Masmudi Kebir é um ritmo da música clássica do Egito mas também da
música para dança oriental. A sua origem remonta a milhares de anos,
onde, nos antigos templos egípcios, a sorte de dançar perante os deuses
para implorar favores estava reservada a poucas mulheres. Com a invasão
árabe os sultões podiam conceder privilégios às que se destacavam
pela sua sensualidade e beleza. O harém seria um passo inevitável para
algumas dessas mulheres, que mais tarde conseguiriam presentes e
favores inimagináveis. Posteriormente, com a chegada dos turcos, esta
dança seria enriquecida a nível técnico mas sem perder a sua magia, o seu
esplendor e o seu mistério.
Masmudi Kebir is a rhythm of Egyptian classical music but also of Oriental dance
music. Its origins dates back thousands of years, when only a few women were
fortunate enough to dance before the gods in the ancient Egyptian temples,
imploring favours. With the Arab invasions, the sultans could grant privileges
to those who stood out for their voluptuousness and beauty. The harem was
inevitable for some of those women, who would later receive unimaginable gifts
and favours. Later on, with the arrival of the Turks, this dance was technically
improved without losing its magic, splendour and mystery.

Ninguém” leva os espetadores a usufruírem de hilariantes momentos de
boa disposição. A escolha dos quadros, levada a cabo pelo diretor de atores,
encenador e também ator principal Octávio Matos, recaiu sobre alguns dos
grandes sucessos criados para revista nos anos 80 e 90 mas que continuam a ser
utilizados depois de sujeitos a ligeiras adaptações.

viewers to hilarious moments of good humor. Octávio Matos, stage and art director, and
also protagonist, chose the scenes from some of the great revues staged in the 80’s and
90’s, which are still used after being subjected to minor changes.

O dia nasce do lado de lá do muro do Asilo. Lá dentro a loucura tomou o lugar
do quotidiano, e os que ali habitam esquecem-se de quem foram. As vozes e os
desejos são abafados pelas paredes gigantes deste exílio silencioso. No Asilo,
as enfermeiras são as Rainhas mestras que comandam os movimentos dos
pacientes; uma mulher limpa os desejos negros dos outros na sombra; e um
homem prisioneiro de um corpo enfermo, e da sua loucura, transforma os seus
desejos de Pássaro nos corpos dos pacientes. Como numa gaiola em que a ave
não ousa o bater das asas, o Asilo é uma jaula de gente.

The sun rises beyond the walls of the Asylum. Inside, madness has taken over the routines
of the residents, who forgot who they once were. Voices and desires are muffled by the
giant walls of this silent exile. At the Asylum, nurses are queens who command the
movements of the patients; a woman cleans the dark wishes of others in the shade; and
a man, prisoner of his sick body and madness, turns his Bird wishes into the patients
bodies. Like a cage in which the bird dares not to beat its wings, the Asylum is a cage
for people.

Algarve has many long-standing traditions associated with Carnival. Loulé
is no exception and has one of the oldest and best-known parades in the
country. The town is filled with colours and joy. The famous parade of floats,
with ‘cabeçudos’, samba performers, and a whole lot of music - a celebration
for everyone. The usual frolics and lots of entertainment will fill the streets of
Loulé with joy!

The golden age of national comedy is the theme of a special TV show. The double act
Jacinto Leite and Alberto Cruz have been making the country laugh for over 40 years,
and everybody is waiting for the opportunity to see them and their famous sketches
again. They had not spoken for 12 years, and it wasn’t without reluctance they accepted
the reunion - as very few of you know, they cannot stand each other. They will be
