Nas últimas décadas, a European Conference on South Asian Studies (ECSAS) tem constituído uma importante plataforma de debate sobre as tendências contemporâneas da investigação mundial sobre a Ásia do Sul. Estas conferências são realizadas bienalmente, sob os auspícios da European Association for South Asian Studies (EASAS), associação sem fins lucrativos que reúne investigadores provenientes de diferentes países e áreas de estudo. A 22nd European Conference on South Asian Studies (ECSAS) é organizada em 2012 pelo Centro em Rede de Investigação em Antropologia (CRIA). Este evento terá lugar em Lisboa, entre os dias 25 a 28 de Julho, nas instalações do ISCTE- Instituto Universitário de Lisboa. A ECSAS2012 irá reunir alguns dos mais relevantes especialistas sobre a Ásia do Sul, tais como os keynote speakers Tanika Sarkar da Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi e David Washbrook, do Trinity College, Cambridge University. For the last decades, the European Conference on South Asian Studies (ECSAS) has been an important platform for debate and illustration of contemporary trends in South Asian studies worldwide. The ECSAS conferences are held biennially under the auspices of the European Association for South Asian Studies (EASAS), a professional, non-profit organization of scholars engaged in research and teaching concerning South Asia with regard to all periods and fields of study. In 2012, the 22nd European Conference on South Asian Studies (ECSAS) is organized by Centre for Research in Anthropology (CRIA). The event will take place between the 25th to 28th July, hosted by ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon. The ECSAS2012 will bring together some of the most relevant researchers on South Asia, such as keynote speakers Tanika Sarkar's from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi and David Washbrook from Trinity College, Cambridge University. Scholars and students from any field of research related to the South Asian region are invited to participate in the 22nd European Conference on South Asian Studies (ECSAS), registering on the website: http://ecsas2012.iscte.pt/, where all information about the congress can be found.
