Vorwort an die Eltern
Diese Kontrabassschule ist für Kinder und
Jugendliche ab ca . 10 Jahren geschrieben .
Sie ist aber auch für Laienmusiker, die
Freude am Musizieren mit dem Kontrabass haben, geeignet . Durch das Spielen
einfacher Melodien, Lieder und Etüden,
aber auch durch leichte Tonleitern und
Akkordübungen werden dem Kontrabassschüler elementare Fähigkeiten zum
Spielen dieses Instrumentes spielerisch
vermittelt . Jede Lage beinhaltet leichte Duette, Spielstücke und Tonleiterübungen mit Klavierbegleitung, die dem
jungen Kontrabassisten den Weg zum
Musizieren mit anderen ebnen sollen .

dieses Bandes) . Ein guter Lehrer, der den
jungen Menschen einfühlsam und kompetent unterrichtet, ihn aber auch in der
Entwicklung seiner Persönlichkeit stärkt
und fördert, wäre ideal .
Musikalität, die Freude am Musizieren, der Wille und die Bereitschaft zum
Üben, aber auch die entsprechende physische Entwicklung des jungen Kontrabassspielers sind elementare Voraussetzungen zum Erlernen des
Kontrabassspiels .

angemerkten Ratschläge
und Empfehlungen beziehen sich nicht nur
auf die instrumentalen Anweisungen, sondern beabsichtigen auch
das allgemeine Interesse an der klassischen
Musik zu wecken
und zu fördern .
A Note to Parents
This double bass tutor is intended for
children and young people from about 10
years old . Working their way through the
simple duets, melodies, songs and etudes,
scales and chord exercises, students acquire the basic double bass skills as they
play. It focuses on each finger position in
turn, with easy practice pieces and scale
exercises with piano accompaniment to
get the young double bass player accustomed to making music with others . (A CD
and music for the piano part is inserted in
the jacket).
Ideally, support should be provided by
a good teacher who can guide the young
player sensitively and competently while
also encouraging their personal development .
Musicality, pleasure in making music,
the will and discipline to practice and the
necessary physical stature and stamina
are the basic prerequisites for learning
the double bass . Comments and notes on
the exercises in this tutor not only give
instructions on how to play but
are also intended to awaken and
deepen the student‘s interest in
classical music .

Ratschläge
für den Anfang
1) Das Instrument, das der junge Kontrabassist spielen möchte, sollte nur
ca . 15 – 20 cm grösser sein als er
selbst (ohne Stachel gemessen) . Es
gibt Werkstätten die Kontrabässe
speziell für Kinder anbieten . Mail:

2) Auch Bögen werden speziell für Kinder hergestellt .
3) Natürlich gehören auch ein Stück Kolophonium, eine Stimmgabel, ein sauberes Staubtuch, sowie ein Metronom
zur Ausstattung des jungen Kontrabassspielers .
4) Der Kontrabass sollte niemals in einem überhitzten Raum aufbewahrt
werden . Am besten die Heizkörper
ganz abstellen und das Instrument
in einem Futteral eingepackt in eine
Ecke eines unbeheizten Raumes stellen .

in an over-heated room . Ideally, the

darauf, dass du jetzt ein Vorzeichen mehr hast

double bass tutor for children, you have
gained an impression of what it is like to
play the largest of the string instruments .
You have learned elementary fingering
and bowing techniques, allowing you to
play etudes and short songs as well as
scales and chord exercises . If you are curious to hear more classical music (and
maybe even like it) you are well on the
way to developing a wonderful ‘friendship’ to accompany you through life .
It is up to you to decide if you want to
continue .
