TRAVELLING IN A SAILBOAT
Love for the nature, the ocean
and peace are necessary if you
travel on a sailboat.
A sailboat is a boat that uses
the wind to travel over the ocean.
You work a lot in the boat.
You clean the boat and cook
your food every day, and you
check the wind and the direction
of the boat every hour.
When you visit an island, you
see a lot of different things, learn
new languages and make new
friends.
In the boat, you usually have a
lot of time to read and study,
because the boat travels very
slowly: it travels at approximately
7 kilometers per hour, if the wind
is good.

With dictionaries, we can find or check the
meaning of new words. Bilingual dictionaries give
us the words in two languages. Dictionaries also
show the pronunciation of the words, and their
grammatical label.
We can find information about places in
atlases, maps and plans. An atlas is a collection of
maps of different countries. A plan is much
smaller: it usually shows a house, or part of a
town. A map shows a region or a country.
We can find lots of information in big books,
such as encyclopedias, in special places, such as
libraries, or on the internet. People can give us
information, too. Teachers and parents often have
specific information. And our friends often know
very special things. Other useful places for
information are newspapers and phone books.
