Hi guys...I hope you had a big good breakfast because diving in huge Athens
needs a lot of energy! Start your day at the Parliament square...yeah exactly....it was in the
news all the time in the past because of the protests being held in front of it every once in a
while. Well not today! Go there, feed the pigeons and watch the guards ending their shift every
30minutes.

If you reading this are a guy you now have the chance to sabotage todays
schedule and ship a long, exhausting shopping stroll trough the longest shopping street Athens
has reaching from the Parlament until down to "Monasteraki Square" which is the old city center
of Athens. Get in a Taxi and go to "Monasteraki Square" directly then;) Pssst I wont tell.... If you
want to be a gentleman tough just walk down all the way from the square opposite from the
parliament down to the old town square.

Okayy I am exaggerating a bit. Athens bazaar is not what it used to be in the old
times. Many trendy stores and of course souvenir shops have settled here now. But its still worth
a walk...an bargaining is no taboo at all....but of course do not expect to get a 30% off as in north
african countries.

Beschreibung
The greeks most appreciated snack is called Souvlaki/Pita and basically consists
out of tomato, french fries, tzaziki, onions and gyros rolled inside a traditional pita bread. Its
very cheap, not even that unhealthy and veryyyyy tasty! You will find it everywhere in greece
but once you are in Athens make sure you buy it at one of the most famous restaurants! The
restaurant is called Thanasis. If you are standing on Monastiraki square look out for a street with
many restaurants. Its the one in the corner opposite the small church. If you wanna sit while you
eat make sure you tell them you dont want bread unless you want them to charge it. Enjoy!

On your way down from acropolis you have the chance to have a coffee and
relax a bit at one of the coolest spots athens has to offer. Beneath the acropolis are the leftovers
of Athens historic town "Plaka". Although it seems to be very quite and empty there, there is one
street with wide stairs surrounded by authentic not touristy coffees full of happy locals and a
nice view on the city. It is pretty hard to find and therefore could stay a secret. Ask a local to
show you the way to Mnisikleous str. and tell him/her you want to have a coffee. If you are there
and want the real greek experience, order a frappe coffee medium sweet with a lot of milk. here

This city if so full of historical sites! So off to the next one.....the olympic
stadium. The Panathenaic Stadium, also known as the Kallimármaro, is a multi-purpose stadium
used for several events and athletics in Athens. The Stadium hosted the first modern Olympic
Games in 1896. Once you are in race your companions and feel the olympic vibe!

Take a Taxi and go up to Likabethos Hill. Walk the remaining stairs (10min) and
be on time for an amazing sunset and a stunning view over Athens. Make sure you are there

You must be really hungry now. Tonight I'll send you to a pretty new district
called "Gazi" which stands for an old gas plant in the area which now is a cultural space
surrounded by many new, trendy but also traditional eateries, taverns and bars. This area is not
known well by tourists yet and currently is the place to be for locals. Take a taxi there or walk all
the way straight down from "Monasteraki square" (10min) until you reach the Metro Station
"Keramikos". Walk on the left side all the way to the end of the square. The restaurant is located
on a small street on the left with chairs outside and and open roof inside. Now make sure you
order some wine of the house and many small starters. Greeks do Mezze and usually do not
