The Shuttle Line at Salgado Filho International Airport in Porto Alegre, which is the capital of Rio
Grande do Sul (Brazil), was planned as one of the projects for the World Cup 2014. The flexibility
of the job and its rapid implementation were crucial for the launch, which happened one year in
advance, in 2013. As the Aeromovel is a transportation featured by an elevated guideway, it was vital
to facilitate the mobility between two important spots of the city: the airport and the local train.

SPECIFIC TABLE OF THE LINE
The Aeromovel runs through a track of 1 km,
and connects the airport to the local train
station. Thus, the influx of users of the Shuttle
Line is supplied by the train which joins both
downtown and other cities in the metropolitan
region of Porto Alegre, in a track of 43 kilometres.
The system has arisen as a quick, comfortable and
safe transport solution that reduced the route that
could only be done on foot or by bus, to less than
two minutes. The low cost of maintenance of an
air-powered system is considered ideal for airport
connection projects. This line has two vehicles
in operation which are able to carry up to 10,000
passengers every day, at a significantly lower cost in
comparison to other similar transportation ways.
