Krami By Mikael Andersson (Prison and Probation services) (Employment Services) (City of Malmo) Malmo Objective • Find, get and keep a job • Live a law-abiding life • Be self-supporting and participate in new social contexts Organisation National Level Local Level Krami office • A national Board of Collaboration consisting of representatives from the two governmental authorities, the Prison and Probation Services and the Employment Services • Local Steering groups represented by local and regional managers, directors and employees from the three authorities, the Prison and Probation Services, the Labor Market Services and the Municipality • 18 local Krami offices. Each office is organized under the municipality and run by a Krami manager. The employees represent the three authorities. The target group • Both men and women are targeted • The males have to be between 18 and 35 years old and current within Prison and Probation Services. • Women have to have turned 18 years old and it is sufficient if the live within a criminal context. Except for the few that dropped out at an early stage, all had a job one year after starting the program. • Costs of public services o Cost effective analysis: 50% Cost Cut for the Krami group and 25% cut for the control groups. o 15-year investment analysis: expenditure decreases and/or benefit increases of about 2.5 million SEK per individual for the Krami program and 0.5-1.0 million SEK for the control programs Key factors of success 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.
