Platin ist das edelste aller Edelmetalle. Das wertvolle Metall ist schwerer als Gold, fast doppelt so schwer wie Blei und
unlöslich in allen Säuren ausser Königswasser. Nur rund 190 Tonnen werden jährlich gefördert, gegenüber 2600
Tonnen Gold. So selten ist Platin, dass das Geheimnis um seine Bearbeitung von den alten Ägyptern und später von
den Indios Südamerikas mit ins Grab genommen und in Europa erst im 18. Jahrhundert unter vielen Mühen wieder
gelüftet werden konnte.
Uhren aus Platin bilden das Nonplusultra bedeutender Uhrensammlungen. Zusammen mit erlesenen Schmuckstücken
aus Platin stehen diese Kreationen für eine besondere Kategorie von Luxus und Perfektion. Platin verleiht diesen
Meisterwerken eine Ausstrahlung, deren dezent vornehmer Glanz im Blickpunkt steht, ohne sich in den Vordergrund

Le platine est le plus noble de tous les métaux précieux. Plus lourd que l’or et presque deux fois aussi pesant que le plomb, il
est insoluble dans tous les acides sauf l’eau régale. Seules 190 tonnes de platine sont exploitées chaque année par rapport aux
2600 tonnes d’or d’exploitation annuelle. Le platine est si rare que le secret de son façonnage a été emporté dans la tombe par
les anciens Egyptiens et, plus tard, par les Indiens d’Amérique du Sud et n’a été dévoilé en Europe qu’au XVIIIe siècle au
terme de nombreux efforts.

Platinum - the noblest of all precious metals. This premier metal is heavier than gold, almost twice as heavy as lead and
insoluble in all acids except for aqua regia. A mere 190 tonnes are recovered each year, in comparison with 2600 tonnes of
gold. Platinum is so rare that the ancient Egyptians, and later the South American Indians, took the secret of how to work it
with them to the grave and it was not until the 18th century, after considerable effort, that the Europeans finally succeeded
in unravelling the mystery enshrouding it.

After being underestimated for years, platinum was rediscovered by watchmakers and jewellers towards the end of the
19th Century. Artists were fascinated by the gently shimmering shine of platinum, particularly when framing a glittering

die LANGE 1 TOURBILLON, eine exklusive, so noch nie gebaute Armbanduhr in Platin mit dezentraler Stunden- und
Minutenanzeige, kleiner Sekunde, Gangreserveanzeige und mit dem einzigartigen, patentierten Grossdatum.
«A. Lange & Söhne», nom le plus célèbre de l’horlogerie de précision allemande, est remonté sur la scène du temps en 1994.
Ceci marqua la fin d’un arrêt forcé de plus de 50 ans pour les montres mécaniques de précision de l’ancien royaume
de Saxe. Aujourd’hui, les produits de cette manufacture de tradition figurent, comme autrefois, parmi les plus convoités
du monde. Sur la photo, nous apercevons le modèle LANGE 1 TOURBILLON, une montre-bracelet exclusive en platine
jamais fabriquée de cette façon à affichage décentralisé des heures et des minutes, petite aiguille des secondes, indicateur
de réserve de marche et affichage de la date unique au monde et breveté en gros caractères.
