alna min ahli alkhayri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ِ ِ ِ ٱالج ِر يـ ظ ع ؾ ود ج ب ا ن ل ب ج او ـ ي م ال َ َّ َ َ ْ َ َ ْ ْ ُ ُ O Allah, decide for us, on account of Your magnanimity, a great reward, allahumma awjib lana bijudika `azima al'ajri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ُّ و َك ِريـ ٱلذ ْخ ِر َ َ a generous reserve, wa karima aldhdhikhri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah س ِر ي ل ٱ اـ و د و ْ ْ ُ َ ََ َ and a permanent easiness, wa dawama alyusri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ يف ع م اج ا ن وب ن ذ ا ن ل ر ف غ ٱ و ُ ْ َ َ ُ َ َ َْ َ ْ َ and forgive us all our sins, waghfir lana dhunubana ajma`ina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ يف ك ال ي ل ٱ ع م ا ن ك م ي ت ال و ْ َ ْ َ ُ َ َ ََ ْ َ do not annihilate us with those annihilated, wa la tuhlikna ma`a alhalikina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ؼ َع َّنا َارفَتَ َؾ َوَر ْح َمتَ َؾ ت ال و َ ْ ص ِر َ ْ َ and do not drive away from us Your tenderness and mercy; wa la tasrif `anna ra'fataka wa rahmataka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ يف م اح ٱلر ـ ح ار ا ي َّ َ ََ ْ َ O most Merciful of all those who show mercy! ya arhama alrrahimina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ َّ ف م م ٱج و ل ٱ ع ي م ال سالَ َؾ ت ق ا ذ ى ي ف ا ن م ـ ْ َ ْ ْ َّ َّ َ ْ َ َ َْ ُ ط ْيتَ ُو َ اع ْ َف O Allah, include us, at this hour, with them who besought You and You thus gave them, allahumma ij`alna fi hadha alwaqti mimman sa'alaka fa'a`taytahu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ش َك َر َؾ فَ ِزْدتَ ُو َ َو who thanked You and You thus increased them, wa shakaraka fazidtahu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah اب إِلَ ْي َؾ فَقَ ِب ْمتَ ُو ث و َ َ َ who returned to You and You thus accepted them, wa thaba ilayka faqabiltahu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ص َؿ إِلَ ْي َؾ ِم ْف ُذ ُنوِب ِو ُكمّْ َيا فَ َغفَ ْرتَ َيا لَ ُو َّ َوتََن and who renounced all their sins before You and You thus forgave them; wa tanassala ilayka min dhunubihi kulliha faghafartaha lahu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ يا َذا ٱ ْلجالَ ِؿ و ٱال ْك َرِاـ َ َ َ O Lord of Majesty and Honor! ya dhaljalali wal-ikrami Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ّْ ّْد َنا د س و ا ن ق ن و ـ ي م ال َّ َ َ ْ َ َ َ ُ O Allah, purify us and lead us to success allahumma wa naqqina wa saddidna Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ضُّر َع َنا ت ؿ ب ق ٱ و ْ ْ َ َ َ َ and admit our earnest entreaty; waqbal tadarru`ana Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah س ِئ َؿ ف م ر ي خ ا ي َ ُ ْ َ َْ َ O He Who is the best of all those who are besought ya khayra man su'ila Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱستُْر ِح َـ ف م ـ ح ار ا ي و ْ َ ََ ْ ََ and most Merciful of all those whose mercy is sought! wa ya arhama man isturhima Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ُاض ٱ ْل ُجف وف م غ إ و ي م ع ى ف خ ي ال ف م ا ي ْ َ َ َ ْ ُ َ َْ َ َْ َ O He from Whom the closing of eyelids cannot be hidden, ya man la yakhfa `alayhi ighmadu aljufuni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َوالَ لَ ْحظُ ٱ ْل ُع ُي وف nor are the glances of eyes, wa la lahzu al`uyuni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱستَقََّر ِفي ٱ ْل َم ْك ُن وف ا م ال و َ ْ َ َ nor is that which settles in the unseen, wa la ma istaqarra fi almaknuni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ُات ٱ ْل ُقم وب ر م ض م و ي م ع ت و ط ن ٱ ا م ال و َ َ َ ْ ُ ََ ْ ُ ْ َ ْ َ َ َ nor are things vanished under the secrets of hearts. wa la ma intawat `alayhi mudmaratu alqulubi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ُّ صاهُ ِع ْم ُم َؾ اح د ق ؾ ل ذ ؿ ك ال ا َ َ ُ َ َ ْ ْ Verily, all that has been encompassed by Your knowledge ala kullu dhalika qad ahsahu `ilmuka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوَو ِس َع ُو ِح ْم ُم َؾ and covered by Your forbearance. wa wasi`ahu hilmuka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ وف م ال ٱلظ ؿ و ق ي ا م ع ت ي ل ا ع ت و ؾ ن ا ح ب س ُ َّ َ َ ُ َ َ َ ُ َ َ َْ َ َ َ ُْ All glory be to You; and Exalted be You above all that the wrongdoers say, subhanaka wa ta`alayta `amma yaqulu alzzalimuna Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ًُعمُّواً َك ِبي ار in high exaltation! `uluwwan kabiran Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٱلس ْب ُع او م ٱلس ؾ ل ح ب س ت ّْ َّ ات َّ َ َ ُ ُ ََ ُ َ Declaring You glory are the seven heavens, tusabbihu laka alssamawatu alssab`u Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah وف َو َم ْف ِفي ِي َّف ض ٱالر و َ ُ َ َ the (layers of the) earth, and all beings therein. wal-araduna wa man fihinna Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ِ س ّْب ُح ِب َح ْم ِد َؾ ي ال إ ء ي ش ف م ف ا و ِ َ َُ ْ ْ ْ َ There is not a thing but celebrates Your praise. wa in min shay'in illa yusabbihu bihamdika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َفمَ َؾ ٱ ْل َح ْم ُد َوٱ ْل َم ْج ُد Yours are all praise, glory, falaka alhamdu walmajdu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو ُعمُُّو ٱ ْل َج ّْد and exaltation of majesty. wa `uluwwu aljaddi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ يا َذا ٱ ْلجالَ ِؿ و ٱال ْك َرِاـ َ َ َ O Owner of majesty, honor, ya dhaljalali wal-ikrami Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ض ِؿ و ٱال ْن َع ِاـ ف ل ٱ و َ ْ َ ْ َ grace, favoring, walfadli wal-in`ami Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ س ِاـ ج ل ٱ ي اد ٱالي و ْ َ َ َ and huge bestowals. wal-ayadi aljisami Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ يـ ر ك ل ٱ اد و ج ل ٱ ت ن ا و ْ ْ ْ َ ُ ََ َ َ ُ You are the All-magnanimous, the Allgenerous, wa anta aljawadu alkarimu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱلر يـ ح وؼ ؤ ٱلر َّ َّ ُ ُ ُ the All-tender, the All-merciful. alrra'ufu alrrahimu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah المَّ ُي َّـ ْاو ِس ْع َعمَ َّي ِم ْف ِرْزِق َؾ ٱ ْل َحالَ ِؿ O Allah, provide me largely with Your legally gotten sustenance, allahumma awsi` `alayya min rizqika alhalali Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اف ِني ِفي ب َد ِني وِد ِ وع يني َ ََ َ grant me wellbeing in my body and my faith, wa `afini fi badani wa dini Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِو آم ْف َخ ْوِفي َ secure my fears, wa amin khawfi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ؽ َرقَ َب ِتي ِم َف ِ ٱلن ار ت اع و ْ ْ َ and release me from Hellfire. wa i`tiq raqabati min alnnari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah المَّ ُي َّـ الَ تَ ْم ُك ْر ِبي O Allah, (please) do not plan against me, allahumma la tamkur bi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ستَ ْد ِر ْج ِني ت ال و َ َ ْ َ do not draw me near to destruction, wa la tastadrijni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوالَ تَ ْخ َد ْع ِني do not overreach me, wa la takhda`ni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ّْ ِ ٱإل ْن ِ سقَ ِة ٱ ْل ِج ّْف َو س ف ر ش ي ن ع ر ا ٱد و َ َّ َ َ َْ َ َ and drive away from me the evils of the corruptive Jinn and men. wadra' `anni sharra fasaqati aljinni wal-insi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah Imam Husain (á) then raised his head and looking towards sky with teary eyes, said with an audible voice: ِ ِ يف ع ام ٱلس ع م اس ا ي َّ َ َ َْ َ O most Hearing of all those who can hear! ya asma`a alssami`ina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ِ يف ر اظ ٱلن ر ص اب ا ي َ ََ ْ َ O most Seeing of all those who can see! ya absara alnnazirina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ يف ب اس ح ل ٱ ع ر اس ا ي و ْ َ َ َ َْ َ َ O swiftest of all those who call to account! wa ya asra`a alhasibina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ يف م اح ٱلر ـ ارح ا ي و َّ َ ََ ََ O most Merciful of all those who show mercy! wa ya arhama alrrahimina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ص ّْؿ َعمَى م َح َّم ٍد َو آؿ ُم َح َّم ٍد َ ُ (Please) send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اد ِة ٱ ْلمي ِ ام يف ٱلس َ َ َ َّ the auspicious chiefs; alssadati almayamini Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ اج ِت َي ح ـ ي م ٱل ؾ ل ا اس و ُ َّ َ َ َ ُ ْ َ and I beseech You for my request wa as'aluka allahumma hajati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ َّ ِ ـ ل ي اع ي ط يي ن ت ف إ ضَّرِني َما ا ي ت ل ٱ َ َ َ ْ ُ َ ْ َ ْ ْ َم َن ْعتَِني that if You answer, anything else that You reject will not harm me allati in a`taytaniha lam yadurrani ma mana`tani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ط ْيتَِني اع ا م ي ن ع ف ن ي ـ ل ا يي ن َ ْ َ ْ َ ْ َ ْ َ َ ََوِا ْف َم َن ْعت and if You reject, anything else that You respond will not benefit me. wa in mana`taniha lam yanfa`ni ma a`taytani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ اؾ َرقَ َب ِتي ِم َف ِ ٱلن ار َ اسالُ َؾ فَ َك ْ I beseech You for releasing me from Hellfire. as'aluka fakaka raqabati min alnnari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah الَ إِل َو إِالَّ ا ْن َت There is no god save You, la ilaha illa anta Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah يؾ لَ َؾ َ ش ِر َ ََو ْح َد َؾ ال only You, there is no partner with You. wahdaka la sharika laka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah لَ َؾ ٱ ْل ُم ْم ُؾ َولَ َؾ ٱ ْل َح ْم ُد To You is the kingdom and to You is all praise, laka almulku wa laka alhamdu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َشيء ق ّْ ير د ؿ ك ى م ع ت ن ا و َ ْ ُ َ َ َ َ ٌ ْ and You have power over all things. wa anta `ala kulli shay'in qadirun Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah …ب ر ا ي ب ر ا ي ب ر ا ي ّْ َّ َ َّ َ َ َ O my Lord! O my Lord! O my Lord… ya rabbi ya rabbi ya rabbi… Merits of Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah Imam Husain (á) then repeated ya-rabbi so frequently and effectively that he attracted the attentions of all the others who, instead of praying for granting their needs, surrounded Imam Husain (á) to listen to him and pray for the response of his supplication. Then, they wept with him. At sunset, they left Mount `Arafat with him. This is the end of Imam Husain’s supplicatory prayer on the `Arafat Day according to the narrations of al-Kaf`ami in his book of al-Balad alAmin and `Allamah al-Majlisi in his book of Zad alMa`ad. As for Sayyid Ibn Tawus, he, in his book of Iqbal al-A`mal, adds the following statements to the supplicatory prayer: Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ اي ن غ ي ف ير ق ف ل ٱ ا ن ا ي ي ل إ َ ْ َ َ َ ُ O my God, I am needy despite my richness; ilahi ana alfaqiru fi ghinaya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah وف فَ ِقي ارً ِفي فَ ْق ِري؟ ك ا ال ؼ ي ك ف َ ُ َ َ ُ ْ so, how can I not be needy in my neediness? fakayfa la akunu faqiran fi faqri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ إِل ِيي ا َنا ٱ ْلج اى ُؿ ِفي ِع ْم ِمي َ O my God, I am ignorant despite my knowledge; ilahi ana aljahilu fi `ilmi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah وف َج ُيوالً ِفي َج ْيِمي؟ ك ا ال ؼ ي ك ف َ َ ُ َ َ ُ ْ so, how can I not be ignorant in my ignorance? fakayfa la akunu jahulan fi jahli Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ ؼ تَ ْد ِب ِ ير َؾ ال ت ٱخ ف َّ إ ي ي ل إ َ ْ َ O my God, the variety of Your regulating of matters ilahi inna ikhtilafa tadbirika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ طو ِ اء َمقَ ِاد ير َؾ و ََ س ْر َع َة ُ َ and the swiftness of changes in Your ordainments wa sur`ata tawa'i maqadirika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ يف ِب َؾ ف ار ع ل ٱ ؾ اد ب ع ا ع ن م ْ َ َ َ َ ََ َ َ have urged Your servants, who recognize You, mana`a `ibadaka al`arifina bika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ ط ِ ٱلس ُك اء ُّ َع ِف َ وف إِلَى َع not to stop at a certain gift `an alsskuni ila `ata'in Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َوٱ ْل َي اس ِم ْن َؾ ِفي َبالَ ٍء and not to despair of You in tribulations. Walya'si minka fi bala'in Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ّْ ِ يؽ ِبمُ ْؤ ِمي م ي ا م ي ن م ي ي ل إ ُ َ َ O my God, coming out of me is that which fits my lowliness; ilahi minni ma yaliqu bilu'mi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ يؽ ِب َك َرِم َؾ م ي ا م ؾ ن م و ْ َ ُ َ َ َ but coming from You is that which befits Your nobleness. wa minka ma yaliqu bikaramika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ إِل ِيي وص ْف َت َن ْفس َؾ ِبٱلمُّ ْط ٱلرفَ ِة ِلي ؼ َو َّا َ َ َ O my God, You had ascribed to Yourself gentleness and kindness to me ilahi wasafta nafsaka billutfi walrra'fati li Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ض ْع ِفي ود ج و ؿ ب ق َ َ َ ُُ ْ before the existence of my weakness. qabla wujudi da`fi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ض ْع ِفي؟ ود ج و د ع ب ا م ي ن م ي ن ع ن م ت ف ا َ ْ َ َ َ ُ ُ ََْ َُ ُ ْ Will You deprive me of these two after the emergence of my weakness? afatamna`uni minhuma ba`da wujudi da`fi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ظير ِت ٱ ْلمح ِ ِ ِ اس ُف ِم ّْني ف إ ي ي ل إ َ ََ ََ ْ O my God, if amenities appear in my conduct, ilahi in zaharat almahasinu minni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ضِم َؾ َولَ َؾ ٱ ْل ِم َّن ُة َعمَ َّي ف ب ف َ َ ْ then that is on account of Your favors and Your conferral on me. fabifadlika wa laka alminnatu `alayya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِس اوئُ ِم ّْني م ل ٱ ت ر ي ظ ف ا و ِ ْ َ َ َ ََ ْ َ If evildoings appear in my conduct, wa in zaharat almasawi'u minni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah فَ ِب َع ْدِل َؾ َولَ َؾ ٱ ْل ُح َّج ُة َعمَ َّي then that is still Your justice and You have claim against me. fabi`adlika wa laka alhujjatu `alayya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ؼ تَ ِكمُِني َوقَ ْد تَ َك َّف ْم َت ِلي؟ ي ك ي ي ل إ َ َْ O my God, how may it be that You abandon me after You have vouched for me? ilahi kayfa takiluni wa qad takaffalta li Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱلن َّ اضاـ َوا ْن َت اص ُر ِلي؟ ؼ ي ك و َ َ ْ َ ُ َ How may I be aggrieved and You are my support? wa kayfa udamu wa anta alnnasiru li Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ؼ يب َوا ْن َت ٱ ْل َح ِف ُّي ِبي؟ اخ ي ك اـ َ َ ْ ْ ُ How may I be disappointed and You are undertaking my affairs? am kayfa akhibu wa anta alhafiyyu bi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah س ُؿ إِلَ ْي َؾ ِبفَ ْق ِري إِلَ ْي َؾ َّ َىا ا َنا اتََو Here I am begging You by my need for You. ha ana atawassalu ilayka bifaqri ilayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah س ُؿ إِلَ ْي َؾ َّ ؼ اتََو َ َو َك ْي How can I beg You wa kayfa atawassalu ilayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اف ي ِ ص َؿ إِلَ ْي َؾ؟ ؿ ا ح م و ى ا م ب َ ْ ٌ َ َ َُ َ by something that is impossible to reach You? bima huwa mahalun an yasila ilayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ش ُكو إِلَ ْي َؾ َح ِالي ْؼا َ ْاـ َك ْي How can I complain to You about my manners am kayfa ashku ilayka hali Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو ُى َو الَ َي ْخفَى َعمَ ْي َؾ؟ while they cannot be hidden from You? wa huwa la yakhfa `alayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ؼ اتَْر ِج ُـ ِب َمقَ ِالي َ ْاـ َك ْي How can I interpret my words am kayfa utarjimu bimaqali Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو ُى َو ِم ْن َؾ َب َرٌز إِلَ ْي َؾ؟ while You are their source? wa huwa minka barazun ilayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah آم ِالي ب ي خ ت ؼ ي ك اـ ّْ َ َ َ ُ ْ ْ َ ُ How come that You may let down my hopes, am kayfa tukhayyibu amali Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو ِى َي قَ ْد َوفَ َد ْت إِلَ ْي َؾ؟ while they are addressed to You? wa hiya qad wafadat ilayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اح َو ِالي ف س ح ت ال ؼ ي ك اـ َ َ َ ُ ْ ُ ْ ْ ْ How come that You may not improve my conditions am kayfa la tuhsinu ahwali Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ام ْت ق ؾ ب و َ َ َ َ while they are originated by You? wa bika qamat Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah طفَ َؾ ِبي َ إِل ِيي َما ا ْل O my God, how gentle You are to me ilahi ma altafaka bi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َم َع َع ِظ ِيـ َج ْيِمي despite my notorious ignorance! ma`a `azimi jahli Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو َما ْار َح َم َؾ ِبي How merciful You are to me wa ma arhamaka bi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah يح ِف ْعِمي ِ َم َع قَ ِب despite my hideous deeds! ma`a qabihi fi`li Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah إِل ِيي َما ا ْق َرَب َؾ ِم ّْني O my God, how nigh to me You are ilahi ma aqrabaka minni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو ْاب َع َد ِني َع ْن َؾ and how far from You I am! wa ab`adani `anka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ارفَ َؾ ِبي َو َما ْا How kind to me You are; wa ma ar'afaka bi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah فَ َما ٱلَِّذي َي ْح ُج ُب ِني َع ْن َؾ؟ so, what is that which can prevent me from You? fama alladhi yahjubuni `anka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َٱخ ِتال ِ ِ ِ َؼ ٱآلث ار ب ت م م ْ ُ ْ إِل ِيي َع O my God, I have known, through variety of signs ilahi `alimtu bikhtilafi al'athari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوتََنقُّالَ ِت ٱال ْط َو ِار and changes of phases, wa tanaqqulati al'atwari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ّْ َّ اف ي ن م اد َؾ ع ت ت ر ؼ إِلَ َّي ِفي ُك ّْؿ َ َّ َ َ َ ْ َ اف ُم َر ش ْي ٍء َ that what You want from me is that You introduce Yourself to me in all things anna muradaka minni an tata`arrafa ilayya fi kulli shay'in Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ش ْي ٍء ي ف اج َيمَ َؾ ال ى ت ح َ ْ َ so that I will not ignore You in any thing. hatta la ajhalaka fi shay'in Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ِ س ِني لُ ْؤ ِمي ر اخ ا م م ك ي ي ل إ ْ ُ َ َ َ O my God, whenever my lowliness suppresses my voice, ilahi kullama akhrasani lu'mi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah طقَ ِني َك َرُم َؾ َ ا ْن Your nobility encourages me to speak. antaqani karamuka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ و ُكمَّما آيستْ ِني اوص افي َ ْ ََ َ َ Whenever my features lead me to despair (of You), wa kullama ayasatni awsafi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ا ْط َم َعتْ ِني ِم َن ُن َؾ Your bestowals make me crave for You. atma`atni minanuka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ ئ او س م و ن اس ح م ت ن ا ك ف م ي ي ل إ ُ َ َ َْ َ َ َ ُ ََ ْ O my God, as for he whose good deeds are wrongdoings; ilahi man kanat mahasinuhu masawi'a Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِس اوئَ؟ م و اوئ س م وف ك ت ال ؼ ي ك ف َ َ ُ َ َ َ ُ ْ َ َ ُ َ َ ُ how can his wrongdoings not be wrongdoings? fakayfa la takunu masawi'uhu masawi'a Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ي او ع د و ق ائ ق ح ت ن ا ك ف م و ُ َ َ َ ََْ َ ََ ُ َ ْ As for he whose facts are mere claims, wa man kanat haqa'iquhu da`awiya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ي؟ او ع د اه او ع د وف ك ت ال ؼ ي ك ف َ َ ُ َ َ َ ْ َ ََُ َََ ُ how can his claims not be claims? fakayfa la takunu da`awahu da`awiya Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َيئتُ َؾ ٱ ْلق ِ ِ ِ َّ ِ اى َرُة ش م و ذ اف ٱلن ؾ م ك ح ي ي ل إ ُ ْ َُ ُ َ ََ O my God, Your unstoppable decree and Your surmounting volition ilahi hukmuka alnnafidhu wa mashi'atuka alqahiratu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ َلَـ َيتْرَكا ِل ِذي مق اؿ َمقَا ًال ُ ْ َ have not left any word to be said by any orator lam yatruka lidhi maqalin maqalan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ َوالَ ِل ِذي َح اؿ َحا ًال and have not left any manner to be displayed. wa la lidhi halin halan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ اع ٍة َب َن ْيتُ َيا ط ف م ـ ك ي ي ل إ َ َ ْ ْ َ O my God, too many are the acts of obedience that I have prepared ilahi kam min ta`atin banaytuha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٍ ش َّي ْدتُ َيا ة َ ََو َحال and the conducts that I have established, wa halatin shayyadtuha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٱع ِت َم ِادي َعمَ ْي َيا َع ْدلُ َؾ ـ د ى ْ َََ but Your justice has ruined my reliance on these, hadama i`timadi `alayha `adluka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ضمُ َؾ ف ا ي ن م ي ن ل ا ق ا ؿ ب َ َ َ ْ ْ ْ َ َ and, moreover, Your favoring has made me abandon them. bal aqalani minha fadluka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah إِل ِيي إِ َّن َؾ تَ ْعمَ ُـ O my God, You surely know ilahi innaka ta`lamu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ اع ُة ِم ّْني ِف ْعالً َج ْزم ًا ٱلط َ ّْاني َوِا ْف لَ ْـ تَ ُدِـ that even my obedience (to You) has not lasted in reality, anni wa in lam tadum altta`atu minni fi`lan jazman Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah د ًام ْت َم َح َّب ًة َو َع ْزما َ َ فَقَ ْد it has lasted in love (for it) and determination (to do it)! faqad damat mahabbatan wa `azman Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َاع ِزـ وا ْن َت ٱ ْلق ِ ِ اى ُر؟ ؼ ي ك ي ي ل إ َ َ ْ َ ُ ْ O my God, how can I determine, while You are All-supreme? ilahi kayfa a`zimu wa anta alqahiru Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اع ِزـ وا ْن َت ٱآلم ُر؟ ال ؼ ي ك و َ َ َ ْ َ َ ُ ْ How can I quit determining, while it is Your command (to determine)? wa kayfa la a`zimu wa anta al'amiru Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َإِل ِيي تََرُّد ِدي ِفي ٱآلث ار O my God, my hesitation in (following) Your traces ilahi taraddudi fi al'athari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ب ُب ْع َد ٱ ْل َم َز ِار وج ي ُ ُ will result in unlikely visitation; yujibu bu`da almazari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ُٱجمع ِني عمَ ْي َؾ ِب ِخ ْدم ٍة ت وصمُِني إِلَ ْي َؾ ف َ َ َْْ َ so, (please) join me to You through a service that takes me to You. fajma`ni `alayka bikhidmatin tusiluni ilayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ستَ َد ُّؿ َعمَ ْي َؾ ِبما ُى َو ِفي ُو ُج ي ك ي ؼ ود ِه َ ْ ُ َْ َ ُم ْفتَ ِقٌر إِلَ ْي َؾ؟ How can You be figured out through that whose existence relies on You? kayfa yustadallu `alayka bima huwa fi wujudihi muftaqirun ilayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ُّ ِ ِ س لَ َؾ ي ل ا م ور ي ٱلظ ف م ؾ ر ي غ ل وف ك اي َ َ ُ َ َ ْ ُ َ َْ َ ُ Can any thing other than You hold a (kind of) manifestation that You lack ayakunu lighayrika min alzzuhuri ma laysa laka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ وف ُى َو ٱ ْل ُم ْظ ِي َر لَ َؾ؟ ك ي ى ت ح ُ َ َ َ and thus it may act as an appearance for You? hatta yakuna huwa almuzhira laka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٍ اج إِلَى َدِل َّ ح ت ب غ ت ح ت م يؿ َي ُد ُّؿ ى ت ى ت َ َ َ َ َ ْ َ ْ َ َعمَ ْي َؾ؟ When have You ever been absent so that You may need something to point to You? mata ghibta hatta tahtaja ila dalilin yadullu `alayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ب ع د و وف ٱآلثَ ُار ِىي ك ت ح ت م ى ت ى ت ُ َ َ ْ َ َ َ َُ َ َ َ ِ ُٱلَّ ِتي ت وص ُؿ إِلَ ْي َؾ؟ When have You ever been far-off so that traces may lead to You? wa mata ba`udta hatta takuna al'atharu hiya allati tusilu ilayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اؾ َعمَ ْي َيا َرِقيب ًا ر ت ال ف ي ع ت ي م َ ََ َ ٌ ْ َ ْ َ َع Blind be the eye that cannot see You watching it. `amiyat `aynun la taraka `alayha raqiban Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ و ر س خ ت ص ْفقَ ُة َع ْب ٍد لَ ْـ تَ ْج َع ْؿ لَ ُو ِم ْف َ ْ َ َ َ ِ ح ّْب َؾ َن صيب ًا ُ Losing is a servant’s deal that does not dedicate a share to the love for You. wa khasirat safqatu `abdin lam taj`al lahu min hubbika nasiban Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِإ ِ َٱلر ُجوِع إِلَى ٱآلث ِ ار ي ي ل ُّ ام ْر َت ِب َ O my God, You have ordered us to refer to the traces; ilahi amarta bilrrju`i ila al'athari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ فَٱر ِجع ِني إِلَ ْي َؾ ِب س َوِة ٱال ْن َو ِار ك ْ ْ ْ therefore, (please do) make me refer to You with the garb of lights fa'arji`ni ilayka bikiswati al'anwari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ و ِى َداي ِة ِْ ٱالس ِص ار ب ت ﹾ َ َ َ ْ and the guidance of insight wa hidayati alistibsari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ َّ ار ع ج ي ل إ ي ن م ؾ م ك ا د ا م خ ت إِلَ ْي َؾ ى ْ َ ْ َ َ ُ َ َ َ َ ْ َ ْ َحت ِم ْن َيا so that I will return to You in the same way as I have entered to You from them hatta arji`a ilayka minha kama dakhaltu ilayka minha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ٱلسّْر َع ِف ظ ِر إِلَ ْي َيا ص م ّْ وف َ ٱلن َ ُ َ as being too protected to look at them masuna alssirri `an alnnazari ilayha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٱال ْع ِت َم ِاد َعمَ ْي َيا ع ٱ ْل ِي َّم ِة َع ِف ِﹾ و ف ر م و ُ َ َْ َ and too determining to depend upon them, wa marfu`a alhimmati `an ali`timadi `alayha Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َشيء ق ِ َّ ّْ ير د ؿ ك ى م ع ؾ ن إ َ ُ َ َ َ ٌ ْ for You have power over all things. innaka `ala kulli shay'in qadirun Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ظ اىٌر َب ْي َف َي َد ْي َؾ َ إِل ِيي ى َذا ُذلّْي O my God, this is my humiliation; it manifests itself before You. ilahi hadha dhulli zahirun bayna yadayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوى َذا َح ِالي الَ َي ْخفَى َعمَ ْي َؾ This is my manner; it cannot be concealed against You. wa hadha hali la yakhfa `alayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ وؿ إِلَ ْي َؾ ص و ل ٱ ب م ط ا ؾ ن م َ ُ ُْ ُ ُْ َ ْ From You do I beseech soaring to You minka atlubu alwusula ilayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ استَِد َّؿ َعمَ ْي َؾ ؾ ب و َ ْ َ and through You do I take the way to You. wa bika astadillu `alayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱى ِد ِني ِب ُن ور َؾ إِلَ ْي َؾ ْ َف So, (please do) guide me to You through Your Light fahdini binurika ilayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ و ِاقم ِني ِب ِ ؽ ٱ ْل ُع ُب ِ ص ْد ود َّي ِة َب ْي َف َي َد ْي َؾ ْ َ and make me stand up before Your Hands with the true servitude to You. wa aqimni bisidqi al`ubudiyyati bayna yadayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ إِل ِيي َعمّْ ْم ِني ِم ْف ِع ْم ِم َؾ ٱ ْل َم ْخ ُز وف O my God, (please do) teach me from Your veiled knowledge ilahi `allimni min `ilmika almakhzuni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ّْ ِ ِ ص ِ وف م ل ٱ ؾ ر ت س ب ي ن ص و ْ ْ َ ُ َ ُ َ and protect me with Your shielding shelter. wa sunni bisitrika almasuni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ّْ ِ ِ ِ ِ اى ِؿ ٱ ْلقُْر ِب ؽ ائ ق ح ب ي ن ق ق ح ي ي ل إ ْ َ ْ َ َ O my God, (please do) grant me the realities that are enjoyed by the people who are near to You ilahi haqqiqni bihaqa'iqi ahli alqurbi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اى ِؿ ٱ ْل َج ْذ ِب ؾ م س م ي ب ٱسمُ ْؾ و َ ْ َ ْ َ ْ َ and make me follow the course of the people who are attracted to You. wasluk bi maslaka ahli aljadhbi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ير َؾ ِلي َع ْف تَ ْد ِب ِ إِل ِيي ا ْغ ِن ِني ِبتَ ْد ِب يري O my God, make Your management of my affairs replace my management of my affairs, ilahi aghnini bitadbirika li `an tadbiri Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ٱخ ِت َي ِ ِ اري ف ع ؾ ار ي ت ْ َ َ َ ٱخ ْ َوِب make Your choice for me replace my choice for myself, wa bikhtiyarika `an ikhtiyari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِ ٱض ِط َر ِاري ز اك ر م ى م ع ي ن ف ق او و ْ َ ْ َْ ََ َ and make me stop at the points of emergency. wa awqifni `ala marakizi idtirari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah اخ ِر ْج ِني ِم ْف ُذ ّْؿ َن ْف ِسي ْ إِل ِيي O my God, (please do) take my out of the humiliation of myself ilahi akhrijni min dhulli nafsi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ش ّْكي َو ِش ْرِكي ف م ي ن ط ّْي ْر َ َو َ ْ and purify me from my suspicion and polytheism wa tahhirni min shakki wa shirki Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ُقَ ْب َؿ ُحم وؿ َرْم ِسي before I enter my grave. qabla hululi ramsi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ص ْرِني ن ٱ ف ر ص ت ن ا ؾ ب َ ْ ْ ُ ُ َ َ Only through You do I achieve victory; so, (please do) give me victory. bika antasiru fansurni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو َعمَ ْي َؾ اتََو َّك ُؿ فَالَ تَ ِك ْم ِني Only upon You do I rely; so, do not refer me to anyone else. wa `alayka atawakkalu fala takilni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah اسا ُؿ فَالَ تُ َخ ّْي ْب ِني اؾ ي ا و َّ ِ َ ْ َ Only You do I beseech; so, do not disappoint me. wa iyyaka as'alu fala tukhayyibni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ب فَالَ تَ ْح ِرْم ِني غ ار ؾ م ض ف ي ف و َ َ َ ُ ْ ْ َ Only for Your favors do I desire; so, do not deprive me (of Your favors). wa fi fadlika arghabu fala tahrimni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َوِبج َنا ِب َؾ ا ْنت ب فَالَ تُْب ِع ْد ِني س ُ َ َ Only to Your side do I resort; so, do not set me aside. wa bijanabika antasibu fala tub`idni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ؼ فَالَ تَ ْط ُرْد ِني اق ؾ ب ا ب ب ُ َ َ َو At Your door only do I stand; so, do not drive me away. wa bibabika aqifu fala tatrudni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ َّ س د ق ت ض ر اف اؾ ي ك ل إ وف لَ ُو ِعمَّ ٌة ي ي َ ُ َ َ ْ َ َ َ َ ِم ْن َؾ O my God, Your pleasure is too sanctified to receive a defect from You; ilahi taqaddasa ridaka an yakuna lahu `illatun minka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah وف لَ ُو ِعمَّ ٌة ِم ّْني؟ ك ي ؼ ي ك ف َ ُ َ َ ُ َ ْ hence, how can it receive a defect from me? fakayfa yakunu lahu `illatun minni Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ اف ي ِ ِ ِ ِ ؾ ات ذ ب ي ن غ ل ٱ ت ن ا ل إ ص َؿ إِلَ ْي َؾ ي ي َ ْ َ ْ َ ُّ ْ َ َ َّ ٱلن ْفعُ ِم ْن َؾ O my God, You are too self-sufficient by Yourself to be benefited by Yourself; ilahi anta alghaniyyu bidhatika an yasila ilayka alnnaf`u minka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah وف َغ ِن ّياً َع ّْني؟ ك ت ال ؼ ي ك ف َ َ ُ َ َ َ ُ ْ hence, how can You not be self-sufficient from me? fakayfa la takunu ghaniyyan `annai Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ضاء وٱ ْلقَ َدر يم ّْن ِ ِ ِ يني ق ل ٱ ف َّ إ ي ي ل إ ْ َ َُ َ َ َ َ O my God, fate awakens my hope ilahi inna alqada'a walqadara yumannini Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َوِا َّف ٱ ْليوى ِبوث ِ َّ ِ اس َرِني ة و ي ٱلش ؽ ائ َ َْ َ ََ َ and whim has enchained me with the firm chains of lust; wa inna alhawa biwatha'iqi alshshahwati asarani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱلن َّ ير ِلي ص ت ن ا ف ك ف َ ْ ُ َ ْ َ so, (please do) be my Supporter fakun anta alnnasira li Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ص َرِني ن ت ى ت ح ّْ ص َرِني َوتَُب ْ َ َ ُ so that You shall back me and show me the right path. hatta tansurani wa tubassirani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ضِم َؾ ف ب ي ن ن غ ا و ْ َ ْ َ And (please do) help me (to dispense with anyone else) through Your favors wa aghnini bifadlika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ َّ طمَ ِبي ف ع ؾ ب ي ن ى ت ح َ ْ َ َ َ استَ ْغ َ ْ so that I shall depend upon You exclusively in my requests. hatta astaghniya bika `an talabi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّ ِ ُش َرْق َت ٱال ْن َو َار ِفي ُقم ا وب ي ذ ا ْن َت ٱل ْ ْاوِل َي ِائ َؾ It is You Who have lit the illuminations in the hearts of Your intimate servants anta alladhi ashraqta al'anwara fi qulubi awliya'ika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah وؾ َ وؾ َوَو َّح ُد َ َُحتَّى َع َرف so that they have recognized and testified Your Oneness. hatta `arafuka wa wahhaduka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َُوا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي َازْل َت ٱال ْغ َي َار َع ْف ُقم وب ِ اح َّب ِائ َؾ It is You Who have removed love for others from the hearts of Your lovers wa anta alladhi azalta al'aghyara `an qulubi ahibba'ika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ اؾ و س ٱ و ب ح َحتَّى لَ ْـ ُي ُّ َ َ so that they have loved none save You hatta lam yuhibbu siwaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َولَ ْـ َي ْم َجاوٱ إِلَى َغ ْي ِر َؾ and they have resorted to none save You. wa lam yalja'u ila ghayrika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ س لَ ُي ْـ ن ؤ م ل ٱ ت ن ا ْ ْ ْ ُ ُ َ You alone are entertaining them anta almu'nisu lahum Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah شتْ ُي ُـ ٱ ْل َع َو ِال ُـ ُ َح ْي َ ث ْاو َح when they have felt lonely because of the other worlds. haythu awhashat-hum al`awalimu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي َى َد ْيتَ ُي ْـ You alone have guided them wa anta alladhi hadaytahum Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٱستََبا َن ْت لَ ُي ُـ ٱ ْل َم َع ِال ُـ ث ي ح ُ َْ ْ so that all other worlds manifested themselves before them. haythu istabanat lahum alma`alimu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َما َذا َو َج َد َم ْف فَقَ َد َؾ؟ What can one who misses You find any substitute? madha wajada man faqadaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َو َما ٱلَِّذي فَقَ َد َم ْف َو َج َد َؾ؟ What can one who finds You miss anything else? wa ma alladhi faqada man wajadaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ لَقَ ْد َخاب م ْف ر ض َي ُدوَن َؾ َب َد ًال َ َ َ Definitely, failing is he who has accepted anyone other than You as substitute. laqad khaba man radiya dunaka badalan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َولَقَ ْد َخ ِس َر َم ْف َب َغى َع ْن َؾ ُمتَ َح ّْو ًال Definitely, loser is he who have desired for anyone other than You. wa laqad khasira man bagha `anka mutahawwilan Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اؾ و س َ َ ؼ ُي ْر َجى َ َك ْي How can anyone other than You be hoped kayfa yurja siwaka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ اف؟ س ح ٱإل ت ع ط ق ا م ت ن ا و َ َ ْ َ َ ْ َْ َ َ َ whilst You have never stopped Your bounties? wa anta ma qata`ta al'ihsana Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ب ِم ْف َغ ْي ِر َؾ م ط ي ؼ ي ك و ْ َ َ َ ُ ُ ْ َ How can anyone other than You be besought wa kayfa yutlabu min ghayrika Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱال ْم ِت َن َّ اف؟ ادةَ ِﹾ ع ت ل د ب ا م ت ن ا و ْ ْ ََ َ َ َ َ َ whilst You have never changed Your habit of ceaseless bestowal? wa anta ma baddalta `adata alimtinani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ س ِة ن ا ؤ م ل ٱ ة و ال ح ه اء ب اح اؽ ذ ا ف م ا ي َّ َ ْ َ َ َ َ َْ َ َ َ ُ َ َ َُ O He Who has made His lovers the sweet taste of entertainment; ya man adhaqa ahibba'ahu halawata almu'anasati Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ّْ يف ق م م ت م و ي د ي ف ي ب ٱ و ام ق ف َ َ َ َ َ ُ ْ ََ َ َْ ُ therefore, they have stood up before Him flattering Him! faqamu bayna yadayhi mutamalliqina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ س َى ْي َب ِت ِو ب ال م ه اء ي ل او س ب ل ا ف م ا ي و َ ْ َ َ َُ َ ْ َ َ ْ َ ََ O He Who has dressed His intimate servants the garments of fearing Him; wa ya man albasa awliya'ahu malabisa haybatihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ يف ر ف غ ت س م و ي د ي ف ي ب ٱ و ام ق ف َ ْ َ َ َ ْ ُ ْ ََ َ َْ ُ therefore, they have stood before Him seeking His forgiveness! faqamu bayna yadayhi mustaghfirina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ َّ ِ ِ ِ يف ر اك ٱلذ ؿ ب ق ر اك ٱلذ ت ن ا َ ْ َ َ َ ْ ُ You do mention the others (with bounties) before they mention You. anta aldhdhakiru qabla aldhdhakirina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ ِس ح ٱإل ب ب ل ٱ و ئ اد ت ن ا اف قَ ْب َؿ تََو ُّج ِو ْ ْ َ ُ َ َ َ ْ ِ ِ يف د ب َ ٱ ْل َعا You do spread Your compassion before the worshippers direct towards You. wa anta albadi'u bil'ihsani qabla tawajjuhi al`abidina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ب ق طمَ ِب ؿ اء َ َ َْ ط َ اد ِبٱ ْل َع ُ َوا ْن َت ٱ ْل َج َو ِ َّ ِ يف ب ال َ ٱلط You do give generously before You are asked. wa anta aljawadu bil`ata'i qabla talabi alttalibina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ و ل ٱ و اب ثُ َّـ ِل َما َو َى ْب َت لَ َنا ِم َف ى ت ن ا ْ ْ َ ُ َ َ ِ ِ يف ض ر ستَ ْق م ل ٱ ْ َ ْ ُ You do bestow upon us and then borrow from us that which You have bestowed upon us. wa anta alwahhabu thumma lima wahabta lana min almustaqridina Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ إِل ِيي ٱ ْطمُ ْب ِني ِبر ْحم ِت َؾ حتَّى اص َؿ إِلَ ْي َؾ َ َ َ O my God, (please do) refer to me with Your mercy so that I will appear before You. ilahi utlubni birahmatika hatta asila ilayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ٱج ِذ ْب ِني ِب َم ّْن َؾ َحتَّى ا ْق ِب َؿ َعمَ ْي َؾ و ْ َ (Please do) draw me towards You through Your endless favoring so that I will advance to You. wajdhibni bimannika hatta uqbila `alayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah إِل ِيي إِ َّف َر َج ِائي الَ َي ْنقَ ِطعُ َع ْن َؾ َوِا ْف ص ْيتُ َؾ ع َ َ O my God, verily, my hope for You does not cease despite that I may disobey You. ilahi inna raja'i la yanqati`u `anka wa in `asaytuka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ط ْعتُ َؾ ا ف ا و ي ن َّ َك َما َ ْ ِ َ ُاف َخوِفي الَ ُي َاز ِيم Similarly, my fear from You does not leave me even if I obey You. kama anna khawfi la yuzayiluni wa in ata`tuka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َدفَ َعتْ ِن َي ٱ ْل َع َو ِال ُـ إِلَ ْي َؾ فَقَ ْد The Worlds have pushed me towards You faqad dafa`atni al`awalimu ilayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوقَ ْد ْاوقَ َع ِني ِع ْم ِمي ِب َك َرِم َؾ َعمَ ْي َؾ and my acquaintance with Your magnanimity has led me to You. wa qad awqa`ani `ilmi bikaramika `alayka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ِ امِمي؟ ت ن ا و يب اخ ؼ ي ك ي ي ل إ ْ َ َ ْ َ َ َ ُ O my God, how can I fail whilst You are my hope? ilahi kayfa akhibu wa anta amali Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah اف َو َعمَ ْي َؾ ُمتَّ َكِمي؟ اى ؼ ي ك اـ َ َ ُ َ ْ ْ How can I be humiliated whilst I depend upon You? am kayfa uhanu wa `alayka muttakali Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ّْ ؼ استَ ِعُّز وِفي ِ ِ ٱلذلَّ ِة ْارَك ْزتَِني؟ ي ك ي ي ل إ َ َ ْ ْ َ How can see dignity if You fix me in humiliation? ilahi kayfa asta`izzu wa fi aldhdhillati arkaztani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ُّ س ْبتَِني؟ ن ؾ ي ل ا و ز ع ت اس ال ؼ ي ك اـ ِ َ َ َ َ َ َ َ ْ َ ْ ْ ْ َ How can I not see dignity whilst You have referred me to You? am kayfa la asta`izzu wa ilayka nasabtani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ي ك ل إ ؼ الَ ا ْفتَ ِق ُر َوا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي ِفي ي ي َ َْ ِ ٱ ْلفُقَر اء اقَ ْمتَِني؟ َ O my God, how can I not be needy whilst it is You Who have lodged me among the needy? ilahi kayfa la aftaqiru wa anta alladhi fi alfuqara'i aqamtani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ؼ ا ْفتَ ِق ُر َوا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي ِب ُج ود َؾ َ ْاـ َك ْي ا ْغ َن ْيتَِني؟ How can I be needy whilst You have made me rich out of Your magnanimity? am kayfa aftaqiru wa anta alladhi bijudika aghnaytani Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوا ْن َت ٱلَِّذي الَ إِل َو َغ ْي ُر َؾ It is You, there is no god save You, wa anta alladhi la ilaha ghayruka Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ّْ ِ ش ْي ٌء ؾ م ي ج ا م ف ء ي ش ؿ ك ل َ َ َ َ َ َ ْ َ ُ تَ َعَّرْف َت Who have introduced Yourself to all things; therefore, nothing has ever ignored You. ta`arrafta likulli shay'in fama jahilaka shay'un Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ َّ ِ ّْ ش ْي ٍء ؿ ك ي ف ي ل إ ت ف ر ع ت ي ذ ل ٱ ت ن ا و ْ َّ َ ْ َ ُ َ َّ َ َ َ َ It is You Who have introduced Yourself to me in all things; wa anta alladhi ta`arrafta ilayya fi kulli shay'in Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ ّْ ش ْي ٍء ؿ ك ي ف ر ا اى ً ظ َ فََر ْايتُ َؾ َ ُ therefore, I have seen You Manifest in all things. fara'aytuka zahiran fi kulli shay'in Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ِ َّ ّْ ش ْي ٍء ؿ ك ل ر اى َ ُ ُ َوا ْن َت ٱلظ It is You Who give manifestation to all things. wa anta alzzahiru likulli shay'in Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱستََوى ِب َر ْح َم ِان َّي ِت ِو ف م ا ي ْ َ َ O He Who is firm in power through His Allbeneficence; ya man istawa birahmaniyyatihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ش َغ ْيباً ِفي َذ ِات ِو ف َ ُ ص َار ٱ ْل َع ْر َ therefore, the Throne has become unseen in His Essence. fasara al`arshu ghayban fi dhatihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ََم َح ْق َت ٱآلثَ َار ِبٱآلث ار You have erased the traces by the traces; mahaqta al'athara bil'athari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ط ِ ات ا ْفالَ ِؾ ي ح َ َو َم َح ْو َت ٱال ْغ َي َار ِب ُم ٱال ْن َو ِار and You have erased the changeable by the surroundings of the orbits of lights. wa mahawta al'aghyara bimuhitati aflaki al'anwari Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َٱحتَجب ِفي سر ِادق ِ ات َع ْر ِش ِو ف م ا ي ََ ْ َ َ َُ O He Who has screened Himself in the curtains of His Throne; ya man ihtajaba fi suradiqati `arshihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ص ُار ٱالب و ك ر د ت اف ف ع َ ُ َ ْ ُ ْ ْ َْ hence, He cannot be comprehended by visions! `an an tudrikahu al-absaru Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َيا م ْف تَ َجمَّى ِب َكم اؿ َب َي ِائ ِو َ َ O He Who has manifested Himself with His perfect Magnificence; ya man tajalla bikamali baha'ihi Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ظمتُ ُو ِم َف ِ ٱالس ِتو َّ اء ﹾ ع ت ق ق ح ت ف َ َ َ َ َْ َ َ ْ َ therefore, His Grandeur of being firm in power. fatahaqqaqat `azamatuhu min alistiwa'i Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َّؼ تَ ْخفَى وا ْن َت ٱلظ اى ُر؟ ي ك َ َْ َ How can You be hidden whilst You are the Manifester (of all things)? kayfa takhfa wa anta alzzahiru Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ ٱلرِقيب ٱ ْلح ِ اض ُر؟ ت ن ا و يب غ ت ؼ ي ك اـ َّ ْ َ َ َ َ َ ُ ْ ْ َ ُ Or how can You be absent whilst You are the Watcher (over all things) and the Present (at all times). am kayfa taghibu wa anta alrraqibu alhadiru Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah ِ َشي ٍء ق ِ َّ ّْ ير د ؿ ك ى م ع ؾ ن إ َ ُ َ َ َ ٌ ْ Verily, You have power over all things. innaka `ala kulli shay'in qadirun Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َوٱ ْل َح ْم ُد ِلمَّ ِو َو ْح َد ُه All praise be to Allah alone. walhamdu lillahi wahdahu Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah َّ ِ ص ّْؿ َعمَى م َح َّم ٍد َو آؿ ُم َح َّم ٍد ـ ي م ل ا َ َّ َ ُ ُ O Allah, (please do) send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin Imam Husain (á) dua for the Day of A'ráfah Please recite a Sura E Fatiha for ALL MARHUMEEN For any errors / comments please write to: [email protected] Kindly recite Sura E Fatiha for Marhumeen of all those who have worked towards making this small work possible.
