Hypermarcas continues shopping spree Tuesday, 14th December 2010 by Emiliano Mellino Hypermarcas, a Brazilian medicine, food and hygiene product manufacturer, has continued its shopping spree with the acquisition of children's soap brand Pom Pom from Colgate Palmolive. The US$148 million deal closed on 1 December, with Hypermarcas retaining regular counsel Souza, Cescon, Barrieu & Flesch Advogados and TozziniFreire Advogados advising the sellers. Hypermarcas has kept Souza Cescon busy this last year, retaining the firm for a series of M&As including its acquisition of personal care product producer York, nappy company Mabesa and the Brazilian subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson. The Pom Pom deal includes the soap company's sale and distribution platforms, intellectual property rights, marketing business, inventory, promotional materials and formulas.
