Safety Precautions
NOTICE!
Before starting the system, read the safety precautions in the Quick Installation Guide.

Starting the System for the first time
To start the system for the first time, proceed with the following steps.
1.
Plug the power cords from the power supply unit into a high-quality power strip that
offers protection from electrical noise and power surges.
2.
Press the power button on the front panel to start the system. The system starts the
initialization. This can take a few minutes, and the system may restart. After the
initialization the Set Up Windows screen is displayed where you can select the language

Select the system language, then click Next >.
4.
Select your regional settings, then click Next >.
5.
Enter the administrator’s user name, then click Next >.
Note:
We recommend using Admin as user name. Administrator or BRSuser cannot be used.
6.
Enter the administrator’s password and a password hint, then click Next >.
7.
Accept the license terms, then click Next >.
8.
Select the time zone and the date and time, then click Next >.
Note: If you have changed the language, the system restarts.
The system logs on automatically in administrator mode. The Windows desktop is
displayed.
9.
The message Windows will shut down in less than a minute is displayed.
The system restarts. The Windows logon screen is displayed.
10. Enter the administrator’s user name and the password, then press ENTER.
11. You can now configure the network, computer name, IP cameras and the Bosch
Recording Station or you can load an existing Bosch Recording Station configuration file.
Note:
To load an existing Bosch Recording Station configuration file, click Start, right-click
Bosch Recording Station, then click Run as administrator.

12. Click Start, then click Restart.
The system starts in BRSuser mode and displays the following:

You have not configured the system: The Configuration Wizard is displayed.
You have configured the system: Bosch Recording Station starts automatically. Enter
the relevant BRSuser name and password. The user interface is displayed.

13. The keyboard setting for the BRSuser remains in default English (US) if you have changed
the languge.
To change the keyboard setting, proceed with the following steps:

In the taskbar, right-click the keyboard icon, then click Settings....
–
In the Text Services and Input Languages dialog box, click Add.
–
In the Add Input Language dialog box, select your keyboard language, then click OK.
–
In the Installed services list remove all languages not needed.
To proceed this, select the keyboard in the Installed services list, then click
Remove.
–
Click OK.
NOTICE!
To prevent unauthorized access to the system, do not configure an Account Picture for the
BRSuser.
