1. Use
1.1 Intended use
Detonating agent in cartridges for firearms, in cartouches for technical purposes or in
controlled pyrotechnical quick-release devices and as priming fuse for propellant
charges.
1.2 Duration of use
Primers can be used within 10 years after production. However, the term of guarantee
is 2 years after production only.
1.3 Advice for the safe use:
No smoking.
Keep away from heat sources and open flame.
Do not throw, deform (squeeze) by force or open primers.
Caution: Detonation impact sensitive!
Sale only allowed in unopened original packing.
Reloading is only to be done by competent adults as per the corresponding
instructions.
Store primers inaccessible to children.
Wear safety goggles when installing primers in cartridges.
Wash hands right after use.
Store unused primers in the original packing for safety reasons.
2. Storage
Only store in approved shipping containers in areas provided for it in accordance with
the transport regulations (storage class: 1.4, compatibility group: S).
Store cool and dry (optimal storage temperature: 20°C).
Secure against theft and unauthorized use.
Do not store together with flammable or burn stimulating material.
3. Destruction / Disposal
Completely used primers can be disposed as metal waste.
Unused primers, which cannot be used for their original purpose any more, have to
be disposed of by a qualified disposal facility under consideration of the local official
regulations, in particular the hazardous material regulations (UN 0044, PRIMERS,
1.4S).

Before contracting external service enterprises the waste producer has to check
whether these have all the necessary authorizations to collect, transport and recycle
or dispose of these objects.
4. Further Information
National:
According to article 1, paragraph 1, clause 2a) of the 1st regulation to the explosives
law of September 1, 2002 (1st explosives regulation) the explosives law is not
applicable to the commerce, import, transport, storage, use and the destruction of
primers with an initiating composition of not more than 0.2 g. Accordingly, for these
operations no permission according to article 7 and no qualification certificate
according to article 20 of the explosives law are necessary.
