WALTHER P99Q large-scale order from the Netherlands
In the course of an Europe-wide tender for the new armament the Dutch Police
has decided in favour of the traditional manufacturer WALTHER. Once again
Walther was able to prevail convincingly against the competition and awarded
the contract with an order volume of 45,000 pistols for the WALTHER P99 Q NL.
The contract signed early in November 2012 stipulates that WALTHER equip the
Dutch Police with the advanced high-tech weapon in caliber 9 mm x 19 in the years
2013 to 2015.
The decision of the Dutch Police documents that the WALTHER P99 product range
with its functional and handling safety is gaining increasingly acceptance worldwide.
The order also represents the successful continuation of the cooperation with the
German company as WALTHER already equipped the Dutch Police with more than
50,000 pistols of the brand WALTHER P5 between 1979 and 2011.
In recent years large-scale orders for the P99 Q could be supplied already to the
German federal state police units in Rhineland-Palatinate, Schleswig-Holstein,
Hamburg and Bremen as well as the Finnish Police.
