RESUMO
PACHECO, Bruno Aragão. OS IMPACTOS ECONÔMICOS DA ISSO 14001. UM
ESTUDO DE CASO DA COMPANHIA ENERGÉTICA DO CEARÁ. (2010.1).
Num período de grandes catástrofes naturais, as pessoas, as empresas e o governo, estão
à mercê dos fenômenos naturais. Esses eventos ocorrem em todo o planeta diariamente,
milhões são afetados e milhares morrem todo ano. E quem é o responsável por isso? De
acordo com o que será discutido nesse trabalho, os relatórios mais recentes mostram que
os gases do efeito estufa são os responsáveis por grande parte dessas mudanças, e como
é o agente econômico o responsável por sua emissão, isso mostra como a atividade
econômica está por trás de toda essa mudança climática ao redor do planeta. No
trabalho será estudado, a que corresponde esse fenômeno, e quais as diferentes
perspectivas desse impacto. Logo após será analisado o que diz a teoria econômica
acerca das externalidades, que correspondem a esses impactos. Em seguida, um seção
sobre a certificação ambiental, pretende mostrar de que forma uma ação tão simples
pode ser uma saída para redução das emissões desses gases do efeito estufa. Por fim
será analisada uma empresa certificada, com o intuito de mostrar como essa certificação
atua na prática, e quais os verdadeiros benefícios que ela trouxe.

ABSTRACT
In a time of big natural catastrophes, people, companies and the government, are
susceptible to natural’s phenomenon. These events occurred daily all over the world,
millions are affected and thousands die every year. Who’s responsible for that?
According to what is going to be discussed in this paper, the newest reports show us
that, the greenhouse gases are responsible for great part of those changes and because
we are responsible for their emission, this also mean, that the economical activity is
behind the climate change across the world. On this paper will be study what this
phenomenon means and which different perspectives of this impact will be approach.
Soon after will be analyzed what the economic theory has to say about it, and what’s the
meaning of externality. Right after, we have a section about environmental certification,
that intend to show which way, such a simple action can become a solution to reduce
the greenhouse gas emissions. At last will be analyzed a certified company, with the
purpose of showing how the certification works and what real benefits it brings to the
company.
