ITA | Il piccolo paese di Limone è oggi uno dei centri turistici più frequentati e
attrezzati del Garda che ha saputo mantenere intatto il fascino del piccolo paese
con un pittoresco centro storico fatto di case antiche, stretti vicoli e porticcioli
incorniciati da una natura rigogliosa che offre innumerevoli possibilità di piacevoli
e rilassanti camminate sia nell’entroterra che al lago. In passato era raggiungibile
esclusivamente via monti o lago e basava la propria economia sulla pesca e sulla
coltivazione di olivi e limoni (è il luogo più settentrionale in cui si possono trovare
coltivazioni di agrumi), a testimonianza di ciò, ancora oggi si possono ammirare i
resti delle antiche e caratteristiche limonaie.
ENG | The small town of Limone is nowadays one of the most popular, wellequipped holiday resorts of Lake Garda, but it has preserved its small-town charm
and style. Its picturesque, historic town center, ancient homes, narrow streets, and
ports surrounded by lush vegetation offer endless possibilities for pleasant, relaxing
hikes and strolls both inland and along the lake.
Reached in the past only from the mountains or from the lake, its economy was
based on fishing and on olive and lemon-growing (it is the northernmost area where
citrus fruits can be grown). The pillars and walls of the lemon houses (the typical
hot-houses where lemons were grown) and the charming fishing port that can still
be seen today are echoes of this old economy.
DEU | Limone sul Garda ist einer der am meisten besuchten und am besten
ausgestatteten Urlaubsorte des Gardasees. Der kleine Ort hat es verstanden, auch
über die Zeit hinaus seine wahrhaft bezaubernde Ausstrahlung zu bewahren, die
von einer malerischen Altstadt mit alten Häusern, engen Gassen und romantischen
Bogengängen sowie von einer üppigen, prachtvollen Natur ausgeht, die immer
wieder zu herrlichen Spaziergängen am Seeufer wie auch zu entspannenden
Ausflügen in das Hinterland einlädt.
Einstmals fußte das Wirtschaftsystem der Ortschaft auf der Fischerei und dem
Anbau von Oliven und Zitronen (Limone ist der nördlichste Punkt der Erde, in dem
wir Zitrusplantagen antreffen). Die Überreste dieses Wirtschaftssystems sind heute
noch zu finden in den Stützpfeilern und Steinmauern der alten und historischen
Zitronengärten von Limone sowie im kleinen Fischerhafen.

del lago di Garda, raccolto attorno allo svettante Castello Scaligero

Scaliger Castle and the historical Palazzo dei Capitani, keeps intact its ancient
