Language Focus
Verb gostar
The verb gostar (to like) is a regular verb. It is always followed by the preposition de.

 If you like something specific you need to merge the de with the article:
de + o = do
de + a = da
de + os = dos
de + as = das
Eu gosto de cerveja. (I like beer)
BUT
Eu gosto da cerveja do Brazil. (I like the beer from Brazil)
If the thing you like normally comes with the definite article, for example, o Brazil (the Brazil) you also
need to merge the preposition with the article.
Eu gosto do Brasil.(I like Brazil)
Verb amar
The verb amar (to love) is also a regular verb. Unlike gostar, it is not followed by any preposition. You go
straight to the thing you love or the thing you love doing.

Verb adorar
The verb adorar (to adore) is also a regular verb. It does not take any preposition. This verb is slightly more
common for people to use than amar when they want to say that they “love” something or doing something.
