Mit 1.834 km2 Fläche ist der Nationalpark Hohe Tauern das größte Natur­
schutzgebiet der Alpen. Der Nationalpark erstreckt sich über weite alpine
Urlandschaften wie Gletscher und Felswände sowie über die jahrhunderte­
lang sorgsam und mühevoll gepflegten Almlandschaften. Die Gipfelwelt
3000 liegt direkt an der Grenze zum Nationalpark und gibt den Blick frei
auf die spektakulärsten und höchsten Berge Österreichs. Und das nahezu
ganzjährig und vor allem bequem, ohne Rucksack und Steigeisen, sondern
mit den Kitzsteinhorn Seilbahnen.
The ‘Hohe Tauern National Park’ covers 1834 km² and is the largest nature
reserve in the Alps. The protected area encompasses large stretches of
primeval alpine landscape such as glaciers and cliffs, as well as pasture land
carefully cultivated over hundreds of years. Gipfelwelt 3000 is located right
on the border to the national park and opens up views of the highest and
most spectacular mountains in Austria almost all year round – without ruck­
sacks and crampons – in the comfort and convenience of the Kitzsteinhorn
cable cars.

An alpine ‘eureka’ experience.
The legendary Kitzsteinhorn is more than just a glacier. It’s THE glacier –
Austria’s first glacial skiing area – providing an alpine ‘eureka’ sensation
almost 365 days a year at an altitude of 3000 metres above sea level.
Surrounded by the highest peaks in Austria guests are treated to a breathtaking world of vast and mighty mountains and ice, mostly covered in sev­
eral metres of snow. Enjoy the thrills of the glacier – on the slopes, on
free-ride routes, in the snow parks, on the numerous trekking routes or
at the Gipfelwelt 3000. Choose from a unique range of opportunities – in
summer and in winter.
