Dear friends of WARNEMUENDER WOCHE,
willkommen in einem der schönsten Segelreviere überhaupt, willkommen zur 75. WARNEMÜNDER WOCHE vom 7.
bis 15. Juli 2012!

2012!
Frei von Hindernissen bietet das Segelrevier vor der Warnemünder Küste beste Bedingungen für spannende nationale und internationale Regatten. 2.000 Seglerinnen und
Segler aus über 30 Nationen werden erwartet und natürlich hunderttausende Zuschauer. Im letzten Sommer lockten die Segelwettbewerbe über 700.000 Interessierte an.

Straight and free of obstacles, the sailing area off the coast of
Warnemuende offers the best conditions for exciting national
and international regattas. 2.000 sailors from more than 30
countries and several hundred of thousands of spectators are
expected. Last summer, more than 700.000 interested visitors
have been attracted by the sailing competitions.
Doch was wäre die WARNEMÜNDER WOCHE ohne „De Niegen Ümgang“, die Rostocker Beachhandball-Tage oder die Waschzuber- und
Drachenbootrennen? Kann man sich eine WARNEMÜNDER WOCHE
ohne Shantychor- und Trachtentreffen überhaupt vorstellen?
But what would the WARNEMUENDER WOCHE be without the „De Niegen
Uemgang“, the Rostocker beach handball days or the washtub and dragon boat races? Are you able to imagine the WARNEMUENDER WOCHE
without the shanty choir and the traditional costumes?
Das kann wohl niemand. Im Gegenteil. Ganz Warnemünde wird auch
in diesem Jahr wieder eine Woche lang erfüllt sein von maritimen Traditionen und Seemannsliedern. Und dem Bewusstsein, dass es gut
und richtig ist, Traditionen zu pflegen. Ganz Warnemünde macht sich
auf zu einem großen Fest, auf das sich wieder tausende Besucherinnen und Besucher aus nah und fern freuen.

And of the awareness that it is good and important to foster its traditions. Warnemuende prepares for the huge event and is looking forward
to welcoming thousands of visitors from near an far.
Ich danke allen Organisatoren für die Vorbereitung der 75. WARNEMÜNDER WOCHE. Ebenso den Seglern und Drachenbootfahrern, den
Trachtenvereinen und Shantychören und den vielen ehrenamtlichen
Helferinnen und Helfern, die 2012 dafür sorgen, dass die 75. WARNEMÜNDER WOCHE ein großer Erfolg wird.

traditional costume clubs and shanty choirs and the numerous volunteers
who will ensure in 2012 that 75th WARNEMUENDER WOCHE will become a

WARNEMUENDER WOCHE 2012!
Die Jubiläumsveranstaltung folgt der 75-jährigen Tradition der WARNEMÜNDER WOCHE: höchstes seglerisches
Niveau und Internationalität in familiärer Atmosphäre.
Die Ostsee vor Warnemünde ist im Juli bekannt für herrliche Segelbedingungen mit frischem Wind, einer langen
Welle und sonnigem Wetter. Warnemünde selbst wartet
auch in diesem Jahr mit viel Charme und individuellem
Flair auf und bietet den Rahmen für ein buntes Sport- und
Kulturprogramm.
The Jubilee follows the 75th years old tradition of WARNEMUENDER WOCHE: highest international sailing level and internationality in a familiar atmosphere. In July, the Baltic Sea in
front of Warnemuende is well known for pleasant sailing conditions with fresh wind, long waves and sunny weather. The
village Warnemuende ensures this year again lots of charm
and individual atmosphere and provides the framework for a
wide programme of sportive and cultural highlights.

Unsere erfahrene und motivierte Wettfahrtleitungsmannschaft hat
sich sorgfältig auf die Woche vorbereitet und wird faire und hochkarätige Wettfahrten durchführen. Warnemünde ist ein Stelldichein,
nicht nur wegen der beengten Situation im Bootspark, sondern auch
wegen der schönen Plätze auf der Partymeile. Schnell segeln am
Tag, gut essen und trinken am Abend und anschließend gemeinsam auf der Mittelmole oder am Strand eine große Party feiern –
das soll Ihr Motto in Warnemünde sein.
Our experienced and motivated Race Committee has carefully prepared
for the week and is willed to conduct fair and top-class races. Warnemuende is a “come together” not only because of the narrow situation
in the boat park but also due to the nice places at the party mile. Sail fast
during the day, enjoy good food and drinks in the evening and have a
great party together afterwards – that should be the motto in Warnemuende.
Wind, Wellen und Wetter sind von Gott gegeben, aber die Bedingungen für sichere, faire und gute Wettfahrten hängen von den Seglern und einer guten Organisation auf dem Wasser und an Land ab.

aus dem Nordosten Deutschlands. Diese große Familie wird ihr Bestes für all die Segler und Gäste geben. Gesellen Sie sich zu uns und

Wind, waves and weather are God-given, but the conditions for save, fair
and good races depend from the sailors and a good organization on- and
offshore.
The WARNEMUENDER WOCHE team is a family out of eight clubs from the
northeast of Germany. This one big family will do its best for all sailors

Natürlich haben wir von der Segler-Zeitung schon viel
über die WARNEMÜNDER WOCHE geschrieben, doch ein
Grußwort ist neu. Mit 75 Jahren ist die Warnemünder
Woche eben nicht zu alt, um uns noch zu überraschen.

dem Wort „Freundschaft“ vorsichtig bin, ist dieser Begriff in Verbindung zwischen Dieter Goldschmidt, Uwe Jahnke und Jörn Etzold
sowie meinem leider viel zu früh verstorbenen Kollegen Michael
Wulff und mir angebracht. Die Tatsache, dass dann Malte Arp, den
ich schon als jugendlichen Segler aus Kiel kenne, an die Spitze des
Warnemünder Segel-Clubs trat, sicherte das freundschaftliche Zusammenspiel nachhaltig. Allen Genannten möchte ich für das Vertrauen und die freundschaftliche Zusammenarbeit danken. Auch in
Zukunft werden wir in unserem Zeitplan die erste ganze Juli-Woche
für die WARNEMÜNDER WOCHE reservieren.
In 1991, when Segler-Zeitung grew from the Segler Zeitung of Schleswig-Holstein to a nationwide magazine and got on board MecklenburgWestern Pomerania, Berlin and Hamburg as the first regional
organizations, it has been self-evident to present in addition to Kieler
Woche and Travemuender Woche also WARNEMUENDER WOCHE. In working life I am cautious with the word „friendship“ but associated with
Dieter Goldschmidt, Uwe Jahnke and Jörn Etzold and further my colleague Michael Wulff, who died far too young, this term is appropriate. The
fact that Malte Arp – I have known him already as a young sailor from
Kiel – became the Chairman of the Warnemuender Segel-Club ensured
the friendly collaboration sustainably. I would like to thank all mentioned people for the trust and the friendly cooperation. In future, we will
continue to block the whole first week of July in our agenda for WARNEMUENDER WOCHE.

damit auch für die Veranstalter der WARNEMÜNDER WOCHE ab. Das
ist die wirklich wichtigste Zahl für eine Veranstaltung. Die Begeisterung der Aktiven ist der Lohn für die ehrenamtliche Arbeit der
Veranstalter. Auch wenn der Warnemünder Segel-Club Hauptveranstalter ist, längst sind viele Mitveranstalter wie Berliner Yacht-Club,
Hamburger Segel-Club, Kuttersegelclub Warnemünde, Joersfelder
Segel-Club, Schweriner Segler-Verein, Segler-Verein Stössensee,
Wassersport-Verein-Güstrow und Yachtclub Berlin-Grünau dazu gekommen. Und das neu formierte Team um Regatta-Organisationsleiter Mathias Thom arbeitet daran, die Lasten auf mehrere
Schultern zu verteilen.
About 2.000 sailors from 30 nations vote every year with their feet for
the territory in the Mecklenburgian Bay and thereby also for the Organizing Authority of WARNEMUENDER WOCHE. This really is the most important figure of an event. The participants’ enthusiasm is the reward for the
Organizing Authority’s voluntary work. Even though the Warnemuender
Segel-Club is the main organizer, WARNEMUENDER WOCHE today has a
lot of coorganizers such as the Berliner Yacht-Club, Hamburger SegelClub, Kuttersegelclub Warnemünde, Joersfelder Segel-Club, Schweriner
Segler-Verein, Segler-Verein Stössensee, Wassersport-Verein-Güstrow and
the Yachtclub Berlin-Grünau. Distribution of the load on many shoulders
– that is also the motto of the newly formed team around the chairman
of the Organizing Committee Mathias Thom.
Die Segler-Zeitung wünscht dabei viel Erfolg, und vor allem ein gelungenes Jubiläum zum 75. Geburtstag der jung gebliebenen WARNEMÜNDER WOCHE.

General information for competitors
Die Anreise der Klassen für den zweiten Teil der WARNEMÜNDER
WOCHE kann nicht vor Mittwoch, 11. Juli 2012, erfolgen.
Please note: All sailors participating in the second part of the WARNEMUENDER WOCHE are advised not to arrive before Wednesday 11 July 2012.
Alle Regattateilnehmer werden gebeten, die besonderen Verkehrsregelungen im und um das Regattagelände auf der Mittelmole,
der Hohen Düne und am Strand zu beachten. Sie sind notwendig,
a) um die große Zahl von Booten, die zur WARNEMÜNDER WOCHE
kommen, aufzunehmen,
b) um die Verkehrswege für Polizei, Rettungswagen und Feuerwehr
freizuhalten.
All competitors are requested to comply with the special traffic regulations within and around the Marinas Mittelmole and Hohe Duene and Warnemuende beach. Compliance is necessary
a) in order to host the large number of boats coming to the WARNEMUENDER WOCHE,
b) to keep clear the approaches for ambulances, fire trucks and police
cars.

Regeln auf dem Veranstaltungsgelände
• Das Grillen bzw. Anzünden von Lagerfeuern und anderen offenen
Feuerstellen ist strengstens verboten.
• Das Baden und Angeln ist in allen Hafenanlagen strengstens verboten.
• Das Arbeiten an den Booten inklusive Mast stellen, Mast legen
und Auftakeln ist auf den zugewiesenen Parkflächen sowie auf
dem Camping-, Wohnmobil- und Trailerplatz ausdrücklich untersagt.
• Bei Nichtbeachtung der Vorschriften können polizeiliche Maßnahmen nicht vermieden werden.
• Beachten Sie bitte das Merkblatt, das Sie bei der Anreise am Eingang zu den Yachthäfen oder im Regattabüro erhalten haben.
General traffic rules in the harbour area
• Barbecue and bonfire are strictly forbidden in the harbour area.
• Swimming and fishing are strictly forbidden in all harbours.
• Any duties on the boats including setting the mast or any procedures
of rigging are strictly forbidden on all parking grounds and on all
camping sites or parking facilities designed for trucks and trailers.
• Non-compliance may call for enforcement by the police.
• Please note the detailed instructions handed out at arrival or during registration at Race Office.

Trainer- und Begleitboote
Im Sinne der Sicherheit und eines reibungslosen Ablaufs der gesamten Regatta sind folgende Grundsätze einzuhalten:
Coach and support boats
In the interest of safety and a smooth operation of the event, please follow the following principles:
• Vor der Nutzung müssen sich alle Trainer- und Begleitboote registrieren lassen, die geltenden gesetzlichen Bestimmungen und
Auflagen sowie die Coachbootregeln der Veranstaltung erfüllen.
Der Veranstalter kann Registrierungen zurückweisen und spätere
Registrierungen nach eigener Einschätzung zulassen.
• Es sind pro Boot 25,00 € Hafengebühr zu entrichten (Nachmeldegebühr ab dem 30. Juni 2012: 35,00 €)
• Before using, all support boats shall be registered by the Organizing
Authority and will be required to comply with local legislation and
event support boat regulations. The Organizing Authority may refuse
registrations and accept later registrations at their sole discretion.
• Jedem registrierten Motorboot wird eine eindeutige Nummer zugeteilt. Diese muss sichtbar angebracht werden.
• Die Motorboote dürfen ausschließlich auf den ihnen zugewiesenen Liegeplätzen liegen.
• Die Veranstalter weisen darauf hin, dass Führer von Schlauchoder sonstigen Motorbooten den Sportbootführerschein See –
bei Ausländern den entsprechenden Führerschein ihres Heimatstaates – mitführen müssen.
• Die gesetzliche Höchstgeschwindigkeit auf der Warnow beginnend zwischen den Molenköpfen beträgt 6 kn. In den Häfen und
im Alten Strom gilt eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 3 kn.
• Trainer- und Begleitboote haben den Anweisungen des Hafenmeisters, der Wettfahrtleitung, bzw. Jury zu folgen.
• In Notsituationen ist jedes Trainer- und Begleitboot zur Hilfeleistung verpflichtet.
• A unique registration number will be assigned to each support boat
which has to be presented clearly visible.
• Support boats are to be moored only in the allocated berths in the
marinas.
• The Organizing Authority informs that all helmsmen of dinghies or other
motorboats have to hold the appropriate German license - e.g. international certicificate for pleasure boats off shore - foreign participants
shall hold the adequate license of their home country.
• The maximum speed on the river Warnow (beginning between the
tow pier heads) is limited to 6 kns. Within the harbours and on the
river Alter Strom the maximum speed is restricted to 3 kns.
• All drivers of support boats have to follow any instructions given by
the Harbourmaster, the Race Committee or the Jury.
• In case emergency all coach and support boats are required to help
out.

Krangebühr von 25,00 € zu entrichten.

of € 25.00 per single launching / hauling.
Liegeplätze
• Die Liegeplätze befinden sich im Yachthafen Mittelmole, Alter
Strom, Warnemünde Strand und im Yachthafen Hohe Düne
(siehe Seite 12/13 dieser Segelanweisung).
• Liegeplätze werden vom Hafenmeister der WARNEMÜNDER
WOCHE zugewiesen. Die gekennzeichnete Zuordnung der Stege
und Flächen ist verbindlich. Den Anweisungen des Hafenpersonals ist Folge zu leisten.
• Liegeplatzgebühren werden für die Teilnehmer in der Zeit vom
7. bis 15. Juli 2012 nicht erhoben.
Moorings
• Moorings are located at Marina Mittelmole, Alter Strom, Warnemuende beach or at Marina Hohe Duene (see page 12/13 of this Sailing
Instruction).
• All moorings will be allocated by the harbour master of WARNEMUENDER WOCHE. Participants are requested only to use the marked pontoon bridges and areas. Instructions of harbour staff are to be
followed.
• Moorings and areas for boats are free of charge for participants within
the period from 7 to 15 July 2012.

Shuttle-Service
Den Teilnehmern der Klassen 2.4mR, D-One, Finn, Skippi 650, Soling
und Streamline (Basis Yachthafen Hohe Düne) wird an den Regattatagen jeweils eine Hin- und Rückfahrt mit der Auto- und Personenfähre der Weißen Flotte kostenfrei vom Veranstalter zur
Verfügung gestellt. Bitte Teilnehmerausweis bereithalten.
Shuttle-Service
For participants of the classes 2.4mR, D-One, Finn, Skippi 650, Soling and
Streamline a shuttle service with „Weiße Flotte“ is available. On racing
days one round-trip ticket per participant is provided free of charge by
the Organizing Authority. Please show your registration pass.
Parken
Parkplätze auf dem Firmengelände der Warnow Werft (P5*) sind
für die Teilnehmer kostenlos (unbewacht). Bei Bedarf verkehrt ein
Fahrdienst ab Basis Mittelmole bzw. Basis Warnemünde Strand.
Parkplätze in den Bereichen Marina Mittelmole (P1*) und Marina
Hohe Düne sind auf den ausgewiesenen öffentlichen Flächen vorhanden und kostenpflichtig.
Der Veranstalter weist darauf hin, dass auf den öffentlichen Parkplatzflächen (Betonfläche) nicht abgeladen werden soll. Das Abstellen von Fahrzeugen und Trailern im Hafengelände ist nicht
gestattet. Widerrechtlich abgestellte Fahrzeuge werden kostenpflichtig abgeschleppt.

Camping
Der Campingplatz für die Teilnehmer mit Basis Yachthafen Mittelmole, Basis Hohe Düne und Basis Warnemünde Strand (Höhe
Leuchtturm) befindet sich auf dem Gelände der WIRO GmbH / ehemals Scandlines AG direkt neben dem Yachthafen Warnemünde.
Als Campingplätze gelten die eingezäunten Bereiche. Innerhalb dieser Grenzen kann die Anmeldung und das Abladen erfolgen.
Der Stellplatz für die Teilnehmer der Klasse 2.4mR mit Basis Yachthafen Hohe Düne befindet sich auf dem Gelände der Yachthafenresidenz Hohe Düne GmbH (keine Zelte!).
Auf die die Beschilderung und die Einweisung durch das Hafenpersonal ist zu achten. Campingplatzkarten können direkt beim Parkplatzwächter erworben werden.

Regeln
Die Regatten unterliegen den Regeln, wie sie in den Wettfahrtregeln – Segeln (WR) definiert sind.
Bei Sprachkonflikten ist im Zweifelsfall der englische Text
maßgebend. Bei den Ordnungsvorschriften des DSV ist der
Deutsche Text maßgebend.
Die Limitierung der 420-Klassenregel, nur einen Satz Segel
zu benutzen, ist außer Kraft gesetzt.
Boote, die nicht in einer Wettfahrt sind, dürfen nicht durch
andere Kurse segeln, auf denen Boote segeln und Bahnmarken ausgelegt sind.

Bekanntmachungen an die Teilnehmer
Bekanntmachungen an die Teilnehmer werden an der offiziellen Tafel ausgehängt. Diese befinden sich in der Nähe
des Regattabüros Mittelmole. Für Bootsklassen, die in der
Hohen Düne liegen gibt es Kopien der Aushänge im Hafen
Hohe Düne. Für Bootsklassen, die am Strand liegen befinden sich Kopien im Zelt. Zusätzlich werden Kopien der Bekanntmachungen auf der Webseite der WARNEMÜNDER
WOCHE veröffentlicht.
2.
Notice to competitors
Notices to competitors will be posted on the official notice board
located near the race office Mittelmole. For classes with mooring in Hohe Duene copies can be found in marina Hohe Duene.
Copies for classes with base on the beach can be found in the
tent on the beach. Additional copies of notices will be published on the website of WARNEMUENDER WOCHE.

Änderungen der Segelanweisungen
Jede Änderung der Segelanweisungen einschließlich der
Bahn-Zuordnung wird vor 9.00 Uhr des Tages, an dem sie
in Kraft tritt, ausgehängt. Änderungen im Zeitplan der
Wettfahrten werden jedoch bis 20.00 Uhr des Tages, bevor
sie in Kraft treten, ausgehängt.
3.
3.1.
Changes to Sailing Instruction
Any change to the sailing instruction including the dedicated
course area will be posted before 9.00 h on the day it will take
effect, except that any change to the schedule of races will be
posted by 20.00 h on the day before it will take effect.
4.
4.1.
Signale an Land
Signale an Land werden an Flaggenmasten im Hafen Mittelmole gesetzt. Signale für Klassen, die in Hohe Düne liegen werden auch am Flaggenmast Hohe Düne gesetzt,
Signale die für Bootsklassen, die am Strand liegen werden beim Zelt am Strand wiederholt.
Wenn die Flagge AP an Land gesetzt wird, ist ‘1 Minute’
durch ‘nicht weniger als 60 Minuten’ in dem Wettfahrtsignal AP zu ersetzen.
Wird Flagge Y an Land gesetzt, gilt Regel 40 unbeschränkt
auf dem Wasser. Das ändert das Vorwort zum Teil 4.
Werden die Signalflaggen AP über H an Land gezeigt, so bedeutet dies „Boote dürfen nicht den Hafen verlassen, Warten
Sie auf weitere Instruktionen.“ Dieses ändert die Signale AP
über H.
4.
4.1.
Signals made ashore
Signals made ashore will be displayed at the flag pole in marina
Mittelmole. Signals for classes in Hohe Duene will be also displayed on flage pole Hohe Duene. Signals for classes located at the
beach will be displayed at the tent on the beach.
4.2.
When flag AP is displayed ashore, ‘1 minute’ is replaced with
‘not less than 60 minutes’ in the race signal AP.
4.3.
When flag Y is displayed ashore, rule 40 applies at all times
while afloat. This changes the Part 4 preamble.
Flag AP over H displayed ashore means ‘Boats shall not leave
the harbour. Wait for further instructions.’ This changes race signal AP over H.
Zeitplan der Wettfahrten
Pro Tag kann ohne vorherige Anzeige an Land eine zusätzliche Wettfahrt gesegelt werden, sofern keine Klasse dadurch mehr als eine Wettfahrt vor dem Zeitplan ist.
Auf allen Bahnen ist die geplante Zeit für das Ankündigungssignal der ersten Wettfahrt jedes Tages 11.00 Uhr.
Am letzten Tag der Regatta wird kein Ankündigungssignal
nach 14.00 Uhr (470er: 15.00 Uhr) gegeben.

Rules
The regattas will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).
If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take
precedence. In the prescriptions of the DSV, the German version
shall prevail.
The 420-class rules limitation to use only one set of sails is suspended.
Boats not racing shall not sail on other course areas where
marks are placed and boats are sailing.
Schedule of races
One extra race per day may be sailed without additional announcement ashore, provided that no class becomes more than
one race ahead of schedule.
On each racing area the scheduled time of the warning signal for
the first race each day is 11.00 h.
On the last day of the regatta no warning signal will be made
after 14.00 h (470er: 15.00 h).

8.1.
Kurse
Die Diagramme in Anhang 1 zeigen die Kurse mit den angenäherten Winkeln zwischen den Bahnschenkeln, die Reihenfolge wie die Bahnmarken zu passieren sind und an
welcher Seite sie zu lassen sind.
Spätestens zum Ankündigungssignal wird die Wettfahrtleitung auf dem Startschiff den ungefähren Kompasskurs des
ersten Bahnschenkels anzeigen.
Das Startschiff wird folgende Signale zeigen, um den zu segelnden Kurs anzuzeigen:
(a) Schwarze Tafel mit weißen Zahlen: der zu segelnde Kurs.
(b) Weiße Tafel mit schwarzen Zahlen: Der ungefähre Kompasskurs zur Bahnmarke 1.
(c) Gelbe Tafel mit schwarzem Buchstaben "L": Langer Kurs.
(d) Falls Trapezkurse gesegelt werden:
• Gelbe Tafel mit schwarzem Buchstaben "O": Outer Loop
• Gelbe Tafel mit schwarzem Buchstaben "I": Inner Loop
Ist im Diagramm ein Tor gezeichnet, kann das Tor auch durch
eine einzige Bahnmarke ersetzt werden, die backbord zu
lassen ist.

8.1.
Courses
The diagrams in Attachment 1 show the courses, including the
approximate angles between legs, the order in which marks are
to be passed, and the side on which each mark is to be left.
8.2.
No later than the warning signal, the race committee starting
vessel will display the approximate compass bearing of the first
leg.
The starting vessel will show the following signals to designate
the course:
(a) Black board with white numbers: the course to be sailed.
(b) White board with black numbers: the approx. compass bearing to mark "1".
(c) Yellow board with black letter "L": Long course
(d) If trapezoid courses will be sailed:
• Yellow board with black letter "O": outer loop
• Yellow board with black letter "I": inner loop
If the diagram shows a gate, the gate may be replaced by a single mark to be left to port.

Der Start
Die Startlinie ist zwischen einer Stange mit einer orangen
Flagge auf dem Startschiff auf der Steuerbordseite und entweder einer Startbahnmarke mit einer orangen Flagge oder
einer Stange mit einer orangen Flagge auf einem Boot der
Wettfahrtleitung auf der Backbordseite der Linie.
Nach dem Ankündigungssignal einer Klasse müssen alle anderen Boote einen Abstand von mindestens 100 m zur
Startlinie einhalten.
Ein Boot, das später als 4 min. nach seinem Startsignal startet, wird DNS gewertet. Dies ändert WR A.4.1.
10.
10.1.
The start
The starting line will be between a staff displaying an orange
flag on the Race Committee boat at the starboard end and either
a starting mark with an orange flag or a staff displaying an
orange flag on a Race Committee boat at the port end of the line.
10.2.
After the warning signal of a class all other boats shall stay in
distance of at least 100 m to the starting line.
10.3.
A boat starting later than 4 minutes after the starting signal will
be scored DNS. This changes RRS A4.1.
Änderung des nächsten Bahnschenkels
Zur Änderung des nächsten Bahnschenkels eines Kurses
wird die Wettfahrtleitung eine neue Bahnmarke derselben
Farbe und Form auslegen (oder die Ziellinie verlegen) und
die ursprüngliche Bahnmarke sobald als möglich entfernen.
Bei einer Änderung der Lage der Luv-Bahnmarke auf Kursen
mit Offsetmarken wird keine (neue) Offsetmarke gelegt.
11.
11.1.
Change of the next leg of the course
To change the next leg of the course, the Race Committee will lay
a new mark of the same colour and shape (or move the finish
line) and remove the original mark as soon as practicable.
If there is a change of the position of the windward mark on
courses with offset marks there will be no (new) offset mark.
Ziel
Die Ziellinie ist zwischen einer Stange mit einer orangen
Flagge auf dem Zielschiff auf der Steuerbordseite und entweder einer Zielbegrenzungsboje mit einer orangen Flagge
oder einer Stange mit einer orangen Flagge auf einem Boot
der Wettfahrtleitung auf der Backbordseite der Linie.
Wird auf dem Zielschiff die Flagge „L“ gezeigt, bedeutet dies:
„Eine weitere Wettfahrt wird sobald als möglich gestartet.“
(Dies ändert WR „Wettfahrtsignale“).

Ein-Drehung-Strafe ersetzt ist.
Finish
The finishing line will be between a staff with an orange flag
on the Race Committee boat at the starboard end and either a
finishing mark with an orange flag or a staff displaying an
orange flag on a Race Committee boat at the port end of the
line.
Flag „L“ displayed on the finishing vessel means: “A further race
will be started as soon as possible.“ (Change RRS: “Race Signals”).
Penalty system
Appendix P will apply as changed by 13.2.
For J/24, H-Boat, Skippi 650, Streamline, A-Cat, Hobie Cat 14
and Hobie Cat 16 RRS 44.1 and P2.1 is changed so that the TwoTurns Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty.

Um Boote zu bestärken eine Strafe auf dem Wasser anzunehmen, können Mitglieder der Jury ein Pfeifsignal geben,
wenn sie glauben, einen Regelverstoß gesehen zu haben.

To encourage boats to take penalties afloat, jury members may
blow a whistle when they believe to have seen any break of a
RRS.

14.1
Sollzeit und Zeitlimits
Die Sollzeit beträgt für Segelsurfer 30 min., für 470er-Kurzregattan 20 min., für alle anderen Klassen 60 min. Das
nicht Einhalten der Sollzeitist kein Grund für einen Antrag
auf Wiedergutmachung. Das ändert WR 62.1(a).
Wenn kein Boot die Bahnmarke 1 innerhalb 30 min. (Segelsurfer 20 min., 470er-Kurzregatten 10 min.) passiert hat,
wird die Wettfahrt abgebrochen.
Wenn kein Boot die Ziellinie innerhalb 90 min. (Segelsurfer 50 min., 470er-Kurzregatten 35 min.) erreicht hat,
wird die Wettfahrt abgebrochen.
Boote, die nicht innerhalb von 30 min. (470er-Kurzregatten 10 min.) nachdem das erste Boot ihrer Klasse die Bahn
abgesegelt hat durchs Ziel gegangen sind, werden ohne Verhandlung DNF gewertet. Das ändert die WR 35, A4 und A5.
14.
14.1.
Target time and time limits
Target time for windsurfers is 30 min., for 470er short races 20
min., for all other classes 60 min. Failure to meet the target time
will not be grounds for redress. This changes rule 62.1(a).
14.2
If no boat has passed mark 1 within 30 min. (windsurfers 20
min., 470er short races 10 min.) the race will be abandoned.
14.3.
If no boat has reached the finishing line within 90 min. (windsurfers 50 min., 470er short races 35 min.) the race will be abandoned.
Boats failing to finish within 30 min. (470er short races 10
min.) after the first boat of their class sails the course and finishes will be scored DNF without a hearing. This changes RRS
35, A4 and A5.
Proteste
Protestformulare sind im Wettfahrtbüro erhältlich. Proteste
und Anträge auf Wiedergutmachung oder Wiederaufnahme
müssen dort innerhalb der entsprechenden Frist eingereicht
werden.
Die Protestzeit beträgt 75 Minuten nach Zieldurchgang des
letzten Bootes der Klasse in der letzten Tageswettfahrt, bzw.
nach deren Abbruch oder Ende der Startverschiebung.
Benachrichtigungen über Proteste der Wettfahrtleitung oder
der Jury werden innerhalb der Protestfrist ausgehängt, um
die Boote gemäß WR 61.1(b) zu informieren.
Proteste werden, wenn möglich, in der Reihenfolge des Ein
gangs verhandelt. Beginn und Reihenfolge der Verhandlungen werden an der offiziellen Tafel spätestens 30 Minuten nach Ende der Protestfrist ausgehängt.
Protestparteien und Zeugen haben sich unverzüglich zur angegebenen Zeit vor dem Verhandlungsraum bereitzuhalten.
Verstöße gegen die SA 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 sind kein Grund für
einen Protest eines Bootes. Dies ändert WR 60.1(a). Strafen
für Verstöße gegen diese Anweisungen können geringer
als eine Disqualifikation sein, wenn das Schiedsgericht, bzw.
die Jury so entscheidet.

Protest forms are available at the Race Office. Protests and requests for redress or reopening shall be delivered within the
appropriate time limit.
15.2.
For each class the protest time limit is 75 minutes after the last
boat has finished the last race of the day or after abandoning or
postponing this race to the next day.
Notices of protests by the Race Committee or the Jury will be
posted before the protest time limit to inform boats under RRS
61.1(b).
Hearings will be opened if possible in the order of protest receipt.
Time and order of hearings will be posted on the notice board
not later than 30 minutes after the end of the protest time limit.

The parties involved and witnesses are required to be available
for the hearing promptly at the advertise time and place.
Breaches of SI 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 will not be subject for a protest by a boat. This changes RRS 60.1(a). Penalties for these
breaches may be less than disqualification if the protest committee or jury so decides.

Antrag auf Wiederaufnahme abgegeben werden
(a) innerhalb der Protestfrist, wenn die antragstellende Partei am Vortag von der Entscheidung informiert wurde,
(b) bei Mitteilung der Entscheidung am letzten Tag innerhalb von 30 Minuten nach dieser Mitteilung.
15.9. Proteste (auch Vermessungsproteste) oder Einwendungen
über Tatsachen, deren Feststellung bereits an den vorhergehenden Tagen zumutbar gewesen wäre, werden am Tag
der letzten Wettfahrt nicht mehr angenommen.
15.10. Das Schiedsgericht ist gemäß WR 91(a) ein Ausschuss oder
eine Internationale Jury. Entscheidungen der Internationalen

17.
Ausrüstungs- und Vermessungskontrollen
Ein Boot oder die Ausrüstung können jederzeit in Bezug auf
die Einhaltung der Klassenvorschriften und der Segelanweisungen überprüft werden. Auf dem Wasser kann ein
Boot durch einen Ausrüstungskontrolleur oder Vermesser
der Wettfahrtleitung aufgefordert werden, sich sofort für
eine Überprüfung zu einer bestimmten Stelle zu begeben.

Equipment and measurement checks
A boat or equipment may be inspected at any time for compliance with the class rules and sailing instructions. On the water,
a boat can be instructed by a race committee equipment inspector or measurer to proceed immediately to a designated
area for inspection.

A boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor
receive communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones, WLAN, etc.

Any competitor receiving a perpetual trophy undertakes to keep
it in his or her safe custody and to return it on request to the or

Regeln

Bei Sprachkonflikten ist im Zweifelsfall der englische Text
maßgebend. Bei den Ordnungsvorschriften des DSV ist der
Deutsche Text maßgebend.

Rules
The regattas will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing.
If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take
precedence. In the prescriptions of the DSV, the German version
shall prevail.

Bekanntmachungen an die Teilnehmer
Bekanntmachungen an die Teilnehmer werden an den offiziellen Tafeln ausgehängt. Diese befinden sich neben dem
Regattabüro Mittelmole. Eine Kopie wird auf der offiziellen
Internetseite der WARNEMÜNDER WOCHE veröffentlicht.

Notice to competitors
Notices to competitors will be posted on the official notice boards located beside the Race Office Mittelmole. A copy will be
published on the official website of WARNEMUENDER WOCHE.

Änderungen der Segelanweisungen
Jede Änderung der Segelanweisungen wird spätestens bis
19.00 Uhr des Vortages der Regatta ausgehängt, bei hanseboot Rund Bornholm spätestens zum Zeitpunkt der Steuermannsbesprechung. Änderungen in der Ansetzung der
Wettfahrten werden jedoch bis 20.00 Uhr des Tages, bevor
sie in Kraft treten, aus gehängt.

Any change to the sailing instructions will be posted latest 19.00
hrs on the day before the race, for hanseboot Rund Bornholm latest at the time of the skippers meeting., except that any change
to the schedule of races will be posted by 20.00 h on the day
before it will take effect.

der Wettfahrt befindlichen Seekreuzer müssen den Zahlenwimpel ihrer Gruppe am Achterstag führen.

Class flags
The numeral pendant of the International Signal Code will be
used as class flag for the sea cruisers groups. The groups will be
published at the registration. All cruisers shall display the numeral pendant of their group on the backstay during the race.

Anhang 2 zeigt die Lage der Wettfahrtgebiete.
Für die Wettfahrt Warnemünde-Cup wird eine Kopie der
Kurse und Bahnmarken für jedes Boot bei der Steuermannsbesprechung bereitgehalten und eine am offiziellen Brett
für Bekanntmachungen ausgehängt. Der Start erfolgt im
Wettfahrtgebiet BRAVO.
Für die Wettfahrt 2 Up & Down wird im Wettfahrtgebiet
CHARLY (siehe Anhang 2) Kurs 1 oder 4 von Anhang 1 gesegelt.

Zusätzlich gilt:
Der südliche Tonnenstrich des Verkehrstrennungsgebietes
„Kadettrinne“ darf nicht durchsegelt werden. Zweistündlich
ist die jeweilige Position in ein Logbuch einzutragen. Außerdem sind folgende Zeitpunkte festzuhalten: Passieren Leuchtturm Dueodde in rechtweisender Peilung 360° und Leucht
turm Hammerodde in rechtweisender Peilung 180°. Das
ausgefüllte Formblatt für die Logbucheintragungen ist vom
Schiffsführer unterschrieben bis spätestens eine Stunde
nach Zieldurchgang bei der Wettfahrtleitung abzugeben.
Etwa drei Seemeilen vor dem Ziel muss über den UKW-Arbeitskanal (69) bei der Wettfahrtleitung eingecheckt werden.
Während der Dunkelheit muss beim Zieldurchgang die Segelnummer im Großsegel angestrahlt werden.
Kurs für die Wettfahrt Mecklenburgische Bäderregatta ist:
Für die Wettfahrt Mecklenburgische Bäderregatta wird eine
Kopie der Kurse und Bahnmarken für jedes Boot bei der
Steuermannsbesprechung bereitgehalten und zusätzlich am
offiziellen Brett für Bekanntmachungen ausgehängt.

Additional applies:
The southern line of traffic separation “Kadettrinne” shall not be
crossed. The position is to be noted in the logbook every two
hours. Additionally following times are to be logged: Passing
lighthouse Dueodde with bearing 360° true, passing lighthouse
Hammerodde with bearing 180° true. The form for recording the
positions of the logbook shall be signed by the person in charge
and delivered to the race committee latest one hour after
finishing. Boats shall call the race committee 3 miles off the
finishing line by VHF working channel (69) for checking in. Main
sail shall be illuminated if the finish line is crossed during the
darkness.

the Mittelmole and the green buoy with the number 19 of Warnemuende water way. It is to be passed from south to north.

Boats whose warning signal has not been made shall avoid the
starting area.
Boats failing to start within 10 minutes after their starting signal
will be scored DNS without a hearing (This changes rule A4.1).

die Regeln 35, A4 und A5.
Time Limits
For race hanseboot Rund Bornholm applies: Boats failing to
finish within 12 July 2012, 13.00 h will be scored DNF without
a hearing. This changes RRS 35, A4 and A5.

Proteste
Protestformulare sind im Wettfahrtbüro erhältlich. Proteste
und Anträge auf Wiedergutmachung oder Wiederaufnahme
müssen dort innerhalb der entsprechenden Frist eingereicht
werden.
Die Protestfrist beginnt mit dem Zieldurchgang des protestierenden Bootes und dauert 90 Minuten.
Benachrichtigungen über Proteste der Wettfahrtleitung oder
der Jury werden innerhalb der Protestfrist ausgehängt um
die Boote gemäß WR 61.1(b) zu informieren.
Proteste werden, wenn möglich, in der Reihenfolge des Eingangs verhandelt. Beginn und Reihenfolge der Verhandlungen werden so bald wie möglich ausgehängt.

Zur Startkontrolle müssen sich alle Boote vor ihrem Ankündigungssignal mit gesetztem Großsegel in der Nähe des
Kopfes der Mittelmole aufhalten, bzw. bei der Wettfahrt
Warnemünde–Cup und 2 Up & Down das Startschiff passieren.
Boote, die in der Wettfahrt aufgeben, müssen dies sofort
der Wettfahrtleitung oder dem Regattabüro melden. Die
Telefonnummer des Regattabüros wird an der offiziellen
Tafel ausgehängt.
Die Wettfahrt hanseboot Rund Bornholm wird nach Sicherheitskategorie 2 durchgeführt (Ausnahmen sind nach Klassenvorschriften und Konstruktionsbedingungen nur mit einer

RULES
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing.
No national authority prescriptions will apply.
The Laser class rule 7(a) is restricted as follows:
Only one person shall be onboard whilst racing. The person shall be named on the entry form.
Sails shall have the full sail number AND NATIONAL LETTERS in accordance with the Class Rules and RRS. The national letters shall denote
the National Authority of which the sailor is a member in accordance with RRS 75.2. This changes RRS Appendix G 1.1.
If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.
The Race Committee may abandon the race under rule 32.1c because of a major wind shift or irregular winds or when the wind speed drops
below 5 knots (2.5 m/s). Action or no action by the Race Committee under this instruction will not be grounds for redress. This changes
rule 62.1(a).

Notices to competitors will be posted on the official notice board located near the Race Office Mittelmole.

When flag AP is displayed ashore, races are postponed. Boats are not required to go afloat. The first warning signal will be made not less

Flag AP over H with two sound signals (one when lowered) means „No boat shall go afloat until this signal is lowered“. The first warning
signal will be made not less than 1 hour after AP over H is lowered.

BOATS AND EQUIPMENT
All competitors shall use only one hull, sail, mast, boom, centreboard and rudder.
In the event of damage, boats and equipment may only be substituted with the written permission of the regatta measurer, jury or Race
Committee. If the damage occurs later than 90 minutes before the first scheduled start on a racing day and before the start of the last race
of the day, provisional verbal permission shall be obtained from the regatta measurer, jury or race committee and the written permission
of the regatta measurer, jury or Race Committee shall be applied for before the end of Protest Time at the end of the day in which the substitution takes place.
Women competitors shall place a red diamond on each side of their sail (back to back) in compliance with class rule 4(g). The diamond shall
be 240mm high and 180mm wide +/- 5mm and shall be located in the centre of the sail immediately above the top batten. Please see

FORMAT OF RACING
The Laser Standard, Laser Radial and Laser 4.7 fleets will have separate starts. For the fleets, the regatta may consist of a single series or
may be split.
Laser Standard will race on area “B” (BRAVO, colour pink)
Laser Radial will race on area “F” (FOXTROTT, colour light blue)
Laser 4.7 will race on area “B” (BRAVO, colour pink)
Each fleet (Laser Standard, Laser Radial and Laser 4.7) will be split on the discretion of the Organising Authority if clearly more than 70 entries are expected. The decision to split or not to split the fleet will be posted on the official notice board until 12 July 2012, 9.00 h.
Whether a fleet is split or not shall be specified in 28.1.
SCHEDULE OF RACES
Therewill be two races a day.
The scheduled time for the first warning signal for the first race of the first day is 14.00 h. For the subsequent days the scheduled time of
warning signal for the first race is 11.00 h.
The warning signal for the start of the second and subsequent race(s) each day will be made as soon as practicable after the finish of the
last boat of the fleet in the previous race for that fleet group.
On the last day of the regatta no warning signal for any fleet will be made after 14.00 h.

Starting Sequence:
The starting sequence will be signalled with warning signals (if a fleet is split into groups, the class flag for each group will be the class
flag with a coloured flag corresponding to the group colour) on the Race Committee starting vessel.

RACING AREAS
The approximate course areas are BRAVO for Laser Standard and Laser 4.7 and FOXTROTT for Laser Radial (see Appendix 2).
Before the starting signal, the racing area is the area within 100 metres of the starting line. After the starting signal, the racing area is the
area within an imaginary line drawn 100 metres outside any point where a boat might sail during normal racing and includes the area
bounded by marks 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 at all times when any boat of any fleet is still racing.

THE COURSES
The Appendix 1, course 7 to these Sailing Instruction shows the course, including the approximate angles between legs, the order in which
marks are to be passed, and the side on which each mark is to be left.
Courses may be different between the Laser rig classes as described in the Sailing Instruction Appendix.
Before the warning signal for each fleet, the Race Committee will display course signals on a board on the Race Committee boat as follows:
- Outer loop (yellow board with black letter „O“)
- Inner loop (yellow board with black letter „I“)
No later than the warning signal, the Race Committee signal boat will display the approximate compass bearing of the first leg.
The course may be shortened to finish at any mark provided that three or more legs will have been sailed. In the count of legs, the leg 1
to 1A cannot be counted.
When one gate mark is missing, the remaining mark shall be rounded to port until the mark is replaced with a boat displaying IC Flag „M“, or a new mark.
The gates at marks 3 and 4 and the mark 5 may be laid after the start.

12.2.3. STARTING UNDER IC „U“, UNIFORM, PREPARATORY FLAG
When is displayed as a preparatory signal „U“, the following rule will apply to all starts (this changes RRS 29): If any part of a boat’s hull,
crew or equipment is identified within the triangle formed by the ends of the starting line and Mark 1 during the minute before her starting signal, she will be disqualified from that start without a hearing (OCS). (ISAF Decision Puerto Rico 2011).
12.2.4. STARTING UNDER BLACK FLAG RULE PENALTY
Rule 30.3 is altered adding the follows:
Sail numbers will be displayed for at least 3 minutes. A long sound signal will be made when the numbers are initially displayed. A boat
whose number is so displayed shall leave the racing area, defined in Sailing Instruction 9.2., before the new preparatory signal. If she fails
to do so, and is identified by the Race Committee or the International Jury she shall be scored DNE without hearing.

CHANGE OF THE NEXT LEG OF THE COURSE
To change the next leg of the course, the Race Committee will move the original mark (or the finishing line) to a new position.
When it is not possible to change the position of the original marks, the course may be reset using one or more new marks. When new
marks are already in use, the course may be reset using original marks.
A change of course after the start will be signalled before the leading boat has begun the leg.
THE FINISH
The finishing line will be between a staff displaying a blue flag on a Race Committee boat and the port-end finishing mark. This instruction does not apply when rule 32.2. does.
If the Race Committee signals a shortened course at mark 3 or 4, the finishing line shall be, at a gate, between the gate marks (RRS 32.2.c).
TIME LIMIT AND TARGET TIME
The length of the course will be set for a target time of 60 minutes. Failure to meet the target time will not be grounds for redress. This
changes rule 62.1(a).
Boats failing to finish within 20 minutes after the first boat sails the course and finishes will be scored Did Not Finish without a hearing.
This changes rules 35, A.4 and A.5.
PENALTY SYSTEM
Appendix P will apply with the following changes:
(a) If a first penalty is signalled after she has finished, a boat will be given a scoring penalty of 8 points without a hearing.
(b) Appendix P3 is modified to read: “If a boat has been penalized for the first time under Appendix P1 and the Race Committee signals a
postponement, general recall or abandonment, the penalty is cancelled, but it is counted to determine the number of times she has been
penalized during the regatta. If a boat has been penalized for the second or subsequent time under Appendix P1 and the Race Committee
signals a postponement, general recall or the race is abandoned, the boat shall not sail in this race if it is restarted or re-sailed. If she does,
she shall be disqualified without a hearing and scored DNE”.
MEASUREMENT PENALTIES
(a)Measurement protests will only be accepted from either the Race Committee or Jury. This changes rule 60.1(a).
(b)If a boat is sailed without a centreboard stopper, or with no mast retention line attached (class rule 3(b) xi), a scoring penalty of 20
points will, without a hearing, be added to the boats score in the last completed race in which she was racing without a centreboard stopper or the retention line. However, she shall not be scored worse than DSQ. This changes rule 63.1.
(c) If a sail, top mast, or bottom mast has been changed prior to a race without the permission required by SI 5.2 the sailor will be disqualified without a hearing from the last completed race when the change was used. This changes rule 63.1.
(d) For any other measurement protest, the jury may apply an alternative penalty to disqualification.
SCORING AND ARBITRATION PENALTIES
(a) Scoring penalties will be applied according to RRS 44.3c.
(b) The scoring abbreviation for a discretionary penalty imposed under SI 16.1a and SI 16.1b will be DPI.
(c) The scoring abbreviation for an arbitration penalty is ARB:
(d) A scoring penalty in a split fleet will be based on the number of competitors in the largest group.
WHISTLE SYSTEM
In order to encourage boats to take penalties afloat, jury members may blow a whistle when they see what they believe to be a breach
of a rule. If no boat takes a penalty, the International Jury may lodge a protest.

PROTESTS AND REQUESTS FOR REDRESS
The Jury office is located near the Race Office at Marina Mittelmole.
Protests shall be delivered at the jury office within the protest time which will begin as soon as practicable after the finish of the last boat
in each fleet. Protest forms are available at the jury office. The end of protest time will be posted on the official notice board and may be
different for each fleet. Protest hearings will be held in the protest room at Marina Mittelmole.
17.3. Notices will be posted no later than 30 minutes after the protest time limit to inform competitors of hearings in which they are parties or
named as witnesses.
17.4. Notices of protests by the Race Committee or International Jury will be posted to inform boats under rule 61.1(b).
17.5. A list of boats that have been penalized under Appendix P will be posted on the official notice board located near the race office.
17.6. Breaches of instructions 1.4, 4.2, 12.2, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 shall not be grounds for a protest by a boat. This changes rule 60.1(a). For
these breaches the jury may apply another penalty in place of disqualification.
17.7. On the last scheduled day of racing a request for reopening a hearing shall be delivered
(a) within the protest time limit if the requesting party was informed of the decision on the previous day;
(b) no later than 15 minutes after the requesting party was informed of the decision on that day;
(c) no later than 15 minutes after a signal to abandon racing is displayed ashore. This changes rule 66.
17.8. On the last scheduled day of racing a request for redress from a jury decision shall be delivered no later than 15 minutes after the decision was posted. This changes rule 62.2(a).
17.9. Measurement protests shall only be accepted from the Race Committee or the jury. This changes rule 60.1(a).
17.10. Decisions of the jury will be final as provided in rule 70.5.

ARBITRATION SYSTEM
As an alternative to a complete protest hearing by the Internatioanl Jury, competitors may be given the choice of using an arbitration system. A condition for this is that the parties present at the time scheduled for the hearing agree to accept the decision of the arbitrators.
The arbitration system changes rules 63 and 64.
The arbitrators will be two members of the International Jury. They will take the evidence of the parties and give their opinion as to any
rule breaches. This opinion will be binding as a protest decision on the parties. However, the hearing may be reopened under rule 66. If a
party to a hearing asks for a reopening, the penalty, if any, will be DSQ. If the arbitrators refer the case to the International Jury, or the
jury initiates a reopening, the penalty will be the penalty prescribed in next item of this Sailing Instruction or a greater penalty.
If the arbitrators penalize a boat, she shall receive a 30% Scoring Penalty calculated as stated in RRS 44.3(c).
If any of the parties refuse to accept the system when offered arbitration, the protest will be heard by a properly constituted International
Jury and RRS 64 applies.
19.
EQUIPMENTS AND MEASUREMENT CHECKS
A boat and equipment may be inspected at any time for compliance with the class rules, as wet clothing rules at the discretion of the class
measurer or inspector, Race Committee or International Jury.
20.
20.1.
SCORING
For all classes, 2 races are required to be completed to constitute a regatta.
(a) When less than 4 races have been completed, a boat’s regatta score will be the total of her race scores.
(b) When 4 to 7 races have been completed, a boat’s regatta score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. When 8
have been completed, a boat’s regatta score will be the total of her race scores excluding her two worst scores.
21.
21.1.
SAFETY REGULATIONS
Competitors shall wear personal flotation devices at all times when afloat, except briefly while changing or adjusting clothing or personal
equipment. Wet suits and dry suits are not personal flotation devices. This changes rule 40.
Competitors who require assistance from rescue boats should wave one arm with hand open. If no assistance is required, the arm should
be waved with fist closed.
If considered necessary a competitor may be ordered by a race organisation boat to abandon his or her boat and board a rescue boat.
A boat that retires from a race shall notify the Race Committee as soon as possible. The boat shall complete a retirement declaration form
at the protest desk on return ashore.

TEAM AND SUPPORT BOATS
Team and support boats shall, at all times when afloat, be clearly identified by the country name, national letters or national flag of the
team they represent.
Team and support boats shall not be in the racing area during the period between the first warning signal of the first fleet in a race and
the finish of the last boat in the last fleet in that race except when a postponement is signalled, in which case they may be in the racing
area until the first signal after the end of the postponement. The racing area is defined in instruction 9.2.
If a team or support boat does not comply with instruction 22.1. and/or 22.2. a penalty may be applied to some or all associated competitors.
Instruction 22.3. will not apply to rescue operations.
In case of extremely dangerous situations (weather conditions, etc.) the Race Committee will fire, together with or after the signals for abandonment of races, 3 guns with green stars. This signal will be repeated by as many Race Committee vessels as possible.
This means for racing boats: Safety first for crew and helmsman. Sail your boat in the safest way to the nearest harbour.
Safety in the area of the sea channel Warnemuende:
- !!! Attention: Large Ferry-Traffic volume, cross the fairway in the shortest and safest way!!!
- Pay attention to International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (IRPCAS).
- Pay attention to Instructions of the water police.
23.
INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of € 1,000,000 per event or the
equivalent.
24.
TRASH DISPOSAL
Boats shall not put trash in the water. Trash may be placed aboard support and Race Committee boats.
25.
ADVERTISING
Boats shall display advertising supplied by the Organizing Authority as described on the official notice board.

26.
LIABILITY
The WARNEMUENDER WOCHE, Warnemuender Segel-Club, Hamburger Segel-Club and Segler-Verein Stoessensee, the Deutscher Segler Verband and
the International Laser Class Association, their officers, members and volunteers do not accept liability for loss of life or property, personal injury or
damage caused by or arising out of the Europa Cup and Laser Youth Grand Prix Regattas and competitors take part in the Regattas entirely at their
own risk. The establishment of the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions in no way limits or reduces the complete and unlimited responsibilities
of a competitor being solely and entirely responsible for the management of a boat he or she is sailing. A competitor must be of good health and
a competent sailor capable of sailing a Laser in strong winds. It is theresponsibility of each sailor to decide to participate in a race or to continue racing.
27.
RIGHTS TO USE NAME AND LIKENESS
By participating in this event, competitors automatically grant to the Organizing Authority and the event sponsors the right, in perpetuity, to make,
use, and show, at their discretion, any photography, audio and video recordings, and other reproductions of them made at the venue or on the water
from the time of their arrival at the venue, until their final departure, without compensation for the purpose of news reporting, regatta documentary, advertising to promote the regatta, the national or the international class association or sailing, and advertising where the above pictures/video
recordings/etc are shown in the context of sailors/participants competing in a Laser Europa Cup and Youth Grand Prix event.
28.
28.1.
COMPETITION FORMAT
Where in a Laser rig class there is a number of entries bigger than 80, (or close to this limit at discretion of the Race Committee) that fleet
can be split into groups.
28.2. The Organizing Authority will divide the boats in the split fleet(s) into groups of, as nearly as possible, equal size.
28.2.1. Each appropriate Fleet will be split into 2 groups called Yellow and Blue or in 3 groups called Yellow Blue and Red; or in 4 groups with the
group Green.
28.2.2. Boats will be possibly reassigned to groups each day after racing based on the overall available results.
28.2.3. The polling will be made with ZW scoring system, with the alternate option: 1st to Y, 2nd to B, 3rd to R, 4th to R, 5th to B, 6th to Y etc.
28.3. The notice of groups will be posted on the official notice board as soon as possible before the first race of the day. The starting signal will
be made no earlier than 60 minutes after the time of the posted notice.
28.4. If all groups of a split fleet have not completed the same number of races by the end of a day, the groups with fewer races will continue
racing the following day until all groups have completed the same number of races.
28.5. If at the end of the regatta some groups of a split fleet have more race scores than others, scores for the most recent race(s) will be excluded so that all groups of that fleet have the same number of race scoures. That Sailing Instruction will be applied also at the last day to
define the groups for finals, see this Sailing Instruction 28.6.
28.6. When at least 4 races are sailed for all groups, on the last day the fleet will be divided into Gold and Silver fleets (and bronze and Green
if necessary) and raced in „finals“ format. See Notice of Race 6.3.
28.7. Different final-series groups need not have completed the same number of races.
