It summons us to bridge the distance from our minds to our hearts through strength and gentleness, bringing about personal transformation and global healing. Along with images of Greenland, the Ice Wisdom 2011 Calendar chronicles a Sacred Fire Ceremony held there that honored the spiritual significance of climate change. Ashes from Sacred Fires around the world – from Asia to the Americas to the heart of Africa – provided the foundation of the fire. Similar fires burned around the globe on the same day in support of this ceremony. Sirmiq Aattuq Uummatinnit ilisimasaapput Kalaalliniit inugiassuit sorsunnermik attorneqarsimanngissaannartut. Ceremonies, Chants and Storytelling — CD’s by Angaangaq April Gehe auf gute Weise. The Seasons Angaangaq tells the story of the seasons of our lives and of our mother earth. This profound story isembraced by the healing chant of Melting the Ice in the Heart of Man May Das Allerschwierigste zu erlernen ist zu verlernen was wir schon wissen. Shamanic Journey As you travel into a journey, guided by Angaangaq and his drum, the Qilaut, you come home to yourself, standing tall and powerful as you are meant to be. A Call to Pray This powerful chant calls on all of creation, the mineral world, the plant world, the animal world and the human world to awaken and join in prayer so the Creator can see us. Ancient Ones The Ancient Ones is a deep healing chant bringing us into connection witih our roots, our ancestors, allowing us once again to walk tall and powerful as we are meant to be. I C E W ISDOM Melting the Ice in the Heart of Man Words by Angaangaq (in English and Kalallisut, with German translations inside the back cover — mit deutscher Übersetzung auf der Innenseite des Covers) Photographs of Greenland by Jane English, Adam Lyberth, Sven Nieder, Oona Soleil and others Melting the Ice in the Heart of Man – Sirmiq Aattuq Uummatinnit – is a teaching from the people of Greenland – Kalaallit-Nunaat – an ancient culture that has never known war. The ceremony was conducted by Angaangaq Angakkorsuaq, an Elder and carrier of the Qilaut (Wind Drum). From a family of traditional healers and wisdom keepers in Greenland, Angaangaq knows firsthand the dramatic environmental changes that are taking place on this planet; he believes that we can use these changes as opportunities for personal and societal growth. The greatest distance in the existence of man is not from here to there nor from there to here. Nay, the greatest distance in the existence of man is from his mind to his heart.
