In front of you lies the new VAN DEN EYNDE
product-catalogue. It is a long time ago now since
we produced a guide like this and we did realise
that it was the “highest time” to improve on this.
Wir freuen uns, Ihnen unseren neuen Van Den
Eynde Produkt-Katalog präsentieren zu können. Es
ist lange Zeit her, seitdem wir einen Leitfaden wie

As an end-consumer of our products you probably
won’t have realised that lately a lot has changed
within our company.

Firstly we have tried to improve the service
towards our direct customers, the people who
distribute our products throughout Europe. Our
aim was and is simply a constant, complete and

Also we have tried to make our range more
complete. This has resulted in many new and

can all see and read about in this catalogue.
Probably the biggest change is that as from now
we will be aiming the exposure of our products a
lot more directly to you, the end-consumer of our

Method
Method feeder fishing is becoming increasingly popular.
This last innovation in feeder-fishing has “blown over”
from (has it ever been any different with new styles of
fishing??) England where it is used to great effect on the
commercial lakes.
This system basically means fishing with a kind of “inline” swimfeeder with a very short hooklength to which
the hookbait is attached. This hookbait can be “hidden”
in the groundbait or can hang next to it.
Any fish in the area will be attracted by the
“dissolving”groundbait that comes from the swimfeeder
and they will find and take “the biggest food”, your
hookbait. When they want to swim away they will hook
themselves against the weight of the swimfeeder.
This very simple and effective fishing system requires
a specific groundbait approach. Once on the bottom
the groundbait must start releasing itself from the
swimfeeder immediately which requires specific mixes
for this fishing.
Van den Eynde has developed several different
groundbaits for this type of fishing, all with their own
specific colour and smell.
Method Feederfischen wird überall immer beliebter. Die

any modern fishing method
possible. Simply unique! He
also managed to win, and
this in only a very short timeperiod, 5 (!!) individual World
Championships and finally in
2010 he added an individual
European Championship win as
well.
Since many years Alan has been a true “Van den Eyndeman”. We used his unmatched knowledge and ideas
when developing a new groundbait that carries his
name. The result is G5.
G5 is an all-round groundbait that can be used on a great
variety of waters when targeting species like roach,
bream, tench, carassio and carp. Nearly always you can
use this mix neat.
In case of fishing in extremely deep and flowing waters
it’s adviseable to add a percentage of DAMP LEAM and/
or a percentage of RECORD ZILVER or RECORD GOUD,
this depending on the exact fishing conditions.

HI-PRO CARP METHOD MIX
This is an extremely proteine-rich
groundbait with many coarse
particles in it. It has a very high
food-content.
The ideal mix for when you can
expect to catch a lot of carp (or
other big fish).
If you expect the fishingconditions to be a bit harder we
advise you to mix this groundbait
with Brown Crumb on a 50/50
basis.
The name says it all, this
groundbait is perfect for method-feederfishing but surely
also for other more traditional fishing-methods like pole
and/or waggler.
HI-PRO CARP METHOD MIX ist ein proteinreiches

TURBO
This groundbait was developed together with Phillipe Carroyer, the “many times”
Belgian International. It certainly is one of the “bestsellers” in our range. This is logical
because a more all-round groundbait is nearly impossible to find. TURBO CLASSIC will
attract virtually every European species in just about every water-type possible. This
is a medium heavy groundbait that can be made heavier when the conditions require
this by adding a percentage of RECORD ZILVER or RECORD GOUD. Alternatively
it can also be made lighter by adding a percentage of SUPERCUP or even SPECIAL
WEDSTRIJD.
Dieses Grundfutter wurde von Phillipe Carroyer entwickelt und gehört zu unseren
“Bestsellern”. Es hat sich seit vielen Jahren als ein Rundum-Grundfutter bewährt.
TURBO CLASSIC wird in fast allen europäischen Gewässertypen erfolgreich

Gewässerbedingungen angepasst werden kann. Fügt man RECORD SILBER oder
RECORD GOLD hinzu, so wird das Grundfutter schwerer. Alternativ kann es auch
leichter gemacht werden, indem man ein Prozentsatz von SUPERCUP oder sogar
SPECIAL Wedstrijd einbringt.

GROTE VOORN / gros gardon
The name says it all. GROTE VOORN (big roach) was developed with attracting big
roach and other similar fish species in mind. This is quite a heavy groundbait with
many “working”particles in it that will rise from the bottom and sink back down again.
Irresistable for any fish swimming in the area. When the exact fishing conditions
require this you can make a lighter mix by adding a percentage of VOORN (roach) to
this groundbait.
Hier spricht schon der Name für sich. GROTE VOORN (großes Rotauge) wurde gezielt
für große Rotaugen und ähnlich große Fischarten entwickelt. Es ist ein schweres
Grundfutter mit relativ großen Partikeln. Diese senken und heben sich immer wieder
vom Futterplatz ab und sorgen somit für einen ständigen Anreiz für die Fische.
Wenn die Bedingungen es erfordern, so können sie den Futtermix heller gestalten
durch die Zugabe von Voorn (Rotauge).

RECORD silver / Silber
This groundbait is heavy and binding. The perfect mix to use for deep canals and
especially rivers. RECORD ZILVER is bream-orientated but surely also attracts species
like roach, tench, carassio and carp. Also this mix is ideal for “adding weight” to other
mixes in our range like BEET, KASTAAR, TURBO and SUPERCUP when your exact
fishing-conditions require this.
RECORD Silber gehört ebenfalls zu den bekanntesten Grundfutter von VAN DEN
EYNDE. Es empfiehlt sich für tiefe Kanäle und Flüsse und wird gerne im MIX mit
Turbo, KASTAAR und Supercup, entsprechend den Bedingungen, verwendet.

This groundbait was designed with the
help of Luc Vercammen, former Individual
European Champion.
The name says it all. This groundbait is aimed
at attracting bigger fish-species like bream,
tench and especially also carp.
BIG FISH has a coarse structure.
A “robust”groundbait that will “break open”
quickly once it has reached the bottom. A mix
of BIG FISH and VIJVER GEEL has proved
successful many times when fishing for
bream!

water that is irresistible for any fish in the
area.

This groundbait was developed in England
and this country is of course the “source”
from modern carp fishing on commercial
waters.
CARP FOOD SOURCE is a fishmealorientated mix that also has crushed pellets

developed with feeder-fishing in mind.
Both Jan Zekveld and Jan van Schendel
helped us with this.
DS FEEDER is very all round an can
be used when fishing in virtually any
European water (deep or shallow, with
current or not).
It’s obvious that fish can’t see in what
way (or better, with what fishing-method)
an angler is trying to catch them.
Any groundbait that’s aimed at feederfishing simply needs to have some
specific specifications because of the
differences in the way they’re introduced
into the chosen fishing-spot.
Introduced inside a swimfeeder the
groundbait reaches the surface of the
water with a lot more “speed” than
when you throw a groundbait-ball into the
“swim” and it needs to stay inside the
swimfeeder at that moment. Once the
swimfeeder has reached the bottom
the groundbait needs to “explode”out of
the swimfeeder as quickly as possible.
Used neat, DS FEEDER is a fairly light
mix and therefore suitable for shallow and
still- or slow moving waters.

The natural colour of just about every
groundbait-mix will be either yellow, lightbrown or maximum a bit “deeper” brown.
This simply has to do with the natural
colour of most groundbait-ingredients. The
colour differs a bit, depending on exactyely
which ingredients you mix.
Everywhere in Europa there are different
“theories” about ideal groundbait-colours
and we as groundbait-producers very often
get asked for existing groundbaits but in a
different colour. The amount of demands is
ever increasing as well.
Three colours are by far the most required
colours, black, red and also yellow.
This may seem strange but when you think
a bit deeper it’s all much more “logics”
than it seems.

result all our waterways have become a lot cleaner

Especially in the Northern part of Europe this has
resulted in a nearly “bizar”situation where the watercolour is best to compare with tap-water.
An extremely important result from all this is that the
fish that live in these waters can see better than ever.
An added problem for us fishing-fanatics is the fact
that in nature seeing also means being seen.
Believe us when we state that fish are far from being
stupid animals and therefore it’s no surprise that fish
living in these conditions become a lot more careful in
their behaviour.
This nearly always results in different feeding habits
and sometimes during the day no feeding at all.
It’s extremely important, when fishing in these
conditions, to create a feeding place that is as neutral
as possible. A place with too big a contrast with the
very often dark coloured bottom definitely can be a
“frightener” for the fish you want to attract.
The fish would love to feed on such a place but the
contrast frightenes them too much. They realise that
by doing that they would expose themselves to any
predator that’s anywhere near.

As long as our sport exists red has been a magical
colour. Many anglers believe that baits and
groundbaits in this colour will give them more
attraction and “catching-power”.
We know anglers for instance that wouldn’t
put a maggot on the hook from another colour.
Alternatively, we have to add, in the Southern part of
Europe most anglers have confidence and the natural
white colour.
To prove who is right will always remain impossible,
but does this matter?
When an angler can feed and fish with maximum
confidence his or her chances for success are the
biggest. CONFIDENCE therefore is the magical and
most important word in our sport.
We produce several groundbaits in a red colour:

Yellow coloured groundbaits are very often used
when species like bream and carp are the target.
Yellow is also a popular colour for anglers fishing in
“coloured” waters.
Certain waters “carry” a lot of sand or leam after

to get more colour than normal. Especially in these
conditions yellow comes into its own.

ADDITIVES POWDER /
PULVER
Not so many anglers would go start a fishing-session
without adding some kind of additive to their chosen
groundbait mix. the reason for this is simple, there is a
great belief that the chosen additive will add even more
to the attracting powers of the groundbait and that even
more fish therefore will be drawn to the chosen fishing
spot. All this will add to their CONFIDENCE and this
CONFIDENCE is the magical word in our sport.
The most used form of additives are the powder
additives. At Van den Eynde we have a wide range of
very concentrated powder additives that can all be used
in the same way. As a set rule we always advise to use
the contents of one packet for 4 to 5 kilos of groundbait,
but this is a very personal thing and it’s only an indication.
The best way of adding powder-additives to your
grounbait is to add them to your dry groundbait before
you start to dampen it or to dissolve them in the water
with which you are going to dampen the groundbait.
The all important thing is that they get mixed with the
groundbait as thoroughly as possible.
Bream / Brassen
Nicht viele Angler würden Ihren Angelplatz mit purem
Grundfutter, ohne die Zugabe eines weiteren Lockmittels,
anlegen.
Der größte Teil von Ihnen mixt sein Grundfutter,
entsprechend seiner Überzeugung, mit einem Zusatz.

anglers. Liquid additives have the advantage that they
will sweeten your groundbait which is very good when
fishing for bigger species. They will also give more
“binding power” to any chosen groundbait.
The contents of one bottle is enough for 4 to 5 kilos of
dry groundbait. Again, this is only an indication.
The best way to introduce the Liquid additives to your
groundbait is to dissolve them in the water with which
you’re dampening your groundbait.

Pellets were originally produced for the massive and
World-wide fish-farming industry. Because of a rapidly
growing fish-shortage everywhere on our planet of
course more and more fish are being “bred” everywhere.
The step to using these pellets in sports-fishing of course
is a logicall one. Especially in waters where fish that
are bred are being stocked you can’t do without them
anymore.
Pellets are very addictive so also on waters where for
instance carp anglers feed them a lot the other fish have
got used to them as well.
In our pellet-range you can find:

time. We advise „one minute per mm.“. After that just get
rid of the water and they’re ready for use.

EXPANDER PELLETS
These are hookpellets that have to be prepared before
use.
The best way of preparation is as follows:
First pour water over the amount of pellets that you think
you’ll be using and immediately after that “pump” the
pellets several times with the use of a so called pelletpump.
At first the pellets will float but after pumping everything
“vacuum” and then press the button of the pump you’ll
see that the pellets will sink now.
After repeating this procedure several times all the pellets
will sink properly
At the time of pouring the water over the pellets you can
add your chosen liquid additive.

The living legend
Bob Nudd simply is one of the most famous anglers
on earth. He won 4 Individual World Champion
titles and as a team-member he was part of ……
Team World Championship-titels won by his English
National team.
Together with all this Bob has become on of the
best ambassadors that our sport has ever had. For
all these efforts he was awarded a couple of years
ago with an official English MBE-title
Bob Nudd gehört zu den bekanntesten Anglern auf
der Welt. Er gewann 4 Einzeilweltmeisterschaften
und als Mitglied der englischen Nationalmannschaft
kann er 7 Team-WM-Titel für sich verbuchen.
Mit diesen großen Erfolgen hat Bob Nudd
im englischen Angelsport eine besondere
Botschafterposition eingenommen. Für diese
Leistung wurde er mehrfach mit dem englischen
MBE-Titel ausgezeichnet.
As an angler Bob has been a big fan and follower of our
Van Den Eynde-groundbaits and products. During this
time we started more and more to use Bob’s knowledge
and experience when developing new products. On top
of this Bob became involved in the distribution system
from our goods in England.

Bob, how did you, as an English match angler, get in
touch with Van Den Eynde?
In 1982 I got my first England “cap” and already at that
time the name Marcel Van Den Eynde was legendary
in the International fishing world. Already quite soon
after that I got to know him more personally and we also
developed a business relation when I got involved in the
distribution of his products in England.
Marcel was definitely one of the true top-class anglers
of his time and generation. A fantastic personality and a
truelly nice person. That is the best way in which I can
describe Marcel. I have always been fascinated by his
simple approach and his very intelligent solutions for all
kinds of “fishing-problems”. He definitely was an inspirer
and an example for me.
Bob, wie bist du als ein englischer Wettkampfangler
mit unseren Produkten in Kontakt gekommen?
Im Jahr 1982 wurde ich das erste mal für die englische
Nationalmannschaft aufgestellt. Bald darauf habe ich
Marcel Van den Eynde persönlich kennen und schätzen
gelernt.
Lange schon war der Name Marcel Van Den Eynde im
internationalen Angelsport legendär.
Er war definitiv einer der wahren Top-Angler seiner Zeit
und Generation. Eine fantastische Persönlichkeit und
eine wirklich nette Person. Das ist die beste Art und
Weise, in der ich Marcel beschreiben kann. Ich war
immer von seiner logischen und doch sehr intelligenten
Lösung für alle Arten von “Fishing-Probleme”
fasziniertdefinitiv eine Quelle der Inspiration und ein
Vorbild für mich.
Wir entwickelten eine Freundschaft und
Geschäftsbeziehung. Ich unterstützte seinen Vertrieb in
England.
You were talking about the distribution of the Van
Den Eynde products in your country. That will not
have been so simple in such a big country I assume?
It wasn’t all that bad really. You have to realise at this
point that commercial groundbaits at that time were
hardly used at all in England. English anglers surely have
a totally different “groundbait-background” when you
compare that to our European colleagues. You could say
therefore that we had “times going for us” a little bit.
In my starting days as a matchangler you simply only had
Brown breadcrumbs and white breadcrumbs. You made
a mix of these two types according to the depth and
movement of the water you were going to fish in and
that was it.
Of course a good distribution is more than just a bit of
good fortune. We managed to set up a good distributionnetwork with a guaranteed good delivery system for
really every shop in the country (that meant about
2000 of them at that time) and also publicity-wise a lot
happened.
A very important moment came when Marcel came
over to England for a week-end’s fishing over here. More
specific he came to a match on the Grand Union Canal
near Uxbridge on the west side of London.
You have to realise here that our canals are a bit different
to what you are used to over there. Our canals often
are maximum deeper than 2 metres and wider than
20 metres. A very careful approach therefore seeme
simple logics to us. A groundbait bombardment like you
see in Europe at the start of a match simply didn’t take
place…….until the arrival of Marcel.
He didn’t know the water he was going to fish of course
so he simply decided to feed and fish in the way he was
used to. I will admit that there were some “reserved
thoughts” about his approach, also with me. That day he
won the competition and “opened a lot of eyes”. I will
never forget that day. I was “pegged” next to him!!
Du hast über den Vertrieb der Van Den Eynde
Produkte in England gesprochen. Ich nehme an, das
ist keine leichte Aufgabe in einem so großem Land?
Es war gar nicht so schlimm, wirklich! Eine
Herausforderung war, die englischen Angler von Ihrem
kommerziellen Grundfutter wegzulocken. Es gab eine
Zeit, da gab es nur weiße und braune Semmelbrösel.
Daraus wurde, entsprechend dem Gewässer und der
Fischart nach, eine Mischung gemacht. Und das war es
dann.
Wir arbeiteten hart daran, den Anglern einen weit
größeren Hintergrund mit unserem Van Den Eynde
Grundfutter zu vermitteln.
Ein weiterer Wendepunkt zur Grundfütterung geschah,
als Marcel für ein Wochenende nach England kam. Es
fand ein Wettkampf auf dem Grand Union Canal, Nähe
Uxbridge auf der Westseite von London statt.
Ich muss anmerken, dass unsere Kanäle etwas
anders sind als die in Belgien. Wir haben oft eine
max. Wassertiefe von nur 2 Metern und Breite
von ca. 20 Metern. Daher war eine sorgfältige und
umsichtige Herangehensweise üblich. Ein Grundfutter
Bombardement wie wir es oft in Europa sehen, fand bei
uns einfach nicht statt. Bis zum Eintreffen von Marcel.
Er legte sein Grundfutter wie gewohnt und ganz
ungeniert an. Ich gebe zu, auch ich war etwas reserviert
diesem Ansatz gegenüber. Nun, der Erfolg sprach für
ihn. An diesem Tag gewann er den Wettbewerb und
“öffnete vielen die Augen”. Ich werde diesen Tag nicht
vergessen! Ich war sofort begeistert.
How do you see the importance of groundbaits in
the process of getting to success as a matchangler?
“ We English anglers have always been quite sceptical
about this. Personally I believe that it is an important part
“amongst other important parts”. The groundbait that
you’re using has to be doing exactly what the specific
conditions require for that time and place. Sometimes it
has to cloud, at other times it needs to stay compact for
a long time. Certain fish-species are attracted by a so
called “working” groundbait with many rising and sinking
again particles, other species require a groundbait-carpet
that lies still on the bottom.
I still remember a statement from Marcel in which he
describes the importance of groundbaits in his opinion.
He said that according to him groundbaits were about
30% of the total “package” that’s needed for coming
to success as a matchangler. According to him the rest
was depending on things like water-knowledge, the right
equipment, fishing-tactics and yes, also a bit of luck. For
a groundbait-manufacturer that is a very fair and honest
comment in my opinion and one in which I can find
myself fully.
Zu einem guten Vertrieb gehört allerdings mehr als
nur ein bisschen Glück. Es ist uns gelungen ein gutes
loglistisches Netzwerk aufzubauen. Wir haben es
geschaftt, wirklich jedes Geschäft in England (damals ca.
2.000 Stück) zeitnah zu beliefert.

Welche Bedeutung misst du der Grundfütterung in
den Angelprozess bei?
Wir „english-anglers“ sind schon immer sehr skeptisch.
Ich persönlich glaube, dass es ein wichtiger Teil unter
vielen anderen wichtigen Teilen ist. Das Grundfutter
muss den Bedingungen des Gewässers und der Fischart
genau angepasste sein. Manchmal muss es aktiv mit
Wolkenbildung sein und manchmal muss es eben sehr
kompakt für lange Zeit am Boden bleiben.
Ich erinnere mich noch an eine Aussage von Marcel,
seiner Meinung nach, hat die Grundfütterung ca. 30%
Anteil am Erfolg des Anglers. Der Rest vom „Paket“
wird bestimmt durch Gewässerkenntnis, Angeltaktik,
Ausrüstung und auch ein bisschen Glück. Für einen
Angelfutterhersteller eine sehr faire und ehrliche
Meinung.
Of course you could see the next question coming
from a massive distance. Which are your favourite
groundbaits?
That’s quite a selection of them really, and some of
them you might not know very well because they were
produced for the English market.
First of all I want to mention SUPERMATCH. I was
involved in the development of this groundbait which
was designed to attract especially species like roach and
bream in not very deep waters, as is often the case here.
Also our waters are very often clear so dark groundbaits
in these conditions are a must. SUPERMATCH has
brought me such good success! I just had to mention
this mix first.
SUPERCUP is another all-time favourite of mine.
Immediately after we started with the distribution of
the Van Den Eynde groundbaits in England I just knew
that this was the perfect groundbait-mix for many
of our most common fishing-conditions. I was right.
SUPERCUP in England became the by far most sold
groundbait from the range. Slightly cloudy, light and
“breaking open” quickly once on the bottom. Perfect for
attracting our roach and especially also skimmer-bream!
Meine nächste Frage ist sicher vorhersehbar, jedoch
interessant. Welches ist dein Lieblings Grundfutter?
Das ist eine ganz einfache Auswahl, und sie ist nicht
sehr bekannt, da sie ausschließlich für den englischen
Markt produziert wird.
Als erstes möchte ich SUPERMATCH dazu zählen. Ich
war an der Entwicklung dieses Grundfutters beteiligt und
bin daher bestens mit seinen Eigenschaften vertraut.
Dieses Grundfutter empfiehlt sich für Rotaugen und
Brassen in flachen klaren Gewässern. Ich habe damit
schon einige Erfolge erziehlt, von daher muss ich es als
erstes erwähnen.
SUPERCUP ist ein weiterer All-Time-Favorit von mir.
Unmittelbar nachdem wir mit dem Vertrieb der Van
Den Eynde Grundfutter begannen, wusste ich, dass

SUPERCUP der perfekte Grundfutter-Mix für viele
englische Gewässer war. Und ich hatte recht, schon
bald gehörte SUPERCUP zu den mit Abstand am
meisten verkauften Grundfutter in England. Leichte
Wolkenbildung, schnelle gleichmäßige Partikelfreigabe.
Perfekt zum Anlocken von Rotaugen und Skimmer.
I just love fishing in Ireland. The “wild” fishing there on
the big loughs and also rivers is the number one for me.
Ireland is the “Mekka” for many British anglers and also
for me.
There are many big Fishing Festivals to fish there and
one typicall thing of the fishing there is that you can find,
depending on where you’ve drawn your fishing-place,
totally different fishing-conditions in one and the same
competition. It is therefore nearly impossible to choose
the ideal groundbait-mix before you know where you’re
going to be on a specific match-day.
In Ireland nearly always I will use a combination of
RECORD GOUD, TURBO CARROYER and CHAPELURE
BRUIN (brown breadcrumbs). The exact mix is
depending on my drawn fishing place. In shallower
and/or not flowing places the percentage of TURBO
and CHAPELURE BRUIN will be relatively big. Deeper
and more flowing pegs mean that a bigger percentage
of RECORD GOUD (which is just about the heaviest
groundbait that I know) is required. To cut a long
story short, with these 3 mixes I can always get the
perfect groundbait for any and every situation possible.
Obviously this is of vital importance there.
Ich liebe Angeln in Irland. Das wilde Angeln an großen
Seen und Flüssen ist die Nummer eins für mich. Irland
ist das “Mekka” für viele britische Angler und auch für
mich.
Hier gibt es eine Menge großer Angel Festivals. Typisch
ist, dass man nie richtig weiß wo man sitzt. Und die
Angel-Bedingungen sind keineswegs vorhersehbar. Es
ist daher nahezu unmöglich, sein Grundfutter vorher
abzustimmen.
In Irland verwende ich fast immer eine Kombination aus
RECORD Gold, Turbo CARROYER und CHAPELURE
braun (braunes Paniermehl). Das Verhältnis ist abhängig
von meinem jeweiligen Angelplatz. An flacheren und
/ oder nicht fließenden Stellen ist der Anteil von Turbo
CARROYER und CHAPELURE braun relativ groß.
Tiefere und fließende Wirbel bedeuten, dass ein
größerer Prozentsatz von RECORD Gold erforderlich ist.
Das ist so ziemlich das schwerste Grundfutter das ich
kenne. Um eine lange Geschichte kurz zu halten, mit
diesen 3 Futtersorten bekomme ich immer das perfekte
Grundfutter für jeden und jede Situation.
Feederfishing is of English origin, although I fully realise
that for this style of fishing we have been overtaken by
countries like Holland, Belgium and also Germany. When
fishing in Ireland this method can be vital. I have to add
here that I love feederfishing and that counts especially
when I am in Ireland with it’s rough weather conditions.
Everybody can imagine that it’s not much fun “hanging
on to a long pole” with storm force winds. How much
easier in these conditions it is to fish comfortable and
effective with a feeder rod.
My favourite groundbait for this type of fishing is
DUTCH SPECIAL FEEDER. I can simply do anything
with this mix. From the deepest and most flowing
rivers up till a shallow Stillwater or anything in between,
this groundbait can be prepared in such a way that
it is perfect for any conditions possible. When your
groundbait has to “explode” on impact with the watersurface I add some CHAPELURE BRUIN and I mix
the groundbait dry. On the other hand I create a more
dampened groundbait, always in these conditions
neat, so that I can “bring back”the groundbait in the
swimfeeder after it has layed on the bottom in a 10
metres deep and fast flowing river (what of course is not
really what you require). In other words, I can always be
sure that my groundbait reaches the place where I want
it, on the bottom in my fishing place.
Feederangeln hat einen englischen Ursprung. Aber mir
ist klar, dass wir hier von Ländern wie Holland, Belgien
und auch Deutschland bereits überholt wurden. Diese
Angelmethode kann in Irland von ganz entscheidender
Bedeutung sein. Ich muss hier hinzufügen, dass ich das
Feederangeln liebe. Vor allen Dingen in Irland mit seinen
rauen Wetterbedingungen. Jeder kann sich vorstellen,
dass es nicht viel Spaß bringt an einer langen Kopfrute
mit starken Sturmböen zu “hängen”. Wieviel einfacher
ist es da, mit einer Feederrute diesen Bedingungen zu
trotzen und es ist auch sehr viel effektiver.
Mein Lieblingsfutter für diese Angeltechnik ist DUTCH
SPECIAL FEEDER. Dieser Futtermix ist bei nahezu allen
Bedingungen einsetzbar. Von tiefe, stark strömende
Flüsse bis hin zu flache Stillwasser oder irgendetwas
dazwischen.
Wenn das Grundfutter beim Auftreffen auf die
Wasseroberfläche gleich aufgehen soll, so füge ich
CHAPELURE braun hinzu und ich mische alles trocken
an.
Wenn das Grundfutter in tiefere Gewässer eingesetzt
werden soll, so feuchte ich es einfach stärker an.
Without any doubt the biggest evolution in English
matchfishing has been the fishing on the “commercials”.
This type of fishing requires a totally different
groundbait-approach.
The fish that swim around in these waters have often
been bred and they have been raised with pellets. These
pellets very often have a “fishmeal-base”. The fish get
totally used and even addicted to them.
Van den Eynde has brought out several very good
groundbaits for this type of fishing. Especially PELLET
FEED and MARINE GREEN SHELLFISH MIX are
wonderful mixes that have brought me some very
good results. Not only when fishing for carp, I might
add! And react on it. Also the other species (very often
these get ignored because most competitors feel that
winning with these is impossible most of the time in the
summer-months) get addicted to this type of groundbait

Ohne Zweifel hat das kommerzielle Angeln in England
seine größte Entwicklung gemacht. Diese Art der
Angelei erfordert einen völlig anderen Grundfutteransatz.
Fische aus diesen Gewässern werden häufig gezüchtet
und vorwiegend mit Pellets gefüttert. Die Grundzutat
dieser Pellets besteht häufig aus Fischmehl. Oft sind
Pellets das Hauptfutter und die Fische sind sogar süchtig
danach.
Van Den Eynde hat einige sehr gute Grundfutter für
diese Art der Angelei entwickelt. Speziell PELLET FEED
und MARINE GREEN SHELLFISH MIX sind ein ganz
wunderbarer Mix. Ich selbst habe damit schon einige
gute Ergebnisse erzielt und das nicht nur bei der Angelei
auf Karpfen.
Bob, Of course you have a massive fishing-life
behind you. These days you’re not longer part of the
National English team. Do you still have ambitions
left that you want to achieve?
I feel that a am a very lucky person. I always felt like
that. What could be nicer for someone that loves his
fishing, and matchfishing in particular, as much as I do
then to be able to make a good living out of that??
I have been able to achieve all that and on top of that I
have managed to win some competitions that in the past
I didn’t dare to dream about.
My time in International fishing might be over but I
am busier than ever these days. This situation has its
advantages as well. I now have a lot more possibilities to
fish Festivals in Ireland and that was, is and will always
be my biggest passion.
Everything that’s still “in store”for me in our sport is
o.k but I am “chasing” nothing. I just hope that this

wonderful fishing-life goes on for a long time to come.

Nationalmannschaft und kannst auf eine lange
Angelzeit zurückblicken. Hast du noch bestimmte
Ziele die du erreichen möchtest?
Ich bin ein sehr glücklicher Mensch, das war ich immer.
Was kann schöner sein, wenn man ein Hobby hat das
man liebt und es so ausleben kann wie ich es getan
habe? Und noch dazu konnte ich einige Erfolge für mich
erringen von die ich nicht gewagt habe sie zu träumen.
Meine Zeit in der englischen Nationalmannschaft
mag vorbei sein, aber ich bin aktiver als je zuvor.
Jede Situation hat ihre Vorteile. Ich habe jetzt mehr
Gelegenheit an den Festivals in Irland teilzunehmen. Und
die Angelei in Irland war und wird immer meine größte
Leidenschaft sein. Ich hoffe, dass ich das noch lange
machen kann. Nun, wie ich schon sagte, ich bin ein sehr
glücklicher Mensch.
