Chers lecteurs,
Nous sommes heureux de vous retrouver pour ce numéro automnal. Ce mois de novembre est
riche d’évènements pour NEAR.
Nous avons le plaisir de vous présenter Alcina de Graziella Antonini, nouvelle publication éditée par
NEAR et Till Schaap Edition. Vous pourrez découvrir cet ouvrage le 21 novembre prochain lors d’un
événement spécial organisé en collaboration avec la Librairie du Musée de l’Elysée (Lausanne).
Afin de réchauffer une morne soirée de semaine, nous vous attendons nombreux le 18 novembre
pour une nouvelle édition des soirées Kinétophone, organisées en partenariat avec le Bourg
(Lausanne).
Bien entendu, dans ce numéro, nous vous invitons également à (re)découvrir différents des
événements, expositions et concours que vous n'avez peut-être pas encore eu l'occasion de voir
sur nos terres helvétiques et en France, Paris Photo oblige.
Nous vous souhaitons une belle lecture et vous donnons rendez-vous le mois prochain pour une

This November is rich in events for NEAR. We have the pleasure to present you Alcina from Graziella
Antonini, new publication edited by NEAR and Till Schaap Edition. You can discover this book on
November 21st during a special event organized in association with the Bookshop of the Musée de
l’Elysée (Lausanne).
We also look forward to see you all on November 18th for a new edition of the Kinétophone events,
organized in partnership with Le Bourg (Lausanne).
Naturally, in this issue you’ll find a list of events, exhibitions and competitions that you might not yet
have had the opportunity to see in Switzerland or in France (specially focused on Paris Photo).

Le Collectif Quinze interroge les liens visuels et sonores que
peuvent engendrer la friche industrielle de la Minoterie d’Orbe.
À travers une utilisation de la vidéo de façon instinctive et
dans un « hasard contrôlé », ils sont bercés par l’idée de créer
des figures dans un lieu qui parait en être dépourvu. / The
Collectif Quinze questions the link between visual and sound
in the former industrial site of the Minoterie d’Orbe. Through
the use of the video in a instinctive way and in a "controlled
risk", they are guided by the idea to create figures in an empty
place.

Lors de la rencontre, les quatre artistes seront présents pour
signer leur ouvrage. Armand Deladoëy, metteur en scène,
proposera une lecture d'extraits de textes de Célia Houdart
(présente aussi ce jour-là) en lien avec les images de Graziella
Antonini. / During the event, the four artists will be present to
sign their book. Armand Deladoëy, stage director, will
propose a reading of Célia Houdart text (whose will also be
present) in connection with Graziella Antonini's images.

Graziella Antonini réalise des images poétiques, qui jouent
subtilement avec l'interprétation du spectateur. La suggestion
est un élément important dans l'ensemble de son œuvre, qui
combine portraits, paysages, scènes d'intérieur ou plans
rapprochés d'objets… Réels ou fictifs, les voyages, comme
les souvenirs et les rêves, se mêlent pour composer un
univers d'images mentales aux géographies multiples, où
différents mondes se croisent. La photographe semble nous
inviter à " être de corps quelque part et ailleurs par la
pensée ". L'artiste titre par Alcina (I à V) différents projets
qu’elle décline en groupes d’images, variables selon le propos
qu’elle développe. Le nom de cette île luxuriante, emprunté
au poème chevaleresque Le Roland Furieux de l’Arioste
(1532), réunit les notions constantes qui accompagnent la
photographe dans son travail. Pour Graziella Antonini, Alcina
est " une collection d'images, dont l’individualité de chacune,
par son format, son angle de prise de vue ou son rendu,
s’inscrit dans un ensemble. L’espace mental qui les relie est
une île, où se confondent illusion et réalité : Alcina. […] Faire
s'entrechoquer une sensation de réalité avec une
indéfinissable impression d'hallucination. Le désir inné
d’illusion tapi en chacun de nous. "
Graziella Antonini (1967, CH / IT) vit et travaille à Vevey et à
Paris. Elle est diplômée de l’Ecole de photographie de Vevey
(CEPV) en 1989. L’artiste s’est fait un nom international avec
sa série Voyage imaginaire au Japon. En 2009 et en 2014 elle
a présenté sa série Alcina dans des expositions personnelles
ainsi que dans plusieurs expositions collectives, festivals
internationaux et projections.

Graziella Antonini (1967, Italy, Switzerland) lives and works in
Vevey and Paris. She received a degree from the Vevey
School of photography (CEPV, Vevey) in 1989. Her practice
as a photographer encompasses several domains, ranging
from architecture to documentary work, while in parallel she is
also engaged in a personal artistic inquiry. From 1998 to
2003, she produced the series Voyage imaginaire au Japon
[Imaginary journey to Japan] which has been an international
success. She regularly presents her work at one-woman
exhibits at the Galerie Davel 14, Cully (2014 and 2009), as
well as in group exhibits, festivals and shows in Europe, the
United States and Asia.
