Introduction Objectives The Buschke-Löwenstein tumour The purpose is to report a rare (BLT) or giant condiloma acuminata (GCA) case of a Buschke-Löwenstein tumour of is a rare sexually transmitted disease the vulva treated with chemoradiaton. caused by Human papilloma virus (HPV) and characterised by invasive growth. The BLT generally presents like an exophytic tumour of the genital or perianal area, preferentially in men with immunodeficiency diseases and rarely occurs in woman. We present a case report of a 18-years-old woman with giant Buschke-Löwenstein tumour of the vulva succesfully treated with chemoradiation. CASE REPORT A female patient, 18, referred to the pelvic surgery service of our hospital, with large warty lesions, vegetating, affecting vulva extending to the lower third of the vagina and perineum. No history of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and seronegative for HIV, reported four months evolution, unresponsive to topical treatment with trichloroacetic acid solution and cryotherapy. She complained of unpleasant odor, local pain and ocasionally bleeding. Physical examination showed bilateral inguinal lymph node, vaginal and rectal examination were not tolerated because of the local pain. Biopsy held that, under the microscope revealed the diagnosis of condyloma acuminata. After multidisciplinary discussion, treatment was initiated with radiation (45Gy) associated with platinum-based chemotherapy (cisplatin). It showed excellent response, with complete remission of the lesion. CASE REPORT DISCUSSION CONCLUSION Giant condyloma acuminatum Chemoradiation is an interesting (GCA), first described by Buschke- alternative treatment, showing good Löwenstein in 1925, is a large, exophytic, response and avoiding a mutilating cauliflower-like lesion, which can be surgical intervention. found on any anogenital mucosal surface.
