One of the key questions facing the United States will be the youth and relative inexperience of its sprinters. She carried off top prize in the overall competition for 13-14 year old girls. Miss Swart took firsts in both the 100 meter freestyle and fly and placed third in the 200 meter individual medley. A fourth in the 200 free and an eighth in the 100 backstroke put her en top of the heap. P i t t s b u r g h also placed third of 35 teams in total points in that division. Carrie Seal took a third in the 1112 girls in the 50 meter fly and Doug Doran and Cheryl Picard had sevenths in the boys JO and under 50 meter breaststroke and senior girls 100 backstroke, respectively. PLATTSBURGH : = Xn estimated 45 teams will turn Bluff Point Golf Course into a friendly battlefield Saturday and Sunday in the club's tenth annual MemberGuest tournament. (UPI) — Rosalae Lehmann rushed around her central Kansas home Thursday packing for an unexpected Trip to Montreal Olympics to visit the granddaughter she has not seen since leaving East Germany 15 Pizzeria to host softbail tourney years ago. "I c a n t believe it. It's like a dream to j n e . " the 66-year-old white-haired grandmother said. "They have guaranteed tHat I will be able to talk to my granddaughter." Mrs. Lehmann's granddaughter is 17-year-old Kornelia Ender, a East German Olympic swimmer who already has won two gold medais. Mrs. Lehmann and her husband, Kornelias step-grandfather, had briefly considered traveling to Montreal to visit the star swimmer, but had to drnrrthe-pians because of financial reasons and settle for watching Kornelia on television. But then a representative of the American Broadcasting Compny, which is televising the Olympics, called Mrs. Lehmann Thursday morning. PLATTSBURGH — A single elimination Slowpitch softbail tournament -sponsored by the Pizzeria is open for entries, according to Bob Staves. Scheduled to begin Sunday, the tourney ^drawing will be held Friday at 8 p.m. at South Acres Field. Entries are >50 per team. $1,000 will be distributed to the winning team.
