This product is the most economical as it allows to obtain larger amounts of ferrite and decreases the tendency of free carbides formation in cast iron. Although the contents of Cerium and Rare Earth Alloys, present in the alloys are low, the sum of these two have nodulizing effect and hence helps the Magnesium providing better yields. The silicon contained in the inoculant is an excellent ferritizing and graphitizing. Moreover, this element increases the incorporation into the metal. The silicon contained in this inoculant is an excellent ferritizing and graphitizing. Moreover, this element increases the incorporation into the metal. The Zirconium is an Oxygen, Nitrogen and Sulphur binder and eliminates impurities in the base iron in the liquid state. The high content of silicon serves to further increase the number of eutectic cells. Because of its efficiency, it can be used in smaller quantities when compared to other inoculants. The Zirconium has a great affinity with oxygen, nitrogen and sulfur, reducing its harmful effects in steels. It is widely used as a deoxidizing agent. It diminishes the chilling effect in special alloyed cast iron, facilitates the attainment of globular inclusions of smaller size and avoids brittle inclusions during rolling or steel forging. Therefore, it is an essential raw material for producing iron and steel. It is mainly used as a deoxidizer in the steel production and as an alloying element in steel alloys or cast iron production.
