J Gästebuch Geführte Safari durch Botsw ana, im Caprivi/ N amibia und zu den Viktoria Fällen/ Sambia – September 2007 Ja, wir sind wieder wohlbehalten aus Afrika zurückgekommen. Es war sehr schön, leider auch ein paar negative Erfahrungen, u.a. wurden 4 Leute aus unserer Gruppe in Maun ausgeraubt. Man hat uns die Rucksäcke buchstäblich unterm Hintern weggeklaut. Auch unser Guide war unserer Meinung nach noch nicht ganz ausgereift, möchte aber auch noch anmerken, daß der Junge sicher gutes Potential hätte, aber er muß erst noch erwachsen werden. Bilder kann ich erst später nachliefern, da meine Freundin Fotos gemacht hat und die erst entwickelt werden müssen. Vielen Dank für die guten Informationen und den perfekten Ablauf. Anschlußflüge und Tickets hat alles super funktioniert!! Afrika hat was, ist leider nur zu weit weg :o) Anbei noch die Bewertung. Das Camp, in dem die Mokoro­Fahrten stattfinde, die Zelte waren ziemlich abgewirtschaftet und kaputt, aber ansonsten alles Bestens ! Am Besten gefallen hat uns der Tierreichtum, die Natur und der Kontakt zur (örtlichen) Bevölkerung. Therefore we have strong recommendations to offer your services to other clients as well! A lot of animals in park and the guides were objective, the location was beautiful. Three hours in this park was perfect timing. 5hours to and back to Cape Town is long ride, but with good company and perfect guide, the time flies and you can see a lot on your way. Broken tire was fixed in one hour, and appeared to be adventurous considering the help from locals. I did not want to make a note of it, but the client were representatives of UNITED MOTORS LTD, sales office of BMW automobiles in Estonia, so from them only good service gets feedback like that! There was a real feeling of having high quality, tailor­made (our suggestions and ideas about the shape of the whole trip were closely observed) and personal service. We were provided with very good and useful driving directions (bearing in mind that road signs in South Africa are not always 100% clear)! The only two hic­coughs were the stay at Bonamanzi Reserve with a Safari trip there, and the visit to Cradle of Humankind, but thanks to Nina and Liezl from CPT office, things were fixed very quickly ­ something which was really important and priceless, as we were on a very packed and tight schedule. That allowed us to enjoy the trip rather than worry about the logistics. With my frequent traveling and with large part of my family working in travel industry, I can really appreciate how much experience, effort and commitment must have gone into preparing such a good value­for­money and exciting trip at quite a short notice. I cannot imagine using any other tour operator for my next trip to this part of the world. ANASAFARI/ Dolphin Tours assisted Gambro BCT with hotel accommodation for 150 people, airport transfers, VIP guests, the organisation of the launch event, several dinners, an internal pre­congress training and a distributor meeting. Remarkable was, that their service was available 24/7 (around the clock!). Many of our guests also added some holiday time to their stay. We really did think that the whole trip was excellent. Can only say that given the time constraints which we had i.e. the short time scale to organise anything and the fact that you were working around pre­booked flights it was difficult to allow you and Liezl much of a free hand. Certainly given the same trip I think we would have flown in and out of Hoedspruit and out of Jo'burg the same day – but hindsight is a wonderful thing and the road transfer did not detract from the trip at all. We're still going on to anyone who will listen about how great it was. You've managed to turn us both from "people who want to do a safari once just to tick the box" into "people who want to go again"! Without that visit we would not have seen any water buffalo. I am not sure what we expected on the river cruise, but they did have an outdoor toilet in the jungle that turned a head or two. I would agree with Janis that the river cruise was not a highlight. The two women that were also on that tour had incredible vision and both were expert bird watchers. This became evident when the daughter spotted the lions at the reserve near dusk walking across the horizon. Neither Janis nor I could see 10 feet in front of ourselves. It was a marvellous experience that we shall not soon forget. Many thanks for setting it up. David “Last night we went to the Disney theatrical production of Lion King. When the elephant walked in made from silk and about 12 ft tall, I had tears in my eyes remembering the beauty that makes SA. Many of the actors/actresses were from SA also. It was wonderful, but tied to the memories that we have of a beautiful country, culture and people, it was especially enjoyable and memorable. The next day we were very lucky to see from our bedroom some whales jumping. ‘De Zeekoei’ ­ we followed your recommendation to have dinner at Jemima's: very good. During the whole trip I was amazed about the prices of food and drinks in the restaurants. For us they were very acceptable regarding the quality which is served. ‘Botlierskop’ ­ picnic with the elephants: very nice experience to recommend to everyone. ‘Phantom Forest’ ­ was again an exceptional location and it was strange to see trees growing through the terrace of our accommodation. ‘Ocean Safari’: the whales were so close that I had to take of the tele­lens and take pictures with the normal lens!! In general this has be one of the experiences of our life, and I would immediately return, but I think my banker (wife, Martine) will disagree.
