Residency in Radiology: São João Hospital in Porto, 2003-2008.
Registered in the College of Radiology of the Portuguese Medical Association,
professional certificate number 40377.
PROFESSIONAL CAPABILITY: capable of carrying out all types of examinations by
ultrasound, computerized tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. Has specific
training in breast pathology – specifically, mammography, mammary intervention and
mammary magnetic resonance – having undertaken a residency in this area in the
Portuguese Institute of Oncology in Lisbon and having been a ‘Visiting/Research
Fellow’ in the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
CURRENT ACTIVITY:
Consultant (Specialist) radiologist in São João Hospital, Porto; provides emergency
service and conducts all types of body examinations.
Is part of the Breast Pathology Unit team of São João Hospital.
Is Supervisor of one of the Radiology Residents in the São João Hospital.
Also provides specialist service in the ‘Consultório Dr Campos Costa’ (Porto) (which
provides many types of medical imaging services), the ‘Instituto CUF’ (Matosinhos), the
‘Hospital de Santa Luzia (ULSAM/Viana do Castelo)’ (Viana do Castelo) and in the
‘Consultório de Radiologia e Ecografia de Vila do Conde’ (Vila do Conde).
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
Was voluntary teacher of the discipline of Radiology in the 4th year and of the
discipline of Clinical Anatomy in the 2nd year of Medicine Course at Oporto University.
Participated in the training and teaching of radiographers.
TRAINING IN RADIOLOGY
Specialty Resident in São João Hospital (2003-2008).

During the Residency did specific training in breast imagiology in Portuguese Oncology
Institute in Lisbon (2007) and in Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York
(2007).

WORKS AND PUBLICATIONS
She has presented many scientific papers in national and international conferences,
two of which won prizes in international conferences (a publication invitation having
