Virtuity (NZ) - raced keenly passing the 1500m. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormal findings other than the mare had lost its off hind plate in running. Willis - rounding the home turn became unbalanced when bumped by Comprehensive. Cinnamon Carter - checked at the 300m when tightened for room between Comprehensive and Virtuity (NZ) which shifted out abruptly after being struck with the whip. Heres Ya Hat - a post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities other than a slow recovery. Race 2 - SWEENEY THE CAN DO AGENTS HANDICAP - 1200 metres: Redentes Edge - stood flat footed and lost considerable ground and trainer Mr Robert Lont was advised that the gelding must perform to the satisfaction of Stewards in an official trial prior to starting again. Lazyaxl - began awkwardly and lost its footing and knuckled resulting in its rider Chad Schofield becoming severely unbalanced and as a result Lazyaxl lost considerable ground. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and Stewards will follow up with the Stewards in the coming days. Alaska - began awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 600m when attempting to improve its position, shifted out and bumped with Lazyaxl. Laid in from the 500m until entering the home straight and had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the home straight. Rider Regan Bayliss pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the careless riding being that near the 50m he rode his mount in across the running of Super Flyer (NZ) when not sufficiently clear of that horse resulting in that horse having to be checked to avoid his mounts heels. In arriving at this decision Stewards acknowledged Cool Rules had shifted out slightly and contributed to the incident. Regan Bayliss had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight November 28th, a total of six provincial race meetings. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account this was Regan Baylisss first suspension for careless riding, his guilty plea, the incident was in the low range and took into account the contribution from Cool Rules. Super Flyer (NZ) - when over-racing passing the 700m was awkwardly placed onto the heels of Cool Rules before being steadied by its rider. Race 3 - ESSENDON TERRACE HANDICAP - 1200 metres: Jiggle It - fourth placegetter; rider Josh Cartwright viewed the Stewards film before deciding not to lodge an objection. Tightened near the 200m when Gold Bridian (Nikita Beriman), after being held up, shifted ground outwards to improve its position. Nikita Beriman was advised to exercise more care. Special Edition - slow to begin. Held up from the 600m until passing the 100m. Rider Harry Coffey pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the careless riding being that he permitted his mount to shift in near the 100m when not sufficiently clear of Dance For Cash resulting in Dance For Cash having to be checked to avoid the heels of Special Edition. Harry Coffey had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at the conclusion of the day meeting on November 22nd and to expire at midnight November 28th, a total of eight provincial race meetings. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account Harry Coffeys guilty plea, the careless riding was in the low range, and that Dance For Cash was beginning to give ground. Rebuild - raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Dance For Cash - was tightened and inconvenience passing the 200m when Snip The Dancer shifted in. Checked approaching the 100m when Special Edition shifted in. Race 4 - ART SERIES HOTEL GROUP HANDICAP - 3000 metres: Wairoa (NZ) - pulled hard in the early and middle stages. Mr Satnav - near the 700m when attempting to improve its position shifted out and bumped with The Tinker on a number of occasions and was then awkwardly placed to the outside of the heels of Laconic Lad (NZ) before being steadied by its rider. The Mullet - compounded passing the 1000m and tailed the field; rider Jackie Beriman could offer no explanation and a post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have heart arrhythmia and will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. Laconic Lad (NZ) - rider Chris Symons reported the gelding was at the end of a very long preparation. Race 5 - JEEP 55 SECOND CHALLENGE HEAT 6 - 955 metres: Sweet Emily - slow to begin. After passing the 200m had to be steadied away from the heels of Peninsula Dane which shifted out. Miss Universe - inconvenienced and carried out by Pearly Whites at the start and lost ground. Costamony - slow to begin. Severely checked to avoid the heels of Peninsula Dane near the 800m. Bangatang - raced wide without cover. Peninsula Dane - had to be steadied away from heels of Duble Barrel Daisy which had been carried in marginally by Smooth Liqueur near the 800m. Marli Magic - had to be checked and shifted wide on the track near the 800m to avoid the heels of Costamony. Parousia - had to be steadied when inconvenienced near the 800m. Had to be severely checked near the 300m when tightened for room between Peninsula Dane (Rhys McLeod), which had shifted out, and Queen Extreme (Brad Rawiller) which shifted in when being steadied off the heels of Smooth Liqueur which was giving ground; Stewards were of the view that Peninsula Dane and Queen Extreme had contributed to this incident and conceded that Queen Extreme was in some difficulty on heels at this stage therefore they took no action other than to notify both Rhys McLeod and Brad Rawiller that they would be expected to exercise the utmost care when racing in similar circumstances in future to avoid causing interference. Rider Harry Coffey reported his mount was beaten for speed early tonight with the strong tempo. Race 7 - SLICKPIX HANDICAP - 1600 metres: Never Give An Inch - slow to begin. Had to check at the 400m to avoid the heels of Lady Tatia which was weakening and also as a result of being taken in slightly by Swinging Soldier which was hanging in. Rider Michael Walker reported his mount was not suited to tonights fast tempo and would be better suited over 2000m; a post race veterinary examination revealed a throat condition and a veterinary clearance is required prior to racing again. Swinging Soldier - hung in. Lady Tatia - rider Regan Bayliss reported his mount failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure at the 600m. Post race endoscopy revealed exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage that may have affected the mares racing performance and a veterinary clearance will be required prior to racing again. Race 8 - SPORTINGBET POWERED BY WILLIAM HILL HANDICAP - 2040 metres: Wyoming (NZ) - fourth placegetter; rider Brad Rawiller lodged an objection against Excellent Rhythm being declared the third placegetter alleging interference from the 350m until the winning post. It was established that upon straightening Excellent Rhythm shifted out and made contact with Wyoming (NZ) resulting in Wyoming (NZ) becoming unbalanced and in the opinion of the Stewards such interference was greater than the margin of a head and therefore the objection was upheld and the placings were amended as follows: Rodway - winner, Purple Smile - second placegetter, Wyoming (NZ) - third placegetter and Excellent Rhythm - fourth placegetter. At a later inquiry Daniel Stackhouse (Excellent Rhythm) was severely reprimanded for shifting ground when not sufficiently clear. Falamonte (NZ) - slow to begin.
