After a successful debut album, nearly
three years of international touring and
an extended stay in Jamaica, Elijah is
back with his second album “Eat Ripe
Fruit” (to be released on August 29,
2014). Organic and vibrant, the album’s
sound is strongly influenced by Elijah’s
impressions
and
experiences
in
Waterhouse, a ghetto in Jamaica’s
capital. “Eat Ripe Fruit” will be released
by Elijah’s own label One Camp.
After his highly successful debut album
“Beweg di”, concerts on hundreds of stages
around the world and winning the award as
“Best European Newcomer” at the European
Reggae Contest, Elia Salomon, known as
Elijah, is back. His second album “Eat Ripe
Fruit” will be released on August 29, 2014
and was produced in collaboration with

Raging Fyah, one of the bright lights of the Jamaican roots reggae scene.
Elijah and Raging Fyah recorded a large part of the album in Bob Marley’s
legendary Tuff Gong Studios. Elijah led the production together with
Grammy-nominated producer Russell Hergert.
“Eat Ripe Fruit” reflects Elijah’s journey from a young artist singing in Swiss
German to a singer, songwriter and producer who expresses himself in
various ways: be it through singing, instruments or by switching between
Swiss German, Jamaican Patois, Spanish and French as if they were all one
language. At the same time, Elijah stays true to the fundamentals of roots
reggae: The album’s sound is organic and vibrant, and rough and raw at
times.
The album will be released by Elijah’s label One Camp and will be available
on CD, as digital download and on vinyl (double record with three special
songs and a digital download code).
About Elijah
Elia Gunnar Salomon, known as Elijah, was born in Zurich on August 20,
1986 as son of an Italian father and a Swiss-Norwegian mother. Elijah is a
multi-lingual singer and songwriter who mainly sings in Swiss German,
English, Jamaican Patois, and Spanish. His musical style is best described as
roots reggae mixed with various other genres such as dub, bossa nova, rap,
and blues. As a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, flute, conga) and songwriter,
he writes and produces most of his music himself.
In 2007, Elijah’s debut album “Beweg di” was released. The singles “Gib mer
meh” and “Las Bliebe” were in rotation on various national radio and TV
stations. With 500,000 views on Youtube, the single ”Sie isch wäg” is his
most-viewed video. “Beweg Di” sold more than 6,000 copies in Switzerland
and Germany.
In 2008, Elijah won the award as “Best European Newcomer” at the
European Reggae Contest. With the album “Beweg di”, he toured Central
Europe, Africa, Central America during nearly three years and played more
than 200 concerts.

In 2009, he made his debut as a producer with the sampler “Naturality” and
released “Beweg Di – Outernational” on the German market.
In 2010, he released the single “Do Good In Life” sung in English, which
garnered airplay in Jamaica and on several international radio stations.
Between 2010 and 2013, he produced his second album “Eat Ripe Fruit” in
Jamaica, Senegal, and Switzerland.
In 2014, he founded his own record label, One Camp.
