This experience in gas appliance manufacture shows our dedication to continuous innovation. The design of the RHeco gas fired unit heater combines high thermal efficiency, quality components and ease of maintenance for enhanced life expectancy and reduced life cycle costs. In conventional unit heaters, some of the heat is lost in the flue gases. In the Reznor RHeco, these flue gases are led through a second heat exchanger which cools them down to a temperature below the dew point. This way, water vapour will condense and release its latent heat into the air flow. The RHeco is a fully condensing gas fired unit heater. With its efficiency of up to 109% and low NOx and CO emission rates, the RHeco exceeds European norms. Features and Benefits • • • Thermal efficiency 100% at full load and 109% at minimum load for lower operational costs. CO and NOx rates under 25 ppm, considerably lower than the emissions of the previous generation of unit heaters, and already exceeding European norms. New modulating premix burner with “pull through” combustion technology. Negative pressure in the closed combustion circuit ensures that no gas or flue gas can escape. This patented method, unique in the market of gas fired unit heaters, allows the use in public buildings. • Assembly of a new primary tubular heat exchanger and a secondary condensing heat exchanger. • High flow axial fan for a powerful air throw, decreases stratification and improves heat distribution. • 5:1 turn down ratio for close temperature control. Reduced temperature gradients prevent stratification. • Facilitated installation and maintenance: all components and connections are easily accessible. • Safety and reliability: single injector, multi-try ignition, closed combustion, pre- and post ventilation purge, ... Applications • Factories • Retail outlets • Workshops • Warehouses • Halls • Sports facilities • Showrooms • Greenhouses Energy savings In times of rapidly increasing energy costs, reducing energy consumption makes sense both financially and environmentally since this also significantly reduces emissions. Although condensing air heaters require a higher initial capital investment they are very economical and can repay the extra initial cost in fuel savings in 2-4 years depending on usage. In addition, energy efficient heating equipment is already a requirement in many countries, and may be a condition to obtain tax rebates for energy efficient investments. Model range and Options Installation and siting • 5 models with heating outputs between 25 and 95 kW • For use on natural gas (G20, G25) or propane (G31) • Aluminized steel or stainless steel heat exchangers • Standard units with hinged service door at the left hand side (when viewed from the rear) or opposite units opening from the right hand side • Various options for controls • Wall supports for all models • Flues on top or at the rear of the unit Type C12 exists in a concentric or nonconcentric configuration Type B22p Type C42 exists in a concentric or nonconcentric configuration Type C52 Units may be suspended or alternatively mounted on a suitable non-combustible support. Four integral suspension points are provided to each heater. Flues Balanced flue terminals provide both the combustion air inlet and flue outlet from a single building penetration. The terminals are ordered separately from the heaters to suit either a wall or roof outlet. To comply with CE approvals, balanced flue appliances must be used with the manufacturer’s balanced flue system. The maximum length of a balanced flue installation is 15 metres* for concentric conduits and 20 metres* each for separate conduits. Please verify local regulations as some of the configurations shown are not permitted in certain countries. Flue outlets may be ordered on top or at the rear of the unit. Type C32 exists in a concentric or nonconcentric configuration The units are also certified for fan assisted flue installations, where the combustion air is drawn from within the heated space; an alternative wall or roof terminal is required for this application. The maximum flue length for fan assisted flue installations is 30 metres*. *For non-concentric flue pipes, this reduces by 1,5 metres for every 90° bend fitted and 0,75 m for every 45° bend. For concentric flue pipes, this reduces by 2 meters for every 90° bend fitted and 1 meter for every 45° bend. Type B22p Type C82 RHeco TM condensing gas fired unit heater Primary heat exchanger Manufactured from high quality corrosion resistant steel, the entirely new primary heat exchanger reduces thermal stress for enhanced life expectancy. This tubular heat exchanger is welded to the burner box using the newest robotic welding technology to form a highly resistant and durable assembly. Optionally available in stainless steel. Secondary heat exchanger The secondary heat exchanger, made from stainless steel, is constructed weld-free. This heat exchanger constitutes the second part of the flue gas circuit of the RHeco, in which the flue gases condense in a four-pass circuit in order to release their latent heat. The streamlined aerodynamic profile of the secondary heat exchanger results in minimal resistance to airflow to give longer throws and improved air distribution, which reduces energy consumption. Originally used as a primary heat exchanger in other Reznor unit heaters, this proven design is now integrated in the RHeco’s new assembly as a secondary heat exchanger. Flue fan The flue fan provides a negative pressure that ensures that gases can not escape and can only be exhausted through the flue system. The aluminium corrosion resistant flue fan is housed in a separate compartment. Units are fully room sealed to prevent dirt or dust from entering the combustion system. A differential pressure switch shuts down the unit in the event of inadequate combustion air, blocked flue or flue fan failure. Flues Outlets and intakes can be placed on top of the unit or at the rear. Compared with the previous generation of unit heaters, the flue gases have a lower temperature thanks to condensation. This allows the use of longer flue pipes with smaller diameters. Air distribution A high capacity axial fan is fitted to all units for improved air throws and reduced stratification. The fan operation is controlled by an integral controller, which delays the fan start up until the heat exchanger has reached operating temperature and which continues to run the fan after the burner has switched off and all useful heat has been dissipated. Standard fans have a constant speed and optional fan speed control is available. Controls To further maximize its efficiency, the RHeco unit heater is equipped with integrated controls that allow 5:1 modulation. The reduced temperature gradients will prevent stratification. Electrical components All electrical components are accessible from one side of the unit heater through a full width hinged door. The electrical components are housed in the same compartiment as the flue fan in order to facilitate installation and service. Condensate drain Burner Advanced single burner with multi-try ignition for ease of maintenance and optimum reliability. This clean premix burner technology guarantees very low emissions. All units are supplied complete with condensate drain points to the heater and the flue. RHeco TM condensing gas fired unit heater Controls To further maximize the efficiency of the RHeco unit heater, controls with energy saving and safety features are available. Operation is affected by other air moving equipment in the space, obstructions to the airflow, draughts and/or close proximity to doors or windows, etc. Care should taken to avoid mounting the heaters above these recommendations, as significant stratification may occur resulting in poor floor coverage and higher energy losses through the roof structure.
