 W E L C O M E P A C K WWA Supra Wakeboard World Championships 2015 Presented by Rockstar For the first time the Wakeboard Top Event is performed outside the United States and will take place in Portugal, at Castelo do Bode Lake. The President of the World Wakeboard Association, Shannon Starling, has called Portugal the “European Florida” because it resembles the fantastic conditions for wakeboarding. The WWA World Wakeboard Championships is the most exclusive WWA event. It also adds to the points for rankings on the WBWS – including the USA, Brazil, Canada, Japan and Portugal for the 2015 season. We can count on the world’s most elite professional wakeboarders to compete in Portugal, side-­‐by-­‐side amateurs from around the world waiting for a chance. Pete Tha Zouk, one of the biggest house dj’s in Portugal and Daft Punk Tribute performance, will be the highlight of the weekend. This is the first lake party ever made in Portugal! This Lake Party starts during the day, with free entrance, after 20:00 (8 p.m.) the price is 10€, with a number of drinks included. Some Portugal Dj’s who were invited to perform will open the dance floor, followed by a display of lights and sound with the Daft Punk Tribute. To close the evening, the top national DJ, Pete Tha Zouk will be performing! Around the Lago Azul resort and Apartamentos do Lago Hotel, you will find regional food, street food, street entertainment, sunset parties every day, free camping and activities such as flyboard, paddle boats, canoes, etc. 4 ABOUT THE WAKEBOARD PORTUGAL PROJECT Wakeboard Portugal's mission is to make the sport more accessible in Portugal by building a great international touristic destination at the same time. Castelo do Bode Lake will implement the world’s first wakeboard resort with cable systems, boats and fun parks. There are five different locations, all of them with unique features spread in a water surface of around 30 km, connected by pontoon boats. Castelo do Bode Lake’s climate and surroundings make a perfect spot for wakeboarding. This region is a destination that is excellent for practitioners, followers and fans around the world. The strategic plan for this project includes the top Wakeboard event, the 2015 WWA Supra Wakeboard World Championships on September 2015, the creation of a new resort at Castelo do Bode Lake, and the wakeboard nationals in this region. This is a pioneering vision of the potential wakeboarding has in Portugal. It is a strategic project to position Portugal as a European group of the sport and to promote Castelo do Bode Lake as a place of excellence for wakeboarding. It starts at 10:00 and ends at 20:00. Bus will be parked outside Airport Arrivals, on the right side of airport exit; the shuttle will be identified with Wakeboard images. It takes less than 2 hours, from Lisbon to Ferreira do Zêzere (Lago Azul). You have to take the highway A23, exit to Tomar. Follow the signs to “Ferreira do Zêzere”. After you cross the village you will find indications to “Lago Azul”.
