“Notes from Fr. Bill”
“I shall return.”
General Douglas MacArthur spoke these
famous parting words as he evacuated the Philippine Islands. We hear these words in today‟s
Gospel as Jesus tells us: “I will come again and
I will take you to myself.”
MacArthur kept his promise. Addressing the
soon-to-be liberated Filipino people he said, “The
guidance of divine God points the way. Follow in
His name to the Holy Grail of righteous victory!”
When Jesus returns for us, we won‟t need such
inspiring rhetoric. All we will need is his familiar
and simple: “Come, follow me.”
On May 12th a number of our parishioners responded to the call “Come, follow me” and attended
a diocesan “Stewardship Day” workshop. It was an
inspiring day, and challenges us to embrace
“stewardship” and to make it our „way of life‟ at St.
Therese parish. Let‟s see what this will bring us …
and, that we might embrace it in our desire to follow
the Lord and His call; and, that when He returns for
us, He will find us working together in the vineyard.

esus said to him, "I am the way and the truth
and the life. No one comes to the Father except
through me. If you know me, then you will also
know my Father. From now on you do know him and
have seen him." - Jn 14:6-7
"
In my Father's house there are many dwelling
places. If there were not, would I have told you
that I am going to prepare a place for you? And
if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back
again and take you to myself, so that where I am, you
also may be." - Jn 14:2-3

despedida al evacuar las Islas Filipinas.
Oímos estas palabras en el Evangelio de hoy
cuando Jesús nos dice: “Vendré de nuevo y los
llevaré conmigo.”
MacArthur cumplió su promesa.
Dirigiéndose a los Filipinos en espera de su
liberación dijo: “La dirección de Dios divino nos
enseña el camino. Siga en Su nombre hacia la
victoria justa!”
Cuando Jesús regresa para nosotros, no
vamos a necesitar retorica inspiradora. Solo
necesitamos su llamada conocida: “Ven, sígame.”
El doce de mayo un número de fieles
respondieron a la llamada “Ven, sígame” y
participaron en un taller diocesano sobre
“Corresponsabilidad.” Fue un día inspiradora, y
nos reta a abrazar “corresponsabilidad” y hacerlo
nuestro „modo de vivir‟ en nuestra parroquia.
Vamos a ver lo que nos trae …y, que lo
abrazamos en nuestro deseo de seguir al Señor y
su llamada; y, que cuando Él venga, nos encuentra
trabajando juntos en su viña.

esús le respondió: "Yo soy el camino, la
verdad y la vida. Nadie va al Padre si no es
por mí. Si ustedes me conocen a mí,
conocen también a mi Padre. Ya desde ahora lo
conocen y lo han visto". - Jn 14, 6-7
"
En la casa de mi Padre hay muchas
habitaciones. Si no fuera así, yo se lo habría
dicho a ustedes, porque voy a prepararles un
lugar. Cuando me vaya y les prepare un sitio,
volveré y los llevaré conmigo, para que donde yo
esté, estén también ustedes". - Jn 14, 2-3

Estudio de biblia en el salón de la familia,

GRATITUDE & APPRECIATION
Thank You, Sara Buscher and Padre Bill for the
wonderful, very uplifting and spiritual
Pilgrimage trip to Illinois to visit the National Shrines
of St. Maximilian Kolbe and St. Therese of Lisieux. On
behalf of everyone on the tour, we extend our sincerest
appreciation! Also, Thank You to our Bus driver, Tim
from “Nationwide Travelers” for driving us safely to
both of the Shrines and back to Appleton. All of the Pilgrims on the trip
were a lot of fun to be with, by the end of the two days we were like
family. Looking forward to the next trip!

23. Penny Day – “A Penny saved is a penny earned”. Do
you know who said that? A wonderful day to help your
children learn how to distribute their allowance…some to
give at church, some in savings for the future and some to
spend. And a good time to
learn the lesson of “delayed gratification”.
24. First Morse Code Message Sent on this date in 1844 –
by Samuel Morse from Washington, D.C. to Alfred Vail
in Baltimore, Maryland. The message? “What God hath
wrought” (Numbers 23:23). What would this day have to
do with the saint whose
feast day we celebrated on May 20th? A good day to have
a discussion with your children about “appropriate” communications.
25. National Missing Children Day – Let us all pray today
to our own “Lady of Good Help” that all missing children
are returned to their proper homes. Talk with your children about how to stay safe.
26. Feast of St. Philip Neri – patron of US Army Special
Forces – another good day topray for our military. That
through the intercession of this saint our troops will
remain safe.
27. The Golden Gate Bridge opens in 1937 – do you know
who the patron of bridges and bridge builders is? Hint:
